00:00I'm champion, but I haven't yet to fight for the belt, you know. I was given the
00:08belt and I'm finally getting what I want, finally getting what I deserve and that's unification.
00:12I want everything that he has, you know. Yeah, I didn't care what champion it was. I told my team,
00:18I was like, just get me one of them champions. I like when people are doubting something,
00:22I want to prove them wrong. You know, it's nothing I've never seen before. Typical pressure fighter,
00:28I feel like he only know one way and that's forward. We'll see, maybe I'll run around and box,
00:33you know. No, I'm here to stamp my legacy and like I said, show the world all the best in the world,
00:38you know. Have my name up there with the Greeks. For me, it's like sink or swim, do or die. I'm
00:42going all in in this fight. No play, no game. You're going to see though, you know, I'm bringing
00:48back them belts home to Philadelphia. My perfect plan will be to get the victory, get all the belts,
00:53next day I'm flying home and straight to the hospital and take baby out. That's
00:58will be a perfect scenario.
01:00All right, we're just moments away from our main event. There's a good look at Amantastanionis
01:10and Boots Ennis. I mean, Chris, both these guys absolutely shredded. Yeah, both these guys shredded,
01:16both these guys ready and look so much on the line for both. Such a terrible year last year for Boots
01:22Ennis. Inside the ring was 2-0 but didn't look great either one of those fights. Outside the ring,
01:27everyone was talking about the Virgil Ortiz fight, the decision not to take it. And for
01:31Amantastanionis, back in 2022, everybody looked at him as maybe another potential star in the 140-pound
01:39division. Got a great win over Radzat Butayev. Then came the entire 2023 where he couldn't secure
01:45that fight against Virgil Ortiz because of health issues. 2024, he fought once. He's 30 years old. He has
01:51seen some prime years wasted away. I can tell you talking to him this week, he is hungry to get back
01:57on track. Amantastanionis, look at how big he is, the wide shoulders. These are two guys that are in
02:06the greatest shape of their lives. But look, I think the rehydration is going to serve Boots Ennis a
02:11little bit more. He's a taller fighter with the wider shoulders. But look at those shoulders right
02:14there. That's, this is a man that doesn't carry big knockout power as far as one punch, but he can put
02:19him together. He's a pressure fighter. Great chins on both these guys as well. Pinpoint accuracy. It
02:26can end in a knockout or it can go all the way to decision. It's going to be a great fight.
02:32And with that, it's time for our tale of the tape for the main event of the evening, live from
02:38Atlantic City, New Jersey, at the famous Boardwalk Hall. Boots Ennis, 33-0, 5 foot, 10 inches tall,
02:47taking on Amantastanionis, who's 5 foot, 8. He's 30 years old. Both these fighters undefeated.
02:53Both of them in their prime. Both of them world champions. Get ready, ladies and gentlemen.
02:58Will we see a fight of the year? Let's go to David Diamante.
03:08Ladies and gentlemen, at this time, we honor both undefeated world champions with their respective
03:16national anthems. We begin tonight with the national anthem of Lithuania.
03:22This is a time for Miguel.
03:25You guys are trying to App-Man .
03:32Now that the Liverpool Cup is available, right?
03:35Thank you so much for watching.
03:37You might beonieë as loved as Missouri.
03:42Yeah.
03:45The Cleveland Cup.
03:47Yes.
05:17I'll ask everyone who's able to please rise and remove your hats as international recording
05:23artists from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Suzanne Christine sings her rendition of
05:30our national anthem.
07:01Where the tears and tears
07:03Where the tears and tears
07:05Move, later than dark cradle
07:11Better and wider
07:15I'm gonna breathe
07:25We're the home of the brave
07:37We're the home of the brave
07:48We're the home of the brave
08:11Ladies and gentlemen, Atlantic City, this is the moment of truth and there's no turning back
08:20Now entering the arena, the WBA welterweight champion of the world, Emantus Stan Jonas

09:06I'll be with you, man, in the middle.
09:10Let's go and get the king.
09:12Drop it top, hop it with the man.
09:16Drop it top, they hide the city.
09:19Drop the side, just until the end.
09:22Lithuania has about the same population of Houston, Texas.
09:26There's never been a boxing champion from that country
09:29until the man you're looking at right now.
09:32Amontes Stanionis has already beaten the odds.
09:35To be as good as he is, Chris Mannix, can he beat the odds again tonight?
09:39He's a 6-1 underdog and topple boots in it.
09:42I think he's got a great chance to do it.
09:44There's a tremendously talented young fighter,
09:47former European gold medalist, 2016 Olympian, 15-0 as a professional.
09:53The only thing that has stopped Amontes Stanionis from climbing the ranks
09:56is bad luck and probably some political inactivity that's occurred in boxing.
10:00But this guy, he is the real deal.
10:03He is a pure pressure fighter.
10:04All gas, no brakes is what he said this week.
10:07And that is exactly the type of fight I expect from him.
10:15And now entering the arena,
10:17here is the reigning, defending, undefeated IBF welterweight champion of the world,
10:29Jerome Boots-Adding!
10:34Hey!
10:35Hey!
10:35Hey!
10:35Hey!
10:35Hey!
10:36Hey!
10:36Hey!
10:37Hey!
10:44What's up?
10:45Hey!
10:46What's up?
10:46Hey!
10:47Yeah!
10:47And now entering the arena,
10:48let's see you say.
10:50Let's see you.
10:51Hey!
10:52Hey!
10:53He's coming out to The Undertaker's music, and his nickname is Mr. Katchabadi.
11:21Sergio, he's got that look of confident swagger as he makes his way to the ring.
11:26That's exactly what Mr. Katchabadi should be aiming for, is the body of Stani Onis.
11:30Stani Onis has a high guard, which exposes the ribs.
11:34That's what he should be looking for.
11:35I think Stani Onis has a soft spot for downstairs.
11:38Boots better aim for it.
11:50Undefeated IDF welterweight champion of the world.
11:59It's fight day.
12:05It's that time.
12:06Time to show out.
12:07Time to shine.
12:08Remake homies, two more belts.
12:14The WBA and the remakes is in me.
12:17Please do not get out of your seats.
12:19I don't want y'all to miss nothing.
12:20You know, do not get out of your seats.
12:21Don't blink.
12:22Don't get out of your seat.
12:23I'm going to run right into a rock.
12:25I like staying out of your seats and do not miss this.
12:27It's beautiful.
12:28Here comes the man.
12:58Many believe it's destined for super stardom.
13:01Dron, Boots, Ennis, 33-0 with 29 knockouts.
13:06And Chris, he has promised, tonight will be his defining career moment.
13:12He's got Tyrese Maxey, Philadelphia 76ers guard, rolling alongside.
13:16And look, Boots Ennis is a special fighter.
13:18There have been a lot of very good to great fighters coming out of Philadelphia.
13:22Names like Joe Frazier, Bernard Hopkins, Meldrick Taylor.
13:26For a long time, Boots Ennis looked like he was on the path to being potentially on that list.
13:32Last year was a tough year for him, both inside and out the ring.
13:35But you are only as bad as your last fight.
13:40We have seen countless times, whether it's Dimitri Beeble, whether it's Teofimo Lopez.
13:44When you have an off night, you bounce back with a big night.
13:47Everybody forgets what happened before.
13:49Short-term memory is boxing fantastic.
13:51And that's with a fan-friendly style that Boots Ennis has and chasing the K.O.s.
13:56You're bound to get hit, but he can shut a lot of people up.
13:58And that's exactly what he has in mind.
14:00I'm going to show y'all, is what he said.
14:02Now's the time to show everybody and show out.
14:04Ladies and gentlemen, good evening and welcome to the iconic Boardwalk Hall here in America's

15:39From Connecticut, Glenn Feldman.
15:41And from New York, Kevin Morgan.
15:43And at the sound of the bell, your third man in the ring, referee David Fields.
15:49And now, ladies and gentlemen, the stage is set, and we are here.
16:01This is it.
16:02The time has come.
16:05I said, the time has come.
16:12From the four corners of the world to the four corners of this ring right here at Boardwalk Hall, Atlantic City, New Jersey.
16:23The fight starts now.
16:31Introducing first, fighting out of the red corner.
16:34He wears black with silver.
16:36He scaled 146 and three-quarter pounds.
16:39Professional record, perfect.
16:4115 fights, 15 victories, with nine of them coming by way of knockout.
16:49Tonight, he makes his second defense of his world title.
16:53Here is the 2016 Olympian, fighting out of Calnes, Lithuania.
16:58The reigning, defending, undefeated, WEA, welterweight, champion of the world,
17:09a mantis, Stan Yonis.
17:17Stan Yonis.
17:19And his opponent, across the ring, fighting out of the blue corner.
17:33He wears green, white, and gray.
17:38He scaled at already 146 and one-half pounds.
17:43His professional record, also perfect.
17:4633 fights, 33 victories, with 29 big wins coming by way of knockout.
17:55Tonight, he makes his third defense of his world title.
17:59Here is the popular, skilled, and hard-hitting, welterweight phenom,
18:05proudly fighting out of and representing his home of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
18:11Introducing the reigning, defending, undefeated, IBF, welterweight, champion of the world,
18:23Jaron Boots Ennis.
18:29Ennis.
18:32Okay, gentlemen, we're scheduled about 12 rounds for the IBF and WBA welterweight championship of the world.
18:54Going over the rules in the dressing room, I expect to obey my commands at all times,
18:58most of all potentials, not for all times.
19:01Touch gloves below.
19:01So many incredible fights have taken place in this building in Atlantic City, New Jersey.
19:09Holyfield foreman, Tyson, Spinks, Pavlik, Taylor, Gotti, Ward, ladies and gentlemen.
19:16Dare we expect another thriller?
19:18This is for the unified welterweight championship of the world.
19:23Amatis Stanionis and Jaron Boots Ennis.
19:27Could we see a fight of the year, contender?
19:30Here we go.
19:3212 championship rounds between two undefeated champions.
19:39You see Amatis Stanionis is going to try to set the pace of this fight early.
19:44He is a pressure fighter and wants to come forward all night long.
19:48And you can see Boots Ennis coming out from that orthodox stance, right-handed.
19:51I personally think he's a better southpaw.
19:54And against fighters like Sandy Onis, you want to give him the different lifts.
19:58You want to give him a different perspective.
20:03You know, he probably expected Boots to come out southpaw, coming out orthodox.
20:07And you see Boots early on aiming a little bit for that midsection.
20:10That's the one area that's open in this sort of shell of defense that Stanionis fights in.
20:18Stanionis's motto in this fight, all gas, no brakes.
20:23He promises to take the fight to Boots and not go backwards.
20:27Yeah, but with a motto like that, all gas, no brakes, you're bound to run into an accident, you know?
20:32Guys like Boots, they love that kind of style.
20:35That's food for them, man.
20:36Stanionis needs to be smart with that pressure, which he is.
20:39That's the thing about him, and behind that Ramrock jab.
20:44But you can see that Boots is looking for that uppercut already.
20:46I mean, stabbing him down with the jabs to set up that right uppercut.
20:50Those are money punches by Boots.
20:52And that uppercut got a smile out of Stanionis, who again, his wife is due any day with a baby.
21:00That's what he was due three days ago.
21:01Love that body shot around the guard by Boots.
21:04In his last fight.
21:09Oh, nice counter left from Stanionis.
21:11His last fight, Stanionis, he kind of got touched up in the body in those middle rounds.
21:15I love the fact that Ennis is already touching that body early.
21:18The criticism for Boots in his last fight is that he was getting hit too often and too cleanly.
21:27Because he fights to his competition, man.
21:29He needs to be motivated.
21:30He's not motivated by a guy that he went 24 rounds with.
21:33You can definitely see how sharp he is against Stanionis.
21:36He's not going to get touched in this fight.
21:39Unless Stanionis forces him to get touched.
21:41And you can see right now Stanionis is not really throwing the shots that he normally accustomed throwing so early.
21:48And Chris, Boots looks bigger, doesn't he?
21:50Yeah, he looks like he's rehydrated really well.
21:52And that's a part of this.
21:53For the last three or four fights, Boots Ennis has fought under IBF rules,
21:58which has required a 10-pound rehydration the next day.
22:01Because this is a unification fight, that 10-pound rehydration clause goes out the window.
22:06So he's been able to rehydrate perhaps a little bit more going into this fight.
22:10Yeah, he was asked yesterday what he was going to have for breakfast the day of the fight.
22:13He said everything.
22:15Yeah, and at the weight, he looked like the smaller fighter, thinner.
22:18You can see the Stanionis is bulkier around the midsection, around the torso area.
22:22But rehydration, man, it's key.
22:24And the fact that they don't have to just do 10 pounds and actually do your natural weight,
22:29that's all advantage for Joran Ennis.
22:33Time!
22:36Fight Night on DAZN, brought to you by that prize guy.
22:43Look, look, look, straight fight, space in the hand, coming up there.
22:46Yo, more around.
22:49And this is what you want to see from Ennis right here.
22:52Around the guard, that body shot right there.
22:54Didn't look like much, but that's going to set up uppercuts.
22:56The farther in this fight goes, because the pressure's only going to get more consistent.
23:01And hooks like that, those are the two best punches from Montes Stenionis.
23:04So the uppercuts and hooks, the longer this fight goes, the more violent it's going to get.
23:10You heard Drom Vucs and his father tell him, hey, he's ducking his head.
23:14Try and catch him with that uppercut.
23:15Yeah, that's what, that's how you turn that high guard, that peekaboo defense against him.
23:20He hunches over and he has a, there's a, there's a way for the uppercut to land.
23:25He's been able to keep Stenionis at bay with that long jab.
23:34Yeah, which is, fended off the jab of Stenionis, which is his best weapon.
23:39He's one of the best jabbers in all of boxing.
23:41Lands about 10 jabs per round, connects at about a 36% connect rate.
23:45That's a major weapon for him, not just in scoring shots, but setting up other bets.
23:50Not only that, but then, you know, you're using your advantages, your height, your six-inch reach.
23:54That's what you want to do if you're a boost right now.
23:56Keep this fight in the middle, stay off the ropes and keep popping that jab.
23:59And looking for that left uppercut.
24:05See, this is going to be a fight where, of course, the matador is going to have the advantage over the bull
24:11because the bull has slower feet.
24:12Stenionis has slower feet, flatter feet, and he cuts off the ring really great going to his right.
24:17But if the southpaw blitz going to his right, it's not a, it's not a, he's not as easy as cutting off the ring going to the left.
24:29So you can see right there, when Boots went to his left, he kind of tripped up a little bit, Stenionis.
24:37This is the ninth consecutive fight in which Stenionis is facing both height and reach disadvantages.
24:43And it's two inches taller, six-inch reach advantage.
24:46Nice left from Stenionis.
24:48And then a right.
24:49And that's the criticism we have landed.
24:51It was a beautiful combination, throw five, six punches, but got hit with one big shot.
24:55That's the end, Boots landed a good body shot there in that exchange.
24:59This is the fight we thought we'd see.
25:02Stenionis constantly trying to come forward and Ennis trying to cut him off at the bat.
25:06Yeah, no feeling out between these two guys, just going straight at it.
25:14Stiff jab from Stenionis, who says boxing is all about timing.
25:19Everything revolves around that shotgun jab of Stenionis.
25:23But if he can't have a stationary target to land, it's going to be a lot harder to track down Ennis.
25:28That was another good body shot.
25:30Left hand, right and the breath pass.
25:33It's going to be all body shots, man.
25:35That's how you're going to slow down this tank.
25:37It's those body shots, those jabs.
25:39Movement.
25:39Lateral.
25:40Moving to your left.
25:41Right.
25:41Switching orthodox.
25:42Southpaw, showing everything you've got.
25:45Stenionis coming off a 336-day absence.
25:53Only a second fight in three years.
26:04Down!
26:04Fight Night on DAZN, brought to you by that prize guy.
26:14Look, Stenionis right there, he should be aiming for the body.
26:18Even though he landed a good head shot right there, that's what Boots is guilty of.
26:23He leaves a head and chin a little bit too exposed, but this is also what Boots is known for.
26:27Vicious counter shots like that.
26:29Running shots.
26:31Beautiful uppercut.
26:32If that would have landed a chin, that would have done a lot more damage.
26:34He can expect more uppercuts and sharp counterpunching by Ennis.
26:39Chris, is this fight starting the way you thought it might?
26:41Starting a little bit faster, but it's evolving into the fight.
26:44I think I expect it and most people expect it.
26:46Good advice between rounds in the corner of Amatis, Danny Ennis.
26:50Marvin Simodio, his longtime trainer, saying if you're going to throw that jab,
26:53you've got to throw something else behind you.
26:55You've got to let your hands go when you're exchanging.
26:57There's those jabs you were calling for earlier from Stanionis, Sergio.
27:06Yeah, but see, he needs to do it.
27:09He needs to punch with Ennis.
27:10Ennis has a slightly faster hand.
27:12So if you're going to be...
27:14Stanionis is either blocking or he's jabbing.
27:16He's going to have to do a little bit of bolt at the same time.
27:22Trying that wind-up uppercut, did Ennis.
27:24That's going to be his punch, no doubt about it.
27:26Now, Ennis is just...
27:27He's shining right now, man.
27:29I mean, everything's just so smooth.
27:31He's not overloading on punches, either.
27:32It feels like we're seeing a decreased output from Stanionis
27:41that we've seen in previous fights.
27:43He's still walking Boots down, but unlike what we saw
27:46against Butaev and Maestrei,
27:48he's not letting his hands go in those situations.
27:50Boots is getting a little cute here, isn't he?
27:53They need a right hand there in the corner.
27:54I mean, that's how he always plays.
27:56Oh, he's not left-handed, they're going to call it a knockdown.
27:58No, he says it's behind the head.
28:00A lot of the Lithuanians here in the arena,
28:03and there are a pretty good contingent of them
28:05voicing their displeasure.
28:08No, Boots is so talented that he just takes his talent for granted, man.
28:12And sometimes he just gets a little, I guess, lazy is a word,
28:15but a little overconfident, and that's when he can get checked.
28:20And that left uppercut is landing consistently.
28:24Those are hard shots by Ennis.
28:30See, that's the problem with that high-guard defense.
28:33You know, defense like Winky Wright had,
28:34and fighters like Ike Korte and Cloudy,
28:37they didn't get knocked out.
28:39You know, guys like that didn't get knocked out,
28:40but they got boozed up, they got beat,
28:42they got out-pointed by fighters that are content,
28:45hitting the gloves, going around the gloves,
28:46and, of course, stabbing the body.
28:50Boots' team felt that...
28:51Oh, nice jab there from Stonionis.
28:54Boots' team felt that Stonionis could bring out the best of Ennis,
28:58that we haven't seen the best of Boots yet
29:00because no one has taken him to that next level.
29:03Can this Lithuanian be the man to do it?
29:06He's grinding and lands a right hand,
29:07but a counter left for Boots!
29:09And that's what Stonionis needs to do.
29:10He landed a counter right on his own.
29:12He punched with Boots.
29:13He's going to have to go through the fire.
29:15Both of them landed, big right hands.
29:18Boots clearly has more pop.
29:20That's for sure.
29:2129 knockouts in his 33 wins.
29:23Listen, when you inside,
29:51when you inside,
29:53I want you to head his hand up
29:58and rip the uppercut up
30:00and bring that back up.
30:01Tune your throw up, bring it back up.
30:03Keep using that jab, Boots.
30:05Let me see some spray shots sometime.
30:07There's that shot.
30:10That's what they're telling him right now.
30:12You've got to be careful with those shots going up top,
30:14especially when you're against the ropes.
30:16But I love these uppercuts that he's throwing from far,
30:20but he needs to set up those uppercuts.
30:23And you can see that left hook around the head,
30:26pushing him down.
30:26That was no knockout.
30:27Good call by the referee.
30:31But right there, that's what he needs to be leery of,
30:34just keeping the head in the exact same place.
30:35More upper body movement for Mendes
30:37and, of course, keep popping that jab.
30:42Three entertaining rounds so far.
30:45Chris, has Stanionis won any of them?
30:48No, I thought third round was probably his best round
30:50in terms of landed punches,
30:51but I think so far it's been a boot set.
30:54His fight, three rounds, the num, 30 to 27.
30:57His power is just a difference maker at this stage.
31:01Footwork is a difference in this stage, Chris.
31:03I'm telling you, this is a fight.
31:04You've got to land punches, though.
31:05You've got to throw punches.
31:06No, I hear you, but Stanionis can't land a punch
31:08because he can't track down Boots.
31:09The only time he does land is when he throws with him
31:11and they're both stationary.
31:13Good body shot there by Boots.
31:15Yeah, these investments to the body,
31:17if they keep up, they're going to pay off
31:18in the later rounds.
31:19Stanionis just looks so much smaller
31:22than Boots in there right now.
31:24He's used to that, though.
31:34Stanionis was scheduled to face
31:35Virgil Ortiz Jr. three times.
31:37We talk about Boots avoiding him.
31:39Stanionis had a bout on the first date
31:40because of an emergency appendectomy,
31:43and the next two bouts canceled
31:44after Virgil Ortiz Jr. dealt with illness.
31:47And see, there's another fighter
31:48Virgil Ortiz that has that high-guard defense
31:51and the same output,
31:52only he doesn't have the same jab
31:54that Stanionis had.
31:55That would have been a monster fight, man,
31:57because right now,
31:58Boots not only has the defense,
32:00the footwork,
32:00but the accuracy and power behind it.
32:06Good right hand from Stanionis.
32:08He's getting his shots in, Chris.
32:10It's just not nearly the same power
32:12that Ennis has on him.
32:14Yeah, he's got to put his combinations together
32:15a little bit more.
32:16It's the body work of Boots out.
32:17It's so impressive at this stage,
32:19and he is one of the better body punchers
32:21in all the box.
32:22He's digging down there.
32:28And look, it's slyly switching back
32:30to orthodox stance right now.
32:31Looks like a small cut
32:33over the right eye
32:33or under the right eye
32:34of Stanionis.
32:37Yeah, Stanionis said he prepared
32:39for both styles,
32:40brought in southpaws
32:40and orthodox fighters,
32:42lots of them
32:42to prepare for this fight.
32:43Yeah, but none of them
32:44have this kind of
32:45naturally gifted ability, man.
32:47I mean,
32:48speed, power,
32:50long arms.
32:53It was a beautiful,
32:54beautiful
32:55boxing punch right here.
32:58Boots has told us,
32:59listen, tonight's going to be
33:00my crowning achievement,
33:01my biggest moment.
33:03He envisions himself
33:04finishing Stanionis
33:06and celebrating
33:07in front of this
33:08very pro Boots crowd,
33:10and he's given him plenty
33:11to cheer about
33:11offensively
33:12and defensively.
33:13He is schooling
33:14Stanionis so far
33:15as far as making a miss.
33:17I mean,
33:17you don't make champions miss
33:19three, four punches
33:20in a row like that.
33:24Career-high payday
33:25for Stanionis.
33:26This is his moment.
33:30Can he cash in?
33:31He's got work to do.
33:32Down!
33:41April 26th,
33:42an old rivalry
33:42will be settled
33:43following their
33:44bad temper buildup,
33:46which of course
33:46involved a smashed egg
33:48on the face
33:49of Connor Benn.
33:50Chris Eubank-Juter,
33:52Connor Benn,
33:52squaring off
33:53in front of a sellout crowd
33:54at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium
33:56in London.
33:56You can see it.
33:57Fatal Fury.
33:58Eubank bid.
33:59Buy it now
34:00on DAZN.com.
34:01I don't want to get caught.
34:07If you're not ready,
34:11remember,
34:11if you're not ready,
34:12don't chase it.
34:13Just stay in the middle.
34:15Recover nice and loose
34:16and start with a jam.
34:17Okay?
34:18Don't wait too long.
34:19If you're,
34:20you're sure.
34:20Like,
34:20you don't need to be punctured.
34:22Get through the budget
34:23so we don't stop it.
34:24Let's go!
34:25Let's go!
34:25Let's go!
34:25Let's go!
34:26Let's go!
34:38Round five.
34:40Sergio,
34:41what would your advice be
34:42to Amane Estonianos
34:43right now
34:43if you were in his corner?
34:44Well,
34:45you gotta get physical.
34:46You gotta get in there.
34:46You gotta fight fire with fire,
34:48man.
34:48You gotta get hit
34:49on the way in
34:49but you have the white shoulders.
34:52You have those big biceps
34:53and forearms.
34:54You have that high guard.
34:56Take the chances
34:56and once you're in there,
34:57you gotta let it rip,
34:58man,
34:58and especially downstairs.
35:01You gotta bang away
35:01at the body,
35:02the ribs,
35:02anything that Boots gives you.
35:04Yeah,
35:05haven't seen a lot of body work
35:06from Estonianos.
35:06Certainly not to the level
35:07that we've seen from Boots.
35:10Kazanis is not allowing him.
35:11He's maintaining that range
35:12and distance
35:12with that long jab
35:14and, of course,
35:15that sharp upper body movement.
35:17I mean,
35:18look at that defense.
35:19There's Estonianos
35:20throwing some shots
35:21to the waistband.
35:25Trying to grind out
35:26some opportunities
35:27here in the corner.
35:28Look at the total punches landed.
35:30Ennis has landed 10 more.
35:37Power punches landed
35:39over double for Boots,
35:4135 compared to 14.
35:46Good right hand
35:47from Amonis.
35:48Good shot right there.
35:49And it downstairs,
35:50upstairs.
35:51That's what you wanted to see
35:52when he got inside.
35:53That's exactly what he needs to do.
35:54And what Boots needed to do,
35:55better pick up that left hand.
35:57Oh, nice left.
35:57This is the best round
35:58for Estonianos
35:59by far.
36:01Boots better pick up
36:02that left hand.
36:02He's getting lazy
36:03with that,
36:03dropping that hand.
36:04Estonianos is catching on now.
36:06He caught on to the speed now
36:07and the timing.
36:08And the timing.
36:12Good body shot there
36:14by Boots.
36:20Estonianos,
36:22the WBA
36:22welterweight champion.
36:27Fighting for the ring belt,
36:28the lineal championship.
36:29That's become the gold standard
36:32in this sport.
36:36I didn't think
36:36Ennis was going to have this
36:38easy of a time
36:39out jabbing Estonianos.
36:41Estonianos has one of the best jabs
36:42in boxing,
36:43in the business.
36:44He's winning this round though.
36:47That's right,
36:48he's doing well.
36:50There's that uppercut.
36:52Estonianos blocking
36:53those punches
36:53but they're so powerful
36:54they're still seemingly
36:55doing some damage
36:56backing him up.
36:57And there's a bloody nose
36:58now as he lands
36:59a right hand
37:00but eats the left
37:01of his own.
37:02Boots coming on here
37:03as Estonianos
37:04covers up.
37:06He's turning into
37:06a bloody mess.
37:07Boots so relaxed
37:14in there.
37:15In the line of fire
37:16man,
37:17I can't believe
37:17how relaxed
37:18this man is.
37:19It's incredible
37:20watching this.
37:21It's like he's
37:21fighting Estonianos
37:23in slow motion.
37:24He can see everything
37:25coming man.
37:26He's like Neo
37:26the Matrix in there.
37:28Dodging bullets,
37:29dodging punches,
37:30looking sharp.
37:37He's coming in there.
37:49He's coming in there.
38:00Nice right hand right there landed by San Ionis.
38:21Sometimes Ennis rolls with those punches, you know, taking the power away from the punch,
38:25but most of the time they're landing pretty cleanly, but I think he's still doing the better punching,
38:29and you can see it by the blood in the nose of Stan Ionis, and the fact he finally had to take a step back.
38:34Yeah, I thought that was a very good round for Armata Stan Ionis, right up until the final 30, 40 seconds
38:40when Buchanan started to tee off and really opened up the blood coming from that nose.
38:44So evening a round that Stan Ionis may have won, he took a lot of punishment.
38:48I agree, yep.
38:49Yeah, and the two guys walking back to the ring, walking back to the corners,
38:52you know the judges are looking at Stan Ionis pouring blood out of his nose.
38:55Boots still looks as fresh as a daisy in there.
39:04I feel like Stan Ionis is doing everything he can, Sergio.
39:07I mean, he's giving it his all.
39:09Well, just levels to championship boxing, man.
39:11I mean, it's just how incredible Boots is.
39:15I mean, it really is amazing watching this man up close,
39:18because he's not running, he's not boxing, he's staying in the pocket looking for punches.
39:23He's punching in between the shots, risking danger.
39:27There's your total punches landed in that last round.
39:29That feels a bit skewed.
39:3119 of 68 from Ionis.
39:3310 of 31 for Stan Ionis.
39:36And notice, look, as soon as Boots gets near the ropes,
39:39he goes right back to the middle of the ring.
39:40That's another thing that Stan Ionis has had been issues with.
39:46You know, he can't keep someone in the same space.
39:49He can't get them against the ropes.
39:51Big swing and a miss there from Stan Ionis.
39:56His Boots fighting out in a southpaw stance now.
39:59We're doing that front foot battle.
40:03You really put your opponent at a disadvantage
40:06if you can step on top of his foot as you're throwing a punch.
40:10It's harder for him to move out of the way.
40:13You know, Boots is the sharper fighter,
40:15in part because he is most definitely the most more active of the two fighters.
40:19Even though the two fights last year weren't his best performance,
40:22he's still got two fights in.
40:23Amatis Stan Ionis only got one,
40:25and that was off for the entire year before that.
40:28So he's had to battle stops and starts in training camps,
40:31ring rust that he admitted affected him in the Maestrade fight.
40:35You know, we talk all the time, Sergio, activity does matter.
40:38And I think as this fight progresses, it's going to matter even more.
40:41You know, activity matters, especially for boxers,
40:43but, you know, whenever you have the style of Stan Ionis,
40:46you would think that it doesn't bother you as much.
40:48I think the footwork is bothering Stan Ionis.
40:51The fact that he can't compete with the foot speed of Ionis.
40:54And look, there's body shots right there.
40:56That's Stan Ionis' kryptonite, I believe.
40:59Yeah, he's shrinking, and now Boots tee it off for the left uppercut,
41:02and down goes Stan Ionis.
41:04He softened him up to the body and came up with the uppercut.
41:07Boots knows exactly what he's doing.
41:09He's breaking down, Stan Ionis.
41:11You want to change him? Step this way.
41:12The face tells the tale.
41:14Blood everywhere, and the body's not doing much better.
41:18Can Boots seal the deal here in round six?
41:22Ten seconds to go.
41:23Don Ionis still in there slinging his guns.
41:39And he'll make it to the end of the round.
41:41Richardson Hitchens, Shakur Stevenson in the front row appreciating what Boots is doing here tonight.
41:55And they're going to wave it off.
42:19They have waved it off.
42:22Stan Ionis' corner has seen enough.
42:24As Gerard Boots Ennis gets his crowning moment, the defining win of his career,
42:31and he's done it right here in Atlantic City.
42:35No mas for the Lithuanian, and man, that was a beatdown,
42:39a professional championship-style beatdown by Boots Ennis, man.
42:43That was surgical, accurate.
42:46Man, this is great.
42:48This is greatness we're watching, greatness in the making.
42:51Let me tell you something.
42:54Boots look fantastic tonight.
42:56Sergio, if he takes that skill and that style up a weight class, I'm not sure he's not the best in that division, too.
43:02That's what I'm talking about, Todd.
43:03This is greatness we're watching, man.
43:05And look, with a guy like this, he needs a guy that brings it out of him.
43:10You know, Karin Chuqazian wasn't going to bring it out of Boots after 24 rounds.
43:14But a champion like San Yonis that was unblemished, unbeaten, so confident, everything going for him,
43:19that's what brings out the horse and the thoroughbred out of a fighter like Gerard Boots Ennis.
43:26And what do you think about the corners stopping it right there?
43:28They knew they're all class.
43:29I think Simodio knows.
43:31Marvin Simodio in the corner of San Yonis.
43:34I mean, he comes from the wild card gym.
43:35He comes from the school as a protege of Freddie Roach.
43:38He knows what beatdowns do.
43:39He knows what one fight can actually set back a fighter.
43:43It was only a matter of time, man.
43:44That was just surgical.
43:47Let's show you how the stoppage happened, the conversation with Stoney Onis.
43:53He didn't seem to put up much of an argument, did he?
43:55He knew he was a beat, man, and that's a man that's going to be a father any day now, man,
44:00and health comes first.
44:01He knows he got outclassed by a better man tonight, and there's no shame in that.
44:06Boots Ennis said, I want to be undisputed in the welterweight division.
44:13He's got two of the belts, only two more to go.
44:18And that's the moment that Geron Ennis picked up his 34th win.
44:24He's got 30 knockouts now, and there's not going to be a lot of criticism for Boots after this one.
44:29No, it's not.
44:30And like he said, I'm going to show y'all.
44:34Yeah, he showed everyone all right.
44:37Said he would prove that he's the best in the world, and if you're Brian Norman Jr., Mario Barrios, you're looking at this.
44:43I don't know if they're going to be clamoring to get in the ring anytime soon with him.
44:47I don't think they're going to want to get in with this monster, man.
44:50But look, Brian Norman Jr., I think he would compete as far as punching with Boots
44:55and as far as the power that it brings with him and the heart and the willingness to trade.
45:00But Mario Barrios, I think, will be a step down for a talent like Ennis.
45:05Another fantastic fight coming your way Friday, May 2nd from New York City.
45:13Ryan Garcia and Roley Romero in New York Times Square on DAZN pay-per-view.
45:18Also on the card, Devin Haney and Jose Ramirez and Tiafema Lopez and Arnold Barbosa Jr.
45:24that's available to buy soon.
45:37David Diamante makes it official.
45:39Ladies and gentlemen, referee David Fields calls a halt to this contest.
45:51The official time of the stoppage.
45:55Three minutes of round number six, declaring a winner by TKO.
46:01He's still undefeated.
46:03He's still the IBF and the new unified WBA and Ring Magazine welterweight champion of the world,
46:14Duran Boots, Eddie!
46:24Well, Sergio, if Boots is going to get those opportunities against the two other champions,
46:28they're going to have to put on a lot of money for matchroom.
46:30Eddie Hearn's going to have to open up the pocketbook.
46:33How do you convince one of those guys who you think aren't even as good as Stani Onis
46:37to step in the ring against this killer?
46:40Money talks, man.
46:41And look, if anyone has that treasure chest of money, it's matchroom and Eddie Hearn.
46:44I think they want to become...
46:46Jared Anderson has a large...
46:49He has a long way to go, but he has a lot of belts to pick up in many divisions.
46:54This is a multi-division talent that we had here, so it's worth investing, man.
46:58I mean, this is a guy that's going to be special.
47:00One of the all-time greats, man.
47:02I could just see it.
47:04Well, let's hear what he has to say.
47:05He's standing by with Chris Mannix.
47:09Boots, congratulations.
47:12You got three pieces of hardware now around your waist.
47:15Now the unified champion.
47:16Yeah.
47:17You said you wanted to make a statement tonight here in the ring.
47:19Show that you were still one of the best in the world.
47:22Was that the statement you were looking for?
47:23Yeah, I mean, I think I did, but I want to go back and watch it.
47:27You know, I feel like I was, you know, just getting in my groove, starting to get loose and having fun.
47:31And my dad told me, just keep pressing, you're going to stop me.
47:33And what's crazy was I had a dream that I was going to stop him just like this in the seventh round.
47:38But, you know, things happened.
47:39It came true.
47:40That was a terrific fighter you had in front of you.
47:42Undefeated guy, former Olympian.
47:44You might have won every single round plus that 10-8 round.
47:47What was working for you in the ring tonight?
47:49The biggest part was just me having my fun, being myself, and having a live body in front of me.
47:54When I got a live body in front of me, I see what happened.
47:57I put on a show.
47:59I had my fun.
48:00I showed you speed, power, defense.
48:02I showed you a little bit of inside game.
48:03I showed you everything.
48:03You know, I feel like, like I said, when I got a live body in front of me, it's a whole different story.
48:07You're going to see a whole different boots, and I'm going to keep taking it to the next level.
48:10Body shots in this game are an investment.
48:12You were invested in that body very early in this fight.
48:15Could you feel yourself softening him up as the rounds went on?
48:17Yeah, I felt him softening him up.
48:19I feel like I can go to the body as much as I wanted to.
48:21He was, like, he was much shorter in the ring.
48:24Like, the way he fight, he, like, knilled down.
48:26So when I was trying to really go to his body, it was like, I was like, I got to switch it up.
48:29I got to give something different.
48:30So, you know, and I did that, and I still found a way to get to that body still.
48:34You know, yeah, it's that time.
48:36You were already a recognized world champion.
48:39Why was it so important to you to win a title in the ring?
48:43It was very important for me.
48:44You know, like I said before, this IBI belt right here, I was the interim champ, and I was elevated.
48:49I woke up one morning, and I was world champion.
48:51I never actually fought for this belt, you know, and I finally was able to fight for the WBA or fight for another title
48:56and take it from the man and beat him.
48:59You know, it's a blessing, you know, and that's everything I always wanted, you know,
49:02and it felt way better than sitting in the bed, waking up, and I was the IBM champ.
49:08Did it surprise you at all that he didn't come out for that last round?
49:12No, I mean, he's a great fighter.
49:14You know, he's a good guy, you know, but like I said, every round, I just was getting in my bed,
49:18getting in my groove, loosening up, having fun, and I feel like I was just picking it up, picking it up, picking it up,
49:23and yeah, you faced some criticism over the last few months, criticism that I know bothered you.
49:29How much of that did you bring into the ring tonight?
49:32I definitely brought some of that in here with me, you know, it still ain't seen nothing yet, though, you know.
49:37I got a long way to go, you know, I'm just getting started, the party just getting started.
49:41Three belts now around your waist.
49:43Is it more belts, or is it move up?
49:46You know, I'm going to enjoy my victory, you know, enjoy these belts, you know, take some time with the fam,
49:51talk to the team, and we're going to see what's next.
49:54Is becoming undisputed, though, part of your plan?
49:57We'll see.
49:58You know, like I said, we'll see.
49:58Let me enjoy this victory, you know, chill with my fam, and talk to my dad, my team,
50:04and make sure you all come to that at the party, meet me at the spot.
50:08Congratulations, Boots.
50:09I appreciate everybody coming out, Philly, Jersey, Tri-State, New York, Delaware, Baltimore, D.C.,
50:17if I'm missing anybody, everybody that traveled all over,
50:20even Lithuanian people.
50:22I want to thank Eddie, Mattron, appreciate y'all.
50:25You know, many more things to come, many more buses to come.
50:28Shout out to my brother, too.
50:29No question about that.
50:30Congratulations.
50:31Well done.
50:31Eddie, we'll bring you in here.
50:32And, Eddie, you said to me before this fight you wanted to see this man make a statement.
50:37Was that what you wanted to see?
50:38What a wonderful, humble man.
50:40Not from me.
50:41Tear up the pound-for-pound list.
50:43This is one of the finest fighters in the sport.
50:45Tonight, that was a performance of one of the best fighters in the sport of boxing.
50:51Now the Unified World Champion, Ring Magazine Champion, by far the best fighter in the division.
50:56He's going to be around for a long time.
50:5747, 54, 60.
50:59It's all coming.
51:01You're witnessing true greatness.
51:03Now he'll make his way onto the pound-for-pound list.
51:06We've got to fight the other champions.
51:07The future is so bright.
51:08He's the future of the sport of boxing.
51:10And what a great man from a great city in Philadelphia.
51:12You should all be so proud of him because he carries your city around with him everywhere he goes.
51:17We'll be back in Philly soon.
51:18But tonight, I'm walking away.
51:20We've been saying for a while, we want a performance where we can stand on the ropes and scream and shout that this is the best fighter in the world.
51:26We got all of that tonight against a great champion.
51:28It was the best be the best, but it was a walk in the park for true greatness.
51:33A true pound-for-pound star in Duran Ennis.
51:35It's going to be around for a long time.
51:36I would say, Boots, you've learned not to make any predictions immediately after the fight from what happened the last time.
51:42But, Eddie, you're going to be making some decisions, helping him make those decisions.
51:45What's your first call on Monday?
51:47Listen, the first call is Boots wanted to unify.
51:50He wanted to fight as the champions.
51:52People criticized him about not moving up and not fighting for a belt.
51:55He said, all I want to do is fight the champions, win other belts.
51:59We stayed patient, and it paid off tonight.
52:01Now, we'll sit as a team, Bozy, Everett, got such a great team of people.
52:06And, by the way, this is a guy that's tracing greatness.
52:08He's making money, and the money will come.
52:10But that's not the important thing to Boots Ennis.
52:12It's about legacy, and it's about proving to everyone that he's the best fighter in the world.
52:16And he's a joy to work with, because all he wants to do is give the fans the best fights.
52:21And he will do that consistently over the next five, six, seven years.
52:25This is a true, true champion.
52:26And what you saw tonight was just a snippet of what's to come.
52:30There's so many names I want to call out, but I'm not going to do it.
52:32Tonight belongs to Jerron Ennis.
52:34What a star, what a fighter.
52:36You got it.
52:36Congratulations, Eddie.
52:37Congratulations, Boots.
52:38Phenomenal performance.
52:41Phenomenal indeed.
52:43And, Sergio, as I mentioned a little earlier, I don't know who's going to be jumping up and down saying,
52:47I want Boots next.
52:48Nobody.
52:49And that's the reason, you know, they haven't been.
52:51For a long time, man, for a long time, Boots has been under the radar.
52:55You know, only the people that know the sport really well, people on this side of the East Coast of Philly,
53:00know what this man could do.
53:01All he needed was a promoter.
53:02All he needed was the stage and the slot on these events to shine, man.
53:08And that's exactly what he did.
53:09That's a dangerous guy, man.
53:11No one's going to want to call that guy out.
53:12Well, Eddie Hearn is his promoter, and his job is to promote Boots.
53:16And as he said now, he should be on the top ten pound for pound list.
53:19I agree.
53:20Well, who are you booting off?
53:22Nakatani, Benavidez, Gervonta Davis?
53:24Listen, man, that's a unified champion right there.
53:26I'm knocking off Tank Davis.
53:27That's the first one I'm knocking off because Tank Davis has yet to, you know, do it on the championship level.
53:32He's not even picking off champions.
53:33This guy just picked off a legitimate one.
53:36Chris Mannix joining in his back ringside.
53:37I just asked Sergio, do you agree with Eddie Hearn that this man now should be on the top ten pound for pound list?
53:42I think he's flirting with it.
53:43No question about that.
53:45Top 15, certainly inside that top 20.
53:48That was the performance that we had come to expect from Boots Ennis when he was beating guys like Sergey Lipinets and Roy Monvilla.
53:57You know, a few bumps on the road last year, but now this win against a very good fighter.
54:01Make no mistake, Amata Stanionis is an excellent fighter, and Boots made it look easy in there in the ring.
54:07That is certainly going to elevate him on the pound for pound list, and I think there'll be some people that give him strong consideration.
54:12Well, let's show you again how he got it done.
54:16Stanionis gave it all he had, Sergio, but all he had wasn't good enough.
54:20He got it done.
54:21Boots got it done by softening up this guy to the body.
54:24You know, the thing about Stanionis is that high guards will get him in trouble because he exposes too much body.
54:31Look, see those stabbing shots to the midsection?
54:34That was slowly taking away the legs and the conditioning and opening up uppercuts and coming around the ground, busting up the nose of him off to Stanionis.
54:43And look, not forgetting the body on both sides, touching him up, coming upstairs.
54:47And this is when he knew Stanionis was looking for a way out, and Boots made Stanionis take a knee, man.
54:53He forced him to put the knee in Stanionis.
54:56And then the corner doing what I think everybody would agree was the right thing to say, hey, we don't have a path to victory.
55:05Let's get out while we're still relatively healthy.
55:07And Ennis gets his moment.
55:09He mentioned that he was, in some regards, felt like a paper champion.
55:13The title was handed to him.
55:14Tonight, he earned the unification, including the Ring Magazine belt.
55:20Eddie Hearn said, I don't want to call out names.
55:22Boots didn't want to call out names.
55:23Chris, if you're the kingmaker, who's he fighting next?
55:26I'll call it a name.
55:27Brian Norman.
55:29147-pound champion.
55:30Just fought a couple of weeks ago.
55:32I thought Brian Norman would be here tonight.
55:34Apparently, he's on vacation, just coming off a fight.
55:37Fine.
55:38I still would have wanted to be here to be in a position to build up a potential Boots fight.
55:42But those are two.
55:43Didn't they offer him a lot of money already?
55:44He turned it down?
55:45They made him an offer.
55:45But look, if you're Brian Norman's team, you're probably going to get more money if that offer comes around again for this summer.
55:50That would be my preference.
55:51It's Boots Ennis against Brian Norman, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
55:55Two undefeated, top-level guys.
55:58I would love to see that fight next.
55:59Sign me up.
56:00That's exactly what needs to happen next.
56:01Look, I'll credit to Mario Barrios, but he's already been beat on the top level.
56:06I want another version of what we just saw.
56:09Two undefeated champions going at it to collect all the belts.
56:12Let me say this.
56:13If he fights Norman Jr., Boots will probably be an 8-1 favorite, 6-7-1 favorite.
56:18I want Virgil Ortiz Jr.
56:19Why not?
56:20Make the jump.
56:21Make the money.
56:22That is a big, big, mega money fight.
56:25Yeah, but I don't think that—look, I'm not poo-pooing that fight.
56:27I would still want to see it.
56:29I don't think that fight's going anywhere.
56:30I think Virgil is going to keep winning, still be on top,
56:33but I think that fight could happen at 154 down the road.
56:36Here are the power punches landed.
56:39Boots, 65 of 198 for a 33% clip.
56:43Stanionis landed 29 of them.
56:45Some good, good shots for the Lithuanian,
56:48but it just didn't slow the freight train down.
56:51That is Boots Ennis.
