00:00Did you still live on this land? Did you have a house here?
00:06I'm stuck.
00:07Whoa! God!
00:13The man strolls along the Appalachian Trail, his breath visible in the chilly mountain air.
00:18His camera records the mist rolling over the trees as he recounts his adventure.
00:22Very misty morning here.
00:25Just stopping for a moment to catch my breath.
00:33As you can see, there will be sort of a view down there, but it's very foggy.
00:38That's where he came from.
00:41Kind of mostly an uphill trek, this part.
00:45Like I said, we'll be heading to Hawk Rock Overlook first.
00:49Once I get up there, I'll start telling you a little bit more about this story.
00:52He's nearing the Cove Mountain Shelter, a modest wooden hut designed for tired hikers.
00:57As he draws closer, he starts sharing the eerie history connected to the site.
01:02He informs his viewers that long before this current shelter was built,
01:05there was an earlier one with a sinister past.
01:0813th, not July 13th.
01:10I did bring some notes along, I thought I'd double check.
01:13Like I said, except it wasn't in this shelter, but the other one was no longer here.
01:17But they were, you know, hiking and the drifter came along.
01:22Like I said, it was in the early morning hours.
01:24So they were asleep.
01:26They were fast asleep when he came up on them.
01:28And, of course, you have to understand, too, that he had plenty of time to plan out what he was going to do.
01:35You know, he came up on them.
01:36I think he saw that it was, you know, a man and a woman.
01:38And, you know, he had time to think about what he wanted to do.
01:43I think he had, you know, he had plans for the woman.
01:46So he had to get rid of the guy.
01:47So, but, you know, they were completely unsuspecting of what was going to happen.
01:52And that's absolutely nothing against them.
01:54You're sleeping.
01:55It doesn't matter what you have or how prepared you are.
01:58If you're sleeping, you know, if someone like that comes along, what can you do?
02:02But he shot the guy in the back of the head.
02:05He had a pistol that dispatched the guy.
02:08And then, of course, I'm not going to go into detail, but he tied the woman up and did things to her
02:14and then killed her afterwards as well.
02:17And I forget, it didn't take too long for people to find the bodies
02:21because people use these shelters all the time for the Appalachian Trail.
02:24The vlogger's voice remains calm and steady,
02:26but there's a hint of unease in the way he glances around at the surrounding trees,
02:30as if expecting someone or something to be watching him.
02:33He proceeds to recount how the crime sent shockwaves through the hiking community.
02:37The following morning, other hikers found the bodies,
02:40and soon authorities were on the hunt for the perpetrator.
02:43It didn't take long to apprehend him, a drifter seen hitchhiking nearby.
02:48Justice was served, yet the shadow of the crime continued to cast a pall over the trail.
02:54The original shelter, scarred by its grim history, fell into decay as hikers refused to sleep there,
03:00frightened by the events.
03:02Over time, it rotted away, infested with rodents, until it was eventually demolished and burned.
03:08A new shelter was built nearby as a replacement, an attempt to erase the past,
03:12but some wounds are not so easily healed, and the past refuses to be forgotten.
03:17It's just unfortunate too, because it's so beautiful to be out hiking in the woods and stuff,
03:20and there's people that are afraid to come out because of stuff like this that happens, so...
03:25You know, and don't let the horrible things that happen to other people prevent you from enjoying your life, you know.
03:38There's a very low chance for you to be attacked in a shelter, and have happened to you what happened to Molly and Jeff.
03:44I mean, you're probably just as likely to be attacked.
03:47I mean, you could lock yourself up in your home for the rest of your life if you're afraid of being attacked,
03:50but you have just as likelihood of being attacked in your own home as they did out here as well, so...
03:55that's something to consider too.
03:59As he arrives at the shelter, the vlogger pauses, turning the camera to reveal the empty surroundings.
04:04He mentions to his viewers that even today, some hikers avoid staying here, reporting strange noises at night.
04:11Whispers, footsteps, and the rustling of unseen figures in the darkness.
04:15Others claim they feel watched, with an undeniable sense that they're not alone.
04:19He chuckles, dismissing these tales as superstitions, but a hint of uncertainty flickers in his eyes.
04:25Determined to verify the stories, he decides to spend the night.
04:28He signs off for now, promising an update in the morning.
04:31Luckily for him, the only fright he encounters is the eerie mist drifting along the trail.
04:36The paranormal discovery team sets out on a winter camping adventure deep within the haunted woods of Nova Scotia,
04:43a region steeped in indigenous history and eerie legends.
04:46Welcome back to another episode, if you guys missed our previous treks.
04:50We did trek, what, two times already?
04:53Yep.
04:54And, uh, we told you guys we're gonna go deeper, trying to figure out if there's a wendigo here, spirits.
04:59You came in contact with the boy.
05:01We're off to the races again, to go even further.
05:04Ah.
05:08Does it look like my back's gonna break?
05:11I have everything on my back.
05:13Oh my gosh.
05:14Like 85% of the stuff we have is on me right now.
05:18As they trek through the snow, they eventually arrive at a location they've dubbed Moon Rock,
05:23where they set up camp for the night.
05:26Alright, so...
05:27How dare you?
05:28This is where we were last night.
05:30Yeah, this is the...
05:34I call this area, like, Moon Rock.
05:36Moon Rock.
05:37Because we were, like, right underneath the moonlight.
05:40Yeah, it was quite beautiful.
05:41Right up there.
05:42Hey, there's a fire pit.
05:43I didn't even see that.
05:44Did you see that fire pit?
05:45I did, last night.
05:46Oh, I didn't even...
05:47Yeah.
05:48Oh, we could've had a fire.
05:49Oh, well.
05:50Next time.
05:51Alright, so this is Moon Rock.
05:53We gotta keep trekking.
05:59We're starting to get the sun going down.
06:04What in the hail?
06:10Careful.
06:11This looks...
06:14Slippery.
06:15It's simultaneously eerie and enchanting.
06:18Under the glow of the moonlight, the area evokes a sense of solitude.
06:22As night descends, the atmosphere grows strange, and everyone senses a presence nearby.
06:27They activate their spirit communication devices, and before long, a chilling voice resonates through.
06:37Is that a path there?
06:38No idea.
06:39No idea.
06:40The child wants help.
06:42Um, Chels?
06:43The child!
06:44Child's back!
06:45Child's back!
06:46Is this spirit talker?
06:47Yeah, spirit talker.
06:48Child's back.
06:49Hi!
06:52We came back to help you.
06:54We actually made it one of our goals tonight.
06:57Everyone freezes, stunned yet determined.
06:59They tell the spirit they're there to help the voice, then admit, I'm upset.
07:04Is that a path?
07:05I'm upset.
07:06What makes you upset?
07:07Nope, it's not a path.
07:08Do you need help finding your family?
07:12The team continues to inquire, hoping to learn additional information.
07:13Is this a path?
07:14You can trust us, we're...
07:15They keep secrets.
07:16What?
07:17They keep secrets.
07:18What?
07:19They keep secrets.
07:20You can trust us, though.
07:21We're here to help you, truthfully.
07:22You can trust us, though.
07:23We're here to help you.
07:24Truthfully.
07:25You will cause no harm at all.
07:26You are there, Grandma.
07:27No harm at all.
07:28You can't?
07:29No harm at all.
07:30No harm.
07:31You are hurt.
07:32Are you there?
07:33No harm at all.
07:34Me from this-
07:35No harm.
07:36No harm.
07:37Go, be, be, be, be, be, be, be, be, be.
07:38No harm.
07:39No harm.
07:40Are you still there?
07:41But you were there...
07:42No harm at all.
07:44Okay.
07:45I'm sorry.
07:46Can we?
07:47Can we?
07:48we're here to help you truthfully you will cause no harm at all
08:01i'm touching your back
08:04i'm touching your back whose back are you touching mine or hers
08:09man or woman manipulation are we close to you right now they conceal the truth the voice answers
08:23enigmatically and then something unsettling occurs the spirit asserts that it's making contact with
08:30someone's back i'm touching your back i'm touching your back whose back are you touching mine or hers
08:46man or woman manipulation
08:52the investigators experience a wave of discomfort when they request additional information the voice
08:57claims that people have seen it leading them to believe it might be the same figure they observe
09:03rushing into their tent during a previous visit they then shift their focus to the tent area
09:08hoping to establish a more substantial connection people have seen me people have seen me was he
09:15the one that maybe you saw going into the tent maybe i think this is the boy someone let's stick
09:21around the tent the boy just snuck into her town chelsea i'm not even joking when i said that i believe
09:26you i saw someone like dart like this into the tent and like the back arm is what i saw just kind of
09:34like let's let's go back to the tent and see if the little point is around there the child's name is
09:40finally revealed thomas says that death is not the end and a wave of sadness washes over the group thomas
09:49hello thomas i assume you're the little boy death is not the end
09:56you know i can relate to that i'm aware thomas are you able to tell us how old you are
10:12thomas appears isolated and overlooked trapped in this place as they inquire about his history
10:18his frustration builds and he repeatedly states i'm angry the team attempts to comfort him assuring him
10:24they're there to listen but his responses remain unclear and evasive did you used to live on this
10:29land did you have a house here i'm angry that's twice i'm upset i'm angry yeah i understand that you're
10:46angry are you able to tell us why you are angry
10:53or what is making you angry
11:02do you feel like you've been forgotten
11:07suddenly a noise interrupts them causing everyone to halt the words use your senses echo through their
11:14minds prompting them to listen intently thomas's sorrow becomes overwhelming weighing heavily on
11:20him he feels trapped and the atmosphere of the camp begins to shift the group chooses to move but
11:26regardless of the direction they take they find themselves returning to their original spot the air
11:31grows thick and oppressive and someone advises them not to linger too long as something feels off and
11:38unsettling
11:56i'm innocent
11:59somebody's telling me that the boy was murdered
12:01oh
12:14satanic is that true were you killed
12:21no
12:29it's hard to tell
12:35it's hard to tell
12:40ew
12:44can you help me with my glove again sorry
12:45yes sam
12:49thank you
12:53the hell was that
12:55could be a helicopter
12:56helicopter
13:01that sounds different than a helicopter
13:06i don't see anything
13:13what the
13:15why is that so low
13:18could be a helicopter
13:20it might be
13:21or is it one of the drones
13:26no i don't think
13:26there's multiple flights in that
13:29yeah that's the second looking car
13:31so i kept saying something about like innocent
13:55i was innocent
13:56something tells me that this boy
14:02is
14:02is lost
14:04and there's a story behind this boy
14:06yeah
14:07and i think he noticed us from our first time here
14:10and now he's
14:13followed us he's known us and he's like oh you've returned back three times now
14:18yeah
14:19tell my story
14:20tell me like it's just like in my instinct like this boy
14:23is alone
14:25in his realm
14:26you know
14:27yeah like i really
14:28feel that he's like been forgotten
14:31you know like that's how he feels is like he's been forgotten
14:35so maybe us getting his story out
14:38if he's willing to tell us his story maybe that can help bring him some closure and not be so upset
14:43yeah
14:43or help him kind of move on to whatever he needs to do next
14:47to return to safety they realize they must pass through the eerie area
14:52which makes them even more anxious
14:54as they progress they begin to believe that thomas is trapped in that place
14:59and they decide to uncover his story perhaps by discovering old records about him
15:04they can help him find peace
15:05you know and the scary part is too babe is we have to walk back
15:10through that part to get back to the car
15:12i know right
15:13when we've been feeling safe over here
15:16so we have to leave the safety and go through the danger to get home
15:20yeah
15:21oh man
15:23trapped trapped
15:25this poor child
15:28yeah he is trapped
15:29i feel so bad
15:30i'm telling you i think something's up
15:33i just don't know why he's not like
15:36acceptance
15:37why he doesn't want to like come through to like me
15:41in that sense you know
15:44maybe he's just like cautious
15:46maybe was that just in the forest there was like a
15:49did you hear that i didn't hear huge branch
15:53as they are on the verge of departing they suddenly receive a strange message regarding the nature of time
15:58prompting a shiver to run down their spines
16:01time doesn't exist
16:03time doesn't
16:04destruction
16:05i cannot feel my legs
16:09yeah it's good my toes
16:11do you need to go in the tent
16:13um it's okay for now
16:16can you make a noise
16:17immediately following their night vision camera suddenly malfunctions
16:23and one of them experiences a heavy pressure pressing down on them
16:27signaling that it's time to go
16:29this is nuts
16:30so our night vision is completely dead
16:35you okay
16:35yeah i have a lot of weight on me
16:37yeah you do
16:42am i the only one hearing stuff in the distance
16:45like back
16:46that way
16:49many people believe the video was heavily faked
16:52regardless of the truth
16:53it's definitely not something you'd want to encounter alone in the dark deep in the mountains
16:58in our initial video a hiker embarks on a nighttime adventure deep within the appalachian mountains
17:04aiming to stealth camp in an old abandoned fire tower that towers above the forest
17:09in today's exploration we will be venturing on a journey never before taken both for myself
17:15and on this channel hiking hours into the unknown darkness of the appalachian mountains
17:21to stealth camp atop a long abandoned fire tower last used in the 1970s
17:33traveling at night will allow us to be greeted with a beautiful panoramic view
17:37of the valley created thousands of years ago
17:40as we watch the sun's light illuminate the darkness in real time
17:44this decaying tower sways and creaks with every gust of wind
17:55and in today's journey we will test our bravery and survival
17:59as i use this experience to feel more connected to the earth and myself
18:04the trek is challenging as night falls and mysterious sounds from the wilderness fill the air
18:13i have to admit to you guys this is my first time camping solo
18:18i guess this is full-blown camping in the past i've went camping if you've watched inside an abandoned
18:24asylum i was accompanied by a friend tonight i'm accompanied by my own thoughts
18:30and my paranoia of the woods so this is the first time this is the first time my life i've ever been
18:39so in the woods by myself so i'm using this as therapy and kind of like a reset sometimes when you're
18:49feeling down you have to remind yourself that you're capable of doing a lot more than you think
18:54and just doing a little bit more than expected that you think of yourself could actually get you
19:00out of a rut quicker than you think so that's what my goal is here today and i'm going to talk
19:07about some things that have been going on in my life to cause such stress once we get higher up
19:15but man this mountain is kicking my ass right now i'm trying to get up as much as i can before the
19:21daylight completely goes down behind me i'm gonna need the light soon though
19:28you can see the sun setting
19:34that's all we got upon reaching the summit the hiker notices an old cell phone tower
19:40a modern substitute for the fire tower they are seeking after a short pause they proceed along a
19:45rugged overgrown road toward the deserted structure
19:51so far this is perfect because i did want to have a complete surprise in the morning
20:10when i woke up to a completely panoramic autumn view here
20:15so here we are we're finally on top of the mountain this is a cell phone tower so i should
20:23be able to watch some youtube tonight while i'm camping they built this as a replacement fire tower at
20:30first we still have another one mile to go on this road to get to the vacant one that shut down in
20:35the 1970s but this is the one they replaced it with they chopped off the top eventually and just
20:41made it a cell phone tower because eventually you really didn't need fire towers as communication
20:47became easily and more easily accessible okay now the road's looking a little bit less maintained
20:54pretty sure this is where the rattlesnakes might become the biggest threat because of how much brush
20:59is covering the trail
21:00i hear my first rattlesnake he's in this brush over here
21:18i don't even know if he's able to be picked up on the microphone but i hear him winds picking up
21:23it's getting cold i got goosebumps on the back of my neck i can't wait to get some warm
21:31food in my stomach and be in my sleeping bag
21:39there's a big opening here looks like a lot of small trees in the distance this is going to be good
21:44because just in case the fire tower is too dangerous for me to stay in i'm gonna have to oh there's a
21:53deer right there looking at me you guys see that deer right there
22:03it's a nice buck it's at least like a six pointer
22:08all right buddy we're gonna leave you alone
22:11the trail grows increasingly overgrown and the hiker remains vigilant for any rattlesnakes
22:16concealed in the bushes however as they continue onward their nerves start to calm
22:22it all changes dramatically as the man ascends the tower as he makes his way upward he begins to
22:27hear loud unsettling sounds emanating from above him these noises suggest that something unexpected
22:34or potentially dangerous is happening at the top of the tower adding an element of tension and mystery to
22:40his journey
22:44and there's the wind
22:58wow that wind is crazy right now holy
23:01we're almost at the top it's so windy up here it's crazy
23:13here we are
23:19hello
23:19it's just wood when he reaches the top he discovers the cabin is strangely unoccupied
23:34so he chooses to set up camp for the night however during the night he keeps hearing unusual banging
23:40noises this way there's a couple support beams going this way so it should support me i hope the wind
23:48wind isn't too bad but we're finally up here after about two hours of walking and hiking
23:54holy crap
24:02wow this thing shakes a lot a lot
24:04wow
24:17that's pretty crazy
24:20this is going to be quite the night
24:22the man believes the noises are caused by the wind in the old building so he chooses to settle in for
24:27the night and go to sleep fortunately for him there are no further unsettling encounters the night is eerily
24:33quiet as d prepares her campfire the unsettling silence is only interrupted by the occasional
24:38crackle of burning wood her dog mara is restless eyes fixed intently on something in the darkness
24:44the air hangs heavy with tension and d senses it too something is lurking out there mara's growling
24:50grows more intense as she stares intently at the trees but d can't see what has her so agitated
24:56suddenly complete silence falls no chirping crickets no rustling leaves nothing the forest seems dead and
25:02still d scans the surroundings trying to identify what has caught mara's attention but the smoke from
25:08the fire distorts her view come here mara what are you looking at down down there is where mia was
25:16here and wouldn't come to me on camera down there whatever they saw they booked it this way
25:24and wouldn't come back to me so i don't know what that was about
25:27what is she seeing i can't see anything because of smoke
25:34mara quit sneaking on it get back come on get over here come
25:43i don't see anything i don't see what she's seeing
25:48smoke come here good girl he's a good dog i see you mara mia i know you're a good girl you'd be right
25:53here all the time then shadows move and shift among the trees a flickering light appears in the distance
26:00but when she concentrates on it it disappears mia please don't knock my camera over mia's right
26:06under my feet again that she does that when she gets scared what is that light is that a light right
26:15there what is that is that what she's looking at now there's two what is that the fire reflecting because
26:27i don't know i think it's a fire i hope there's three now on the camera i'm hoping it's just fire
26:34yeah okay there it went all right that's crazy looking though ain't it
26:39it's making a face
26:46that's crazy i don't know what she's staring at mara all right
27:02i guess we're gonna get walking that's a car passing on the road over there
27:05all right a few more minutes with that guy down i'll let you guys keep staring see what she if you
27:12can see what she sees i turn the light on you can't see nothing now i do see at the very end
27:18darkness but i think that's just part of the trail where it curves but i'm not sure
27:35oh that's crazy that's crazy i gotta get the light on all right
27:49all right guys we're gonna get to walking i'm gonna um
28:05let's get these legs at the bottom of this i'm just gonna carry the tripod so i can let you guys
28:08down when i want and walk away suddenly a metallic clang reverberates through the forest resembling the
28:17weighty thud of a gate slamming or a rusted chain being dragged so i'm about three and a half hours
28:23no how long it was two hours and 35 minutes to get here
28:30that's how far away i am from home so i gotta i gotta stick it out i don't want to drive that late
28:36but i'm nervous i'm nervous nelly
28:46i just heard metal again it's not like a door shutting a loud boom but metal scraping
28:54all right all right all right i'm getting the tent i'm gonna leave you guys recording followed by a
29:04chilling guttural g sound something unnatural something wrong a loud knock then another resembling
29:11the striking of wood a warning a message d calls out her voice trembling yet steady if i'm invading your
29:19space i can leave but there's no response only oppressive silence and the pounding of her own
29:26heartbeat echoing in her ears what is that what the fuck is that what's happening absolutely not up here
29:45i can do it i can do it
30:15i can do it come on guys you can have me i can do it
30:21i can do it
30:24la la la la la la la la la la
30:29hello my name's d
30:34if i'm invading your area i can leave
30:40i just picked a really secluded area and thought hey why not
30:45the trees don't just sway their leaves but the entire branches shake violently as if something
30:51enormous has brushed past them mara lets out a sharp bark of surprise her body rigid day's breath
30:57catches whatever is out there is large and nearby a deep rhythmic breathing sound follows not hers not
31:04mara's the fire flickers wildly casting erratic shadows that play tricks on her eyes suddenly there's a
31:10rustling in the bushes something is moving closer then from the darkness she has sees eyes reflecting
31:17back at her high off the ground still unblinking days she captures the eerie glow with her camera
31:24the eyes disappear then reappear closer than before
31:36so
31:38so
31:44so
31:48so
32:00Let's just take a break.
32:15Yeah.
32:17I don't know when, except now.
32:19I've got two between me. I've got one in front of me.
32:22Just through the whole tree.
32:24Oh my god, that's crazy.
32:26Stop! Okay, okay.
32:30A shiver runs along her spine as she detects deep,
32:37deep, deep, deep deep.
32:41I've got two between me. I've got one in front of me.
32:46Just through the whole tree.
32:48Oh my god, that's crazy. Stop! Okay, okay.
32:53A shiver runs along her spine as she detects deep,
32:59rhythmic breathing. It's not hers nor Mara's.
33:02The fire flickers wildly, casting unpredictable shadows that deceive her eyes.
33:08Hello?
33:09Hello?
33:10Hi.
33:11Mara's whining. I can hear you, Mara. It's okay, Mara.
33:15I'm coming back.

33:30I'm coming back.
33:32I'm coming back.
33:37Suddenly, a loud crash erupts.
33:39Something has been thrown forcefully.
33:41Her instincts urge her to flee, but she forces herself to remain.
33:45She surveys the surroundings.
33:47Nothing apparent, but she feels certain that she's being watched.
33:50Pogey, pogey.
34:00Let's go.
34:30Hold on, it's okay Mara, it's alright, I know baby, I'm coming soon, we're gonna lay
34:44in there, we're gonna chillax, I got my tablet, we can watch some doggy stuff, some funny animals.
34:57And Dee catches the sound of something rushing rapidly through the undergrowth, heavy footsteps
35:02breaking twigs and rustling leaves, as it heads in her direction.
35:12My cousins live in North Dakota and I spent the winter break their freshman year in college.
35:18We were at their friend's house at night, drinking in our basement with some other girls and
35:22it was really...
35:29It was really late, like 3am.
35:34I was falling asleep so I decided to walk home.
35:36They live in a desolate area with lots of snow and gets really, really cold, especially at
35:42night.
35:43Oh, you're scaring me.
35:44But the houses weren't too far apart, and when the moon is out it seems light out.
35:50I'm sucking, I'm scared again, sorry, no, you're scared.
35:56The path we always take is straight behind the house, through the wooded areas, then more
36:03open land, and I was...

43:28Just when she begins to believe it's over, headlights cut through the darkness, revealing
43:42a pair of glowing eyes staring silently from the shadows.
43:45They remain unmoving, watching her.
43:47Before she can react, they disappear.
