00:00Always classy with the introduction.
00:03Alright fans, here we go.
00:05Bob Adams, Top Rank Incorporated, presents the co-main event of the evening.
00:11Two rounds of boxing for the interim IVF Lightweight Championship of the World.
00:18Introducing you first on my left.
00:22Fighting out of the blue corner, wearing red trunks with black trim.
00:25Presented in association with RCC Boxing Promotions, and hailing from Yekaterenburg, Russia.
00:34He weighed in at 134.6 pounds, with a record of 20 wins and one loss.
00:40He has 12 wins coming by way of knockout.
00:44Ranked the IVF number two lightweight contender in the world.
00:47Ladies and gentlemen, please welcome Zaur Abdullaya.
00:55His opponent across the ring on my right.
01:00Fighting out of the red corner, wearing dark blue trunks with gold to trim.
01:05Hailing from and fighting out of Fontana, California.
01:10He weighed in at already 134.4 pounds.
01:13He is undefeated in his campaign to the ring with a record of 22 wins, no losses.
01:1917 wins coming by way of knockout.
01:23Currently ranked the IVF number four lightweight in the world.
01:26Please welcome the hard-hitting and undefeated Raymond Danger Murataya.
01:36Out of a free and charge, now to give instructions, Thomas Taylor.
01:49Coach, can I have you right here?
01:52Gentlemen, right here.
01:53All right, guys.
01:54Everything from the bottom of the black up is going to be good.
01:57Everything from the bottom of the letters here up is going to be good.
02:00You've got my instructions in the back, gentlemen.
02:02Protect yourselves at all times.
02:03Listen to my commands.
02:04Touch them up.
02:05Back to your corner, gentlemen.
02:07For Zaur Abdullaya, last time he was in a world title fight, it was against Devin Haney.
02:11He's the last man to be stopped by Devin Haney.
02:14That was in 2019, but it was a fractured orbital bone.
02:18That dream became a nightmare for Raymond Murataya.
02:21He wants that dream to stay a dream and to become a reality.
02:25One man will be a world champion.
02:27Murataya Abdullaya.
02:29There's your first bell.
02:30Bernardo Osuna alongside the International Boxing Hall of Famer, Timothy Bradley.
02:35Mark Triegel, roving reporter for the evening tonight.
02:39You see Murataya trying to get off to a quick start going to the body.
02:42Just trying to use some angles right here.
02:44You see Murataya.
02:45That foot movement that you saw was just angles.
02:49Didn't do anything off those angles.
02:51However, Abdullaya is strong, physically strong.
02:55You can tell.
02:56Look how big his back is.
02:58He likes to come forward.
02:59Comes behind a tight, tight guard.
03:02Likes to stab down low and sneak over the top with right hands.
03:08Look, Abdullaya is heavy on the jab.
03:11Lands 8 of 30.9 per round, which is 2.4 more than Murataya.
03:15And Tevin's 10.7 more thrown than his opponent.
03:19So, that's his weapon of choice for Murataya.
03:22It's power and accuracy.
03:24It's power, accuracy, counter-punching ability.
03:28But that jab, what that jab does, it's going to disrupt the rhythm.
03:31If he can stay constant with it, Abdullaya, if he can stay constant with it,
03:34it's going to disrupt the rhythm.
03:36And counter-punchers, that's what they hate.
03:38They hate guys that are accurate with their jab.
03:41So, we'll see how effective Abdullaya's jab is going to be this first round.
03:47Murataya said I'm going to take my time.
03:48Feel him out, and then start trying to wear him down.
03:54Abdullaya had an extensive amateur pedigree as well.
03:58You know, although his style is pretty simple, it's extremely effective.
04:03You know, he starts to slow and slowly apply more and more pressure
04:07as the rounds continue.
04:08And he seems to get stronger as the rounds go.
04:13Something rare, Tim.
04:15Abdullaya has two 12-round stoppages.
04:18And that goes to show you that this man prepares.
04:21He's got the wind and the power to carry late, which is so difficult to do in this sport.
04:27Again, as you see him feigning, body feints, foot feints.
04:35Good counter for a tie-off with the Abdullaya jab.
04:39Bit of a chess match right now, a technical battle by both men.
04:48Neither guy looking to make a mistake.
04:51Both guys feigning, trying to get the other one to commit.
04:54He's trying to counter the strength of the other here in the first two-and-a-half minutes of this fight.
05:05Well, right now, Abdullaya is at least.
05:07That stab jab is working for him downstairs.
05:11How do you beat a jab?
05:12You go over the top.
05:13Over the top, the right hand.
05:14That's how you beat it.
05:15Or you step out of range, make it fall short, and lift him up with the uppercut.
05:22Listen for that bell, gentlemen.
05:23First round of 12 for the lightweight championship.
05:27Here is top-ranked boxing on Yatina.
05:34Good run to starting him, all right?
05:36That was a good run to starting him.
05:37How do you feel him?
05:38Good.
05:39How do you feel him?
05:40Thanks, T.
05:40All right, then.
05:42Keep that smart.
05:43Keep that smart.
05:43Keep that fence.
05:44He's trying to feint that jab to the body because he wants to get you with that hook.
05:47That was just right, so just keep his hand right here.
05:49Boom, boom, right here, all right?
05:50Smart.
05:51Keep that.
05:51Keep it circling around him, all right?
05:53All day.
05:53Get some water.
05:55How's it going, bro?
05:58Okay?
06:01Deep breath.
06:02That's fine.
06:03Fine, middle.
06:04Okay?
06:04Okay?
06:06How do you feel?
06:07Good?
06:07Then when you're exact, then that's when you go, all right?
06:09With the power.
06:10All right.
06:11Okay?
06:11Don't throw it from far, okay?
06:12Your hands up too.
06:13And keep your hands up all the time, all right?
06:15Hands up high all the time.
06:17Smart, all right?
06:18Keep that simple.
06:19All right?
06:19Keep winning those rounds, all right?
06:21Breathe.
06:21Breathe.
06:21All right, second.
06:24Let's go.
06:24Let's go.
06:26Red, you got to bring.
06:27All right.
06:28Let's see.
06:31All the way back.
06:32All the way back.
06:32All the way back.
06:33This fight is for the interim IBF lightweight time.
06:37We talked about none of the champions calling out the name of Raymond Murataya.
06:41This is a man that, as an amateur, had three wins over Ryan Garcia.
06:45And in his Fontana backyard, where his father set up a ring, they hosted the likes of Ryan Garcia, Mark Castro, Carlos Balderas, the Olympian.
06:54So he came up fighting in the backyard against elite fighters.
06:58And this is what you get from those backyard brawls, that beautiful left uppercut from Murataya, who starts to open up here in round two.
07:06You've got a training facility at your house, a boxer with a ring in the back.
07:09I mean, come on now.
07:11That's next level.
07:12People from in his neighborhood, another neighborhood, would come to spar.
07:17And, you know, you see that technique in or a technique in the skill.
07:26That stab jab from Abdullayev.
07:27And Robert Garcia was talking to him about how that opens up other opportunities for him.
07:32Yeah, he's looking for it.
07:32He told him he was looking for the left hook, Abdullayev.
07:35That's the reason why he was committing with that stab jab.
07:38He's looking to sneak him over the top.
07:39That was a nice little shot down there to the flank of Murataya, by Abdullayev.
07:46It was off of two jabs, too.
07:47Yeah.
07:48He's starting to get a little bit more busy with his jab.
07:50But what I did like about what Murataya was doing was he threw a combination, occupied him upstairs,
07:56and then he slipped the uppercut right underneath that guard.
07:59Oh, nice right hand for Murataya.
08:02Nice setup.
08:05They call him danger for a reason.
08:07And any time you are in that ring with Raymond Murataya, they say he's a killer in the gym.
08:14And he's proven to be that inside the ring under the big lights.
08:17So earlier in the show, you said if Murataya, how do you know he's on?
08:22He's on.
08:23I'm like, you know, he's on.
08:24His reactions, how quick he's reacting, the punching power, the speed, the accuracy.
08:32He's on tonight.
08:34Nice feint right there.
08:35Subtle feints.
08:37Keep him guessing.
08:38Oh, nice left hook there.
08:39Yes.
08:39From Murataya.
08:40He's quick to strike on the counter.
08:42And then you see the movement afterwards he makes Abdelayev pick up his feet.
08:47But you see how Abdelayev is trying to get after him right away to try to get some good back.
08:52He's neutralized the jab of Abdelayev so far.
08:55Only 11 of 27 through the first two rounds.
08:59See the angle shit?
09:01Slight little angle changes right there.
09:02Make your opposition pick up his feet.
09:04While he's picking up his feet, you can counter him as he's readjusting.
09:10That's what you're seeing from Murataya.
09:12Subtle movements left and right.
09:14Abdelayev is coming straight down the middle.
09:19Another stab jab from Abdelayev.
09:22Trying to go to his bread and butter.
09:26He's going to need to do more than just a stab jab.
09:30Oh, in this commercial break, we're going to show some of the best punches as it ended a little early in the two-box.
09:41All right.
09:42San Diego, if you're not ready, just call him a night.
09:45Yeah, after you throw, he's trying to have a look.
09:46All right, so just keep your hand up or go under.
09:49And when you step back, step back with your hand up.
09:51Okay, both hands up.
09:52Don't stand up like this, all right?
09:54Go like this, all right?
09:56No cover with your fight ticket.
09:58So bring along and come through.
10:00We've got drink specials, five for DJs, and a crowd that's just as lit as the main event.
10:06Don't tap out early.
10:07The party continues at Whiskey Girl and Double Deuce exclusively.
10:11Left to the body, all right?
10:13Now left to the body.
10:13Just make sure it's at the right time.
10:15Not from far, okay?
10:16You got it, bro.
10:17All right?
10:17This is about you, all right?
10:18Keep having fun.
10:19Let's have fun.
10:20Have fun, all right?
10:21Put that right hand up.
10:21Don't drop that right.
10:22Be careful when you go that right and get by the counter.
10:26Go under it.
10:27Look it out!
10:31Smart, all right?
10:33Let's have a look at it.
10:34Let's have a look at it.
10:34Let's have a look at it.
10:34In the corner of Zawar Abdullayev, they're saying he's looking to counter.
10:43Don't give him the space to counter because, Tim, when you let Murataya...
10:48It's a nice combination right here.
10:49Touch the top.
10:51Split the guards.
10:53You know, that high guard can get you in so much trouble.
10:56Oh, and again, nice blinding lead jab followed by that right hand splitting that guard once again.
11:03Murataya in the southpaw stance.
11:05He's going in his bag tonight.
11:07Hey, this is for the belt.
11:08This is for the belt.
11:09Yeah, absolutely.
11:11It sure is.
11:12Watch the peak, gentlemen.
11:13You know who Murataya's favorite fighter is?
11:16Mr. Andre.
11:18And Andre and Dre can fight for that southpaw stance as well.
11:24And Murataya right now going in his bag, deep in his bag, pulling out all the tricks.
11:30Nice body shot, and then up top from Murataya, switching the cadence up,
11:35and now he's back to his orthodox stance.
11:36I would love to see Murataya get a little bit more on his jab.
11:39He needs to get a little bit more active with that lead hand.
11:42And I would love to see Abdullayev just get a little bit more busier with his works.
11:48Throw some more offense out there.
11:51Maybe a 1-2.
11:521-2-3.
11:54The thing is, every time he's let the hands go, Murataya's had an answer.
11:59See, when you have a guy that's sitting there that's smarter than you, right?
12:02Because I think that Murataya is more skillful,
12:05and I think from the looks of things, he's a lot more smarter.
12:08You know, you can't give him time to think.
12:10You've got to get on top of him.
12:12You know, you've got to put some pressure on him.
12:13You've got to force him to make mistakes.
12:16I know it's still early right now, however.
12:18Those first couple of rounds, they didn't Murataya's favor.
12:23Just the speed, the power, and the accuracy.
12:26He's winning these early rounds.
12:29Neither guy very active.
12:30Murataya throws 47 punches around.
12:33Abdullayev, 46.
12:34That's well below the 57 punches thrown average for the 135-pound weight class.
12:40So, Abdullayev especially is going to have to go out of his comfort zone
12:45because the jab's not working tonight, Tim.
12:47No, the jab is not working.
12:49He's making...
12:50Murataya's making it fall short.
12:52However, when you're down three rounds...
12:58Exactly, and he's taking that jab away, too.
13:01But with that right hand.
13:05But when you're down two rounds, it's like, it's time to...
13:08Hey, change the strategy.
13:09Nice work from Abdullayev right there.
13:12Great counters, sharp.
13:14Sharp counters.
13:18Best punch of the fight so far for...
13:20A medium-based rushing.
13:26Nice uppercut right there.
13:28Just splitting the guard again with the uppercut.
13:33Listen for that bell, gentlemen.
13:35Three rounds.
13:36Abdullayev needs to get going here against Murataya,
13:38and he does just at the bell.
13:47Keep doing that, all right?
13:48Yeah.
13:48You're winning every round.
13:50Keep doing that.
13:50Keep that rhythm going, all right?
13:53Side to side, little steps.
13:54Take your punches right.
13:55Boom, boom, boom.
13:56And fucking dig in with a hard body shot, all right?
13:58You got your...
13:59You got your...
13:59That body shot, don't look for it when you're far.
14:03Until you touch them, touch them,
14:04then dig into the body, all right?
14:05Yep.
14:05Don't go...
14:06Prediction time.
14:08Take a look at that screen above you.
14:10Stand up to our code.
14:11And tell us how they run...
14:12I'll buy it a little more, okay?
14:14If you're going the distance,
14:15are we going to see...
14:16That a shot?
14:16Knockout.
14:18A lot of things.
14:19A lot of things.
14:20One more round, a little bit.
14:25Yeah, yeah.
14:25Yeah.
14:26No problem.
14:27Just be careful with the...
14:29Touch him, touch him, boom.
14:30And then what...
14:31Move your head, all right?
14:32Because he's...
14:33All right, let's go.
14:35Ready for round four of the scheduled 12-round fight
14:46for the interim IBF lightweight world title.
14:50So far, great start for Raymond Murataya,
14:52but Zahur Abdullaya showed signs of life, Tim, there
14:56at the end of round four.
14:57Yes, he did.
15:00Finally let some offense go.
15:01That right hand has been working for Abdullaya.
15:07But check out this.
15:08This move right here.
15:09Dangerous move.
15:10Not going to lie.
15:11You're not supposed to drop your hands from your face,
15:12but a nice little parry counter right there,
15:15right hand for Murataya.
15:17See, that's not...
15:19I'm just letting y'all know.
15:20That's not textbook.
15:21He got away with it.
15:23However, if I'm at the live, I see that.
15:25Now I'm going to fake like I'm going to go downstairs
15:27to the jab, and I'm going to come up with the left hook
15:29because he's going to bring that hand down the block.
15:32That was a nice stab jab from Abdullaya now.
15:35But it was pretty.
15:36If he can get that jab going, it could change the fight.
15:40Absolutely.
15:40And then Murataya will have to make the adjustments.
15:43Nice body shot.
15:44Murataya hitting home.
15:46Yeah.
15:46You can hear them shots.
15:47He's hitting hard off the elbows, off the arms.
15:51And Abdullaya, he's being selective with his punches
15:54because he's not trying to open himself up to be knocked out.
15:59You see the quick hands of Murataya.
16:02And now Abdullaya has to think before he closes that gap,
16:04and there's a nice right.
16:05And Murataya now is putting two together, three shots together,
16:09not just the singles counter.
16:13Which can be dangerous.
16:15for Abdullaya.
16:16For Abdullaya.
16:22Nice shot to the body again.
16:24It's a setup shot for Abdullaya.
16:25That same right hand that landed at the end of the last round,
16:38you saw right there, Murataya avoiding it,
16:42just stepping a little bit out of range.
16:44A stiff jab to the head from Abdullaya who takes a body shot from Murataya with the left hook downstairs.
16:52Like the variation from Murataya, it's kind of confusing Abdullaya going to the head with two shots,
16:58and then whipping that left hook to the outside, to the ribcage.
17:02I think that's been the biggest difference in the fight.
17:05The cadence of Abdullaya is the same from round one to now,
17:09and Murataya has been able to mix it up.
17:12Yeah, it's been the same thing from Abdullaya.
17:15He hasn't done anything different.
17:18That's the problem.
17:19And when you have someone as smart as Murataya, it's easy to figure out.
17:23And that's why you're starting to see him start to rev up the offense moving forward.
17:31Slight feints for Murataya here in round number four.
17:34That's that one-two from Murataya.
17:35Misses on that one.
17:36A bunch of volume and accuracy, the difference so far, in favor of the California.
17:48It's got to be a little bit louder.
17:49Just a little bit louder.
17:50I'm a 10-second.
17:51How are you feeling?
17:52Good.
17:53Condition-wise?
17:53Good.
17:54How about his power?
17:55No?
17:56All right.
17:57Still keep fighting smart.
17:58That was the fourth round.
17:59We got many rounds, but keep picking them apart, little by little.
18:02You're breaking them down.
18:03Stepping a little bit closer with a double jab, so you can reach in with a round of
18:06the round of the round.
18:07You threw it beautiful, but you threw it this much far.
18:09So stepping a little bit closer with a jab, all right?
18:11Like that, Remy.
18:12You're good, Mio.
18:13You're good?
18:14He's got to close the gap.
18:15He's got to close the gap.
18:16He said, all he has is the counter-right hand.
18:21That's all he's looking for.
18:23Understand?
18:24That.
18:25He's got to close the gap.
18:26He's got to close the gap.
18:27He's got to close the gap.
18:28Not too close the gap.
18:29He's got to close the gap.
18:30I'm going to go out and just keep it off.
18:31Because he's got to close the gap.
18:32I want to get it.
18:33One more...
18:34That gringa, I want to go with a dash to the bottom.
18:35That's a lot too fast.
18:36Let's take a look at our punch of the night.
18:38Brought to you by Miller Lite.
18:40in our first undercard fight and it was sebastian hernandez behind that jab putting punches together
18:46against azat hovenician the former world title challenger on his way to a 10 round unanimous
18:53decision victory all right mark krigo we are into round five through four completed here
18:59what does your unofficial scorecard look like 40 36 raymond murataya four rounds to nothing first
19:07round was debatable in the next three we're not going into the fight he told me he can't match
19:12my speed i'd rely up can and there's nothing there i've seen so far that was disproved that
19:17one note of caution though abdullayev does have a habit of uh really stating some wonderful rallies
19:24yes he closes very strong and he's got two 12 round knockouts so you can never count out zaur abdullayev
19:31but look murataya right now is connecting his power shots at a 42 percent cliff compared to
19:3628 for abdullayev and that's dangerous territory tim i'm just waiting on abdullayev to open up a
19:43little bit more if he opens up a little bit more than that it's going to be allowed for a tie to be
19:47able to land more counter shots on against him however murataya's right hand double right from
19:52abdullayev and he's opening up here hey buzzed him he did momentarily buzzed him with that right hand
19:59he's been looking for that right hand all night you're seeing what happened is what's going on is
20:04murataya sitting on that rear leg you know and when you're sitting on that rear leg there's no
20:11movement you can do other than drop down and he's not dropping down further enough to get get away from
20:16that right hand he's right in the line the line of fire for the right hand of abdullayev nice counter
20:22right there by murataya who has been dropped twice against umberto galindo in march of 2023 that was in
20:29the first round and also in round two against cesar valenzuela and so early on he's had trouble he
20:34seems to have gotten past the danger zone but abdullayev just showed that when he lets his hands go
20:41he will be a dangerous fighter it was just a mistake from from murataya that's what it was
20:46a mistake again you're jabbing from mid-range it gets gonna get countered and he timed it perfectly
20:52and at the same time you're gonna see every now and then let me see if murataya gets to it i'll try to
20:57i'll try to see if he gets goes into that little posture where he's leaning on his back foot
21:02and he has nowhere to go but down
21:16tag got a little bit too comfortable and abdullayev reminded him hey i'm a world-class fighter too
21:26good jab again you see subtle movement again back on that back foot by murataya there it is again
21:45that lead hand is down as well that right hand can sneak him right over the top
21:48listen for the bell guys
22:02don't get lazy trying to be do something different
22:12you connect back to defense
22:30remember you have here here change it up okay
22:33yeah three or four punches together all right
22:39how do you feel condition wise all right then let's go all right
22:43fifth coming up fifth or sixth six coming up okay okay let's go we're gonna go halfway all right so let's
22:49go
22:58go on round six of the scheduled 12 round world championship fight bernardo osuna
23:03alongside the hall of famer timothy bradley both fighters making adjustments to check out the philly
23:08shell got that lead hand in the sling right there didn't get that shoulder up quick enough
23:12boom gets hit with the right hand and gets hit with it again beautiful shot right there from aboli
23:19way to recognize the guard change for murataya and taking advantage of it
23:26see about the last can get those hands going behind that jab that he's able to land right there and sets
23:30up a right to the body yeah muratai answers yeah that's the the same guard that floyd made with
23:38the mage famous you know where he rolls that shoulder inside and he lifts it up to be able to block right
23:46hands and deflect right hands that time murataya using it you can use it well tell you that much
23:57look i noticed all that glitter on his legs on muratai's legs and all over his body because look at his trunks
24:08worry about it you know that glitter getting in the eyes yeah you know what i'm saying gloves yeah
24:13exactly if he if he rubs the gloves on the on his trunks look at you sim that's why you're the best in
24:19the business i appreciate those small nuances that can affect the fight yeah absolutely right now the
24:26nuances of abdulilah getting a little bit more busy behind that jab and you can see him get a little bit
24:31more busy and you start to see him get a little bit more comfortable now with the speed and the power
24:35of muratai and he's starting to get confidence starting to gain more confidence this body shot
24:42from muratai that's one thing we haven't seen much of in this fight only 13 body shots from
24:48muratai compared to 24 for abdulilah
24:53for your roots young man yeah so you got what happened after live is doing is every now and
24:59he's punching with muratai or he's punching directly afterwards now if i'm muratai what i'm doing is
25:04i'm going to have something in my back pocket i'm going to punch i know he's going to punch
25:08then i'm going to make a miss and then counter him again so i'm going to counter the counter
25:12have the life that's being two steps ahead of your opposition
25:22good job from azulilah after two misses and that's it you see that exactly caught him when he's out of
25:27position through a combination didn't have the life comes right back you got to make that second that
25:33counter you got to make that miss and you got a counter make a miss and fill the fill the holes
25:38the life doing well to go to the body with that jab
25:52and it was a combination
25:57halfway through this fight
26:08buddy or give me an uppercut those uppercuts are hurting him his nose is bleeding already you
26:13know that means they're hurting him right so jab jab and then you step step in with a double jab
26:18right hand and then give me that left to the body or an up or a left uppercut okay when you're on the
26:23outside look for those hooks up behind the gloves yeah that and then the uppercuts after that okay
26:28you're good your body's right there but dude when you're close not for when you're close don't
26:38you gotta give me defense right away you throw the one two you gotta give me defense again okay
26:47you go for the body net all go for the body net all deep breath through the first half of the fight
26:54we see that maritaya landing at an exact same percentage as abdulayev but he's landed 19 more
27:01punches abdulayev with the lead in body punches what i did notice is in up to round four abdulayev was
27:08landing actually muratai was landing at 42 percent clip with his power punches now he's at 34 percent
27:13compared to 32 percent for abdulayev that's it abdulayev is landing more body shots so look this is the
27:20first 12 round fight of murataya and he can pay some good dividends on the back stretch as you know
27:28body shots start to wear your square your opposition down starts to siphon their gas tank take their
27:33legs away from him and punching power so we'll see and we've talked about that late power of
27:38abdulayev with those two 12th round knockouts unknown territory for raymond murataya nicknamed danger but
27:47if it gets to that spot he may be the one in danger against abdulayev after life after after
27:54life is like a fighter that hey he's gonna wear you down you know as long as he's in the fight
28:00he's gonna wear you down you know he can be behind in the fight he's never going to be discouraged he's
28:04going to be always on you putting that pressure on you coming behind that jab like he's doing and
28:10again he's looking for you to weaken that's why he's uses that stab jab so that way later in the fight
28:16he can take advantage of mark kriegel what are they saying in abdulayev's corner
28:22edgar yasso says listen i need him to start going to the body so we can wear him down we can take him to
28:28deep waters that's our shot that's exactly what tim has been analyzing that's somewhere that raymond
28:35muratai has never been you know that he feels ready and conditioned for 12 rounds but you don't
28:41know until you've been there yeah absolutely right i mean you go 12 rounds probably two three times
28:46before you actually come out here and do it but you still you being the fighter and never doing it
28:51for the first time you're still kind of skeptical about it and you want to make sure you manage
28:56the rounds well and manage your energy but so far he's letting abdulayev back in the fight exactly
29:02first and that's my point the last two rounds have been abdulayev rounds and abdulayev is the type of
29:07fighter that gets a as the fight goes on he goes starts going downhill and he starts gaining more and
29:11more confidence and he's going to put more and more pressure and start letting his hands go you do not
29:16want to let him get the momentum going no you don't that's where he's at his best absolutely
29:28you know this is not a physical game this is just not a physical sport just just visit it's a mental
29:34as well you know it's your will it gets my will that's what it is now if i can kill your will to fight
29:42i have the advantage right but it's also a chess match in there it is i'm going to adjust what
29:49are you going to counter to my adjustment and how am i going to react to the adjustment that you're
29:53going to make to my counter solid shots from murataya falling for abdulayev here in round number seven
30:03this is a game of adjustments and tim both murataya and abdulayev adjusted to each other's counters
30:16there in round seven another excellent counter punch by murataya with the right hand again just dipping
30:25underneath squatting boom coming with a counter but again where's the second punch at you know i'm
30:30seeing the single counters what a second punch and then abdulayev right there making murataya pay
30:36for again having that lead hand out at mid-range boom exposing that left side and boom hitting him
30:41with that right hand we're tired through nine punches more than abdulayev who landed two more punches
30:49than murataya in round number seven
30:51in terms of jabs timmy that was going to be a key for abdulayev in this fight and you see that
31:02he throws almost 31 in previous fights tonight he's under 20 and for murataya he's above
31:08his jab average of 23.2 by two per round so you beat a jabber with the jab
31:16you take away that best weapon you can beat the jab you can beat a jabber with the jab also
31:21you can throw that right hand and make him stop throwing
31:26not only to the head but you can also throw the right hand down to the body
31:30make that and as you saw right there murataya sneaking that right hand downstairs
31:38murataya needs to be creative again like he was earlier in this fight
31:41because abdulayev is predictable but effective
31:49exactly he's efficient with his work again and he's patient and he's been in fights where he's been
31:56down and he knows he's down but he's just waiting on you to again lose focus get tired
32:02and then he starts to pour it on he's straight right from murataya that abdulayev eats and says
32:10i'll have another
32:17he also got to make you know take into account those guys from dagestan
32:21yeah they're built different they are they are i'm not gonna lie they they surely are when i
32:25fought rusevapavadnikov my gosh i was like man what did you eat man just eating fish raw raw out of the
32:31the sea over there like he was strong strongest fighter i've ever been to ring with stronger than
32:36manny pack out absolutely punch harder than manny pack out yes different places in the ussr siberia
32:45baghistan but all have that different type of hunger genetics man
32:51good uppercuts under murataya there pop shots from the outside pot shot from the outside single shots
33:05nice uppercut there for murataya at the end of round eight
33:11huge ready for round nine of raymond murataya zaurabdulayev for the interim ibf
33:19lightweight title mark kriegel what does your unofficial scorecard look like through eight
33:2478 74 six rounds to two i do think you know this these are where abdulayev distinguishes himself
33:31these late grinding rounds he gets into that 12 but he's got to start going to the body like gaso said
33:38and when you look at raymond murataya his money shot despite tim has been the uppercut
33:44uppercut coming around that guard with the left hook right hand and then sneaking that uppercut splitting
33:49the guard of abdulayev again the creativity that's important in this fight creativity because
33:57again i like abdulayev high amateur pedigree you know he's been at the top of the amateur circuit
34:03he's seen different styles he's a smart fighter you got to be creative with your offense when you're
34:10facing a guy like that and this is where now murataya starts to think about being in unknown
34:16territory the latest knockout he's ever had in his pro career was a ninth round stoppage
34:20events umberto galindo march of 2023 he's got an eighth round stoppage as well in his career against
34:28undefeated diego torres that same year so this is now where he starts to think okay
34:34what do i have in 10 11 and 12 yeah or he's not thinking he's just in there fighting
34:42that's just that's the best case scenario that's what you're supposed to do you shouldn't be sitting
34:45there thinking about if i'm going to be able to go 12 rounds no you're just in there fighting
34:51do your job round by round second by second minute by minute which seems to be his mindset
34:59it better i mean look it better be i would love to see a little bit more offense coming from
35:02murataya to be honest with you a little bit more combinations again and being ready and set for
35:10return fire and set him up with something you know that we know that abdulayev is trying to set
35:17murataya up for the one-two the right hand he wants the right hand he's sitting down hard on that right
35:22hand but it comes behind the jab always he hasn't thrown a lead right and you see him starting to move
35:28his hand you see you see the movement twitching his hand after life that right hand that's what
35:33he wants nice uppercut again those uppercuts yeah absolutely open them up and come around the guard
35:38see if muratai gonna get this knockout tonight he gonna have to go downstairs he gonna have to get
35:44he gonna have to get to the liver the outside because after life is taking the best shot already the
35:51right hand he's taking his best shot only 24 body shots landed so far for raymond murataya out of 96
35:57we see a little bit more combination punching from the california base fighter
36:05nothing spectacular here in round number nine so far this bout is scheduled for 12.
36:18round 10 here inside the pechanga arena in san diego california this ring once hosted
36:27in north's victory over muhammad ali so big names have been in this venue and it's a big night for
36:34raymond murataya's first world title opportunity against zaur abdulayev who last time he fought for
36:39a belt against devon haney was stopped due to a fractured orbital bone so that happened early in the
36:44fight in fourth round so so far a better experience for abdulayev against murataya you see the power
36:52punches landed by round the most landed were in round eight in favor of murataya with eight compared
36:57to four for his opponent and he's doubled up at 53 to 25 but this is where abdulayev believes he can
37:06start getting to murataya he ain't like he ain't got to throw punches yes that's what he got to do he
37:12got to let his hands go look you came up short in your first attempts for world championship you've
37:17earned your way back to this championship it's like come on i mean look you got two rounds to go son
37:25two rounds to go step on the gas let your hands go
37:31it's like you got to get out of your comfort zone man you got to settle out and you got to go for it
37:35if he lets his hands go i promise you he's gonna have success promise you
37:48if you're one of the other titleists are you looking at murataya as a potential unification
37:53fight differently if he wins tonight based on this performance absolutely not i'm salivating
38:02i'm salivating well that's what i'm saying because before he was danger and then
38:06every no one was calling out his name you think after tonight maybe people start calling out his
38:10name oh absolutely they don't want that smoke because this is a guy that's again he's a smart
38:15fighter however he's directly in front of you you know pretty simple with his offense basic with his
38:20offense yeah everybody watching especially in the 140 pound uh 135 pound division saying oh he ain't so bad
38:27he couldn't get rid of this guy devin haney got rid of this guy broke his orbital ball all right in
38:33that two box you see charlie suarez the undefeated 36 year old filipino number one contender who'll be
38:40challenging emmanuel navarrete who had weight issues making 130 pounds and this young man has olympic
38:48pedigree he's a guy with good feet quick explosive hands and that is an intriguing matchup for tonight's
38:56main event
39:16listen for the bell guys
39:22ready for the action go
39:27huge between raymond murataya and the blue and gold trunks and zahur abdulayev in the red trunks
39:33trimmed in black
39:36navarrete is all gas no breaks
39:40charlie suarez well he thinks he's got something for the champion
39:44here let's see what the championship rounds look like 11 and 12. will zahur abdulayev give it one last
39:52run against raymond murataya
39:53back
39:56referee thomas taylor not liking murataya jousting with that jab and that's a nice straight right
40:00from abdulayev and a combination you know what i don't like from abdulayev he has no kind of right
40:07upper gut from murataya no arsenal whatsoever he's a one-two puncher i mean i'm waiting can he throw a
40:13left hook or a right hook or something i mean something other than a straight one-two
40:17and yet it was enough to catch murataya's attention who came back with a quick combination in that
40:24right uppercut which has been his best punch tonight
40:30look abdulayev described murataya this way he said i've observed murataya in the way he fights
40:38and he doesn't do anything bad but he doesn't do anything great
40:44okay what do you do great because you're getting beat right now he threw a left hook
40:51up to live dude was that in the left hook yeah hit the gloves partially he threw it and
41:00you got murataya now he's starting to see everything come everything is starting to come slow to him now
41:06he's ahead of everything he's used to what's coming at him he's sitting in the pocket look at him
41:11waiting subtle movement left and right he's looking going to commit let's see oh down finding a hook
41:17about time
41:21look at that being smooth nice little body shot good left foot from abdulayev right there change
41:29finally change it up a bit right
41:37but i'm just watching the comfort level of murataya right now being at mid-range he's comfortable
41:44doesn't seem to be phased at all
41:49yeah he doesn't have that third weapon that tim bradley had inside the ring it's a little one two and
41:54you allow it allows you to throw that uppercut some nice uppercut
42:03oh nice double jab from murataya stopping the head of abdulayev
42:09easy work that's where it's saying that's your strength well i'm going to beat you at your strength
42:16nice body work and an uppercut from murataya starting to open up here in round 11.
42:21it's hard to believe he has what it takes to be a champion
42:27blood streaming from the nose of zaur abdulayev
42:30lion that's this is the world champion all right don't it up don't make mistakes all right
42:35and the way you did this round was beautiful you're breaking them apart all right
42:39smart okay stay smart
42:44good
42:49last round okay to break round from raymond murat
42:52yeah i'm in the spamming uppercuts on the inside absolutely against that high guard oh
42:58beautiful shot right there you see the legs buckle a little bit from abdulayev
43:07good body shot right there and roll underneath that's textbook
43:12from murataya and two jab up jabs splitting the guard
43:17coming from a different a different level with a different angle nice up jab split that guard up
43:24mark criegel your unofficial scorecard before the 12th and final round
43:30one away one-on-one abdulayev these knock uh egg and yassa says my guy's making a miss he ain't making a bang
43:37and murataya coming out strong here in round number 12. abdulayev has only landed double digit connects in
43:44round six and seven and that was 10 and 11 punches landed but he does have two career 12 round knockouts so
43:53he's still dangerous
43:57and he believes he can get it right now absolutely but it'd be crazy because
44:03murataya cannot allow that to happen i mean he's he's winning this fight handily
44:10and he really up to be honest with you all he has to do is get through this round he's got the fight in
44:14the bag
44:14and if i was in this corner i'll just say hey man take chances when you need to
44:20just box play defense use your jab win the round however don't expose yourself be smart with your
44:28defense we got a championship that we just want nice lead right there from murataya
44:34left still working behind the jab
44:50nice body shot from her a tie with the right and then the roll under yep
44:54up the left defense good defense
45:05i don't know that one we're tying the southpaw stands here the last minute 20 seconds he's been
45:11so effective this round from the orthodox stance yeah he's in total control though his eyes his eyes
45:16tells the story for me you see his movement he's smooth with it making him miss all these punches
45:22got his timing down
45:26it's almost like he knows what he's going to do before he even does it got a little swagger to
45:30him here around 12. oh yeah so no questioning his his physical conditioning for this fight
45:36nice right there not at all good left hand
45:44he's boxing smart this round that's exactly nice right
45:47i have the last taking more chances now wherever he's opened himself up now
45:54but he's been able to connect with the right here in the final seconds of this 12th round and
45:59half a minute left to determine who will be the new interim ibf lightweight world champion so far
46:05it looks like murataya is on his way but after live has 20 seconds to change that with a beautiful
46:11right right left combination from murataya
46:20too little too late from zahra abdulayan here as this clap for the tiny 10 seconds a new champion
46:27will be crowned they call danger or is it zahra abdulayan
46:33it comes down to how the judges saw this fight did they like the effective aggressiveness of raymond
46:48murataya who landed on 26 percent of his total punches compared to 19 for abdulayev there's a lot of
46:55experience in dennis o'connell david sutherland and look at steve weisfeld almost 3 000 fights so we're
47:01talking about 4 500 fights between them and uh you know some solid judges and let's take a look at
47:09some of the best action from this world title fight timmy it was more times night tonight you know i told
47:16you out the gate he looked sharp landing his combinations good counter punching you know he went
47:23downstairs upstairs i mean he did a little bit of everything abdulayev abdulayev was strong in spots
47:30used his jab well especially down to the body uh he had a couple of occasional right hands over the
47:36top catching murataya while he's sleeping while he was sleep however i mean i thought it was an easy
47:43fight i mean easy fight to judge you know i feel there's no doubt in my mind that murataya won this
47:48fight tonight congratulations to him and his team i know the scorecards haven't been read yet however i
47:54thought it was a pretty easy fight for a guy like murataya he's extremely skillful talented and tonight
48:03like you said it's his night sometimes the numbers tell a story 140 landed compared to 87 for abdulayev the
48:10comparison also the body shots is where abdulayev really shined and we expected it to be the jabs for
48:16abdulayev but you also have to look at the faces and they tell the story of the fight and they can see
48:22the demeanor they do tell the story however just to let you know fights are not judged on damage
48:29they're not judged on the way a fighter's face look they just judged on the effective punches being
48:34like all right before we get the official scorecard let's go to mark kriegel for his unofficial scorecard
48:41118 110 murataya was not just a quicker fighter but the guy with more imagination
48:48let's send it up to the classy jimmy lennon jr for the official decision from the judges
48:54ladies and gentlemen after 12 rounds of action we have a unanimous decision here the score totals
49:00judge at ringside steve weisfeld scores about 118 to 110. judges dennis o'connell and david sutherland
49:09both scored about 119 to 109 all three in favor of the winner by way of unanimous decision and he is
49:19now the interim ibf lightweight world champion raymond
49:25in the interim ibf title holder because everyone's waiting to see what the future holds for vasily
49:40lomachenko who hasn't fought since he defeated george kambos's newly crowned wbo champ keishon davis
49:47longtime champion shakur stevenson and the elder statesman of the decision wba champion gervonta
49:54tank davis our mark kriegel is in the ring with the new champion raymond murataya raymond congratulations
50:02how the hell does that feel feels great man um all this hard work i've been putting in
50:08all these fights man it feels great to finally have to surround my waist and i couldn't do it without
50:14my team describe what happened in that ring tonight i just went in there man he was he was a tough
50:19fighter he came to fight we knew that um i was just using my my skills just picked them apart and um
50:24beating them every round and you're still pretty yeah man i mean that's uh thanks to my team my defense
50:30is uh something we work on a lot listen the great vasily lomachenko is out with a back injury this is
50:38technically an interim title he has until october 8th to decide if he's coming back
50:44or not do you have any rooting interest in do you want to fight him what are you thinking about the future
50:51absolutely he's uh i'm the mandatory for him so um that's what we're looking forward to it'll be
50:56it'll be an honor to fight him to have his resume i mean have his name on my resume and i'm looking forward to that
51:02keishon davis fights in a few weeks your thoughts on that you've always been talking about a
51:07unification between you two i'm not focused on that right now i got i gotta i'm a mandatory so
51:12i'm focused on that right now and and if that doesn't go through man whoever whoever you want me
51:16to fight i'll fight when we sat down earlier this week i said to myself and i told the crew there was
