00:00The President signed his disastrous, big, beautiful bill into law on Friday.
00:06So I spent these past few days calling and also meeting with everyday Marylanders
00:12about the impacts of this bill and what it's going to mean for them.
00:16And here's what it means for you right here in Maryland.
00:20I've spoken with seniors in Montgomery County and also with veterans in Carroll County
00:26who now fear they could be part of the 250,000 Marylanders who could lose their health care.
00:34I've spoken with leaders of hospitals on the Eastern Shore and also other parts of rural Maryland
00:39who are receiving historic support from the state and from my administration
00:44but are now seeing cuts in the range of a quarter of a billion dollars from the federal government.
00:50And the hits just keep coming because the President is also cutting funding
00:55for the food assistance programs that over 270,000 Maryland children from Oakland to Ocean City rely on.
01:05So there is no state that can single-handedly absorb the impact when the federal government
01:10severs its relationship with the middle class and also can give the wealthiest a tax cut.
01:17But despite that, I have ordered every major state agency to review the bill
01:22and to come back to me this week on the impacts of this legislation.
01:27There's tough work ahead, Maryland.
01:29But listen, we do not fold under pressure. We win and we rise.
01:34Thanks again, and I'll keep you posted.
01:37Lots.
01:38Thanks again, folks.
01:58Thanks.
