The Book of Zechariah is one of the Twelve Minor Prophets in the Hebrew Bible (Tanakh) and the Christian Old Testament, delivering a message of hope, restoration, and the coming of God's kingdom. Written by Zechariah, a prophet and priest, around 520–480 BCE, the book takes place during the post-exilic period, when the Jews had returned from Babylonian exile and were struggling to rebuild the Temple and restore their nation under Persian rule. Along with Haggai, Zechariah encouraged the people to complete the Second Temple, but his prophecy extends beyond that, offering visions of the future, the coming Messiah, and God's final victory over evil.
The book is divided into two main sections. The first half (chapters 1–8) consists of a series of eight night visions, followed by messages urging repentance and faithfulness. These symbolic visions include images of a man among myrtle trees, four horns and four craftsmen, a flying scroll, and a golden lampstand, all pointing to God’s protection over Israel, judgment on their enemies, the rebuilding of Jerusalem, and the restoration of true worship. Zechariah also delivers messianic prophecies, such as the vision of Joshua the High Priest, who represents God’s ultimate priest-king—a role later fulfilled in Jesus Christ according to Christian interpretation.
The second half (chapters 9–14) shifts to apocalyptic and messianic prophecies, speaking of the coming of a righteous king, the suffering of God's servant, and the final victory of God’s kingdom. One of the most famous prophecies in Zechariah 9:9 foretells the Messiah’s entry into Jerusalem:
"Rejoice greatly, Daughter Zion! Shout, Daughter Jerusalem! See, your king comes to you, righteous and victorious, lowly and riding on a donkey."

00:00Zechariah Chapter 1
00:04In the eighth month, in the second year of Darius, came the word unto Zechariah, the
00:09son of Berechiah, the son of Iddo, the prophet, saying, The Lord hath been sore displeased
00:16with your fathers.
00:19Therefore say thou unto them, Thus saith the Lord of hosts, Turn ye unto me, saith the
00:25Lord of hosts, and I will turn unto you, saith the Lord of hosts.
00:30Be not as your fathers, unto whom the former prophets have cried, saying, Thus saith the
00:35Lord of hosts, Turn ye now from your evil ways, and from your evil doings, but they did not
00:40hear, nor hearken unto me, saith the Lord.
00:44Your fathers, where are they, and the prophets, do they live for ever?
00:49But my words and my statutes, which I commanded my servants the prophets, did they not take
00:55hold of your fathers?
00:57And they returned and said, Like as the Lord of hosts thought to do unto us according to
01:02our ways, and according to our doings, so hath he dealt with us.
01:08Upon the four-and-twentieth day of the eleventh month, which is the month of Sebat, in the second
01:14year of Darius, came the word of the Lord unto Zechariah the son of Berechiah the son of
01:19Iddo the prophet, saying, I saw by night, and behold a man riding upon a red horse.
01:27And he stood among the myrtle trees that were in the bottom, and behind him there were red
01:34horses, speckled and white.
01:37Then said I, O my Lord, what are these?
01:40And the angel that talked with me said unto me, I will show thee what these be.
01:45And the man that stood among the myrtle trees answered and said, These are they whom the
01:50Lord hath sent to walk to and fro through the earth.
01:54And they answered the angel of the Lord that stood among the myrtle trees and said, We have
01:58walked to and fro through the earth, and behold, all the earth sitteth still, and is at rest.
02:05Then the angel of the Lord answered and said, O Lord of hosts, how long wilt thou not have
02:11mercy on Jerusalem and on the cities of Judah, against which thou hast had indignation these
02:16threescore and ten years?
02:19And the Lord answered the angel that talked with me with good words and comfortable words.
02:25So the angel that communed with me said unto me, Cry thou, saying, Thus saith the Lord of
02:31hosts, I am jealous for Jerusalem, and for Zion with a great jealousy.
02:37And I am very sore displeased with the heathen that are at ease.
02:42For I was but a little displeased, and they helped forward the affliction.
02:48Therefore thus saith the Lord, I am returned to Jerusalem with mercies.
02:53My house shall be built in it saith the Lord of hosts, and a line shall be stretched forth
02:58upon Jerusalem.
03:00Cry yet, saying, Thus saith the Lord of hosts, My cities through prosperity shall yet be spread
03:07abroad, and the Lord shall yet comfort Zion, and shall yet choose Jerusalem.
03:14Then lifted I up mine eyes, and saw, and behold, four horns.
03:19And I said unto the angel that talked with me, What be these?
03:24And he answered me, These are the horns which have scattered Judah, Israel, and Jerusalem.
03:31And the Lord showed me four carpenters.
03:33Then said I, What come these to do?
03:37And he spake, saying, These are the horns which have scattered Judah, so that no man did
03:42lift up his head.
03:44But these are come to fray them, to cast out the horns of the Gentiles, which lifted up their
03:50horn over the land of Judah to scatter it.
03:54Chapter 2 I lifted up mine eyes again, and looked, and behold, a man with a measuring
04:02line in his hand.
04:04Then said I, Whither goest thou?
04:08And he said unto me, To measure Jerusalem, to see what is the breadth thereof, and what
04:13is the length thereof.
04:16And behold, the angel that talked with me went forth, and another angel went out to meet
04:21him, and said unto him, Run, speak to this young man, saying, Jerusalem shall be inhabited,
04:28as towns without walls, for the multitude of men and cattle therein.
04:34For I, saith the Lord, will be unto her a wall of fire round about, and will be the glory
04:41in the midst of her.
04:42Ho, ho, come forth and flee from the land of the north, saith the Lord.
04:48For I have spread you abroad as the four winds of the heavens, saith the Lord.
04:53Deliver thyself, O Zion, that dwellest with the daughter of Babylon.
04:58For thus saith the Lord of hosts, After the glory hath he sent me unto the nations which
05:04spoiled you, for he that toucheth you, toucheth the apple of his eye.
05:09For behold, I will shake mine hand upon them, and they shall be a spoil to their servants,
05:16and ye shall know that the Lord of hosts hath sent me.
05:20Sing and rejoice, O daughter of Zion, for lo, I come, and I will dwell in the midst of thee,
05:27saith the Lord.
05:29And many nations shall be joined to the Lord in that day, and shall be my people.
05:34And I will dwell in the midst of thee, and thou shalt know that the Lord of hosts hath
05:39sent me unto thee.
05:41And the Lord shall inherit Judah his portion in the holy land, and shall choose Jerusalem
05:47again.
05:49Be silent, O all flesh, before the Lord, for he is raised up out of his holy habitation.
05:58Chapter 3.
06:00And he showed me Joshua the high priest standing before the angel of the Lord, and Satan standing
06:06at his right hand to resist him.
06:10And the Lord said unto Satan, The Lord rebuke thee, O Satan.
06:15Even the Lord that hath chosen Jerusalem rebuke thee.
06:18Is not this a brand plucked out of the fire?
06:22Now Joshua was clothed with filthy garments and stood before the angel.
06:28And he answered and spake unto those that stood before him, saying, Take away the filthy garments
06:33from him.
06:34And unto him he said, Behold, I have caused thine iniquity to pass from thee, and I will clothe
06:41thee with change of raiment.
06:44And I said, Let them set a fair mitre upon his head.
06:48So they set a fair mitre upon his head, and clothed him with garments.
06:53And the angel of the Lord stood by.
06:56And the angel of the Lord protested unto Joshua, saying, Thus saith the Lord of hosts, If thou
07:02wilt walk in my ways, and if thou wilt keep my charge, then thou shalt also judge my house,
07:10and shalt also keep my courts.
07:12And I will give thee places to walk among these that stand by.
07:18Hear now, O Joshua the high priest, thou and thy fellows that sit before thee.
07:24For they are men wondered at.
07:26For behold, I will bring forth my servant, the branch.
07:31For behold the stone that I have laid before Jerusalem.
07:35Upon one stone shall be seven eyes.
07:38Behold I will engrave the graving thereof, saith the Lord of hosts, and I will remove the
07:43iniquity of that land in one day.
07:47In that day, saith the Lord of hosts, shall ye call every man his neighbor under the vine
07:53and under the fig tree.
07:56Chapter 4
07:58And the angel that talked with me came again, and waked me, as a man that is wakened out
08:03of his sleep, and said unto me, What seest thou?
08:08And I said, I have looked, and behold a candlestick all of gold, with a bowl upon the top of it,
08:14and his seven lamps thereon, and seven pipes to the seven lamps, which are upon the top thereof,
08:21and two olive trees by it, one upon the right side of the bowl, and the other upon the left
08:26side thereof.
08:28So I answered and spake to the angel that talked with me, saying, What are these, my lord?
08:35Then the angel that talked with me answered and said unto me, Knowest thou not what these
08:40be? and I said, Know my lord.
08:43Then he answered and spake unto me, saying, This is the word of the Lord unto Zerubbabel,
08:49saying, Not by might nor by power, but by my spirit, saith the Lord of hosts.
08:56Who art thou, O great mountain?
08:59Therefore, Zerubbabel, thou shalt become a plain.
09:03And he shall bring forth the headstone thereof, with shoutings, crying, Grace, grace unto it.
09:10Moreover the word of the Lord came unto me, saying, The hands of Zerubbabel have laid the
09:15foundations of this house.
09:17His hands shall also finish it, and thou shalt know that the Lord of hosts hath sent me unto
09:24you.
09:25For who hath despised the day of small things?
09:29For they shall rejoice, and shall see the plummet in the hand of Zerubbabel with those seven.
09:35They are the eyes of the Lord which run to and fro through the whole earth.
09:41Then answered I, and said unto him, What are these two olive trees upon the right side of
09:46the candled stick, and upon the left side thereof?
09:49And I answered again, and said unto him, What be these two olive branches, which through
09:54the two golden pipes empty the golden oil out of themselves?
10:00And he answered me, and said, Knowest thou not what these be?
10:04And I said, No, my lord.
10:07Then said he, These are the two anointed ones that stand by the Lord of the whole earth.
10:15Chapter 5 Then I turned and lifted up mine eyes,
10:19and looked, and behold a flying roll.
10:23And he said unto me, What seest thou?
10:27And I answered, I see a flying roll, the length thereof is twenty cubits, and the breadth
10:33thereof ten cubits.
10:35Then said he unto me, This is the curse that goeth forth over the face of the whole earth,
10:42for every one that stealeth shall be cut off as on this side according to it, and every
10:47one that sweareth shall be cut off as on that side according to it.
10:52I will bring it forth, saith the Lord of hosts, and it shall enter into the house of the thief,
10:58and into the house of him that sweareth falsely by my name, and it shall remain in the midst
11:03of his house, and it shall consume it with the timber thereof and the stones thereof.
11:10Then the angel that talked with me went forth, and said unto me, Lift up now thine eyes, and
11:16see what is this that goeth forth.
11:19And I said, What is it?
11:22And he said, This is an ephah that goeth forth.
11:26He said, Moreover, this is their resemblance through all the earth, and behold there was
11:31lifted up a talent of lead, and this is a woman that sitteth in the midst of the ephah.
11:37And he said, This is wickedness.
11:40And he cast it into the midst of the ephah, and he cast the weight of lead upon the mouth
11:46thereof.
11:47Then lifted I up mine eyes, and looked, and behold, there came out two women, and the
11:53wind was in their wings, for they had wings like the wings of a stork.
11:58And they lifted up the ephah between the earth and the heaven.
12:03Then said I to the angel that talked with me, Whither do these bear the ephah?
12:08And he said unto me, To build it an house in the land of Shinar, and it shall be established,
12:15and set there upon her own base.
12:19Chapter 6
12:21And I turned and lifted up mine eyes, and looked, and behold, there came four chariots
12:27out from between two mountains, and the mountains were mountains of brass.
12:32In the first chariot were red horses, and in the second chariot black horses, and in the
12:39third chariot white horses, and in the fourth chariot grizzled and bay horses.
12:45Then I answered and said unto the angel that talked with me, What are these, my lord?
12:51And the angel answered and said unto me, These are the four spirits of the heavens, which
12:56go forth from standing before the Lord of all the earth.
13:00The black horses which are therein go forth into the north country, and the white go forth
13:06after them, and the grizzled go forth toward the south country.
13:10And the bay went forth and sought to go that they might walk to and fro throughout the earth.
13:16And he said, Get you hence, walk to and fro through the earth.
13:21So they walked to and fro through the earth.
13:25Then cried he upon me, and spake unto me, saying, Behold, these that go toward the north country
13:31have quieted my spirit in the north country.
13:35And the word of the Lord came unto me, saying, Take of them of the captivity, even of Heldi,
13:42of Tobijah, and of Jediah, which are come from Babylon.
13:46And come thou the same day, and go into the house of Josiah the son of Zephaniah.
13:53And take silver and gold, and make crowns, and set them upon the head of Joshua the son
13:58of Josedeck the high priest.
14:01And speak unto him, saying, Thus speaketh the Lord of hosts, saying, Behold the man whose
14:07name is the branch.
14:08And he shall grow up out of his place, and he shall build the temple of the Lord.
14:14Even he shall build the temple of the Lord, and he shall bear the glory, and shall sit
14:19and rule upon his throne.
14:21And he shall be a priest upon his throne.
14:24And the council of peace shall be between them both.
14:28And the crowns shall be to Helam, and to Tobijah, and to Jediah, and to Hinn the son of
14:36Zephaniah, for a memorial in the temple of the Lord.
14:41And they that are far off shall come, and build in the temple of the Lord, and ye shall know
14:46that the Lord of hosts hath sent me unto you.
14:50And this shall come to pass, if ye will diligently obey the voice of the Lord your God.
14:58Chapter 7 And it came to pass in the fourth year
15:01of King Darius, that the word of the Lord came unto Zechariah in the fourth day of the
15:06ninth month, even in Chislew.
15:09When they had sent unto the house of God, Sherezer, and Regam-Melech and their men, to
15:15pray before the Lord, and to speak unto the priests which were in the house of the Lord
15:20of hosts, and to the prophets, saying, Should I weep in the fifth month, separating myself
15:27as I have done these so many years?
15:30Then came the word of the Lord of hosts unto me, saying, Speak unto all the people of the
15:35land, and to the priests, saying, When ye fasted and mourned in the fifth and seventh month,
15:42even those seventy years, did ye at all fast unto me, even to me?
15:49And when ye did eat, and when ye did drink, did not ye eat for yourselves, and drink for
15:55yourselves?
15:57Should ye not hear the words which the Lord hath cried by the former prophets when Jerusalem
16:02was inhabited, and in prosperity, and the cities thereof round about her, when men inhabited
16:09the south and the plain?
16:11And the word of the Lord came unto Zechariah, saying, Thus speaketh the Lord of hosts, saying,
16:18Execute true judgment, and show mercy and compassion every man to his brother, and oppress
16:25not the widow, nor the fatherless, the stranger, nor the poor, and let none of you imagine evil
16:32against his brother in your heart.
16:34But they refused to hearken, and pulled away the shoulder, and stopped their ears, that they
16:40should not hear.
16:41Yea, they made their hearts as an adamant stone, lest they should hear the law, and the words
16:48which the Lord of hosts hath sent in his spirit by the former prophets.
16:53Therefore came a great wrath from the Lord of hosts.
16:58Therefore it is come to pass, that as he cried, and they would not hear, so they cried, and I
17:04would not hear, saith the Lord of hosts.
17:07And I scattered them with a whirlwind among all the nations whom they knew not.
17:13Thus the land was desolate after them, that no man passed through nor returned, for they
17:19laid the pleasant land desolate.
17:24Chapter 8 Again the word of the Lord of hosts came
17:28to me, saying, Thus saith the Lord of hosts, I was jealous for Zion with great jealousy, and
17:34I was jealous for her with great fury.
17:38Thus saith the Lord, I am returned unto Zion, and will dwell in the midst of Jerusalem.
17:45And Jerusalem shall be called a city of truth, and the mountain of the Lord of hosts the holy
17:51mountain.
17:52Thus saith the Lord of hosts, There shall yet old men and old women dwell in the streets
17:58of Jerusalem, and every man with his staff in his hand for very age.
18:03And the streets of the city shall be full of boys and girls playing in the streets thereof.
18:09Thus saith the Lord of hosts, If it be marvelous in the eyes of the remnant of this people in
18:15these days, should it also be marvelous in mine eyes, saith the Lord of hosts.
18:21Thus saith the Lord of hosts, Behold, I will save my people from the east country and from
18:27the west country, and I will bring them, and they shall dwell in the midst of Jerusalem.
18:33And they shall be my people, and I will be their God in truth and in righteousness.
18:40Thus saith the Lord of hosts, Let your hands be strong, ye that hear in these days these
18:46words by the mouth of the prophets, which were in the day that the foundation of the house
18:52of the Lord of hosts was laid, that the temple might be built.
18:56For before these days there was no hire for man, nor any hire for beast.
19:02Neither was there any peace to him that went out or came in because of the affliction.
19:08For I set all men every one against his neighbor.
19:12But now I will not be unto the residue of this people as in the former days, saith the Lord
19:17of hosts.
19:19For the seed shall be prosperous, the vine shall give her fruit, and the ground shall give her
19:24increase, and the heavens shall give their dew, and I will cause the remnant of this people
19:30to possess all these things.
19:33And it shall come to pass, that as ye were a curse among the heathen, O house of Judah,
19:39and house of Israel, so will I save you, and ye shall be a blessing.
19:46Fear not, but let your hands be strong.
19:50For thus saith the Lord of hosts, As I thought to punish you when your fathers provoked me to
19:55wrath, saith the Lord of hosts, and I repented not, so again have I thought in these days to
20:03do well unto Jerusalem and to the house of Judah.
20:07Fear ye not.
20:09These are the things that ye shall do.
20:12Speak ye every man the truth to his neighbor.
20:15Execute the judgment of truth and peace in your gates.
20:19And let none of you imagine evil in your hearts against his neighbor.
20:24And love no false oath.
20:26For all these are things that I hate, saith the Lord.
20:31And the word of the Lord of hosts came unto me, saying, Thus saith the Lord of hosts, The
20:36fast of the fourth month, and the fast of the fifth, and the fast of the seventh, and
20:42the fast of the tenth, shall be to the house of Judah joy and gladness, and cheerful feasts.
20:50Therefore love the truth and peace.
20:55Thus saith the Lord of hosts, It shall yet come to pass, that there shall come people,
21:00and the inhabitants of many cities, and the inhabitants of one city shall go to another,
21:05saying, Let us go speedily to pray before the Lord, and to seek the Lord of hosts, I
21:13will go also.
21:15Yea, many people, and strong nations, shall come to seek the Lord of hosts in Jerusalem,
21:21and to pray before the Lord.
21:24Thus saith the Lord of hosts, In those days it shall come to pass, that ten men shall
21:29take hold out of all languages of the nations, even shall take hold of the skirt of him that
21:35is a Jew, saying, We will go with you, for we have heard that God is with you.
21:44Chapter 9.
21:46The burden of the word of the Lord in the land of Hedrach and Damascus shall be the rest thereof,
21:53when the eyes of men, as of all the tribes of Israel, shall be toward the Lord.
21:59And Hamath also shall border thereby, Tyrus and Zidon, though it be very wise.
22:06And Tyrus did build herself a stronghold, and heaped up silver as the dust, and fine gold
22:12as the mire of the streets.
22:14Behold, the Lord will cast her out, and he will smite her power in the sea, and she shall
22:20be devoured with fire.
22:23Ashkelon shall see it, and fear.
22:25Geza also shall see it, and be very sorrowful, and Ekron, for her expectation, shall be ashamed.
22:33And the king shall perish from Geza, and Ashkelon shall not be inhabited.
22:37And a bastard shall dwell in Ashgod, and I will cut off the pride of the Philistines.
22:44And I will take away his blood out of his mouth, and his abominations from between his teeth.
22:50But he that remaineth, even he, shall be for our God, and he shall be as a governor in Judah,
22:57and Ekrem as a Jebusite.
22:59And I will encamp about mine house because of the army, because of him that passeth by,
23:05and because of him that returneth.
23:08And no oppressor shall pass through them any more, for now have I seen with mine eyes.
23:15Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion!
23:17Behold, thy king cometh unto thee.
23:23He is just, and having salvation, lowly, and riding upon an ass, and upon a coat the
23:30fool of an ass.
23:32And I will cut off the chariot from Ephraim, and the horse from Jerusalem, and the battle
23:38bow shall be cut off.
23:40And he shall speak peace unto the heathen, and his dominion shall be from sea even to sea,
23:47and from the river even to the ends of the earth.
23:51As for thee also, by the blood of thy covenant I have sent forth thy prisoners out of the pit
23:57wherein is no water.
24:00Turn you to the stronghold, ye prisoners of hope!
24:04Even today do I declare that I will render double unto thee, when I have bent Judah for me, filled
24:12the bow with Ephraim, and raised up thy sons, O Zion, against thy sons, O Greece, and made
24:18thee as the sword of a mighty man.
24:22And the Lord shall be seen over them, and his arrows shall go forth as the lightning, and
24:27the Lord God shall blow the trumpet, and shall go with whirlwinds of the south.
24:33And the Lord of hosts shall defend them, and they shall devour and subdue with slingstones,
24:40and they shall drink and make a noise as through wine, and they shall be filled like bowls, and
24:46as the corners of the altar.
24:48And the Lord their God shall save them in that day as the flock of his people.
24:54For they shall be as the stones of a crown, lifted up as an ensign upon his land.
25:01For how great is his goodness, and how great is his beauty!
25:06Corn shall make the young men cheerful, and new wine the maids.
25:12Chapter 10 Ask ye of the Lord rain, and the time
25:17of the latter rain.
25:19So the Lord shall make bright clouds, and give them showers of rain to every one grass
25:26in the field.
25:28For the idols have spoken vanity, and the diviners have seen a lie, and have told false dreams.
25:36They comfort in vain.
25:39Therefore they went their way as a flock.
25:41They were troubled, because there was no shepherd.
25:46Mine anger was kindled against the shepherds, and I punished the goats.
25:51For the Lord of hosts hath visited his flock, the house of Judah, and hath made them as his
25:57goodly horse in the battle.
25:59Out of him came forth the corner, out of him the nail, out of him the battle-bow, out of
26:05him every oppressor together.
26:08And they shall be as mighty men, which tread down their enemies in the mire of the streets
26:14in the battle.
26:16And they shall fight, because the Lord is with them, and the riders on horses shall be confounded.
26:23And I will strengthen the house of Judah, and I will save the house of Joseph.
26:28And I will bring them again to place them.
26:31For I have mercy upon them.
26:33And they shall be as though I had not cast them off.
26:36For I am the Lord their God, and will hear them.
26:41And they of Ephraim shall be like a mighty man.
26:46And their heart shall rejoice as through wine, yea, their children shall see it and be glad.
26:52Their heart shall rejoice in the Lord.
26:55I will hiss for them, and gather them.
26:58For I have redeemed them, and they shall increase as they have increased.
27:04And I will sow them among the people, and they shall remember me in far countries, and they
27:09shall live with their children, and turn again.
27:13I will bring them again also out of the land of Egypt, and gather them out of Assyria.
27:19And I will bring them into the land of Gilead and Lebanon, and place shall not be found for
27:25them.
27:25And he shall pass through the sea with affliction, and shall smite the waves in the sea, and all
27:31the deeps of the rivers shall dry up, and the pride of Assyria shall be brought down,
27:36and the sceptre of Egypt shall depart away.
27:40And I will strengthen them in the Lord, and they shall walk up and down in his name, saith
27:45the Lord.
27:48Chapter 11 Open thy doors, O Lebanon, that the fire may
27:53devour thy cedars.
27:55Howl, O fir-tree, for the cedar is fallen, because the mighty are spoiled.
28:01Howl, O ye oaks of Bashan, for the forest of the vintages come down.
28:08There is a voice of the howling of the shepherds, for their glory is spoiled, a voice of the
28:14roaring of young lions, for the pride of Jordan is spoiled.
28:19Thus saith the Lord my God, feed the flock of the slaughter, whose possessors slay them,
28:25and hold themselves not guilty.
28:28And they that sell them say, Blessed be the Lord, for I am rich, and their own shepherds
28:35pity them not.
28:37For I will no more pity the inhabitants of the land, saith the Lord.
28:42But lo, I will deliver the men every one into his neighbour's hand, and into the hand of
28:47his king.
28:49And they shall smite the land, and out of their hand I will not deliver them.
28:54And I will feed the flock of slaughter, even you, O poor of the flock.
29:01And I took unto me two staves, the one I called Beauty, and the other I called Bands, and I
29:08fed the flock.
29:11Three shepherds also I cut off in one month, and my soul loathed them, and their soul also
29:18abhorred me.
29:20Then said I, I will not feed you.
29:23That that dieth, let it die.
29:26And that that is to be cut off, let it be cut off.
29:30And let the rest eat every one the flesh of another.
29:34And I took my staff, even Beauty, and cut it asunder, that I might break my covenant
29:40which I had made with all the people.
29:43But it was broken in that day, and so the poor of the flock that waited upon me knew
29:48that it was the word of the Lord.
29:51And I said unto them, If ye think good, give me my price, and if not, forbear.
29:59So they weighed for my price thirty pieces of silver.
30:03And the Lord said unto me, Cast it unto the potter, a goodly price that I was prized out
30:09of them.
30:10And I took the thirty pieces of silver, and cast them to the potter in the house of the
30:15Lord.
30:17Then I cut asunder mine other staff, even bands, that I might break the brotherhood between
30:23Judah and Israel.
30:25And the Lord said unto me, Take unto thee yet the instruments of a foolish shepherd.
30:30For lo, I will raise up a shepherd in the land, which shall not visit those that be cut off,
30:36neither shall seek the young one, nor heal that that is broken, nor feed that that standeth
30:42still.
30:44But he shall eat the flesh of the fat, and tear their claws in pieces.
30:49Woe to the idle shepherd that leaveth the flock!
30:53The sword shall be upon his arm, and upon his right eye.
30:58His arm shall be clean-dried up, and his right eye shall be utterly darkened.
31:06Chapter 12 The burden of the word of the Lord for
31:10Israel saith the Lord which stretcheth forth the heavens, and layeth the foundation of the
31:15earth, and formeth the spirit of man within him.
31:20Behold I will make Jerusalem a cup of trembling unto all the people round about, when they shall
31:25be in the siege both against Judah and against Jerusalem.
31:30And in that day will I make Jerusalem a burdensome stone for all people.
31:36All that burden themselves with it shall be cut in pieces, though all the people of the
31:41earth be gathered together against it.
31:44In that day saith the Lord, I will smite every horse with astonishment, and his rider with
31:50madness.
31:52And I will open mine eyes upon the house of Judah, and will smite every horse of the people
31:57with blindness.
31:59And the governors of Judah shall say in their heart, The inhabitants of Jerusalem shall be
32:04my strength in the Lord of hosts their God.
32:08In that day will I make the governors of Judah like an hearth of fire among the wood, and they
32:13a torch of fire in a sheaf.
32:16And they shall devour all the people round about, on the right hand and on the left.
32:21And Jerusalem shall be inhabited again in her own place, even in Jerusalem.
32:28And the Lord also shall save the tents of Judah first, that the glory of the house of David,
32:34and the glory of the inhabitants of Jerusalem, do not magnify themselves against Judah.
32:41In that day shall the Lord defend the inhabitants of Jerusalem, and he that is feeble among them
32:47at that day shall be as David.
32:50And the house of David shall be as God, as the angel of the Lord before them.
32:58And it shall come to pass in that day that I will seek to destroy all the nations that
33:03come against Jerusalem.
33:06And I will pour upon the house of David, and upon the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the spirit
33:12of grace and of supplications.
33:15And they shall look upon me whom they have pierced, and they shall mourn for him, as one mourneth
33:21for his only Son, and shall be in bitterness for him, as one that is in bitterness for his
33:28firstborn.
33:30In that day shall there be a great mourning in Jerusalem, as the mourning of Hadad-Raman
33:36in the valley of Megiddon.
33:39And the land shall mourn every family apart, the family of the house of David apart, and
33:45their wives apart, the family of the house of Nathan apart, and their wives apart, the
33:52family of the house of Levi apart, and their wives apart.
33:57The family of Shimei apart, and their wives apart, all the families that remain every
34:04family apart, and their wives apart.
34:10Chapter 13 In that day there shall be a fountain opened
34:14to the house of David, and to the inhabitants of Jerusalem, for sin and for uncleanness.
34:22And it shall come to pass in that day, saith the Lord of hosts, that I will cut off the
34:27names of the idols out of the land, and they shall no more be remembered.
34:33And also I will cause the prophets and the unclean spirit to pass out of the land.
34:39And it shall come to pass, that when any shall yet prophesy, then his father and his mother
34:45that begat him shall say unto him, Thou shalt not live, for thou speakest lies in the name
34:52of the Lord.
34:53And his father and his mother that begat him shall thrust him through when he prophesieth.
35:01And it shall come to pass in that day, that the prophets shall be ashamed every one of his
35:06vision, when he hath prophesied, Neither shall they wear a rough garment to deceive.
35:13But he shall say, I am no prophet, I am an husbandman, for man taught me to keep cattle
35:21from my youth.
35:22And one shall say unto him, What are these wounds in thine hands?
35:27Then he shall answer, Those with which I was wounded in the house of my friends.
35:33Awake, O sword, against my shepherd, and against the man that is my fellow, saith the Lord
35:39of hosts.
35:41Smite the shepherd, and the sheep shall be scattered, and I will turn mine hand upon the
35:46little ones.
35:48And it shall come to pass, that in all the land, saith the Lord, two parts therein shall
35:54be cut off and die, but the third shall be left therein.
35:59And I will bring the third part through the fire, and will refine them as silver is refined,
36:06and will try them as gold is tried.
36:09They shall call on my name, and I will hear them.
36:14I will say, It is my people, and they shall say, The Lord is my God.
36:2314 Behold, the day of the Lord cometh, and thy spoil shall be divided in the midst of thee.
36:32For I will gather all nations against Jerusalem to battle, and the city shall be taken, and
36:38the houses rifled, and the women ravished, and half of the city shall go forth into captivity,
36:45and the residue of the people shall not be cut off from the city.
36:50Then shall the Lord go forth and fight against those nations, as when he fought in the day
36:55of battle.
36:58And his feet shall stand in that day upon the Mount of Olives, which is before Jerusalem
37:02on the east.
37:04And the Mount of Olives shall cleave in the midst thereof toward the east and toward the
37:09west.
37:10And there shall be a very great valley.
37:13And half of the mountain shall remove toward the north, and half of it toward the south.
37:18And ye shall flee to the valley of the mountains, for the valley of the mountains shall reach
37:24unto Azel.
37:25Yea, ye shall flee like as ye fled from before the earthquake in the days of Uzziah king of
37:32Judah.
37:33And the Lord my God shall come, and all the saints with thee.
37:38And it shall come to pass in that day, that the light shall not be clear nor dark.
37:44But it shall be one day which shall be known to the Lord, not day nor night.
37:50But it shall come to pass, that at evening time it shall be light.
37:55And it shall be in that day that living waters shall go out from Jerusalem, half of them toward
38:02the former sea, and half of them toward the hinder sea.
38:07In summer and in winter shall it be.
38:10And the Lord shall be king over all the earth.
38:14In that day shall there be one Lord, and his name one.
38:20All the land shall be turned as a plain from Geba to Rimen, south of Jerusalem.
38:25And it shall be lifted up, and inhabited in her place, from Benjamin's gate unto the place
38:32of the first gate, unto the corner gate, and from the tower of Hananeo unto the king's
38:39winepresses.
38:41And men shall dwell in it.
38:43And there shall be no more utter destruction.
38:46But Jerusalem shall be safely inhabited.
38:49And this shall be the plague wherewith the Lord will smite all the people that have fought
38:54against Jerusalem.
38:56Their flesh shall consume away while they stand upon their feet.
39:00And their eyes shall consume away in their holds.
39:04And their tongues shall consume away in their mouth.
39:07And it shall come to pass in that day, that a great tumult from the Lord shall be among them.
39:14And they shall lay hold every one on the hand of his neighbor, and his hand shall rise
39:19up against the hand of his neighbor.
39:23And Judah also shall fight at Jerusalem, and the wealth of all the heathen round about
39:28shall be gathered together, gold and silver and apparel in great abundance.
39:35And so shall be the plague of the horse, of the mule, of the camel, and of the ass,
39:40and of all the beasts that shall be in these tents, as this plague.
39:46And it shall come to pass, that every one that is left of all the nations which came
39:50against Jerusalem shall even go up from year to year to worship the King, the Lord of hosts,
39:58and to keep the feast of tabernacles.
40:01And it shall be, that whoso will not come up of all the families of the earth unto Jerusalem
40:06to worship the King, the Lord of hosts, even upon them shall be no rain.
40:12And if the family of Egypt go not up, and come not, that have no rain, there shall be the
40:18plague wherewith the Lord will smite the heathen that come not up to keep the feast of tabernacles.
40:26This shall be the punishment of Egypt, and the punishment of all nations, that come not
40:31up to keep the feast of tabernacles.
40:35In that day shall there be upon the bells of the horses holiness unto the Lord.
40:41And the pots in the Lord's house shall be like the bowls before the altar.
40:47Yea, every pot in Jerusalem and in Judah shall be holiness unto the Lord of hosts.
40:54And all they that sacrifice shall come and take of them, and see therein.
40:59And in that day shall be no more the Canaanite and the house of the Lord of hosts.
