00:07:01and the styles, Sonny, could gel very well.

00:07:04And straightaway, a few nice shots landed there for Rodriguez,

00:07:08but straightaway letting us know that he's got a handful in front of him.

00:08:17But a good response straight away from Galal.

00:08:24And he's a terrier, this Rodriguez.

01:04:02Yeah, you know, he said he was swimming against the current. He took him to deep waters and that

01:04:06was the difference between fighting at world level and up really at the elite end. This guy's a

01:04:10former unified world champion. He was relentless tonight. Galaui couldn't have got off to a worse

01:04:14start. I'm so proud of him. I mean, the braveness he showed, you know, early on in the fight,

01:04:19he started to win a couple of rounds early and then it was all one way. Rodriguez was

01:04:25absolutely relentless and we said in the week, the will of this man, he came up to me and he

01:04:29said, I will do it. I promise you, this means everything to me and he just wouldn't be denied

01:04:33tonight. He was just a man that wouldn't be denied and as tough as Galaui was, he just

01:04:37couldn't overcome that pressure. He couldn't overcome the bad start and he failed on the hurdle

01:04:42to elite level and that's sometimes what happens. He's only had nine fights but tonight he learned

01:04:47really the hard way how good these fighters are, particularly how tough they are from Mexico

01:04:53and what, you know, they're prepared to do and the lengths they're prepared to go at. So

01:04:57Galaui ticked a lot of boxes tonight in terms of his toughness. We know how good it is but

01:05:01didn't really look at the races tonight after a really rough start and you have to give unbelievable

01:05:07credit to Rodriguez. I thought he was incredible tonight. How does the rebuild look now for Galaui?

01:05:11You know, he's 32 years old, you know, he's still only had 10 fights but that was the fight

01:05:17to prove that you're ready for the Tarajas and those real, like I said, those elite guys.

01:05:22You know, Rodriguez is a world-class fighter, there's no doubt but he's fallen short at those

01:05:27levels, whether it's been against Nakatani, whether it's been against Tarajas, whether it's

01:05:31been against Ioka. But, you know, tonight you saw what it's like at those levels. He competes

01:05:36with all of those guys and he's very tough. The punch count was out of control. I mean, you know,

01:05:42we're looking at the numbers after six rounds. I think there's over a thousand punches thrown by

01:05:46both guys after six rounds and, you know, that's what you're up against and when you're not at the

01:05:50races and you get off to a rough start, it's very difficult to turn the tide against the pressure

01:05:56of a fighter like Rodriguez and, you know, it was a rough lesson tonight after pretty relatively

01:06:02few professional fights. But, you know, he wants to move faster. He debuted with a 10-round fight

01:06:07and, like I said, he came up against the elite end of the division and found out how tough it is up

01:06:12there. Just finally, is he a fighter you'd like to work with moving forward, Rodriguez? Yeah, listen,

01:06:15you know, I mean, how many Mexican fighters have we had over here? Every time they come over,

01:06:20they give us unbelievable fights, unbelievable value for money. I mean, I know Joe Caldean has got his

01:06:25big comeback in two weeks' time. He's got a Mexican opponent as well. We might have to switch that

01:06:29one up, but, you know, this is what you get. You get value from these guys and, you know, we do a lot

01:06:34of shows in Mexico. We know what boxing means to the people there and we know where Rodriguez has

01:06:39come from and we know what that meant to him tonight. So every time they step in the ring,

01:06:43they've just got that desire that's sometimes a little bit different and that's what Rodriguez

01:06:47had tonight. This was a man that was not going to be denied in there tonight and the start was

01:06:51electric and he just didn't let Yafi get back into the fight. Every time he looked like he might be

01:06:56winning a round, he applied the pressure. He threw more punches. The engine was incredible

01:07:00and, like I said, that's world-level boxing. It was a great fight, but it was a fight that was

01:07:06dominated by a guy that's been there before, that's been those 12 hard rounds and just, like I said,

01:07:11was not prepared to lose this opportunity. And, you know, as tough as it is for Galalia Yafi,

01:07:16it's amazing to see the reaction of these people that come over, take the trip, take the chance

01:07:21and spin it up and change their life. And Galalia's got to go back to the draw in broad,
