00:00So there we are, everyone sitting around for a dinner last night at the White House,
00:05and Netanyahu presents his Nobel Peace Prize nomination.
00:10Does Donald Trump stand a chance right now that he could be a Nobel Peace Prize winner?
00:16Well, in my view, and in a short answer, no, or not necessarily, but let me break it down.
00:22Now, the official criteria for gaining or being awarded this Nobel Prize is
00:30the person who shall have this prize should have done the most, and I quote for you, by the way,
00:37should have done the most or the best work for fraternity between nations for the abolition or reduction of standing armies
00:44for the holding and promotion of peace congresses.
00:48Now, what that means in today's terms, it means that conflict resolution, negotiating peace settlements,
00:55it means also disarmament and anti-war, anti-nuclear initiatives, human rights advocacy, democracy, promotion as well,
01:06humanitarian aids in war zones like we see in Gaza, combating climate change,
01:12and we know President Trump's stance on that, promoting dialogue and reconciliation in divided societies.
01:20Now, also, there are preconditions for those.
01:24The recipient's efforts must promote peace in a non-violent way.
