00:00Ladies and gentlemen from Birmingham England live on DAZN, it's now time for the Chiefs support of the evening.
00:11Twelve rounds of boxing scheduled for the British Welterweight Championship.
00:18Set to make his ring walk, fighting out of Middleton, Manchester, the challenger, Liam Taylor.
00:30He's brought a fair amount of support and five and a half years after being so close to lifting the British title,
00:45Liam Taylor has his second little dream chance. Refreshed, ready, finding himself in a much better place personally
00:55and racking up the wins and some momentum. It's time to find out if the former European title challenger, can Darren become a domestic champion?
01:05Yeah, it's a dream of his. To lift that Lonsdale belt a lot. So you know he's going to give it absolutely everything.
01:15Good last time out against Jamie Stewart after a year out. But this is his big moment, his big acid test.
01:22And now entering the arena, please welcome the defending champion, fighting out of Wolverhampton,
01:32the champion champion, the champion champion.
01:38I'm not going to be able to win. I'm not going to be able to win.
01:42I'm not going to be able to win. I'm not going to be able to win.
01:45And I found it. I found the shot. That's a real time. That shot won't come.
01:50Let's go baby. Let's go baby. One of the most popular characters on our current scene.
02:07There he is with nephew William. It's Connor Walker.
02:13There he is.
02:34Wonderful pictures. It's a great story. He was turfed out of school as a kid.
02:40And like so many before him, found boxing to straighten out his life.
02:46He's grown of age this year, former area champion, digging deep, very deep,
02:52to stun Harry's scarf and capture serious titles.
02:56The ambition was to become a British champion. Now he feels he can go further.
03:01Ladies and gentlemen from Birmingham England and live on the zone.
03:13It's now time for the chief support of the evening.
03:16And it's all being brought to you courtesy of Mr. Eddie Hearn of Matchroom Boxing.
03:21We're sponsored tonight by Betfred, Drip, Riyadh Season, Tom Insurance, That Prize Guy, Victory Live and Drip.
03:33This bout is sanctioned under the auspices of the British Boxing Board of Control.
03:39Your steward in charge is Charles Giles.
03:43Introducing your three judges going in this contest from ringside, all from England.
03:49Mark Bates, Steve Gray and Kevin Parker.
03:53And at the sound of the bell, your third man in the ring, aced a referee, Mr. Bob Williams.
03:59And now ladies and gentlemen, 12 rounds of boxing scheduled for the British Welterweight Championship.
04:12Introducing first, the challenger. He fights out of the right corner.
04:16He wears white and black trunks. Official weight, 10 stones, 6 pounds, 7 ounces.
04:22His professional record, 28 victories, 2 defeats, 1 draw, with 14 wins coming my way of knockout.
04:33Fighting out of Middleton, Manchester, here is the former WBO European welterweight champion,
04:41Liam Taylor!
04:47Taylor!
04:48And his opponent across the ring fighting out on the blue corner.
04:58He wears black and orange. He scaled 10 stones, 6 pounds, 8 ounces.
05:01His professional record, 15 victories, 3 defeats, 1 draw, with 6 wins coming my way of knockout.
05:12Fighting out of Wolverhampton, here is the reigning and defending British,
05:18with the late champion, Conor, the Wolf Walker!
05:28Walker!
05:35Okay, gentlemen, obey my commands.
05:38In the event of a knockdown, the fights are standing.
05:40We'll go to the furthest neutral corner and stay there.
05:42Protect yourself at all times.
05:44Touch gloves.
05:46First defence of the British tenstone title that Conor Walker won in spectacular fashion up in Nottingham.
05:54Now he's back nearer home.
05:56The chance to solidify this beautiful domestic belt.
06:00But challengers approve on the board rarely come easy.
06:04And Liam Taylor is highly regarded, well-schooled, and deserves this tilt.
06:10He's more than capable on his day, Taylor, to take this opportunity.
06:19And Sam Jones, Conor Walker's manager, was saying earlier, Conor always is in a tough fight.
06:25Now, this could be repeat of that.
06:30Taylor, if he finds his form, Darren, could win this.
06:34Yeah, and realise a dream.
06:37But he has to find something special, special.
06:39And I was speaking to Conor Walker this morning, and he believes that pace, tempo, is important here.
06:44And really try and empty the tank of Taylor.
06:48And one thing we know about Conor Walker is he does set a tremendous pace.
06:51And he works full out.
06:52Puts you under pressure when you're thrown.
06:55He keeps his hands tucked up nice and high.
06:57So he's going to have to pick his moments well here, like he just did there, Taylor.
07:01He has a good start, this, from Taylor.
07:04Steve Mailer and the team just alongside us from the finest gym in Manchester.
07:09Really fancy their chances here.
07:11Conor Walker's moved to Jamie Moore's stable.
07:15And Jamie said he's made a few little tweaks, but it's an interesting start, this, from Taylor, Sonny.
07:21He's found the uppercut a few times.
07:23I think so far Conor Walker doing a great job of making Liam Taylor punch.
07:27He's making him constantly reset, and he's making him punch to keep him off.
07:31And he's walking him down, not overloading too much.
07:33But if he keeps walking onto shots like those uppercuts we've seen already in the first part of this first round.
07:39Better jab from Walker.
07:41The body shots from Taylor, these two look well-matched in the early moments of this one.
07:49That's what he's got to try and do, Liam Taylor.
07:52Every time he's pushed back, try and circle back to the centre of the ring.
07:55Reset from the centre of the ring.
07:57You don't want to be pushed back constantly throughout this contest.
08:00He will walk you down if you allow him to, Walker.
08:03Really using his reach there well, I thought.
08:07Taylor.
08:09Body shots from Walker, though, Sonny, as well.
08:12But he knows Conor's walking forward, so he knows as soon as he gets to the edge of range,
08:16he can fold his shot.
08:17And because his reach is longer, he's getting to the target a little bit quicker at some points here so far.
08:23Both of them trading body shots early.
08:24Taylor maybe more in this first round, but it's already looking like an attritional battle here
08:32for the welterweight championship of Great Britain.
08:36Good work from both.
08:37Both landing good shots.
08:39It was a nice right uppercut, then he dropped a left to the body.
08:42Did Conor Walker, then back come Taylor.
08:44It's big in there, I must say, Taylor.
08:46He looks very big, and I like the start.
08:49He's four years older, but he's looking fresh, Taylor.
08:53Walker comes back with a jab, but more from the man from Middleton.
08:58Oh!
08:59And he gets caught right at the end of it.
09:01Good shot from Walker, very, very late in the first.
09:05And a hard, grueling three minutes.
09:08More of that, please.
09:17Fight night on DAZN, brought to you by that prize guy.
09:23Here's that uppercut we was talking about.
09:26Conor just letting him find the gap through the middle.
09:28A bit too easy on numerous occasions there.
09:30But I think, I think Conor finished really well.
09:33He just dipped his feet, held, and then changed his angle there, and he landed a nice clean left foot.
09:38We saw big Fraser Clarke arriving earlier, and Ben Whittaker is now in the building, the very building that he beat Liam Cameron in this round, the second round in their rematch.
09:51Another cracking night in Birmingham, and it's great to see Britain's second city alive with boxing, as Taylor lands an uppercut, and Walker comes back with jabs.
10:02This is good.
10:03He's really finding a way just to sneak the uppercut again, Liam Taylor has been his punch in the fight so far.
10:08Yeah, and then a stiff jab in reply from Walker.
10:12I like what he's doing, Liam Taylor, changing the levels.
10:15He'll start with a jab, he'll drop the right to the body, and then he'll come back upstairs with a left hook.
10:21So important to vary your attacks, as he does there, two to the body, finishes high with a left hook.
10:26He tucks up well, doesn't he, Walker?
10:31Just inching forward, Conor Walker.
10:34That jab is good.
10:35He was outboxed round after round by Harry Scarfe, and he came on late, and he showed everybody what he's made of, and this is good work from Walker here in the second.
10:45Fantastic jab, it really is a ramrod shot, he needs to sort of tuck those elbows in a little bit, Taylor, but I think he's wary of the left hook to the body that he throws so well, so he's just bringing those elbows a little while wide to protect himself from that shot.
11:01Taylor trying to come back with the body shots, he's got bags of experience in his 31 fights, but a bit of a stock start career, and needs real rhythm in this fight.
11:13That's better from Taylor.
11:15Nice body shot as well there for Taylor.
11:21It's the round where he came apart against David Avenizia, but Avenizia the world-class operator, and how much do the scars remain for Taylor?
11:31That was a few years back, and Walker just hunting him down.
11:35He's being made to work a lot, Taylor, trying to sort of push Walker off with the shot.
11:42He's getting made to walk a lot, and even that, it's good work from Taylor, but it does empty the tank.
11:48A smile there through the gun shield of Walker.
11:51He might know he's losing these first couple, but he might not mind that at all.
11:56Tess, the referee there, just to keep the punches up.
12:00Just a slight show out there from Liam Taylor.
12:03Doing a very good job here, Connor Walker, staying with him, keeping the pressure up, making Taylor work and fighting his pace.
12:11That was low.
12:13Bob Williams telling the corner to be quiet.
12:17He's going to give Liam Taylor a little time here and have a word, I think, with Connor Walker.
12:22Nothing malicious, of course.
12:36Just doing a game, down early, Taylor, springing in the hole.
12:40Punches from big angles.
12:44Right angles good from Taylor, could punch two with 14 knockouts on the record.
12:49But back comes Walker.
12:51What a great counter.
12:52It really has been looking physically very strong.
12:56Just landed a counter left hook there, Taylor.
12:58Brilliant two rounds here in Birmingham.
13:02Fabulous action on the zone.
13:03Fight night on the zone.
13:12Brought to you by that prize guy.
13:16Welcome back.
13:17Well, this has been savage the first six minutes, Sonny.
13:21Yeah, both fighters really trying to stamp their mark.
13:24Yeah, I think that was right for the referee.
13:26A couple of low shots landed there for Connor Walker.
13:28Second time.
13:29Two great rounds to start this fight.
13:31Six and a half years as a pro Connor Walker.
13:36Liam Taylor turnover back in October 2011.
13:39It's been a long road.
13:41He's won a WBO European title.
13:43But the British belt, the one that he wants, he's in the white and black.
13:48The black and orange of Connor Walker in his 20th fight.
13:52From Wolverhampton.
13:55Back almost on home territory.
13:57Territory after that win in Nottingham for British and Commonwealth belts.
14:04I think he's working well with Taylor on the back foot, but he's really being made to work.
14:10Looking so strong, Walker.
14:12He is at hand in the jab.
14:13So impressive from Walker.
14:15Just a couple of distress signals as well from Taylor.
14:19The low blows.
14:21There he just looks at the referee.
14:24And you wonder if it goes long and we know what Walker's like during battles.
14:31This is his bread and butter.
14:33And I think he's doing a lot of good work here with the lead hand, Connor.
14:37He's constantly just popping out.
14:38Constantly touching the target.
14:40Trying to get Taylor to throw a back of him so he can get a draw.
14:43And that was a good uppercut.
14:44Yeah, he slipped that through.
14:45A lot of work off the lead hand, though, for Connor Walker.
14:47Yeah, didn't load up with the shot, Walker.
14:50Very accurate.
14:52Oh, solid run-two.
14:54Back comes Taylor with a left hand of his own.
14:57I think Connor Walker's enjoying this.
14:59Jamie Moore, Connor's trainer, was telling me that he remembers Liam Taylor sparring with Tommy Coyle, his man.
15:06So he knows that Taylor camp and his qualities well.
15:11And he said it's going to be a really good fight.
15:15Yeah, you're right.
15:15I believe Walker's enjoying this.
15:19Marked in Taylor down.
15:21And in big shots.
15:22Good right hand to the body.
15:23Followed by a left hook upstairs from Walker.
15:26And you can see the game plan here.
15:28Really trying to drag Liam Taylor into deep halters from early on in the fight.
15:33Connor Walker has so much belief and confidence in his danger throughout the 12 rounds.
15:37There's some blood around the nose now as well for Liam Taylor.
15:41That's going to affect his breathing lovely body shot from Walker.
15:44Whipped him too.
15:45And there's the left hook upstairs.
15:47He's got to keep that right hand tight.
15:50Taylor has been caught with a couple of left hooks in that opening round.
15:53And again there.
15:55Good work though.
15:56On the back foot.
15:58A helter-skelter pace here.
16:00For the British welterweight crown.
16:02We're not even three rounds in.
16:04And these two have given us the right old brutal battle so far.
16:10Nose is gone of Liam Taylor.
16:12That's going to be really problematic for him.
16:15Lovely work with the right hand from Connor Walker there.
16:18Switching from body to head.
16:19Bringing up two uppercuts through the middle.
16:22And still he walks down Liam Taylor into the corner.
16:24If Taylor nicked the first couple.
16:26Walker's come right back at him in the third round.
16:29And Taylor sucking that punch his big right hand.
16:34And the battle.
16:35And it's all Connor Walker now.
16:41Now is that a key round?
16:43Jim Waddle has used to say to me Darren.
16:45There's a round in a fight that determines the outcome.
16:48Yeah you could be right there.
16:50Some big shots landing from Walker.
16:51You could see he knows he's put a dent in Taylor there.
16:54As he went back to the corner.
16:56Raised his arms.
16:57There's a smile a medicine look on the face of Walker.
17:00As he's walking through.
17:01Look at that shot Sonny.
17:02Creeping that right uppercut.
17:04Right through the guard.
17:05Fantastic.
17:06And Walker doing a fantastic job of making Taylor work.
17:09He's making him constantly hold his feet.
17:11And throw just to keep Connor Walker at bay.
17:14And as soon as he started seeing the chinks in the armhole.
17:16He upped it a little 10 or 15 percent Connor.
17:19And he looked very dangerous in there.
17:21Here's in that third round.
17:2210 seconds.
17:22Seconds out, round four.
17:29Hope you're enjoying this match and promotion live on DAZN.
17:36A fantastic battle here for the British welterweight crowd.
17:39Property of Connor Walker.
17:41The dream of Liam Taylor.
17:44Wolf on the back of those black trunks.
17:46For the 30 year old Walker.
17:48Who's just wrestled control here.
17:52Against Taylor.
17:53Who's firing back.
17:54And so determined to win this.
17:56But the smile tells you everything on Walker's face.
17:59And that's it.
18:00It's the big smile.
18:02And again.
18:03Oh.
18:03Good variation.
18:05Lovely.
18:05Right uppercut.
18:06Then the left to the body.
18:07Good work.
18:08And the problem right now for Taylor is.
18:10After he's doing that work like he just started the fourth round with.
18:13There's already a little signs of vulnerability when Connor Walker has his turn.
18:18He's got big thick legs as well Connor Walker.
18:22He's a stubborn fella.
18:24Never been stopped.
18:26He's not won everything.
18:28Three losses on the record.
18:30But he's found real momentum and form.
18:34Big mate of Brad Reyes.
18:36Who's fighting for a European title next week.
18:39Live on DAZN on the GBM show in Hull.
18:42So Walker this week.
18:44Reyes next week.
18:45It could be a double for the best mates.
18:47Look at the face of Taylor.
18:49Bloody battered already.
18:55Better uppercut there for Taylor.
18:57He threw it a few times earlier in this round.
18:59And Connor did a great job of covering up that one line to clean.
19:03Just that dab of blood by the left eye of Connor Walker.
19:06As Taylor digs in he'll have worked very, very hard.
19:09He knows this is probably his last opportunity at 34, Taylor.
19:14Just don't know if he can stay with this pace.
19:18That's good work.
19:19Just straightening up the shots there.
19:21Converting when he throws the shot straight, Taylor.
19:23If he can stay with the pace, wow.
19:27We could have an absolute thriller on our hands.
19:30The Lonsdale belt suddenly just dishes up something, doesn't it?
19:34It really does.
19:35It's always a dream for a young British fighter.
19:37We've seen all the champions from this country, this side of the world, come through that route.
19:43They all have, and most fighters when they take a clean shot, they take a backward step.
19:47Connor, he smiles.
19:50Arguably the most beautiful belt in the world.
19:53Maybe not quite as valuable as the Crawford Canelo one that was displayed this week.
19:58Pretty cool that.
19:59But the Lonsdale belt always been traditional, and coveted, and loved.
20:06Yeah, good work on the back foot from Taylor.
20:09But you just feel, again, it's taken a lot out of him.
20:11The head movement's better in this round from Walker.
20:15Keeps the hands nice and high.
20:17And again, just relentless pressure on that front foot from Walker.
20:23Marks over the left eye of Taylor.
20:26And swelling under the left eye of Walker.
20:30This is a right old dingo, and we're loving it.
20:33And I'm sure the three boys back there, Jamie, with you, are too.
20:37Okay, well, let's get the thoughts of the guest panel starting with Joe McGrail.
20:41Joe, this one's heating up.
20:42How are you seeing it?
20:43It's a good fight.
20:44I've got it two apiece.
20:47I think Taylor's boxing nice.
20:49He's letting his hands go well.
20:50But I think Connor Walker, his flesh is nice as well.
20:54So I like a bit of out there, and he's making a good fight here.
20:57And for you, Adam?
20:58Yeah, look, Liam Taylor, he's been putting the shots together nice.
21:02But Connor Walker just looks like he's taken over the fight from now.
21:07But he's proved it himself that he can come back from them.
21:10So Liam Taylor can do the same.
21:12It's one of them sports.
21:13What do you see being important outreabouts for both guys?
21:15To be honest, Connor Walker's been putting the pressure on,
21:18and I feel like he's going to take over the next half of the fight,
21:22especially the body work early on from both men as well.
21:24But I feel like Connor Walker will reap the rewards more of that.
21:28Great stuff, guys.
21:28Round five coming up.
21:30Three of our best young talents.
21:32Great to hear from them.
21:33I really agree with Joe there.
21:35I think it's two apiece here.
21:36I think it's nicely poised.
21:39But Connor Walker having the better of the last three or four minutes.
21:43Can Liam Taylor just sustain it?
21:46He might need a second wind or three in this.
21:50Yeah, that's the big question, Mark, for me here.
21:53Can he keep with this pace?
21:55And if he can, I mean, we're in for a real treat.
21:57But this is, as we've said before, Connor Walker's bread and butter.
22:01This is how he fights.
22:02This is his kind of fight.
22:06His pace.
22:07Against Lewis Ritson when he ground out that one
22:10against the former Newcastle favourite.
22:13He's just friendly on the eye, Connor.
22:16That's why he's got a lot of supporters.
22:18Manager Sam Jones sitting next to Eddie Erd.
22:20He's had two wins already on the card with Hamza Rudin
22:24and Pat Brown, who's next to him.
22:26He was absolutely stunning.
22:28Now for Connor Walker.
22:31It's really hard, I've said this before,
22:33to regulate your breathing when you're fighting at someone else's pace
22:36along with a busted nose.
22:39But this is really good work.
22:40Changing the levels again, though, Taylor.
22:43But still having to throw so many punches
22:46just to keep Connor Walker at bay.
22:48And he's putting so much energy into just keeping him off him
22:51that when Connor starts letting his hands go,
22:53he's far more fresh up.
22:56He's only ever lost two professional fights, though, Lee and Taylor.
23:01But he's under real onslaught.
23:03Comes back with a right hand,
23:04but it's this persistence of Connor Walker.
23:07Just won't go away.
23:09Won't leave him alone.
23:10You feel Taylor needs to try and put a dent in Walker,
23:19but he's got such a good chin.
23:21He really has.
23:23And he's so good with his shoulder rolling in,
23:25his little adjustment to Connor Walker as he's coming forward.
23:28Constantly changed.
23:28Oh, that was a good shot, though.
23:30Yeah, nice right hand from Taylor.
23:32And again, finding the arcing shots.
23:36He's popped nicely in this round.
23:38Oh!
23:39Yeah, and so did the corner.
23:41Giving him plenty of support.
23:43Steve Mayland and the team.
23:45He's been with him a long time.
23:47And he's in a good place in his life, Liam Taylor.
23:52Baby on the way.
23:54Knows now he needs this British title win.
24:03Good flooding jab from Walker.
24:06Keeping his shape well, though, Taylor.
24:08Under pressure here.
24:10Nice high guard.
24:11He's keeping that right hand a lot tighter now.
24:14Just thought about the uppercut, though, didn't he?
24:18Taylor, as Walker comes in,
24:20and he tries it again.
24:22Clever that from Liam Taylor.
24:24Remember, he's fought for a European title.
24:27Body shot from Taylor.
24:28Bet around this from the challenger.
24:32And he knows it.
24:39Well, he's breathing hard,
24:41but he pulled around out there, Liam Taylor.
24:43And this is a fabulous fight.
24:45He was stepping off.
24:46He was finding his feet.
24:48And really that time,
24:49just waiting for Walker to get to him.
24:51And as soon as he was getting anywhere close,
24:52he was just letting his hands go.
24:54And I don't know if the last couple of rounds
24:55for Conor made him switch off a little bit defensively
24:59as much as he was the last few rounds.
25:01And being as much in control of the range in between.
25:03But a much better round for Liam Taylor.
25:05Oh, man, the shots are blue.
25:09That body went in three times that round, yeah?
25:12Beautiful setting, the BB Pulse arena here in Birmingham.
25:34Ben Whittaker watching on at ringside.
25:40One of the stars of the area.
25:42Conor Walker has got a huge amount of support this year
25:46after that smash and grab win in Nottingham
25:48over Harry Scarf.
25:50Liam Taylor wants the big victory here.
25:53Just caught Tony Bellew's eye,
25:55and he's absolutely loving it.
25:56And he just bites as Walker comes back
26:00and lands a thudding shot.
26:01It was a good right hand.
26:02He took the sting out of the shot
26:03as he led back, though, Taylor.
26:04But still, very accurate.
26:06Just looking for a counter-left hook there, Taylor.
26:08I prefer it when he keeps the shot straight like that.
26:12You see in the replay there,
26:13that stabbing right to the body is a good shot.
26:15I don't like that he's landed a couple of those uppercuts,
26:18and you pointed one out in the previous round,
26:19but I worry because I think that the best shot,
26:22the money shot for Conor Walker is his left hook,
26:25and you're vulnerable.
26:26As you see there, you're vulnerable
26:27when you throw the right uppercut,
26:28so he's got to be careful.
26:30Clean hooks there from Conor Walker,
26:33and good defense too when he gets that jab going,
26:36and keeps Sonny, doesn't he?
26:38Inching forward, gloves high.
26:40Game plan designed by Jamie Moore looks good.
26:45Yeah, he's really making Taylor punch himself out.
26:48He's making him keep throwing his hands
26:50just to stop the pressure.
26:52And, okay, yes, he's landing sometimes.
26:54He's catching Conor clean sometimes as he's walking in.
26:57But at what cost over a 12-round fight,
26:59especially when it doesn't look like Conor Walker's
27:01expending as much energy to be...
27:03Oh, and again, doing a really good job
27:06of hiding the left hooks and the right hands,
27:08changing the intensity a few times there, Conor.
27:11That comes Taylor with a combination of his own,
27:14and every time he does that,
27:16he just gets a little more confidence
27:17and spring in those legs.
27:21It's a good effort there so far from Liam Taylor.
27:25He knows this is now or never.
27:29What he's doing well is he's kind of getting
27:31the last say in the arguments,
27:32and once Walker's finished throwing,
27:34he'll come back again,
27:35and that plants the seed in the judges' minds.
27:41Excellent official, Kev Parker,
27:43just in front of us at ringside.
27:46We've got Steve Graham, Mark Bates as well,
27:50scoring this one.
27:51I wonder if they're going to have it pretty close
27:53at the halfway stage.
27:54He'd say so.
27:57Really good fight, though.
27:58It really is.
27:59Good footwork there from Taylor,
28:00just missing with the right hand.
28:02Walker, good body shot for Walker there, though.
28:07Yeah, the knees seemed to dip for a second,
28:09didn't they, Sonny?
28:10Yeah, just a big gulp of air from Liam Taylor,
28:13and here comes Connor Walker again.
28:16Look, Taylor won the last round,
28:18but that has swung back to Walker in this one.
28:20It really is a close fight.
28:25Going to the body again there, Walker.
28:26I think he knows that he caught him
28:28with a nice, clean shot.
28:40Yeah, that was a fudging right hand.
28:42Like I say, he did lean back on the shot,
28:46but still, look at what it's done
28:47to the head, really rocks it back.
28:49And that's bringing the feet in there,
28:52and I think we'll see more of that good,
28:54finishing the combination with the lead hand,
28:57bubbling up with the shot,
28:59and again, the pressure relentless from this man.
29:01Getting a lot of success
29:02when he's varying the target of attack.
29:04He's touching around the outside
29:05and going heavy through the middle,
29:06and going through the middle
29:07and going heavy around the outside.
29:09Switching up, Taylor's struggling
29:11to keep up defensively
29:12with the burst of energy from the Walker.
29:17Fucking punching his head up there, yeah?
29:19Gordas, 10 seconds.
29:26Both Gordas happy.
29:27Both fighters have had their success.
29:30It's a terrific tussle
29:32for the British welterweight title
29:34between Connor Walker
29:35and Liam Taylor.
29:38It's a packed division at 10-7.
29:40Of course, Lewis Crocker
29:41and Paddy Donovan,
29:42Kieran Malloy,
29:44unbeaten southpaws,
29:45looking pretty good from Galway.
29:47So there's so many fights ahead
29:49for the winner.
29:50Who's it going to be?
29:52Lovely clean shot as well
29:53with the left hook from Connor.
29:55I think he's definitely landed
29:56some of the better,
29:57cleaner, more punishing shots.
29:59But when he is letting his levers go,
30:01Taylor,
30:02how much credit are you giving to those shots?
30:04Because, oh, and another left hook.
30:06This is where Connor Walker
30:07will hope that that...
30:09the foundations that he's put in
30:11in the early part of the fight
30:12will start paying dividends.
30:13Really trying to walk his man down now
30:17and hope that he's really put a dent in Taylor.
30:19He's pushed the accelerator
30:20back near Connor Walker.
30:23His legs are getting closer
30:25and he's trying to just march
30:28Liam Taylor
30:29into parts of the ring
30:31that he's not comfortable with.
30:32This is good work from Walker.
30:35Maybe another little bit of a sign of vulnerability
30:37there for Liam Taylor.
30:38Arched over a little bit.
30:39That's a good session here.
30:45He's not moving as freely, is he, Taylor?
30:47He's not even letting his hands go back now
30:49like he has been.
30:50He hasn't thrown a shot in about 20, 30 seconds.
30:52No, he's covering up here.
30:53He's feeling it.
30:55Oh!
30:55Right hand from Connor Walker.
30:57Middle and a half left at the seventh.
31:00This could be the breakthrough round.
31:02Taylor fights it.
31:03He's gone with a huge shot
31:05and he crumples to the canvas.
31:08Liam Taylor,
31:09what might be done here?
31:10Connor Walker has found the answer
31:13in the seventh round
31:15and retains his British World's Aweight title
31:18in a cracking battle
31:20with Liam Taylor
31:22who gave in everything
31:23but Darren Barker was spot on.
31:27Liam Taylor was made to work so hard
31:29from the opening bell.
31:31Tactics fabulous
31:32from Jamie Moore and the team.
31:35Connor Walker delivers
31:36and that is a brilliant defence
31:39of his British belt
31:40against a very good opponent
31:42and what a fight.
31:44Hats off to Liam Taylor there.
31:46He gave it everything
31:47but the groundwork
31:49that he put in early there
31:50Walker did pay off
31:53and that left hook, Sonny,
31:54was an absolute peach.
31:56He's been finding it since the very first round.
31:59He really has.
32:00As soon as he started really finding the target
32:03he was waiting up his feet
32:04and he didn't mind leaving his chin in the middle.
32:07Connor didn't mind the shot coming back.
32:09He was comfortable with the shots that he was catching.
32:11I just felt in the mid and a half before that
32:14that Walker had pushed the pedal down.
32:18He was tiring Taylor
32:19and one humongous left hook
32:23and bang on the chin
32:25and it was goodnight I'm afraid
32:27but Paul Liam Taylor
32:28who put so much into it
32:30but his dream
32:32goes here
32:34as Connor Walker
32:36well he wanted a British title
32:38could he go further?
32:40And that's the problem
32:41when you're in the routine
32:42of punching back
32:43with every single exchange
32:44that Liam was
32:45he threw a 1-2 left up
32:47and got completely beaten to the punch
32:48but physically the stronger
32:50and more aggressive man.
32:52Where can he go from here?
32:53Adam I think that's a great question.
32:55I think there is some genuine
32:56big fights out there for him next.
32:59Meanwhile
32:59Jake Paul Chavez Jr.
33:03Can't wait for that one
33:04to see the development of Jake.
33:08How far can the social media king go
33:12next Saturday
33:13on The Zone.
33:16Connor Walker

33:20of the year domestically.

33:38of applause out here

33:41of these fighters.

34:23Liam Taylor
34:24put everything
34:25into it
34:25but it was a clever
34:26performance from Walker
34:28he gave a couple
34:29of those rounds away
34:30but he
34:32paced himself
34:34beautifully
34:35and that
