Border Czar Tom Homan responds to anti-ICE protests when speaking to reporters outside the White House.
Transcript
00:00Right now between ICE agents and anti-ICE protesters, the standoff happening on that farm.
00:06Look, I've said this from day one.
00:08They can protest all they want, but if they cross the line, they're going to be arrested
00:11and they're going to be prosecuted.
00:12There's zero tolerance.
00:14They have the First Amendment rights.
00:16I had 1,000 protesters at my house.
00:18Whatever.
00:19You're not going to stop me.
00:20I'm not going to shut up.
00:21I'm going to keep doing what I'm doing.
00:22But you can't cross that line.
00:23You have the right to protest.
00:24I support that.
00:25But if you cross the line on impeding us, you're going to be arrested.
00:28If you cross the line and put hands on an ICE officer, zero tolerance, you're going to be arrested.
00:33So yell and scream all you want.
00:34You're not going to stop ICE from doing our job.
00:37Mr. Herman, on the Birthright Citizenship Ruling, does the White House plan to file a special application
00:42to basically challenge the Birthright Citizenship Ruling and ask the Supreme Court to put it on its shadow docket perhaps
00:49so we can get to it quickly?
00:53I don't have specifics on that, so I don't want to answer because I may be wrong.
00:57Sir, thank you for all you're doing.
00:58Will you do the same thing that you're doing in Los Angeles and Springfield, Ohio?
01:02We're going to do it all across the country.
01:03The big, beautiful bill is going to give us 10,000 more officers.
01:06What people need to understand, we only have 5,000 deportation officers.
01:10We've got over 20 million illegal aliens in this country.
01:12So this bill is going to put more boots on the ground, put more teams on the street to look for the criminals
01:19and the public safety threats.
01:21This is going to allow us to do more work site investigations.
01:23It's going to hire more judges to hear these cases quicker.
01:26It's going to give us more beds and more transportation to deport people quicker and more efficient.
01:29You said 20 million or more illegal aliens.
01:31How many should we deport?
01:33Well, there's at least 20 million in this country.
01:34Look, we've been talking about 12 million for the last two decades.
01:37We know 10.5 million came to the border just under Joe Biden.
01:40And for those that say 3,000 a day is ridiculous, do the math.
01:44We'd have to arrest 7,000 every single day of this administration to the end just to remove those that Biden released in the country.
01:50Mr. Homan, is that in effect?
01:51What would you say that people would say that's in effect a national police force with the 10,000 new agents in the 7,000 million?
01:56Do you consider it that?
01:57No.
01:58With over 20 million illegal aliens, we've got less than 5,000 deportation officers.
02:02We're enforcing the law.
02:04And ICE has always been underfunded.
02:05Look, I love the Border Patrol.
02:07I started as a Border Patrol agent.
02:08They've been increasing their resources many times.
02:13ICE has never seen a resource like this.
02:14Let's remember, a lot of people, Border Patrol arrests come to ICE.
02:17They have to transport them, detain them, remove them.
02:20It's about time ICE got the numbers they need, especially now because we're cleaning up the mess of the last four years of an open border.
02:27So we need more enforcement resources to clean up the mess Joe Biden made, plus the ones that were here before them.
02:34And that's why, you know, if you look at the numbers, and the media is saying, oh, the majority of people ICE arresting aren't criminals.
02:39Well, they're not counting misdemeanors.
02:40They're not counting people who are pending charges.
02:42If we arrest a little alien in a county jail, I'm thinking he's not a choir boy.
02:46So, you know, they broke the law entering this country, and they committed another crime.
02:51They're going to be a priority of this administration.
02:54You got it.
02:54How would this administration actually implement birthright citizenship plan?
02:58How would that actually work?
02:59That's a question.
03:02I don't want to get that impression on that.
03:07Is there any chance that the administration could sue the judge who issued the class action injunction today?
03:14Look, it's another example of a radical judge not paying attention to the Supreme Court.
03:19The Supreme Court already answered this question.
03:22Now, he says he has a class.
03:24These radical judges aren't going to stop.
03:25They want to stop the Trump agenda.
03:27What they need to understand, the American people voted for this agenda, right?
03:31So, you know, the men and women of ICE are arresting public safety threats and national security threats every day across this country.
03:38Every illegal alien public safety threat they arrest makes this country safer.
03:43That should be a nonpartisan issue.
03:45And we're going to keep doing it, despite the hate, the rhetoric, the threats.
03:49We're not going anywhere.
03:50We're going to keep doing what we're doing.
03:52And with the new beautiful bill, we're going to do more.
03:54On the farm workers, just one more.
03:56Do you understand what President Trump means when he says the farm owners will have responsibility for the migrants who, I guess, get to stay even though they don't understand it?
04:03I can tell you that there's a lot of people talking in here.
04:08Department of Labor, Department of Agriculture, Department of Homeland Security, talking about options.
04:14Nothing's been settled.
04:16And I'm not going to get ahead of the president.
04:17Whatever the president decides is his decision.
04:20But we're nowhere near that.
04:21I can tell you one thing, though.
04:22One thing I'm reading in the media that's not true.
04:24There will be no amnesty.
04:26Thanks a lot.
04:27Thank you, Tom.
