00:00I want to present to you, Mr. President, the letter I sent to the Nobel Prize Committee.
00:06It's nominating you for the Peace Prize, which is well-deserved.
00:10Israel's Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has nominated Donald Trump for the Nobel Peace Prize on July 7, 2025.
00:16Pakistan had nominated him too on June 20, 2025.
00:20So, is he now eligible to get the Nobel Peace Prize?
00:23How do nominations for the Nobel Peace Prize actually work?
00:26Every September, the Norwegian Nobel Committee sends out about 3,000 letters to people and groups qualified to nominate.
00:32Only qualified nominators can do it.
00:34National politicians, university professors, judges at international courts,
00:38directors of peace research institutes and past Nobel Peace Prize laureates.
00:43Once they get the invite, nominators have from October until January 31st to send in their candidate's name,
00:48along with why they deserve the prize.
00:50The committee reads through every proposal and creates a shortlist of valid candidates.
00:54Next, each shortlisted nominee is deeply researched.
00:58Permanent advisors and outside experts write reports about their work, impact and whether they truly promote peace.
01:04The committee debates and refines the list through the summer, narrowing it down even more.
01:08In October, they vote in secret and the winner must get majority support.
01:12The names of the Nobel Peace Prize laureates are then announced.
01:15The Peace Prize is officially awarded in Oslo on December 10th, the anniversary of Alfred Nobel's death.
