00:00Hello and welcome to Manchester World. My name is Theo Houston Betts and today I'm out on the streets of Manchester asking people about pubs.
00:06Now many people in this city love a pub, particularly on a hot day like this for a quick after work pint.
00:12But many pubs across the country are closing, including a number of Wetherspoons.
00:16We want to know if people are worried about the future of our pubs and why they think they're so important to British culture.
00:21We were in a pub the other day before we went to Oasis and you referred to it as a Wetherspoons and I was like,
00:26well this isn't actually a Wetherspoons and you were like, isn't it? Because everything's now either a Wetherspoons or a Wetherspoons light.
00:32Where it's like the food's basically the same, you scan a code and you order the exact same stuff and all the drinks are the same.
00:38And it's like, even the interior and stuff is the same and it's, I think maybe people are just, maybe they're just becoming a little bit bored.
00:45You have to do so many different things like from having other bands, good bands, quiz nights and different nights and live sport and stuff like that to get to pull people in.
00:55And it's different from suburbs.
00:57Hope run into it is somewhere like here in the city centre.
