00:00At around 11pm on December 6th, 2016, a man named Julio Perez went with his friend to
00:17a convenience store a couple of blocks away from his house.
00:21According to what he shared online two days after, his friend had been afraid to go by
00:24herself because the store parking lot was known to be unsafe after dark.
00:29After spending some time at the store and buying dinner at Carl's Jr., Julio said bye to his
00:33friend and pulled out of the parking lot.
00:35But just a few seconds later, a red car can be seen pulling out of the same parking lot
00:39and starting to follow him on his way home.
00:42Disturbingly, as soon as Julio arrives at the stop sign, the red Chrysler can be seen pulling
00:46up right in front of him and blocking his path.
00:49So, uh, hit me up tomorrow then.
00:52Later.
00:53Later.
00:54It's always a little bit of a chip.
01:08I hope to keep going.
01:19I hope to keep going.
01:27Given the circumstances, Julio reacted much quicker than most people would.
01:45As soon as he saw someone about to get out of the red car, he put the car in reverse and
01:49skillfully backed away.
01:51Unfortunately for him, the driver of the red car refused to give up so easily and continued
01:55to follow closely.
01:58Who the f*** is that?
02:02Who the f*** that is, man?
02:06Who the f*** away from me?
02:09I don't know who the f*** that is.
02:22What the f***, man?
02:23What the f*** are you doing, dude?
02:29At one point during the chase, the attackers throw an unidentified object at Julio's car
02:36in an effort to get him to stop.
02:42This is when he decides to call 911 for help.
02:49911.
02:50911.
02:51911.
02:52911.
02:53911.
02:54911.
02:55Hey, man.
02:56911 emergency.
02:57Hey, there's a car following me.
02:58He's throwing s*** at me.
03:00I'm on Lomas.
03:01I'm on Lomas going eastbound and he's, I don't know what he's doing, man.
03:07Hey, Lomas and what's the closest cross street to you?
03:09Right now, San Pedro.
03:10It's a red light.
03:11Holy s***.
03:12I mean, they're trying to get out of the car.
03:13I don't know what he's doing, man.
03:14I don't know what he's doing, man.
03:15Hey, Lomas and what's the closest cross street to you?
03:17Right now, San Pedro.
03:18It's a red light.
03:19Holy s***.
03:20I mean, I don't know what they're trying to do, man.
03:21Oh, my God, man.
03:22You see what it looks like?
03:23It's a red Chrysler 300.
03:25Holy cow.
03:26Are they still throwing things?
03:27They're just right behind me.
03:28I don't know what they're doing, man.
03:32I don't know what they're doing, man.
03:34I'm on Lomas and what's the closest cross street to you?
03:37Right now, San Pedro.
03:38It's a red light.
03:39Holy s***.
03:40I mean, I mean, I don't know what they're trying to do, man.
03:42Do you see what it looks like?
03:43It's a red Chrysler 300.
03:44Holy cow.
03:45Although the 911 operator was probably dispatching units as they spoke, it would have probably
03:52taken the officers at least a few minutes to arrive, which would have been extremely
03:55dangerous for Julio.
03:57Luckily, as he's on the phone with the dispatcher, he spots a cop car stopped at a traffic light
04:01and pleads for help.
04:15Hold on.
04:17Hey, Mr.
04:18Are you still there?
04:27Holy
04:28The cops are going after him.
04:31Is the officer there with you?
04:32No, he just went on a high-speed car chase.
04:35Holy cow.
04:37Okay, hang on with me.
04:40I just saw a police officer right now.
04:42I'm not sure what the hell just happened, man.
04:46How you doing, man?
04:47I'm with the 911 operator right now.
04:50Listen, I don't know what happened.
04:52I pulled out.
04:53I was going to go get some food right there on Central.
04:55And then all of a sudden, this car just pulled up right in front of me.
04:58I thought they were going to carjack me or something, man.
05:00And they started to get out.
05:02I put it in reverse, and I just got the hell up out of there and went down towards San Pedro
05:06and Central.
05:06Did you get a plate number I wasn't able to get?
05:08Man, I was...
05:09That's okay.
05:10That's fine.
05:10I got it on camera, though, bro.
05:12Do you have it on camera?
05:13Yeah!
05:15Unfortunately, the suspect managed to get away from the officer during the high-speed chase,
05:19and it was never confirmed what his intentions were that night.
05:22But judging by his behavior, it's more than likely that this was an attempted carjacking.
05:26Had the officer not been at the right place at the right time,
05:29Julio would have had to stop at the red light alone,
05:31where he would have been at the mercy of the attacker.
05:34Because neither the cop nor Julio could get the red Chrysler's license played,
05:37the Albuquerque Police Department couldn't pursue the matter any further,
05:40meaning that the suspect probably continued preying on other victims on the road.
05:44This footage was captured on a random road on the outskirts of Warsaw, Poland on March 30th, 2014.
05:53Inside the vehicle is a man and his daughter.
05:56The road is pretty poorly lit, and even with headlights on,
05:59the driver probably can't see more than 20 or 30 feet in front of him.
06:02A few seconds into the video, a car traveling in the opposite direction flashes its headlights at the driver,
06:07in what appears to be a warning.
06:09Unfortunately, the driver doesn't have enough time to react,
06:12and this is where things take a pretty dark turn.
06:14After swerving to avoid the man standing in the middle of the road,
06:37the driver attempts to correct the vehicle's path.
06:39However, this is much easier said than done in the heat at the moment.
06:42Unable to control the car, the father and daughter fly off the road and come to a rest in a ditch.
06:48Although it appears that the man had his back turned to the car at the moment of the incident,
06:52there's still no reason to be standing in the middle of a pitch black road while there are cars passing by.
06:57Given the man's irrational behavior,
06:59it's possible that he was either under the influence of something,
07:02or attempting to take his own life.
07:04But because the man immediately fled the scene,
07:06his true intentions that night are anyone's guess.
07:09According to the driver, he and his daughter both sustained minor injuries,
07:13and the police were never able to find the mysterious man.
07:15In 2018, Lauren and Brian Swenson were in the process of opening a CrossFit gym
07:23in Nairobi, Kenya with two local trainers.
07:26One day, the Utah couple were on their way to do some filming with their trainers to promote their gym,
07:31when they suddenly came across the traffic jam on the main road.
07:35Soon after taking a detour on a dirt road,
07:37the Swensons and the trainers passed two officers on foot with weapons
07:40who gestured for the couple to give them a ride.
07:43For reasons they didn't disclose,
07:44they chose not to pick up the officers and continued driving
07:47until they came across a white public transport vehicle stopped in the middle of the road.
07:51Although the couple didn't notice at the time,
07:53the driver of the white van tried to warn them with his headlights,
07:56but they missed the signal,
07:58and this is where things get disturbing.
07:59Just as they passed the van,
08:21three men armed with machetes appear from behind the vehicle
08:24and charge at the Swenson's car.
08:26Reacting quickly to the situation,
08:28the driver immediately shifts the vehicle into reverse to gain some distance.
08:31As the men get closer,
08:33one of the trainers instructs Bryant to drive forward,
08:35and as he does,
08:36one of the attackers tries to reach through the window with his machete.
08:40In a Facebook post she shared after the incident,
08:42Lauren mentioned that when they first saw the bandits,
08:44Bryant's window was only partially up,
08:46and that he sped back in reverse to buy some time to roll it up.
08:49When the bandits attacked the car,
08:51the window was cracked a couple of inches,
08:53but luckily it wasn't enough for the machete to fit through.
08:56As Bryant speeds away on the dirt road,
08:58one of the trainers mentions that he could see cops arriving at the scene.
09:01Alarmingly, a shot could be heard behind the vehicle,
09:23presumably from the confrontation between the cops and the men with machetes.
09:27In her Facebook post,
09:28Lauren mentioned that if she had picked up the officers,
09:31or even let them ride on the side rails as they went up the road,
09:33they would have likely opened fire on the bandits.
09:36Luckily,
09:37the Swensons and the trainers were able to ride away safely,
09:39but it was not confirmed if anyone was hurt after the encounter.
09:42In May of 2021,
09:47a series of storms swept through West Virginia,
09:49bringing winds as strong as 70 miles per hour to the region.
09:53On May 26th,
09:54a woman named Amber Revis was driving down Route 51 in Jefferson County
09:58when power lines started falling across the road.
10:01This is what her dash cam captured.
10:02With the swift maneuver,
10:22Amber manages to swerve off the road just in time to avoid the impact of the power lines.
10:26She later uploaded the video to Facebook and thanked the people who stopped to help her.
10:30These situations are incredibly dangerous for more than one reason.
10:35In addition to the threat of being crushed under the weight of the falling power line,
10:38electrocution is also a significant risk.
10:41If a live power line makes direct contact with a car,
10:44or even comes close to it,
10:45the driver can be fatally electrocuted.
10:47The power line could also potentially ignite the car's fuel,
10:50leading to a fire or explosion.
10:52Luckily,
10:53the wires didn't come close enough to Amber's car to do any damage,
10:56and she was able to drive away unharmed.
10:57This clip was captured in Chile on February 26, 2022,
11:03and later uploaded to Reddit.
11:05In the footage that was captured by the driver's dash cam,
11:08the white car in front can be seen braking more than is necessary,
11:11and moving a little suspiciously down the road that leads up to a tunnel.
11:15The driver with the dash cam keeps his distance,
11:17as the white car comes to a complete stop.
11:20And this is where things get interesting.
11:21As soon as the white car stops,
11:47at least four suspects jump out and start running towards the driver's car,
11:51in what we can assume to be a carjacking attempt.
11:54Having sensed that something was wrong from the start,
11:56the driver reacts in a split second and accelerates quickly.
12:00The attackers have just enough time to move out of the way
12:02as the driver rams into the white car and takes off the door as he speeds away.
12:06One thing that caught many viewers' attention
12:08is the fact that the man remained incredibly calm throughout the attempted carjacking.
12:12His awareness of the situation and quick thinking ultimately kept him out of harm's way,
12:17and based on his behavior,
12:18it's very likely that this isn't the first time something like this happened to him.
12:22This seems to be echoed by the description that was uploaded to Reddit
12:25by the user who posted the video.
12:27The caption read,
12:28To give more context, this happened in Chile.
12:31I wasn't driving, but I often use that route.
12:33Here, this type of carjacking has become so common
12:36that it's a risk to get out of the car after 10pm,
12:38and all drivers have learned to keep their distance from the front cars on exits.
12:43There's not a lot of information on this incident online,
12:45and it was never confirmed if the carjackers were caught by police or not.
12:51In August of 2020, a series of fires broke out across Northern California,
12:55causing a wave of destruction,
12:57the likes of which had only been seen 5 times before in that area.
13:00In what came to be known as the infamous LNU Lightning Complex,
13:04multiple fires merged together,
13:06burning a total of 363,220 acres,
13:09destroying 1,491 structures,
13:12and heavily damaging another 32.
13:15Caused by a combination of thousands of lightning strikes,
13:18a record-breaking heat wave,
13:20and strong winds blowing across the state,
13:22the LNU Lightning Complex soon grew to be the 6th largest fire complex in California history.
13:27One of the largest fires,
13:29known as the Hennessy Blaze,
13:30originated in Napa County,
13:32and eventually merged with 7 other fires to burn over 300,000 acres of wildland.
13:37On August 18th,
13:38just a day after the Hennessy Fire started,
13:40a man named Tyler Day captured dashcam footage of the walls of flames
13:44as he drove through the blaze on Highway 128 and Steel Canyon Road in Napa.
13:48This is what he saw.
14:18In what looks like a scene from an apocalyptic movie,
14:34Tyler drives through the raging fire to safety,
14:36capturing this terrifying footage of the burning forest along the way.
14:40From the threat of falling trees to melted roadways and blocked paths,
14:44driving through a raging fire is obviously extremely dangerous.
14:47Luckily, Tyler was able to make it out alive.
14:50Sadly, the same can't be said for others,
14:52as the fire complex claimed the lives of 6 people
14:55and injured another 5 as the flames engulfed entire communities in California.
14:59At the time of the recording,
15:01the Hennessy Fire was 0% contained,
15:03and it wasn't until October 2nd of that year
15:05that the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection
15:07announced that the entire complex had been extinguished.
15:12On the evening of Sunday, April 14th, 2019,
15:15a power line came down at the intersection of Route 70
15:19and Colonial Drive in Manchester County, New Jersey,
15:21in the middle of a thunderstorm.
15:23The wire ended up falling and getting stuck on a traffic light,
15:27and in the early morning hours of Monday, April 15th,
15:30an employee with Jersey Central power and light went to untangle the wires.
15:33Sergeant Hemhouser from the Manchester Township Police Department
15:37was parked at the intersection,
15:39thanks to which the incident was captured on the dashcam of his patrol car.
15:42In the footage, the worker can be seen untangling the wire and pulling at it
16:01in an attempt to get it unstuck.
16:03Of course, for this to be safe, the power line would have to be de-energized,
16:07especially if the ground was still wet.
16:08In a later interview, Sergeant Hemhouser claimed that he was under the impression
16:12that the power line had been previously de-energized,
16:15and it seems as if the worker thought the same thing.
16:18But just a few seconds into the video,
16:20the worker gets the scare of a lifetime when the power line touches the ground.
16:23As soon as the wire makes contact with the wet road, it bursts into flames.
16:42The worker can be seen immediately dropping the wire and leaping back in surprise,
16:46obviously not expecting the power line to be live.
16:48After the initial shock, the utility worker takes off running and makes his way to safety.
16:53According to Sergeant Hemhouser, the flames were so hot that they burned holes in the asphalt on the street.
16:59After the incident was reported,
17:01Jersey Central Power and Light immediately launched an investigation
17:03to determine why the power line was even live in the first place
17:06if a utility worker had been given the green light to fix it.
17:10Although the exact cause of the incident was never publicly revealed,
17:13no further incidents had been reported in the area.
17:15This dashcam footage was captured on March 1st, 2013, in Bashkira,
17:22a republic of Russia that sits between Volga and the Ural Mountains in Eastern Europe.
17:27In the video, a tornado can be seen quickly approaching the vehicle and the adjacent house.
17:32What follows is a shocking display of the sheer force of nature
17:35as the 130 mph winds wreak havoc on the house and its surroundings.

17:55At first, only the tree and some tarp that was flying on the ground can be seen moving
18:13in the wind.
18:14But just a few seconds later, the roof is ripped off the house, the vehicle is thrust
18:18forward and debris starts flying everywhere as the tornado rages on.
18:23When the video was originally uploaded to reddit in 2014, the user who posted it didn't include
18:27any context surrounding the incident.
18:30We can only hope that there was no one in the house when the tornado struck, but we'll
18:33likely never know if that was the case.
