Transkrip
00:00it's round four of bennett's bsp for 2025 and a 20-lap sprint coming up race 10 of the season
00:10and the first wet race of the year it's time for splash and dash here at knock hill bradley ray
00:19dominant so far 32 points ahead in the championship he's won seven races on the
00:25trot eight in total in this 2025 season but this is a race that will be quite a challenge for the
00:33number 28 because there'll be opportunity knocking for many further down on the grid who fancy their
00:39chances at a podium as you just heard there from james on the grid brad ray starts from pole position
00:44ahead of rory skinner he's got good form in the wet and of course here at home car ride joins them
00:49on that front row tommy bridewell heads row two with storm stacy up there as well as
00:55josh brooks who was fastest in morning warm-up it's well worth pointing out further down the order
01:00lots of wet weather specialists that could poke their nose in business here leon hasden got to
01:06start all the way down in 13th so far it's been a rotter of the weekend for him likewise for fellow
01:11experience rider christian idden who has got to start all the way back down in 18th after his crash
01:16on lap one yesterday uh james you were just saying as you came to the commentary box there as far as
01:22wet conditions go not too bad yeah not too bad there's there's not a lot of rain coming down
01:26actually there's enough so that it's not going to dry out um but it's not horrendous to ride in it's
01:32not uncomfortable to ride in uh you've got to be careful you don't get any moisture on the inside of
01:36your visor otherwise uh they have a tendency to manifest itself in steam on the inside of your visor
01:42uh but apart from that keep away from the wild as you know yeah you keep away from the
01:46slipping bits if you can get a good start and keep in the getting the fresh air and have no spray
01:50all the better but there'll certainly be people who will be fancying this and really quite pleased
01:55it's raining i'm thinking luke hedger uh fraser rogers went really well on friday in very similar
02:01conditions to this and they're brave and they've nothing to lose in terms of a championship so
02:05they'll get stuck in uh and maybe storm stacy because we've seen what he can do in these conditions
02:11yeah he was fastest here on friday in conditions much like this as brad ray then gets himself onto
02:16pole position 20 lap sprint coming up that's just over 25 miles in total
02:22shaky holds the record for the most wins on the spin in bsb from 2003 when he won
02:35eight on the trot will it beat brad to equal that today eyes on the lights
02:40and we're underway good start from the second row there for storm stacy number 79 there he is
02:46shooting through to the inside line but it will be brad ray from pole that leads them through turn
02:51one down into duffer stip from kyle ryde rory skinner third storm up to fourth yep you don't want
02:56to get shoved wide onto the painted surfaces because they will tend to be sleepy bunching of it yeah
03:01pleased with that everybody's around you spoke to fraser rogers on the grid he said he's having this he just
03:05took a risky move there but he's on the yellow and black tack on to keep an eye on him already
03:12there a lunge potentially from skinner on kyle ryde as brad ray look tries to get into his groove early
03:17on yeah fraser's up another one as well yeah for 89 fraser we'll keep our eye on him storm stacy's
03:23already up into third and remember fastest here on friday felt so good on his bathens bmw yeah the
03:31outsiders to watch is 79 and 89 fraser is 89 i think here we go then on to the start finish
03:37straight back very leads across the line for the end of lap one storm stacy already pulling up the
03:41inside of kyle ryde getting into his groove now up to p2 is storm third place at the moment for kyle ryde
03:49rory skinner is currently in fourth their number 11 just ahead of tommy bridewell over the line fraser
03:55rogers was eighth he's charging up towards scott reddy there's riders who really enjoy riding
04:00these conditions for a couple of reasons sometimes they think it's going to give them a better chance
04:04they kind of they cope with these conditions a little bit better but always at the back of your
04:08mind there's a feeling that if you make one little mistake it can be punished a bit more than what you
04:12would be in the drive you touch a white line touch a painted surface where the numbers are on the grid
04:16or etc you can easily find yourself going down the road for not a lot done wrong really
04:21rory skinner now a nice move up the inside of number one kyle ryde on the cutback kyle trying to
04:26challenge but will he get up terms with that to kathy it doesn't look like it fine start to the race for
04:30the championship leader bradley ray he cannot put a foot wrong at the moment he can and actually
04:37all the top riders should be a ride in these conditions really well there's no real excuse for it
04:4252.5 in the wet as well that's shifting that is shifting yeah we come here doing track days
04:47yeah there's fraser sliding underneath just broke getting properly stuck in here is fraser rogers
04:53number 89 that gives you good angles to lift up there into the chicane and actually they do take a
04:58lot of curb in there going in but that's because the bike is going over straight there's no stress
05:02sideways no centrifugal force on those tires at all if there were it wouldn't be it's the ones who
05:07wouldn't be doing that brad ray was possibly expecting some business early in this race but as it is
05:12he's not seen a front wheel so he's just trying to check out tommy bridewell had gone through on kyle
05:18ride yeah yeah if you just miss your breaking point a little bit in these conditions you don't really
05:26want to tip in you just you better just sort of balancing it and running it slightly wide a couple
05:29of meters there for for uh tommy so tommy bridewell there number 46 up ahead of kyle ryde fraser rogers just
05:36behind them in sixth spot he's done excellently to come through from 12th on the grid as we look
05:43here at storm stacy at the moment it's purple sector after purple sector for your championship
05:50leader on the raceway shammaha who opted for a quite a heavily tinted visor which surprised me
05:55yep surprised uh that myself um normally these conditions you would run a clear visor with
06:01uh a pin lock on the inside like a double glazed kind of unit if you like uh that stops most i mean
06:07it's not foolproof but they do work reasonably well to keep you seeing where you're going but
06:12a tinted one like that is unusual in these conditions over the line 51.9 now for bradley ray
06:17this is seriously amazing pace in the wet conditions around here if you came to track there here on a one
06:23litre sports bike and you were a quick rider that is a quick time you'd struggle to get anybody in the fast
06:29group of a of a apart from races on a track day who would be doing those times in perfect conditions
06:34he can't believe this look how good he looks on the bike pitch perfect for bradley rate so far it's lap
06:42five of 20 though
06:45yeah they reckon uh they reckon a good grip it circuit in the way he should be doing about 110 of
06:53a dry time and that's just just a fraction underneath that that's an indication of how
06:58grippy this place is in the way leslie on haslam number 91 making uh some big moves and that was a
07:05big move and a good move yeah very good especially when was haslam starting he started 13 so he's made
07:09a few spots up he's out of 50 meters behind him i've got scott reading just up ahead of him
07:17wet conditions of course for scott with no electronics is very different to what he's used to as lee
07:21jackson makes up a spot now as well that goes through and andy irwin christian did and just in
07:26the background there has pushed his sway forward a bit as nesbit nearly took a nibble at andy irwin
07:34yeah freakishly even when you when you can run active traction control and rider aids like in world
07:39superbike it's more difficult to get him set up in the wet when you think they need it more because
07:44every corner's different every wet condition's different so if you can get it perfect you've got time
07:48or be oh well uh but they tend to use less of it we're already trying to find a way through on storm
07:54stacy he's quicker than storm in sector two at the moment tommy bridewell just in the background there
07:59as brad ray roars off into the distance again at 51.7 it's faster slap after faster slap for the
08:05championship leader he's already now got over three seconds yeah on the field yeah yeah that's uh
08:13when you're going like this you take a bit of stopping don't you yeah confidence is with him
08:17he's not having to do anything stupid and we said it at snetterton and we'll repeat it again james you
08:23have to make the most of these rare times in your motorcycle racing career where everything just feels
08:28like it's flowing correct yeah and it's a lovely place to be i know if you can come and not killing
08:33conditions like this uh and kind of have not make any mistakes which is easy to do in these conditions
08:39uh it's a nice trip down the m6 going home i'll tell you you call it that uh what's it called west
08:44valent services a private one where you can get a big pie and maybe a sausage sounds like a man with
08:49experience oh danny bucket's looking at me now that's where he's calling on the way back top left of your
08:56picture there you've got michael ruttaker to have him back in the paddock after his incident at the isle of
09:00man you've got philip neil just there as well as they look at their riders second and third
09:04the bathens agn bmw of storm stacy and then the cheshire moldings ducati of rory skinner what i will
09:11say is anybody who's ridden a motorcycle in the way either on the road or on a circuit if you're on
09:15uh street tires and you're looking at these thinking wow getting the knee down loads of lean
09:21angle as uh storm backs it into clark's if you've never ridden on wet weather good condition wet weather
09:27tires they're incredible things honestly you get all your feel back then you know you're not going
09:32to get as much grip as a dry surely you're not but they are good he's able to hold a line so well
09:38isn't he oh a bit of a twitch on exit though for skinner that will perhaps invite storm back although
09:43he closes the door on him a little bit onto the start finish straight rory skinner's got that inside
09:47line these are two tall riders on the british superbike machines but skinner is up into second let's
09:53see if he can now reel in brad ray at all the weird thing about knock ill is in the way under the
09:59dry it's always favored tall riders i don't know whether that's just coincidence or but it does
10:04it has done over the years behind these two tommy bridewell just a fraction faster
10:11than the pair on his honda doing a fine job tommy said he's back up against the wall of lake kyle ride
10:17at the moment fifth right uh danny kent mentioned him a little while ago and 11th now in the wet
10:21conditions he's been strong he was actually very fast here in a test in the wet fast here on friday
10:27as well he's climbed up to sixth spot ahead of fraser rogers and the pair of them are lapping quicker
10:33than those in second and third further back this is uh scott redding and co he's just dropping a few
10:40spots back he's fallen behind brooks aslamp and lee jackson yeah but what a baptism of fire for the
10:46number four there on uh the hager uh ducati to come into this environment and he knows how competitive
10:54this is i think probably more competitive depth of field than when he left in 19 as champion uh but
10:59still to come to a quirky little circuit like this brilliant though it is it's a big ask especially
11:04when you get conditioned chucked at you like this yeah he's had just about every condition
11:08throw at him hasn't he over the course of the weekend this is kyle ride and danny kent
11:12always nice to see the mccams yamaha there up at the sharp ends they've been really struggling to
11:17to find the right setup on that yamaha for danny so far this year and it's uh even more difficult
11:23when you've got someone like bradley ray doing what he's doing out front but it's not as simple
11:28as just saying well here are brad ray settings you can't not every rider rides the same way james
11:33no completely not this is the opposite you can be teammates with somebody on exactly the same
11:38material exactly the same access to uh suspension electronics whatever and you can run a completely
11:43different bike i've seen garages where each rider couldn't ride each other's bike anywhere near
11:48they'd be two seconds off on each other's bike so you've got to go your own way we set up it's all
11:53about feeling comfortable on the bike especially when you've got what you've got 225 230 horsepower if you're
11:58not comfortable with that it's gonna hurt you yeah i mean i suppose a classic case in point there is
12:02someone like tom prakbraskar the old glue no no one can get on with his settings no no i remember
12:08riding yamaha's and i could wait for a shot on the fastest man on a yamaha's bike which was at the time
12:13noriyuki haga it was so bad it was so bad i don't know if i rode it out for you for me yeah i couldn't
12:20get it out the garage without looking like a rank amateur which compared to him i probably was but it was
12:27awful speaking of world super bikes of course donnington park looms for world super bike
12:32championship next weekend a bumper action weekend on tnt sports and discovery class we've got
12:37donnington world super bikes as daddy kent goes through there on uh kyle rye brilliant move there
12:42from kent he moves up into uh fitz for and of course the moto gp of germany all coming your way next weekend
12:47yeah looking at the diamond screens now skinner's just slipped his fastest lap of the race so far and
12:53that was slightly quicker than ray in the front but risk still got three seconds at least with three
12:59seconds you can start to control that and and kind of not take as many risks storm here just holding on
13:05to a podium spot for now but he's being hunted down by tommy bridewell over the line there for brad
13:10ray 52.1 for him and 52.0 for skinner just a fraction faster again stacy of bridewell here third and fourth
13:27so much of this uh knock hill circuit you've either got a lot of weight on the tires weight in the
13:31compression or over the start and finish for kind of two or three seconds the bike's almost floating like
13:36nothing's touching the ground properly you can see when you get that head on shot it just the bike's
13:41just moving just kind of not weaving it's just searching for a little bit of weight and a little
13:45bit of a little bit of grip just saw there jamie davis uh sticking his leg out he's just coming up to
13:52be lapped so he's trying to move out of the way we're on lap 13 of 20. yeah no shame in that this is
13:56the shortest uh circuit on the calendar and to get lapped here is you know for somebody like him he's not
14:01it's not the end of the world you don't have to be much off you can be having the best days racing
14:05you've had in terms of you know when you've got different circuits but still get lapped here it's
14:09a short lap over the line again at 52.1 from brad ray he's responded to skinner just being slightly
14:16faster the gaps back up to 3.2 again it's ray from skinner from this battle here in third storm stacy
14:22versus tommy bridewell for the remaining podium spot yeah brad's got the luxury now of uh looking at his uh
14:28lapboard every time he goes over the start and finish and just managing that gap and at the same time
14:33you can see a little bit that's not a dry line that's just a line where there isn't actually any
14:38kind of lying water and that's what you'll be sticking to uh but yeah brad's in a perfect
14:43position now he can just look at his lapboard and control the race and he knows he's got a little
14:48bit in his pocket if he needs it because we've just seen that last lap you can see that the dry line
14:53starting to to form here yeah i don't think a problem i don't think uh it's a 20 lap for what we've got only
14:58six to go so we haven't got even look at that that's on the stairs that's going to cool your
15:02tires down there's no way you're going to be having any problems in the next six laps with your tires
15:06there is a move coming here from tommy bridewell for third spot yeah but you know you got to be
15:11carefully stone's not going slow this isn't an easy pass so to get past storm who will be sticking to
15:17that dry air line let's call it uh you've got to run onto the wetter part of the track and we've seen
15:22other races this morning we saw a super teams race and you step outside that and you've less grip
15:28interesting to see what tommy does how he goes about it john haslam has made a decent progress he's
15:34up into eighth place so he might just have himself a better grid spot for later on this afternoon of
15:39course that would be reverting back to a 30 lap uh feature race forecast wise because we've got a big day
15:45of racing action here for you at not kill in the british superbike paddock it is looking like it could rain
15:51again later but we'll just have to wait and see it's really changeable over the line we go there
15:58and we're on lap 16 of 20 now this the fight for third spot a quick word on rory skinner in second
16:05place james because this would now be if he brings it home four podiums in the last six races which
16:12ordinarily during a normal bsb season you'd be in the mix for the championship it's just very unusual
16:17to have someone so dominant actually out in front yes it is it's the cone over syndrome in it if you
16:24can remember a track racing back in the athletics back in the 80s where it just so happened that two
16:29brilliant people arrived on in the sport at the same time and robbed each other of lots of good
16:35results either one of them would have dominated here comes tommy and force do you see that he just
16:40forced off he got up the inside took the drier line up off someone that's exactly the right thing
16:46you do danny kent is closing on the pair of them as well but he might just run out of time this is
16:50good step for danny in the background there that's davy todd just being lapped still just trying to find
16:55any setup at all on that 2025 bmw storm stacy still heavily on that back brake just about every corner you
17:02can see uh that the bike sliding into the corner you can either do that by uh going down the gearbox and
17:08kind of using the clutch but they don't actually use the clutch anymore especially when like storm's
17:12got a scooter type rear brake so he will leave the clutch alone once he's left the line uh so all that
17:17sliding at the back of storm's bm is from the brakes and on that sir that's david todd happy look of it
17:22yeah he's just moving out of the way i think christian idon has done well in this race as well he's
17:26always been good in the wet he's always been good at knock hill he's come up from 18th on the grid
17:30charging down now towards leon haslam and josh brooks a trio of experienced british superbike riders
17:35on offer here meanwhile out front brad ray ticking off another lap lap 18 of 20. remind you
17:42that record of shakies 2003 eight wins on the truck will be leveled by brad ray and if brad then wins
17:50this afternoon he would break the record and that is a record that as i said has lasted for 22 years
17:56you do not see this if you're tuning into bsp for the first time this year just drink it in because
18:01he's riding perfectly but it is so rare to see someone so dominant in this championship yeah
18:06and you've got to take something out of that there's no point saying you know there wasn't much going
18:10on in the race you've seen something that's really quite special here you are here he is on the raceways
18:15yamaha he's just got a couple of laps to go steve rogers and mark woodage their top left corner looking
18:23pretty calm and cool as they have done all year and why wouldn't they and do you know what's brilliant as
18:27well is that even though they know how to run a team and then then he's got a good team behind him
18:31even they can't believe what brad is doing on that bike at times no but it needs them to do that and
18:36i think it's just coming together really well it's just it's not been fortunate but it was put together
18:41last minute after the omg uh kind of big three-man team that was going to be this year oh yeah
18:49and did you see uh extra out on the rear brake that was it's good to see sometimes we've not seen
18:54that sort of aggression from danny kent in the past loving this and this is such a good ride and
18:58this would be such a boost for the team as well and handy be on the front row for this afternoon's
19:04race on the mccams yamaha it's been a a really tough start to the season for danny kent sixth is
19:10his best result currently on for fourth he's gonna run out of time for the podium unfortunately completely
19:15but a really tough start uh to a season for a really nice bloke who has more talent than he's been showing
19:21this year just saw the the bike weaving a bit on the start finish straight is that because of this
19:25dry line and there's no problem with that it actually feels quite good because it feels safe
19:33braddy ray starts his final lap it's going to be another one ticked off he has been mustard so far
19:39further back this one could finish anyway christian idden really getting stuck in after the disappointment
19:47of yesterday brooks thought about lunch there he's just not christian definitely thought about a
19:52lunge on on haslam there this is the battle for eighth place this is going to be interesting into
19:57the airport here because they're all going to want a bit of this they are meanwhile out front
20:02unstoppable untouchable unflappable we're running out of words and he equals the record for most wins in
20:10a season bradley ray is on top of the world he wins race two here and not killed rory skinner another
20:16podium for him and hats off to tommy bridewell and danny kenny was not far away there this is the scrap
20:24for eighth place stacy takes fifth fraser rogers an excellent sixth kyle wright seventh and it's just
20:31haslam eight from idden and brooks in tenth spot stop scott redding there really struggling yes over the
20:40line well i'm gonna say i didn't i didn't even see that coming i mean i thought he'd be
20:48in a bitter bother early on i i thought if somebody could get in front of him put him off his rhythm a
20:53little bit i expected him to be quick in these conditions because he's a quality rider and doing
20:58what he's done in the past you've got to be uh but actually he made that look just about as easy or
21:05easier uh than in the drive later on then he could cement his name in history and become the only
21:12rider ever to win nine in a season i'm not sure how happy shaky would be about that that could be the
21:17end of a beautiful relationship it's just incredible i said yesterday james it is 2022
21:24championship winning season he won nine races he's won nine already yeah albeit i think there was only
21:31two in a week in one of them and we were talking yesterday after the race you look at the rest of
21:36the calendar there's nowhere where you can see any weakness he's strong everywhere the yamaha strong
21:40everywhere yeah yamaha is a really balanced bike everywhere it's no it's not it's not the best bike
21:45everywhere but it certainly is a good bike everywhere there's no real weak circuits and this is a proper
21:50coming of age moment for rory skinner as well number 11 on the chesham holdings to katie i think this
21:55this last couple of meetings i think from donny and i think we've seen the team get used to that
21:59dekaty very different bike to run every way it works is different to what the team has been working
22:04with for years uh they've got used to it uh stuart shenton is a cracking uh mechanic been around a long
22:10time uh cracking crew chief and they've got their heads around it now and so has roaring it's good to see
22:15fair play to tommy bridewell absolutely it digs deep doesn't it yep another podium for him come
22:22rain or shine brad ray makes it nine but when you got when you've got this much talent and things
22:28are going your way you're on your a bike that you like with a team that works really well this is
22:33what it's like it's just on a crest of a wave of confidence here that was lovely embrace there
22:38between brad and his dad oh his dad's so nice real working class people just lovely family
22:48let's get the results and standings in here then from race two
22:52splash and dash brad ray wins again 4.1 seconds clear of rory skinner
22:56tommy bridewell is third danny kent excellent fourth for him ahead of storm stacy and fraser
23:01rogers best result of the year in six champion car ride is seventh with haslam eight hidden ninth
23:06and josh brooks taking 10th it's 11th place for andrew irwin points on offer as well for lee
23:13jackson charlie nesbitt luke hedger and max good
23:21and onto the championship the lead increases 41 up now bradley ray over kyle ryde leon haslam for now
23:29stays in third spot but he's being hunted down by rory skinner in fourth and tommy bridewell in fifth
23:35brooks is sixth ahead of the absent glenn irwin
23:41and points there for charlie nesbitt max cook and fraser rogers with his best
23:45result of the year moves up to 13th overall
24:00so brad ray victorious again an equaling shaky's record from 2003 we will hear from the top three

26:04a treble at
26:07a treble at donington park a treble at snetterton and two out of three so far here at
26:12knock hill it's eight on the bounce for bradley ray equals a record set by shane burn
26:18back in 2003 and shane is with our third place finisher tommy bridewell yeah daniel tommy bridewell
26:24Tommy fourth on the grid third in the race another podium for honda racing you must be over the moon
26:29yeah i'm happy shake um i'm happy it was hard for sure them conditions are hard we we knew
26:34there was you know a dry line was going to come um yeah just we're lacking in areas and i
26:40get stuck you know i get stuck i got stuck behind storm then um i don't think i had a huge
26:45amount more pace to go with rory or brad certainly but i think third was where we were so
26:50i'm happy enough for that for sure um the team's working great definitely working really good uh
26:55we just got to keep focused you know it's a long season we know where we're lacking um i'm
27:00putting pressure on honda certainly from now on you know i feel like i'm riding it my best so i
27:06i i need i need stronger you know i need i need more so let's see um we're i'll keep the pressure
27:13on them and hopefully we'll um get some new bits soon good stuff tommy well done best of luck
27:17for the race two this afternoon thank you right second place then home hero rory skinner another
27:22podium welcome back um second place this time one better this afternoon ah we'll see we'll see it's
27:28uh been an interesting one to be honest shaky it was first wet race for me on the jacate and
27:32yeah in all honesty quite happy with it it's been uh going in the right direction you know
27:36to be straight from the off brad just managed to get that gap on us and as i managed to get my way
27:40through the pack i reeled him in a little bit but he just had that gap and once i realized i wasn't
27:44going to be able to get to him i just uh i just tried kind of maintaining the gap to the end so
27:48it's uh yeah it's i'm happy enough with that second place is uh it's another good podium for the team
27:52the cheshire molland jacati's team and uh yeah hopefully this last race we'll see if the weather
27:57kind of plays ball one or the other and uh we'll see what it brings well dry look rory what would you
28:00prefer this afternoon i don't mind either to be honest i think we can be competitive in both
28:05that's a podium in the dry race yesterday and a podium in the wet race today so uh yeah whatever this
28:09afternoon brings we'll be ready for it but uh yeah hopefully it's one or the other best luck for the
28:12last one rory thank you cheers right then you're a race two winner race one today obviously bradley
28:17ray what a performance that was uh looked like you got your head down from the word go and uh and
28:22checked out again yeah it's uh i didn't really have a game plan at the start i um got the whole
28:27shot and and i didn't really know how hard to push i just defended the first two corners and then
28:32decided right i need to push i need to get heat in the tires i need to get there into a rhythm and start
28:36the to build the confidence and straight away i felt good with the bike um the more i pushed the
28:41more feeling i got from the tires and uh overall it was a good race it got a bit tricky mid-race
28:45onwards the dry patches were coming so the the front was pushing quite a lot and the rear was spinning
28:49but managed to to watch the pit board um keep the gap quite the same to to rory towards the end i knew he'd
28:55struggled to to gain back three seconds um in them conditions so just tried to hit my markers um and
29:01bring bring the bike home but yeah super happy to to get this win especially in the conditions it is today
29:06that would actually brought you uh eight wins on the bounce um the same as me that's the record
29:11can you just slow down a little bit this afternoon please yeah um let's try and let's try and go one
29:17up and um get nine wins and uh yeah see if we can do that but no just uh just over the moon i'm keeping
29:23my feet on the ground i know every every weekend's not going to be like this so just going to keep
29:27working and keep pushing fantastic best of luck this afternoon cheers mate thank you
29:30yeah great that brad didn't listen to shaky's advice today to roll off and just think about
29:35the championship don't worry about the win and all of that but a bit like a couple of the dry
29:39wins that we've had from brad this season danny it just seems he's got that confidence to to make
29:44the difference on the opening couple of laps i literally have no words you know like you watch
29:49him he's just come out and dominated and to me if you're his competitor you're kind of hoping wet
29:54conditions might mix it up a little bit he's come out and dominated and you know if you were his
29:58competitor you would be a little bit worried now i think and then he just yeah he just did that i
30:04think yeah but when you're riding on the sort of crest of a wave of confidence you can kind of do this
30:09i mean not that he's a brilliant rider because he is and he's on a bike that's allowing him to do that
30:14he loves the bike he's ridden the bike uh before but actually it's just so much confidence and and you
30:20know even when uh the dry line appeared or the dry air line appeared it's not a problem things moving
30:25but he's happy with it he don't care he's just like he was enjoying it right at times exactly
30:31we all kind of thought actually listen a big sprinkle of rain just before the start yeah
30:35it's gonna be stacy is really bright well there's someone gonna come out but he was so quick on those
30:40opening laps but neat and measured yeah you didn't see him having moments he just jumped to that limit
30:46you know 51 boom and he's got two second gap and that's not no one can do it from then because
30:51then he can control it and he's really clever when he's out front like that and he looks smooth and
30:56neat but fast yeah you still saw him spinning out and stuff it was just a really again it's a really
31:01demoralizing ride for those guys i want him to win uh the second race this afternoon because then
31:07he'll be buying dinner on the way i'm bradville uh i guess uh track like this in particular danny
31:15being able to run your own line in these conditions is super important so once he made that break for
31:20everybody else it was a it was an even bigger challenge really yeah and here especially there's
31:24a lot of spray so yeah the start of that race is a lot of spray so if you can get out front obviously
31:28you can get you can you know your visors within reason clearer than everyone else's and uh but like
31:33james said like he just went out and was just pinpoint just perfect and just hit his lines and
31:38pulled away and you know you think to yourself oh yes where he had a bit of an advantage but when you
31:42look at who was battling for 10th to 15th in that race it was you know he got some experienced guys
31:47there and he totally he totally dominated yeah and i don't think it would have made any difference i'd
31:50like to see a couple of people get away in front of him and him have to make the pass in these
31:55conditions but i think he would have pulled it off maybe we'll see that this afternoon remember race
31:59three is coming up at 4 p.m but now for the eighth time in a row brad ray will take the top step of
32:05the podium back to you steve yeah thanks very much boys gonna have to reach for the thesaurus i think
32:11with brad ray um we are running out of positive things to say it is just one of those times where
32:18you have to sit back take your hat off and say uh well done and they're also running out of uh team
32:24members to bring up as representatives that is uh brad's partner sarah on the podium there tommy
32:29bridewell career podium number 109 great to have him back on the top three steps rory skinner is
32:36making a habit of this as well of late that's his fourth podium of the season and they've come in
32:40the last six races but the ninth win of the year the 20th of his bsb career bradley ray
32:48picks up the victory 41 points clear now and the treble treble is on
33:18even a splash of rain cannot stop the steam train that is bradley ray victorious and going for the
33:45treble in scotland later on this afternoon
33:53yep it would be an unprecedented feat in bsb if he could make it a treble treble this afternoon but
33:59those two men alongside him will look to stop him of course as well a couple of others danny kent
34:04in particular came through really strong danny at the end of uh at the end of that one and maybe
34:08another lap he would have been up on the podium himself yeah for me danny's been lacking a bit of
34:12confidence obviously in the bike the team have been looking at what to do this year to get him going
34:15and i think even in the wet conditions to have a good finish you know it picks the confidence up
34:20a little bit you know you're starting it'll be starting a lot higher up in this afternoon's race
34:23and you know it's like around here if you're there you can have a good finish from there yeah he starts
34:28from the front row that's brilliant especially if conditions are like this and he can just make a
34:31start but actually that tells me that it's the it is the bike it's not him that's lacking in
34:36confidence because this is a leveler kind of situation these conditions and and where ultimate
34:41setup of the bike isn't as important you've got to ride the bike you've got everything has to do
34:46and i think that's an indication for me that he's just not happy with the bike in dry conditions for
34:51whatever reason let's find out danny kent is talking to shaky right with danny with danny kent danny just
34:57had uh the first race of the day on sunday a wet race look really tricky conditions but an absolutely
35:02fantastic performance fourth place uh put you up to eighth in the championship happier yeah much happier you
35:07know um just one more lap i needed one more lap so i could get past bride well but um made the job
35:12harder for myself you know where i started on the fourth row um but yeah the team gave me a mega bike
35:16um you know the problems that i've been having in the dry it doesn't really affect me as much in in
35:20the rain so uh just happy to get a good lap time in for the next race i think i'm starting on the front
35:25row and uh hopefully try and give it to your boy yeah brad wet or dry this afternoon what would you prefer wet
35:31well we wish you the best of luck in that and hopefully see you on the podium well done danny thanks
