US President Donald Trump on July 15 said he did not understand the persisting "fascination" with the files relating to the late sexual offender Jeffrey Epstein but he added people should have access to anything that is credible.

He said such information should be released amid backlash from some of his supporters over how the Justice Department handled the investigation into Epstein's death in 2019 and his alleged clientele.

00:00Mr. President, I know you've urged people to move on, but I'm curious, why do you think
00:17your supporters in particular have been so interested in the Epstein story and so upset
00:23about how it's been handled?
00:24I don't understand.
00:25Why they would be so interested, he's dead for a long time, he was never a big factor
00:31in terms of life.
00:34I don't understand what the interest or what the fascination is, I really don't.
00:40And the credible information has been given.
00:42Don't forget, we went through years of the Mueller witch hunt and all of the different
00:46things, the Steele dossier, which was all fake.
00:50All that information was fake.
00:52But I don't understand why the Jeffrey Epstein case would be of interest to anybody.
00:57It's pretty boring stuff.
00:59It's sordid, but it's boring.
01:01And I don't understand why it keeps going.
01:04I think, well, really only pretty bad people, including fake news, want to keep something
01:10like that going.
01:11But credible information, let them give it.
01:14Anything that's credible, I would say let them have it.
01:18Have a great time.
