00:00Strong start to a season was way back in 2014, a certain Mr. Shane Byrne, 11 long years ago.
00:06Actually, that was my first year working with James Hayden, and after all this time, James, I've still got him strong.
00:11Absolute pleasure.
00:12Yeah, good to be with you both.
00:13And it just goes to show, actually, James, that it is a rare thing in BSB to have one rider dominate so much so early in the season.
00:20Yeah, 100%, and you've got to say, Brad has just found that little bit something more,
00:25and it's actually quite ominous, a little bit scary for the other guys on the grid,
00:28because you look at the grid for this race, too.
00:30It's 0.6 quicker than Carl in second, 0.7 quicker than Tommy, 1.1 second quicker than the man in full four, he's Skinner.
00:37So he really has found something.
00:39With the rules the way they are, it's just the way he's riding it,
00:42and they're going to have to really try and get amongst him, try and break that rhythm,
00:45try and break that dominance, because the more he wins, the more he believes,
00:49and he's just becoming more and more imperious right now.
00:51So big job for those boys.
00:53For today, is it damage limitation for those riders, Shaky,
00:55or do they have to try and somehow disrupt Brad at the front?
00:59Well, for me, I think that they have to try and disrupt him at the front, don't they?
01:02The reality is, Brad's riding really good.
01:05You know, he's come back from two years in World Championship,
01:07and two years in World Championship doesn't make you any slower.
01:10You know, it only makes you faster.
01:11He's riding that bike so well.
01:13He feels so cool, calm, collected, under control.
01:16Like, he's riding with an element of reserve, if you like.
01:19So, you see him here in sector two.
01:21This is one of the sectors of the track at Stetson.
01:23He's been pretty much half a second clear of everybody.
01:26He's just in the zone.
01:27He's just hitting his marks and feeling great on the bike.
01:30And, you know, for his rivals now, you know, they've got to get amongst you.
01:34They've got to try and disrupt that rhythm.
01:36What is it exactly that he's doing through this sector two
01:38to be that much quicker than everyone else?
01:40He's just on point, isn't he?
01:41You know, he's enjoying riding his bike.
01:43He's having a lot of fun.
01:45Loves the Yamaha.
01:46Loves the raceway.
01:46His team.
01:47You know, Kyle Ride has an identical bike.
01:50Absolutely identical barring suspension.
01:52You know, they're both exactly the same.
01:53But for me, the guys can't keep thinking,
01:55well, do you know what?
01:57We're not going to do it here.
01:58Let's try it at Nokia.
01:59Well, we're not going to do it at Nokia.
02:00Let's try it at wherever.
02:02Because like James says,
02:03wins and wins and wins and wins build confidence,
02:05and confidence just makes you faster and faster.
02:07One man who will try and stop him if he gets the opportunity.
02:10We know this.
02:11It's Tommy Bridewell,
02:12and he's given himself a good opportunity today.
02:14Yeah, a bit of a slow start.
02:16Really struggled with this new Pirelli,
02:18according to Tommy,
02:19and they've had to adapt the bike quite a lot.
02:21Fantastic yesterday.
02:22He got his first podium of the year,
02:24and hopefully that's reinvigorated him.
02:25Because as you say,
02:26Tommy's there, thereabouts.
02:28He will have a go.
02:29And we need someone trying to sort of
02:31ruffle him up a little bit
02:32and just try to pull him back
02:33so fingers crossed he can get stuck in again today.
02:36Okay.
02:37First podium for Tommy yesterday then,
02:39so it should be full of confidence.
02:41We're going into today's action.
02:42Let's hear from him now.
02:44Tommy, we're here at Snetterton
02:46for round three of the 2025 championship.
02:49Probably not gone quite to plan for you.
02:51We were all expecting to see you come out of the blocks,
02:54guns blazing after a brilliant year last year.
02:56And if you look at the detail,
02:58you're still going as quick as last year.
03:00What is happening to everyone's ass going a bit faster?
03:03Yeah.
03:05It's, no, it's been a below par start to the season for us,
03:08for sure.
03:09Um, I think ultimately we did expect to be a lot stronger.
03:14Um, and why, why wouldn't we for, for definite after the end of the year we had last year
03:19was, was unbelievable.
03:20We really got the bike in a great area, in a great window.
03:24Um, and then the, not sprung upon us, but they bought a new tire in this year.
03:31Um, and I'm certainly not going to sit here in, in whinge because that's not me.
03:37Um, it's, it's certainly gave the Yamaha and the Ducati a bit of a step.
03:42Um, and strangely at the minute, it's not gave us anything.
03:46So it's down to, to me and down to Honda to understand what we're doing wrong.
03:53Cause that's the crux of it.
03:54We're doing something wrong that is not allowing us to use the new tire.
03:59My lap times are pretty much identical, if not faster than last year.
04:04My race times are faster than last year.
04:06Um, but at the minute everyone else is faster because of this new tire.
04:10So, uh, I dunno, honestly, it's, it's strange.
04:14I, sometimes I go through the emotions and I'm a bit frustrated.
04:17I expect to win the championship this year.
04:19I can see that that's becoming a tough task.
04:23Um, and if we don't get a handle on it quick, then it will soon be too late.
04:29Um, and then on the flip side, I'm being in Misano and being in Barcelona on some, uh, other tests with Honda, with the world stuff.
04:37Um, and feel amazing, you know, feel absolutely great and just have a smile on me face.
04:42So, there's some internal changes this weekend, um, which is going to be interesting for me to try and, uh, see if that will help for sure.
04:53Um, and just need to get a smile back on me face.
04:56You know, I'm so highly strung.
04:58I'm so highly strung that all I want to do is win.
05:00And I do not care who I upset.
05:02I do not care what it takes.
05:04Um, that's all I'm interested in.
05:07Well, that's what I'd be looking to do today after that podium yesterday.
05:10And obviously those internal changes that he was talking about before the start of the weekend seem to have had a good effect, Shane.
05:15Yeah, he's got a new, uh, got a new team.
05:17Uh, not all of the team.
05:18I think some of the team, the new crew chief especially.
05:20And that, for any rider, is the most important relationship between, you know, anybody in the garage.
05:25You know, you have to be able to get on with your, with your crew chief.
05:28And he spoke very highly of his old crew chief.
05:30He just said that, you know, they're working in different ways.
05:32You know, Tommy was wanting different things.
05:34And he hit the nail on the head.
05:36He described himself perfectly.
05:37He's like, he just shoots from the hip, doesn't he?
05:39He sort of talks first and then thinks after.
05:42And sometimes that doesn't always work.
05:43But, um, that's what makes us love him, you know.
05:46So, um, he's got a new crew chief.
05:48Um, put it on fourth on the grid.
05:50Got a podium yesterday and hoping to build on that today.
05:53He feeds off that emotion as well, doesn't he?
05:55Especially on a race there, James.
05:56He always seems to find something a little bit extra.
05:58Yeah, he's a racer.
06:00And, um, this is just where he needs.
06:02He's actually on the front, you know, right-hand side of the front row.
06:04So, if he can get a good launch this time, he's starting to believe a little bit.
06:07They've obviously made some changes which have worked.
06:09Because, you know, we know what Tommy can do.
06:12And he hasn't quite been able to do it.
06:13He's been off colour so far this season.
06:16Which has surprised us all.
06:17But you've heard him, you know, you heard what he said.
06:19He's got a new chief.
06:19They kind of mix things up.
06:21They're kind of, they're trying to give him what he needs, you know.
06:23But a lot of it's here.
06:24Yeah.
06:25And I think that that is something that looks like he's back.
06:28He's, like, got a bit more of his walk, you know, in his steps.
06:30So, fingers crossed.
06:32Do you know what the fundamental problem is for me?
06:33The goalposts have been moved.
06:35Lap time has been moved.
06:37Brad's come back.
06:38Everybody else is doing the same sort of job.
06:39Which would have put him a little bit closer to the front.
06:41And at the moment, they're like, oh, my God.
06:43What do we do here?
06:43Do you know what I mean?
06:44Right.
06:44How do I fix this?
06:45How do I get to that next level?
06:46But that's the issue for me.
06:48Yeah.
06:48Okay.
06:50Another guy who would have expected, and we would have all expected, to be pushing Brad
06:54today would have been Glenn Irwin.
06:56Unfortunately, he's not with us today, James.
06:59A real shame.
07:00Yeah, absolutely.
07:01If you look here, it's about the third bike just coming through now.
07:03It's a really late, vicious high side.
07:07Second gear, lands badly.
07:09He's, you know, really knocked himself about.
07:12I'll let him explain his injuries in a sec.
07:14But we're absolutely all gutted here.
07:16Because, you know, Glenn is someone that will take the fight.
07:19You know, he's all emotion.
07:21He rides it with a broken pelvis.
07:23And, you know, he's very bashed around.
07:27And that is his championship done, which is an absolute gutter.
07:31I just wish him, you know, a speedy recovery.
07:34Yeah, absolutely.
07:35He's in Norfolk and Norwich Hospital at the moment.
07:37I know he's watching as well, so Glenn, from all of us here, wish you a speedy recovery.
07:42He was quite lucky, though, actually, Sheiky, in some respects as well.
07:45Do you know what?
07:46I think that you have to look at it with a glass half full kind of attitude, you know?
07:50Because I don't know if you noticed in the clip that we just showed you
07:53that basically Glenn had his high side.
07:56Yes, he's come down.
07:57And, yes, he's smashed his sacrum.
07:58Yes, he's done his pelvis.
07:59And, yes, that's super unlucky.
08:01Yes, he was one of the people that could potentially take a championship fight to Bradley Ray.
08:05However, if you look at the end of that clip,
08:08Glenn ended up so, so, so close to being run over by his brother Andrew.
08:12And if that would have happened, we could have been talking about a whole different ballgame.
08:16Well, as I said, he is in the hospital at the moment.
08:19He was there overnight.
08:20And he had this special message for fans on his Instagram account.
08:24Everybody, I just wanted to make a post to first of all thank you for all the messages
08:29from writers, fans, sponsors, marshals.
08:33The list goes on.
08:35I'm really, really grateful for all my well wishes.
08:38I'm happy to share with everyone where we are.
08:45So, I've kind of smashed my sacrum.
08:51It's in lots of little pieces.
08:54But they're all quite close together.
08:56So, it may actually not need surgery.
08:58But then, obviously, if you return into racing, sometimes we get treated, I'm not saying better, but a different approach.
09:08So, maybe we have a surgery.
09:09I have another fracture in my pelvis, where the hip socket goes into.
09:18It's the only injuries I have.
09:19I'm very, very grateful.
09:23Obviously, you've seen Andrew was very close to me and also Rory.
09:27When I crashed, the guys couldn't see me with the clad of dust.
09:30So, neurologically, everything's okay.
09:35They've tested all that.
09:36It's just a lot of nerves go through the sacrum.
09:39So, they're very irritated and I'm very weak.
09:42I have a lovely window beside me that I can look out.
09:51I have Discovery Plus.
09:54So, I'm going to watch MotoGP.
09:56I'm ready Superbikes all day tomorrow.
09:58So, there is, that's the most full update.
10:04I've just had Andrew, Scott Swan, Simon Reid and my sister Sarah visit.
10:09Chris McLaurin, Ryan Reney and Frank Bird have been in the hospital most of the day.
10:14So, I end by apologising to the team because we've ruined our championship challenge for sure.
10:21We will be missing for a little while.
10:22But, in true Glenn's spirit, we're resilient.
10:29We're determined.
10:30We will be back.
10:31And the goal is what the goal has always been.
10:34And that's to lift the brace for the bike championship.
10:37Thanks for all the support.
10:38I'll keep you updated.
10:40I don't have a YouTube channel.
10:41So, I just use a wish for me, dear.
10:47Glenn, as I said, best of luck.
10:50We're looking forward to seeing you back here.
10:51We're all missing you today.
10:53In Glenn's absence, one rider who could potentially make a challenge now today for the podium is Rory Skinner.
10:58He's been starting to get to grips with that Ducati over the opening two rounds of the season.
11:03James, he was unfortunate yesterday to have a mechanical.
11:05Yeah, I mean, here he is.
11:07He's been riding really well.
11:08Looks great on the bike.
11:09You know, the team are giving him what he likes.
11:11And he's, you know, take a little bit of adapting to the Ducati's.
11:14And he really looks like he's getting there.
11:16Unfortunately, he had a bit of a problem with his bike yesterday.
11:21Retired out of fourth.
11:22But, as we can see here, really good to see him there.
11:24And, you know, there's no reason why he shouldn't be pushing for that podium.
11:28Yep, absolutely.
11:29All right, well, not too long till we find out if he can, because Bennett's BSB race two of the weekend.
11:35It's a sprint race, and it's coming up in just a few minutes' time.
11:38We've got racing throughout the afternoon for you with the Talent Cup.
11:41A single race here this weekend for the Super Storks.
11:44Super Sports before BSB race three at half past four this afternoon.
11:49And we'll finish up with the super teams.
11:52Well, as you can see, the grid has now formed here at Snet.
11:55So let's get out there and join James Whitton.
11:57James Morris, I'm back on row three.
11:58He seems a little bit unfair, actually, because this man, Christian Hiddin, had a fine fifth yesterday.
12:03I thought he rode really well.
12:04I thought you were, what's the word, harsh at times.
12:08Big overtaking moves at Coram's, but it had to be done and a good ride, mate.
12:12Yeah, definitely.
12:12I don't like, I like making those moves, but I don't want to be having to try and make those moves.
12:17But it's just by nature of where we're strong and weak.
12:19So it kind of forced my hand a little bit into those sort of things.
12:22And I made a hard race myself, so I got a mint start and then made a mistake at turn four on the first lap
12:27and just lost a couple of places that I think, if I'd been a bit further forward,
12:30maybe I could have made the break and had a little bit of fight.
12:33Certainly not for the front two, but, yeah, maybe for Rory, perhaps.
12:36So I feel really good on the bike.
12:38You know, from the first lap on Friday, I felt really good on the bike.
12:41And that's obviously translated.
12:44This is not an ideal starting grid position for us in ninth.
12:47But if I can get a good start and try and get in the mix in this sprint race, then it should be good fun.
12:51Good luck.
12:52Thank you, mate.
12:53Well, you know what I think?
12:54I think it's the colour of the bike.
12:55That's what I think.
12:56You're keeping this.
12:57Yeah, well, I've got the Banana Man lid on the go.
13:02And, yeah, Eric Wimp is my little...
13:04Good luck, Griesian, lad.
13:06Cheers.
13:07Yeah, the yellow colour's working for you.
13:09I thought fifth was really good.
13:10His team-mate also ran in that bunch as well.
13:12That's Max Cook.
13:13He's up here.
13:14We're looking across to Leon Haslam.
13:15Had a lovely run to fourth.
13:17But, again, he's starting from the third row, which seems a little bit unfair, to be honest.
13:22But he goes off lap time.
13:23So, right, we're going to go forward.
13:26Come on, Ash, stay with it.
13:29Max Cook, again, had a cracking ride right in the bunch yesterday.
13:32Well done, Max.
13:33And we're going to have to have a word with this man.
13:35There's been a lot I've said.
13:35We've interviewed him a couple of times this weekend already.
13:40Storm, right, you might not like this, but I'm going to tell you what I think.
13:43You are riding that so hard, and that's probably making the bike do things that it looks not out of control,
13:50but certainly lively.
13:51Is that how you're riding it, or is that the bike?
13:52If I want to ride it smooth, how Snetterton should be, I'm doing 49s all day.
13:58If I want to ride the thing fast, it's got to be out of shape.
14:02It's like going on the grass yesterday.
14:05I watched the race back.
14:06Obviously, you saw it most laps.
14:08I'm not doing it.
14:09The bike's just trying to...
14:10I'm just trying to keep the thing on the track and get it around the track.
14:13So, what do you need?
14:15More time on it?
14:16No, there isn't an answer for it.
14:17There isn't an answer for it.
14:18There's a possible swing arm we can try for knock hill,
14:21but I can't put a finger on it because I watch it,
14:25and I still don't even know what it is we need,
14:27but it is what it is.
14:28At the end of the day, all you can do is...
14:30You can't moan about it.
14:31You've just got to get on with it.
14:32If it's hard, well, I need to train harder then, don't I?
14:34Get on with it.
14:35Good luck, Storm.
14:36Spot on.
14:36Cheers.
14:37Yeah, he was riding really hard.
14:39Sometimes you ride hard, and you override, and that makes you go slower.
14:43Sometimes if you ride less hard, you go slower,
14:45so you've got to keep riding hard.
14:47I got what he meant.
14:48Right, where are we?
14:49Where is he about?
14:53No, no, he's all right.
14:54We'll come back.
14:55So we'll come back to Tommy Bradwell with a chance,
14:57so middle of the front row.
14:59Kyle Rye.
15:00Kyle, great ride yesterday, I thought.
15:02I thought you stuck with Brad as long as you could.
15:03I don't think even you expected to stay with him till the end.
15:06He had a little bit more pace,
15:07but it dragged you away from everybody else.
15:09Lonely race, but I think good result, mate.
15:11Yeah, the middle part of the race was just my race.
15:14I did what I could do.
15:15I gave it a good shot at the start to try and put a bit of pressure on Brad,
15:17but be all and end all, all weekend has been really fast.
15:20And, yeah, it's something I'm trying to figure out.
15:23When I followed him, I learned a few bits.
15:25I've got to give it a good shot this first race, but it's difficult.
15:28Well, as always, I had made your honesty when you said,
15:31I tried to follow him and learn a bit of something.
15:32Don't think I learned much.
15:33Yeah, it was just the middle sector, really.
15:36He's got a bit of advantage, not just on me, but on everyone.
15:39So me being on the same bike as him, I'm trying to learn best I can.
15:43But sometimes some people are better at other things than I am,
15:46and you've got to accept.
15:47One of the things yesterday, the track temperature was up nearly 50.
15:50It's a bit less today with the breeze.
15:52Now, that makes everything feel a bit greasy,
15:54not so much dangerous, just moving around.
15:56Difficult to sit on your own with nobody behind and nobody close in front
16:00because you've nothing to gauge off.
16:01Was that the case?
16:03Yeah, yesterday was difficult.
16:04It was red hot.
16:05I gave it three solid fast laps, had a few moments,
16:09and then did my own race from there.
16:10Steady second, only lost two points to Brad.
16:13So, yeah, I'll give it a good shot in this sprint race,
16:14see where we end up, and hopefully we get a bit closer.
16:17Hello, mate.
16:17Cheers, mate.
16:18Right, about a minute left, so we're going to have to get across.
16:21Although Tommy is back at his bike, I think he went for a comfort break.
16:24Many of them do on the grid.
16:26It's the nerves here, you know.
16:28But we've got to get across this man because he's been exceptional all weekend,
16:32is the honest truth.
16:34So, Brad, 45 seconds left on this,
16:37so you don't like to talk on the grid anywhere we're going to make.
16:39Yeah, what a good ride.
16:41It was kind of obvious that was going to, not going to happen,
16:44anything could go wrong, but that was a possibility,
16:47and you made it, you played it out perfect.
16:49Yeah, it was good.
16:49I got a good start, put some quick laps in at the start of the race to pull a gap,
16:53but I had good pace anyway in the race, so it was nice.
16:57I think today's going to be a bit more tricky.
16:59The wind's up, and the gusts are quite big,
17:01so that's going to be a bit of an unknown,
17:03but we'll just do our own race and see where we are.
17:07Good luck, man.
17:08Cheers, mate.
17:08Yeah, good point.
17:09I was going to mention the wind.
17:10It's straight in the face, down the start and finish.
17:12That means he can break later into turn one,
17:14but it's right behind him going down the long straight.
17:16That's going to make it trickier into the chicane at the end of the straight.
17:22Thanks, James.
17:23Yep, a fascinating prospect ahead then here at Snetterton.
17:26It's round three of the Bennett's British Superbike Championship.
17:29Brad Ray, very much the man to beat from pole position.
17:32Can anybody do it?
17:33We'll find out in a couple of minutes.
18:05It's another beautiful day in sunny Norfolk.
18:27Round three of Bennett's BSB for 2025.
18:32Can anyone stop Brad Ray?
18:34That is the tale of the tape so far this season in British Superbikes.
18:39He has been unstoppable in all but one of the races so far this year.
18:43Leon Haslam, the only man to have stopped him back at Alton Park.
18:47We wish all the best to Glenn Irwin in his recovery.
18:51We hope to have him back in the saddle soon,
18:54but this is how it looks in the championship after yesterday.
18:5722 up for Brad Ray over his former teammate Kyle Rye.
19:00Leon Haslam's third in the championship.
19:02Glenn Irwin, of course, absent, drops to fourth.
19:05Brooks is fifth.
19:06Skinner, sixth.
19:06And Tommy Bridewell, with his first podium yesterday,
19:09goes into seventh ahead of Danny Kent.
19:12This, of course, is a sprint race.
19:15It's 12 laps long as opposed to yesterday's 16.
19:17Ray on pole with an all-time lap record of a 46.583 ahead of Bride.
19:22And Tommy Bridewell, who starts on that front row.
19:25Skinner, Stacey and Cook, fourth, fifth and sixth.
19:29They're going to have to get their gloves off early
19:30if they want to get their teeth sunk into Brad Ray.
19:33Nesbitt starts seventh ahead of Haslam and Christian Idden.
19:37Interesting what Brad just said on the grid,
19:39and you just backed that up about the wins.
19:41Where is that going to be potentially tricky, James?
19:43Well, it's not going to be, I think, that tricky,
19:45but it will have an effect on how you've got to ride.
19:48So it's right in their face, up the start and finish rate,
19:50which means into Rich's the first turn.
19:53They're going to get a little bit of help in braking,
19:55which means you can allow for that and brake a little bit later.
19:57It'll also help them turn into the corner,
19:59but there's other corners that it will stop them dropping in just as quick.
20:02They've got to allow for that,
20:03but I think most importantly, down the back straight,
20:06they've got a fair tailwind,
20:08and that tends to push them into the corner
20:09if they don't allow and put their braking marker a little bit before it would be.
20:15So you could see people running a little bit...
20:18A bit overcooking to run down.
20:19Yeah, exactly, yeah.
20:20But they'll allow for that,
20:21and you just get used to doing that as well.
20:23And quite clearly, the only way it seems like on paper at the moment
20:26they're going to beat Brad Ray is to really get stuck in early on.
20:28Yeah, yeah, and be quiet.
20:30And even then, it's a big ask.
20:31It's not so easy to go and rough somebody up
20:34who can do the best part of a second quicker than you will have times, you know?
20:38So, but yeah, the only hope for them is that he doesn't quite make the start that he made yesterday.
20:44Let's see. It is BSB after all, and we've seen some funny tales over the years.
20:47He's won five of the first six. He starts from pole.
20:50You can see the gust of wind there.
20:52Yeah.
20:52With the red flag being held up at the front.
20:5512 laps coming up then around this 2.96 mile Snetterton 300 circuit.
21:02A lovely day. Good to see plenty of fans in.
21:04Who's going to get their hands on the winner's trophy after this?
21:07It is the Quattro Group race of aces here this weekend.
21:10Ray on pole.
21:11Right second.
21:12Brightwell third.
21:13And away they go.
21:15And another rocket start for Brad Ray on pole position
21:18as they get away now towards Ritchie's turn one.
21:21He's got the whole shot ahead of Kyle Rye.
21:22Good start there, Brad.
21:23Oh, I was going to say from Storm Stacey, he's lucky to stay on there.
21:27I tell you what, that was very lucky.
21:28That was Storm Stacey and Rory Skinner up the inside.
21:31Oh, Ray, he's gone too deep.
21:33Yeah, he couldn't stop that, couldn't, Kyle?
21:36No way.
21:37A few people sitting up there.
21:39Yeah, into turn one with Storm and with Rory,
21:43that was potentially a disaster,
21:44that front wheel into a back wheel doesn't normally work.
21:48Kyle Rye there.
21:49Credit to him.
21:50He had a nibble into turn two, but it did not work out.
21:54That's just going to give Ray a bit of breathing space.
21:55That's what we're saying.
21:57He's wide again.
21:58Yeah, I think Kyle's pushing on,
22:01and again, that's where you were going to get pushed on by the wind if you were.
22:04So, Ray, on the race race, Yamaha leads from Rory Skinner now on the Cheshire Mouldings to Cathy with some clear air.
22:11What can he do ahead of Kyle Rye now?
22:14Dropped out of the race yesterday with a mechanical.
22:16Tommy Rye was in fourth.
22:17That's Max Cook, who's just behind as well.
22:20Number 30.
22:21This is Blaise Baker towards the rear end.
22:23So, good start for Max Cook, the yellow and black Karasaki, then Nesbitt in behind him.
22:27Kyle's got to be careful here.
22:28He's got a good slipstream, a tailwind,
22:29and this is where you're going to run if you are,
22:31where this is going to, the wind's going to shove you right in.
22:34No problem.
22:36Through Brundle and Nelson Corner up towards the bomb hole now on this opening lap.
22:43Brad Ray already building himself a nice advantage out front.
22:47It's Skinner here, number 11, in second.
22:50Skinner looks good.
22:51We didn't quite get to see what he could have done yesterday.
22:55Had a slight mechanical, I think, electrical problem.
22:58But, yeah, with a bit of luck, keeps going.
22:59Looks good, doesn't it?
23:00He does.
23:00He does look good.
23:01He took a lovely wide sweeping right around Corham.
23:03There was a big chunk of grass and dirt kicked up there from Kyle Rye
23:06on the exit of Murray's onto the start-finish straight.
23:07Kyle's rushing a little bit.
23:08It's not like him.
23:09No, just panicking maybe and trying to get stuck in too soon.
23:12Yep.
23:13Not quite in his rhythm as yet.
23:17Breaking now down in towards Wilson Corner.
23:19Ooh, it's getting...
23:20Yeah, a load of dust, yeah.
23:25Track temperature a little bit down, probably eight degrees down.
23:29That's going to be a lot better for the riders.
23:30The tyres won't just feel as greasy.
23:33There'll be a little bit less movement.
23:34That'll give them a little bit more confidence to make a move
23:36if they need to.
23:38So over the line, there was 7 tenths between Ray and Skinner.
23:41This is Nesbitt, number 86.
23:43He's in sixth, ahead of Max Cook, number 30.
23:45Storm Stacey.
23:47Wide from Nesbitt there.
23:48And I think he...
23:49What did he suck wide with him?
23:50I think that was...
23:51Yeah, it was Cook, wasn't it?
23:52Yeah, I think so, yeah.
23:53Leon Haslam also didn't get off to the best of starts from eighth on the grid.
23:56He's dropped down to tenth.
23:57So work to do for Haslam, who's not been out of the top six so far all season long.
24:02Tommy Bridewell, back on the podium for the first time, which was good to see yesterday.
24:07For everybody.
24:09Yeah.
24:09Have a look at this start again.
24:11Brad Ray got a perfect start.
24:12But keep an eye here.
24:13Another 79 Storm Stacey and Skinner.
24:15Yeah.
24:16Skinner comes...
24:16I mean, Storm did really well there.
24:19He knew he was coming.
24:20He knew he couldn't get his wheel in front and have Skinner know where he was and give him
24:25room.
24:26So he did well to get out of that.
24:27This is the running wide of...
24:30He got sucked in a little bit, didn't he?
24:32I think he knew.
24:32He kind of aims for the inside, which tells me that he knew he was going a little bit
24:38wide.
24:39He almost looked like, if he'd tried to continue, he might have even made contact with Brad.
24:43That's what I thought.
24:44He ducked out to the inside because he would have made contact.
24:46Yeah.
24:46Another fine lap from Bradley Ray out front, though.
24:49Look at the gap he's opened up ahead of Rulish Skinner, number 11, and Kyle Ride over
24:52the line of 46.9 on your second lap of the race.
24:57Absolutely flying out front.
24:59Skinner then in second with Ride, now chasing him down.
25:03Right, good corner speed through Richie's, and he's going to make the move, as he and
25:06Wilson.
25:07No, not quite this time.
25:15Throw it left now through Parma Corner.
25:18It's Yamaha out front from Ducati, from Yamaha Honda.
25:23Yeah, this is the newer part of the track.
25:25I've ridden this quite a lot on track days, never raced it.
25:27A little bit more camber than there is on the older part of the track that's basically
25:31just built over a Second World War airfield, which tends to be really flat.
25:36Credit to Christian Hiddin.
25:37You said to him on the grid that he had a good day yesterday.
25:38He did.
25:39He had to barge his way through a few people, but he's just there looking.
25:42Fifth place.
25:42That's a good start from Christian.
25:44He's having a good weekend.
25:45He is.
25:45Yeah.
25:45Only two Kawasaki's on the grid.
25:49He did say yesterday it's going to be a bit of a testing weekend for them, but it's working
25:54out well.
25:55Yeah, he said they were just throwing this weekend away, and it's going to be just a test,
25:58but actually they're getting better results.
26:00They've been getting real.
26:01Test over here.
26:02Yeah.
26:03Leon Haslam there, you can just see, just struggling a little bit.
26:06The team bosses on the left of the riders, second, third, and fourth.
26:11Tommy Bridewell there on the Honda.
26:13This would be, in general, just a really positive weekend for Honda, for Tommy, to take into
26:20the rest of the season.
26:21Yeah, made a lot of changes.
26:22Tommy tends not to kind of muck about when it comes to wanting to make change.
26:27Having to go around the outside.
26:28It's a long way around, but if you can get yourself level.
26:30That was nice.
26:31That's about as clean as you can expect that move to be.
26:35It's the obvious move there, if you can run them.
26:37Not easy to do, though.
26:38It's not easy to do.
26:39Around the outside, it comes.
26:40It isn't easy when you're talking about going around the outside.
26:42Of somebody like Kyle Wright.
26:44Oh, and Kyle Wright battled back on the start, finish straight, and then left it late to
26:47break into Richie's corner.
26:49Yeah, the problem there for Tommy was that, by default, going up the inside of somebody
26:53into Murray's chicane, you're not going to drag the speed on to the start and finish there.
26:59Brad Ray again, a 46.9 from him, a 47.7 from Skinner.
27:04He's just too good for them at the moment.
27:06Yeah.
27:07Short to raise this one.
27:09Laps 4 of 12.
27:10Tire life shouldn't really come into play.
27:13This would be a solid result, though, for Skinner.
27:15Felt really sorry for him yesterday.
27:16Me too.
27:17I was just going to say, before you said that, I thought this is good from Skinner.
27:20New to the back, new to the team, very different kind of bike, the way it works, the way it
27:24needs setting up.
27:25Brand new bike to Rory, and he's not making any mistakes.
27:29This is good.
27:29Ultimately, Brad Ray out front.
27:34He's just been phenomenal so far.
27:37He's looking through the record books we said earlier on as we watch this move here from
27:41Tommy.
27:42Yeah, to go around the outside of somebody and carry about five or six miles an hour more
27:45than the reigning British champion.
27:47Not so easy.
27:49But you can see how he's suffered going on at the start and finish, which is what?
27:52Nothing wrong with the speed of Tommy's bike.
27:55It's just he didn't get out of the chicane as quick as what Kyle did.
27:58So it is Ray from Skinner at the moment.
28:06Tommy Bride, well, in third place.
28:09And then he's made a game.
28:09He was again.
28:10Sorry, he's in trying for third place.
28:12He had a look there.
28:13He did, but Kyle again making one or two mistakes there.
28:17Very unlike him.
28:18Christian Hiddin.
28:19He's sneaking up on this group.
28:20Creeping closer.
28:21Yes, he is.
28:22I've noticed that.
28:23Banana man's on his way, isn't he?
28:24Behind Christian Hiddin, you've got Charlie Nesbitt and Max Cook,
28:29both riders in their second seasons of British Superbikes.
28:34There they are.
28:34There is number 86 and 30.
28:36And Josh Brooks up behind, who came on strong late on in yesterday's race.
28:40Leon Haslam not in a place where he'd want to be, you would suspect.
28:43And Storm Stacey just starting to drop down the field.
28:46He's in 10th ahead of Rodgers.
28:47Danny Kent struggles continuing, James.
28:49They just can't get things right in McCam's yard.
28:51No, they can't.
28:52And the way he went last year, got his first BSB.
28:54Wayne, he looked competitive everywhere.
28:56Had the fastest last three or four places, did Danny.
28:59I think they are one of the teams, one of the two or three teams,
29:02that's really struggled to get their head around the different levels of grip
29:07and the way this different tyre they've all got to run on the rear is working.
29:11And that can happen.
29:13Flames popping out of the back of the exhaust there.
29:14Storm Stacey is currently in 10th place.
29:17Fraser Rogers on the tag.
29:18Honda is 11th.
29:20And it's Kent.
29:20Lee Jackson, 13th.
29:22McPhee, 14th.
29:23And Hedger in 15th.
29:24But this fight here, this is Nesbitt and Cook.
29:28Charlie Nesbitt and Max Cook, they've known each other for years.
29:31Well, they've grown up in the same town and were racing minibikes from the age of about five or six.
29:36Not together, not the same family, obviously, but on the track together.
29:39Know each other really well.
29:41Like each other a lot.
29:41And it's a very friendly but intense rivalry, yeah.
29:45It is.
29:45And that's a nice move for a cook up the inside of Nesbitt.
29:48They raced each other at super team level as well.
29:50I remember that very well.
29:50All the way through.
29:51Yeah.
29:52A little bit like Kyle Ride and Brad Ray.
29:54Yeah.
29:54Very similar, actually.
29:55Yeah.
29:56Very similar.
29:56Charlie still living down in Swindon.
30:04Max is up in the Midlands now.
30:05Rory Skinner just on that last lap quickly, James.
30:09Put in his personal best lap, a 47.2.
30:12Yeah.
30:12Really good from him.
30:14Over the line from Ray, a 47.6.
30:18Matched by Rory Skinner, who's actually just started to break away a bit here from Kyle Ride and Tommy Bradwell.
30:22I think he's just been a little bit more consistent and not been in any mistakes.
30:27We said yesterday, James, that the last ride or two of one, five out of the opening six, was Shaky Bird in 2014.
30:35That's 11 years ago.
30:37You have to go a bit further back to find the last rider to win the first six out of seven.
30:43Any ideas?
30:45No.
30:46It was you.
30:47Was it?
30:47In 1993.
30:49God.
30:49Must be us.
30:501993.
30:51Only 32 years ago.
30:52That can't have been, I'd have been four.
30:58If you get a chance, anybody who's ridden a bike, I'm assuming or thinking, a few people watching have ridden motorcycles on the road.
31:04And you expect and feel safest when the wheels are connected to the ground and not moving around on whatever surface you're on.
31:14Just, it's really good here at Snetter to see just how much these things are moving around.
31:19The front end is moving as you turn into the corners.
31:22You can't see much of that.
31:23But when they break it, just look how much the rear ends are wagging about and then coming out the corners with the throttle open, same again.
31:30It's a really weird feel when you first feel it, but you have to get used to it, especially now at this level on the bigger bikes.
31:35This has to be kind of natural.
31:36Yeah, you just think about, it's a great corner as it is, but Coram Curve, for example, if that had some positive camber, what a corner that would be.
31:44It'd be like Wall of Death.
31:47He's having another goal.
31:48He's having another goal.
31:49And that is a Wall of Death line.
31:51Right, going on to the start, finish back to start lap 7, off 12.
31:55Did Tommy Bridewell make it through?
31:56No, not on this occasion.
32:00Still a background there.
32:01Nesbit and Cook look like they're starting to really need it.
32:03He's not been able to bring anything to the third and fourth place fight.
32:07Another 47.6 from Skinner, matched by Bridewell and Ride.
32:13The old circuit, of course, used to be known as Sears, and would just head straight down the Bentley Strait.
32:29Yep, that's it.
32:30In fact, before my time, even if that is possible to imagine, there used to be the Norwich Strait that ran along one of the old runways, parallel with the A11.
32:41And did a mile out into the countryside and a mile back.
32:45So, yeah, it's always been a fast circuit, Asnet.
32:52Yeah, he did drop right off, eh?
32:54Yeah.
32:54Yeah.
32:55And there's quite a queue of riders ready to pick him off here.
32:59Two very experienced men there.
33:01Leon Haslam and Josh Brooks.
33:04Currently in eighth and ninth place.
33:06In terms of the championship, they're also sitting in third and fifth, respectively.
33:11As things stand right now, Brad Ray set to increase his advantage in the championship by another four points.
33:19That would take him to 26 ahead going into the third and final race of the weekend this afternoon.
33:26Seen this weekend, James, a lot of riders.
33:28It's not just there on the exit of Nelson, but it's a number of corners where a lot of grass has been kicked up.
33:33Yeah, you're trying to nick every little bit you can.
33:37A lot of circuits these days have green painted areas on the outside of the sort of red and white, red, white and blue, wherever your normal curvings are painted.
33:48And there's penalties for going on that.
33:50But actually, you're still telling it, even when there isn't any of that, and it's just normal, good old-fashioned grass and dust.
33:56You're still trying to nick everything you can.
33:58There is hidden, number 21, ahead of Nesbitt and Cook.
34:02Haslam, Brooks, that's Stacey, number 89.
34:05Tackle under there is Rodgers, ahead of Lee Jackson.
34:08I just started to close in on Rory Skinner now.
34:10I think Rory's made a mistake.
34:12Let's have a look at his lap time.
34:14Yeah.
34:15There you go, look.
34:16It was about half a second off.
34:20Into the 48 spin.
34:22So that's a mistake from Rory.
34:25I think he'll have run on somewhere.
34:27Going to come under intense pressure here from the two most recent champions.
34:31The reigning champ, Kyle Hyde.
34:33The 2023 champion, Tommy Bridewell.
34:35If Rory wants to hold on to a podium place.
34:39Map 8 of 12.
34:40So still some time left here for things to change.
34:42I think it'd be unfair if Rory didn't go on this weekend with a podium for himself.
34:47The effort he's put in, the strides he's made and the team's made for that bike.
34:51It's good to see because he's such a nice lad and he tries so hard and he's had a lot of bad luck.
34:55He's had a lot of bad luck.
34:56He's always pleasant though.
34:58Never seems to blame bad luck or anything.
35:01He just gets on with it.
35:01No, he is such a calm and cool character.
35:05Doesn't look flustered often.
35:07And even yesterday with a mechanical to subscribe to his shoulders and got on with it.
35:10Nothing you could do.
35:11No, it's a fair warm and long walk back as well.
35:14Bit of a warning there for Tommy Bridewell.
35:16Just on the exit of Nelson Corner.
35:21Sort of sat him up slightly.
35:23Yeah.
35:23That was only a fairly little slide.
35:26But what we have seen over the weekend, the track temperature being such that these little slides have an habit of being turned into something worse.
35:35As we've seen with Glenn Irwin.
35:38That wasn't even a sort of, it wasn't a, the way that high side started didn't look that big and normally would have collected it.
35:45But there isn't the levels of grip or there isn't the predictable grip when the track's this hot.
35:50And that's what caught him out to a lad.
35:51It's breaking now into Wilson again.
35:56Just going to recover and regroup well on that last lap.
35:59Iden, though, is going to have to do some defensive work in the closing stages.
36:02There's the AGN Steelstock Kawasaki rider, of course, the FS3 team.
36:08They'd have been delighted with that fifth place yesterday.
36:10The one-off colour scheme for Christian Hiddin.
36:14And that's down to the fact that Alan Boyden, who is the joint managing director of AGN, was very fond of his Kawasaki Z1 back in the day.
36:25And that's the thing, most big sponsors in BSB have some link with bikes.
36:31And what I mean by that is it's not just a corporate sponsor where they see it as financially favourable to both parties, blah, blah, blah, to get involved.
36:38Most big sponsorship deals in BSB are because maybe the CEO or somebody at the company had a bike and liked bikes.
36:46And I love that.
36:46Yeah, that's great.
36:47And it's very true, actually, across the board.
36:55Yeah, these are all grouping together now, riders that were racing each other quite closely yesterday.
37:00Iden, Nesbitt, Haslam, Cook and Brooks.
37:03They're fifth down to ninth.
37:04There's nothing really splitting them.
37:10Storm Stacey, again, just faded at this stage of the race.
37:14He's not going to be part of that.
37:16You know, for whatever reason that he's having to ride so hard, I mean, I think it is something of a bike setup issue.
37:23Then you're going to wear your tyres out.
37:25You know, riding like that, you're either going to wear your tyres out or you're going to make a mistake or you're going to make a couple of mistakes.
37:30And you're not going to go forward if you're having to ride that hard to do your lap times the whole time.
37:34Kyle Wright, then, he has gone slightly quicker on that last lap over Rory Skinner.
37:38And he's got some good speed around Richie's but doesn't fancy the move there.
37:42Rory Skinner, then, he's going to have to work hard to hold on.
37:45And he's made a mistake.
37:47He just about holds on to second place for now.
37:49Yeah, he's pushing on, though.
37:50He's Rory.
37:50He knows he's got company, obviously.
37:53Around Parma and up towards Agostini.
37:58The Cheshire Mouldings, Ducati rider, Taz Racing.
38:01He'll have seen on his pit board that it's plus nought.
38:04He knows that he's got company.
38:06Yep, so this is Rory.
38:13Just gets in a little bit hot.
38:14Runs, what, a metre and a half wide.
38:17Kyle thinks he'll have a little bit of a go.
38:19Rory sees him, kind of squares it off a little bit.
38:22I'm in no danger there.
38:24But, yeah, it's an indication that Rory's trying to live that hard.
38:27Top lefty picture there.
38:30You can just see Steve Plater having a chat with Matt Last.
38:34Kyle Wright's team, the OMG.
38:36Nitrous competition, there's a lot.
38:38Full crew there.
38:39Keeping an eye, I think.
38:40Shannon, his crew chief.
38:41You can see Tommy Hill in the background there as well.
38:43And Harvey Beltram.
38:45He's had a good couple of weeks, actually.
38:47Yeah, in general.
38:48And a good day yesterday with Jack Kennedy in Supersport.
38:50Definitely tune in to the Supersport race coming up later.
38:53That was a belty yesterday, Mauticar.
38:55He'll be hoping Tommy Bridewell here can pinch a podium
38:58from Rory Skinner in car ride.
38:59Yeah, and, of course, a fantastic team for Honda.
39:02And it was good to see.
39:04They flick it left now onto the centre straight.
39:08Bradley Ray about to start lap 11 of 12.
39:10Another 47.8 from the race leader.
39:15Skinner, Ride, and Bridewell all over the line.
39:18All in the 47s themselves.
39:21Tommy Bridewell marginally quicker than the pair ahead of him
39:24on that last lap.
39:25Yeah, with two to go and a five-second lead,
39:27the best part of Bradbury doesn't have to do anything.
39:29All he's ever do is do what he's doing.
39:32Oh, he's struggling again.
39:34And that's lost him, guys.
39:34And that might be one or two.
39:35Does Rory even know that Tommy's there?
39:38Further back, Christian Hiddon.
39:39In that battle for fifth.
39:41But let's keep our eyes on this for now.
39:42Kyle Ryan's now gone wide.
39:43And through goes Rory Skinner.
39:45Yeah, they're making a lot of mistakes these lot.
39:49Now into Agostini.
39:50Tommy Bridewell for now.
39:51Just sitting there, waiting, watching this one.
39:56Number 11, Rory Skinner,
39:58who picked up his first podium of the season
40:00with a third at Donington last time out.
40:02Looking for a second-place finish now
40:04with the Cheshire Mouldings Ducati.
40:06And it just feels like they're all...
40:08I can't imagine they're running out of grip, necessarily.
40:10But it is hot.
40:11It is warm.
40:12They're just pushing on.
40:13Let's see this again.
40:17It just goes in too quick.
40:19Gets a little bit of slide at the rear
40:20as he's going in.
40:22Initial braking.
40:23But, yeah, he just went in too quick.
40:28Now into Brundle, the left-hander under the bridge
40:31and flick it right to Nelson.
40:32This is where Glenn had his horror smash earlier
40:35in the weekend.
40:36There's not going to be room for an overtake here.
40:39Your next chance is a good run here
40:41out of the bomb hole around Coramson into Murray's.
40:44But we've always been pretty strong
40:45at this part of the circuit.
40:47He takes that nice, wide swooping line.
40:49Yeah, he does.
40:50You've got to clip the curve there as you brake.
40:52He's going to have a look on the inside.
40:53It's Kyle.
40:54You could see him saying that,
40:55oh, because it didn't apex it
40:56where you need to apex it
40:57for a fast line out of Murray's.
41:00We start the final lap.
41:01Bradley Ray is already well up the road.
41:04But who's going to be on the podium with him
41:05into Ritchie's corner?
41:07This is where Kyle tries to build.
41:09He's got a good run.
41:10He's got a lovely riding line there.
41:12And he's going to be right on the tail
41:13of Rory Skinner
41:14and will surely look for the inside line.
41:15Or is he relying on Rory
41:17running wide again?
41:18This time better from Skinner.
41:21He'll be definitely hoping
41:21for a mistake from Rory.
41:23Will Kyle?
41:24Other than that,
41:25Tommy will be hoping
41:26for them to get locked in
41:28and both make a mistake
41:29and run wide.
41:29Nick and Nick second.
41:31Other than that,
41:32I think Kyle's got to be
41:33really good onto the back straight
41:34and then try and do something
41:37with a slipstream
41:38and breaking off the end of it.
41:39Not close enough there.
41:40No.
41:41Skinner holds his line.
41:42I actually don't think
41:43he's going to have the pace
41:44down the straight
41:45actually against the Decai,
41:47the V4 Decai.
41:48Will Tommy Bridewell here
41:49try and pitch that third
41:50from Kyle Ryde as well?
41:52Ryde desperately looking
41:53for somewhere
41:54to go through on Skinner.
41:56This is where Kyle Ryde
41:57needs to start building.
41:59And he's going to be right here.
42:01Oh, that would be bold.
42:02That would be done.
42:03I don't think that would work
42:04because I think that would
42:04give the advantage back
42:05to Rory.
42:07On to the Bentley straight we go.
42:09Rory Skinner number 11
42:10should have the punch
42:10on the Decai
42:11ahead of the Yamaha.
42:13Unless there's a lunge
42:14coming here
42:14there might be one
42:15coming from Tommy as well.
42:16No.
42:17Rory Skinner now
42:18surely just got to
42:18hold his line.
42:19Will Kyle have a look
42:21into Murray's corner?
42:22He had a little bit of test
42:22last lap, didn't he?
42:24So this is where
42:25it all begins.
42:26Through the bottom hole here
42:27into the dip.
42:28And now Kyle Ryde is building.
42:30You can just see there.
42:31He got the power down nicely.
42:32He's now taking
42:33the wide approach
42:34to try and cut through
42:35to pitch second spot
42:36off Rory Skinner.
42:37Is it going to be good enough?
42:39Skinner's going to have to be
42:40late on the break.
42:40The lunge is coming.
42:41He's coming through
42:42but he's not been able
42:43to get through on the cutback.
42:45Bradley Ray is going to win.
42:46What about Tommy?
42:47He might nick third here.
42:48He might.
42:49It's a run to the line.
42:50We can't quite see it.
42:51Skinner.
42:52That's a photo finish for third.
42:53It says on our screens
42:54Bridewell has pinched it
42:56from Kyle Ryde.
42:57We'll get confirmation of that
42:59in a moment
43:00by eight thousandths of a second.
43:02That's what he says
43:03but yeah.
43:04That attempt on a move
43:07for second
43:08definitely
43:09I think if it does
43:10prove that he's finished
43:11fourth
43:11it costs Kyle Ryde third there.
43:15We'll get a quick shot
43:16of that over the line.
43:18Let's see this again then.
43:19Just in the background
43:20you'll see.
43:21In the background
43:21so Kyle's got the position
43:22got second
43:23runs him wide
43:24on the way out
43:24and have expected that
43:25but it costs him
43:27time down the straight.
43:27Now Tommy's thinking
43:28right I'll have a go at this.
43:31Yeah Tommy's got it.
43:32He's definitely Tommy there.
43:33So Kyle's move for second
43:37has cost him
43:37some valuable points
43:38but what can you say
43:39about Bradley Ray?
43:40There's nothing left to say.
43:42No.
43:42He's inch perfect everywhere.
43:43He's unstoppable.
43:45We don't even know
43:46if he's inch perfect anyway.
43:46We haven't seen much of him.
43:47No no that's true.
43:51Congratulations to
43:53Cheshire Moulding's
43:53Ducati
43:54Steve Plater
43:56and Mike Skinner
43:57or his dad
43:58just embracing one another
43:59and as you said James
44:00earlier on
44:00he deserves it.
44:02Absolutely.
44:03Had a lot of bad luck
44:04put a lot of effort in
44:05and you know what
44:06this sounds odd
44:07because these are
44:07motorcycle racers
44:08they're all into motorcycles
44:09right
44:09but Rory is a genuine
44:12motorcycle enthusiast.
44:14He's got old bikes
44:14he restores bikes
44:15his dad's got a little bit
44:16of a collection
44:17he goes riding two strokes
44:18round circuits
44:19and making smoke
44:20and noise on them
44:21so yeah
44:22he definitely deserves it
44:23for me.
44:25Six of the opening
44:26seven racers then
44:27have gone the way
44:28of Bradley Ray
44:29and it's starting to feel
44:31a little bit like
44:32that season
44:32Leon Cameo was dominant
44:33and people struggled
44:35to stop him.
44:36That said
44:37he's matched your record
44:39from 1993
44:41with six wins
44:42out of the first
44:43seven races.
44:44I was robbed of the other one
44:44by the way.
44:47Not that I can remember it.
44:50Brad later on
44:51could win
44:52seven of the first eight.
44:53Look at that.
44:53That's just lovely.
44:55Honestly these bikes
44:56have so much power
44:58to wheel him like that
45:00it's easy to get him up
45:01but just to be that
45:02balanced and stood on the
45:03pegs not so easy.
45:07Looking back
45:08through the order
45:09then behind Kyle Ryde
45:10Haslam
45:11ended up pinching fifth
45:13from Christian
45:14and Josh Brooks
45:15and Josh Brooks was seventh.
45:16It was Nesbitt Cook.
45:16We'll get the results
45:17for you
45:17in just a few moments.
45:26Bradley Ray
45:26victorious.
45:28Imperious.
45:28The winner
45:293.7 up
45:30on a great battle
45:31for seconds
45:31that was won
45:32by Boorish Skinner.
45:33Tommy Bridewell
45:34was gifted third
45:35in the end
45:36ahead of Kyle Ryde
45:37who was the big loser
45:38there on that last lap.
45:39Leon Haslam
45:40fifth ahead of
45:40Iden.
45:41Brooks got seventh.
45:42Nesbitt eighth.
45:43Max Cook took ninth spot
45:44ahead of Storm Stacy.
45:49Fraser Rogers
45:50picked up some points
45:51in 11th spot
45:52ahead of Lee Jackson,
45:53Danny Kent,
45:53John McPhee
45:54and Luke Hedger
45:56got the final point
45:57ahead of Todd McConnell,
45:59Van Sikhelrus,
46:00Irwin
46:00and Vichica.
46:05And so the lead increases
46:06especially with the last
46:07corner drama as well.
46:09Bradley Ray
46:09then 28 up
46:11for the number 28
46:12ahead of Kyle Ryde.
46:13Leon Haslam
46:14third.
46:15Glenn Irwin
46:16is fourth
46:16and some solid points
46:17there for Rory Skinner.
46:18He's now just 11 down
46:20on Glenn Irwin
46:20in fifth.
46:21Tommy Bridewell
46:22as well
46:22one point ahead
46:23now
46:23of Josh Brooks
46:24in sixth overall.
46:26Good points for
46:28Christian Iden there
46:29in ninth.
46:31Charlie Nesbitt
46:31in the top ten
46:32of the championship.
46:34Storm Stacy
46:3411th
46:35ahead of Cook,
46:36McPhee,
46:36Irwin,
46:37Jackson,
46:37Rogers,
46:38Swan is 17th,
46:39McConnell 18th,
46:40then Hickman
46:41and Hedger.
46:50Raceways,
46:51ray of light.
46:52Brad has done it
46:52again.
46:53It's two out of two
46:54here at Snetterton.
46:55We'll hear from him
46:56and the top three
46:57after the break.
47:05Next weekend,
47:06the EE Disability
47:07FA Cup returns
47:08for its ninth edition
47:10at St George's Park.
47:11Every match
47:11is exclusively
47:12live on TNT Sports.
47:14An unmissable weekend
47:15celebrating
47:15para and disability
47:17football
47:17with a host
47:18of returning
47:18champions
47:19and elite teams
47:20ready to compete
47:21for silverware.
47:21It all kicks off
47:22on Saturday
47:23from 9.30.
47:27Another victory here
47:28at Snetterton
47:29for Brad Ray.
47:30Tommy Bridewell,
47:31though,
47:31back on the podium
47:32again,
47:33repeating his third
47:33place from yesterday.
47:34He's with Shaky.
47:36Well,
47:36Tommy Bridewell,
47:37we said,
47:37didn't we,
47:38earlier in the weekend
47:38that the weekend
47:39was looking a bit better.
47:40Conditions look quite gusty
47:41there,
47:41but the result was the same.
47:42Another podium.
47:43Congratulations.
47:44Yeah,
47:45really tough conditions
47:46actually,
47:46Shaky,
47:47to be honest.
47:48Let me tell you,
47:48the weird bit was
47:52it's quite intermittent,
47:53so some corners
47:53you come out
47:54of the Bombo
47:54and it wouldn't be
47:55quite so bad.
47:56Yesterday,
47:57I was actually coming
47:57out of the Bombo
47:58and going third,
47:59fourth.
47:59I was going a lot
48:00stronger there,
48:01but because of the
48:01inconsistence of the wind,
48:02I just kept it in third.
48:04Really strong around Corham,
48:06but we're just lacking
48:08in the straight
48:09a little bit of speed.
48:10Some areas,
48:10but credit to Honda.
48:12We've made such big steps
48:13this weekend.
48:14I'm so,
48:14so proud of them.
48:15So,
48:15honestly,
48:16there's not one negative
48:17really bar this
48:19and that
48:19and everything that,
48:20but Brad's on another level.
48:22Brilliant to see,
48:23to be honest.
48:24I admire anyone
48:25that's able to ride
48:27in that form.
48:28It's up to us
48:29to obviously catch up.
48:30Rory had pace,
48:32but it looked like
48:32he was sort of
48:33struggling a little bit
48:34and then me and Carl
48:34come back at him.
48:36The only place
48:36I'm quite a bit stronger
48:37than probably the pair of them
48:38was around Corham.
48:40Unfortunately,
48:40I tried to pass Carl
48:41earlier in the race
48:42to then catch Rory
48:43a bit earlier,
48:44but he knew
48:45what was coming
48:45and then I also knew
48:47what he was going to do
48:47on the last lap.
48:48So,
48:49played in in my favour a bit.
48:50Credit to these guys in.
48:51Thanks to Honda
48:52and everyone that supports me.
48:54Good luck in the last race today,
48:55Tommy.
48:56Right,
48:56second place then.
48:57He's just having a quick chat here
48:58with race one winner,
48:59race two winner,
49:00Bradley Ray.
49:00Rory Skinner,
49:01really,
49:01really unlucky yesterday.
49:02Looking really strong.
49:03Looked good all weekend,
49:04actually,
49:04on that Cheshire Maldon's Ducati.
49:06Finally rewarded
49:06with a second place podium.
49:07Well done.
49:08Cheers,
49:08OK,
49:09excellent race.
49:09Good to be in the battle as well.
49:11Nice to have a little battle
49:11with Kyle there.
49:12And yeah,
49:17afternoon.
49:18One step better?
49:19We'll try to do more of the same,
49:20I think.
49:20It's,
49:21yeah,
49:21after yesterday's issue in the race,
49:23it's nice to reward the boys
49:23with a podium.
49:24So,
49:25another track,
49:25another podium for us.
49:26First year on this bike,
49:27we're getting there.
49:28Well done,
49:28Rory,
49:28great job.
49:29Cheers.
49:30Right,
49:30and your race two winner,
49:31Bradley Ray,
49:32just over there talking
49:33for our assistant,
49:34David,
49:34actually.
49:34Bradley,
49:35another masterclass,
49:36pole position,
49:37fastest lap,
49:38race win,
49:39you're getting a bit greedy.
49:40Yeah,
49:40I know.
49:41When Kyle done that move
49:42on the first,
49:43the first lap,
49:43I knew then I had to,
49:44I had to get my head down.
49:46I've had,
49:46I've had good pace,
49:47I had good pace at the start of the race
49:48and mid race I had good pace as well.
49:50So,
49:51I just tried to get my head down.
49:52The wind is a bit,
49:53if you break one minute,
49:55the same,
49:55the same point,
49:56and then the next lap,
49:56you break the same point
49:57and you end up running wide.
49:58So,
49:58you've got to be a little bit cautious there,
50:00but no,
50:01it's a nice race and I enjoyed it.
50:02See how you get on this afternoon.
50:03Well done,
50:03Bradley.
50:04Cheers,
50:04mate.
50:06He will definitely be the favourite
50:08to make another treble here
50:09after doing exactly the same
50:10at Donington Park.
50:11It does sound like the conditions
50:13were quite different today.
50:14The same for everybody
50:15and Brad made it happen.
50:17Yeah,
50:17gusty wind coming and going,
50:19but he just got out in front
50:21and we were,
50:22we thought it would probably be
50:23more of the same
50:23and it was.
50:24No one really had an answer.
50:26Carl had that bit of a lunge,
50:27went wide
50:28and that was it.
50:29He had to do it though,
50:29didn't he?
50:29He had to have a go,
50:30but then at the end of the day,
50:32Brad just got in his rhythm,
50:33bing, bing, bing, bing,
50:34and suddenly it was four or five seconds,
50:36bagged it off the last couple of laps,
50:37so another real masterclass from him.
50:39Yeah,
50:40if somebody's,
50:40you know,
50:410.2,
50:410.3 quicker per lap than you,
50:43we'll have a chance
50:43of getting in front of him,
50:44roughing them all,
50:45putting them off the rhythm,
50:46running them wide,
50:46whatever.
50:47Where they are for second quicker,
50:49not that easy.
50:51All right,
50:52let's get back to the podium then
50:53with Steve.
50:55Thanks guys.
50:57Yeah,
50:57Rory Skinner going up there
50:58with a big smile on his face.
50:59So good to see.
51:00As we mentioned
51:01at the start of the season,
51:02we weren't really expecting them
51:03to start threatening for podiums
51:05until we get to Knock Hill.
51:07They've done a fine,
51:08fine job.
51:08Brad Ray heads up
51:10onto the top step
51:12and the trophies
51:13are about to be handed out.
51:14Tommy Bridewell then,
51:15the 2023 British Superbike Champion.
51:18This is his 108th podium.
51:22He's continuing
51:23a really good record here
51:24at Snefferton as well.
51:25For Rory,
51:26the number 11,
51:27that's podium number 11 for him.
51:29And we'll see many more of those.
51:31But for Brad Ray,
51:32this astonishing record
51:33this year continues.
51:35Win number 17 of his career.
51:37Seven races,
51:38seven podiums,
51:39six wins.
51:40Under theined.
