00:00set it up, it will be able to feed a lot of hungry people in the Hunt and Ingram area.
00:05If you want more information about that, just go to heb.com, I think, slash newsroom.
00:13Countless other local businesses are stepping up, they are finding needs, and they are meeting
00:18them. Now, how can you help? If you would like to make a financial donation,
00:24we recommend that you go to the Community Foundation of the Texas Hill Country. They have
00:31set up a portal to receive donations. That would be communityfoundation.net. People across our
00:38community, across our state, across the world have been responding to that request. If you would like
00:45to volunteer, the city has set up a partnership with our local Kerrville Salvation Army at the
00:52Kroc Center. The number to call to register to help or to donate is 830-465-4797. And when I say
01:05donate, in-kind donations. For full updates, verified updates, please follow the City of Kerrville
01:14Facebook page. Under Facebook, it's called City of Kerrville-City Hall. Finally, as I've said
01:22every time I've been before you, please pray for our community. I believe in prayer, and prayers
01:30have been answered. Thank you. And now, Dalton Rice will come back up.
01:33All right, at this time, we'll take four questions. Tammy Prout with Hill Country.
01:41Yes, can you tell me, we've talked a lot about the bad things in the country, but how many rescues
01:48are you at, and the kids that were in the camps that you couldn't get to, that were safe that you
01:54couldn't get to? Are they all evacuated? I'm actually going to turn that one over to the
01:58sheriff, if that's okay, and you have those numbers a little bit better. Sorry, Tammy. Again, please.
02:04So, how many rescues? You were at 850 a couple days ago, and then we had the camps that you couldn't
02:11get to the campers, and you knew they were going to be evacuated. I suspect they were all
02:14on, but have you gotten them all out? Yeah, included in that 850 that we put out is the campers. All
02:20the campers are out and safe. A lot of them have been reunited at this time. Yes, ma'am.
02:26Mr. Rice, are you here? Mr. Rice, are you here? Oh, sorry, sorry, sorry.
02:29Leslie, Leslie, Clara?
02:32Ingram Dam. You guys got any updates on Ingram Dam?
02:36We have no updates on Ingram Dam at this time. Amanda Henderson, KHOU.
02:41I'm with PBS News, and she stepped up for a story, but we talked to several people in this
02:45community who say we got no emergency alerts whatsoever. Governor Adams and his testimonies
02:50just placed the responsibility on the local agency. So just, I know you're going to be
02:55saying victims right now, but yes or no, did local agencies send out any emergency alerts,
03:01blares, sirens of any kind? No, I know you guys keep asking this question. You know,
03:05we appreciate it. We think it's important. We don't want to speculate. You know, at this
03:09time, we know there's a lot of speculation and question around it. Again, there's going
03:13to be a full review, you know, of this so we can make sure that we focus on future preparedness.
03:17We just, again, we want to continue to focus on the families at this time, and so we're getting
03:21through that. So, so thank you. Um, Leah Waldman, CNN. Okay.
03:26Thank you, sir.
03:26Yeah, no, again, it is still a great question. And when you looked at the National Weather Service, um, notification, when you look at that map, that map showed
03:35Kirk County kind of in the northeast corner, and that spread all the way through San Angelo. So there's a lot of information. That's a wide area that must be addressed. And so as we were, you know, preparing for it, unfortunately, the rain hit.
03:42At the most inopportune time and right in the most inopportune areas where the North and South Fork hit, it converged. And it's going to be in the most inopportune time, and it's going to be in the most inopportune time.
03:47Yeah, no, again, it is still a great question. And when you looked at the National Weather Service, um, notification when you look at that map, that map showed Kirk County kind of in the northeast corner and that spread all the way through San Angelo. So there's a lot of information. That's a wide area that must be addressed. And so as we were, you know, preparing for it, unfortunately, the rain hit at the most inopportune time and right in the most inopportune areas where the North and South Fork hit.
04:11It converged. And so here we are. So again, we want to continue to focus on those rescue operations and that we're not taking any more questions. Thank you.
04:18And we'll continue to follow the top headlines from Texas, here in the United States, as well as around the world. I'm Andy Mack. We're back after this.
04:41We'll see you next time.
04:48We'll see you next time.
07:02Thank you very much.
07:04We've been in touch with Governor Abbott and very close to Governor Abbott and everybody
07:12in Texas.
07:13Kristi Noem has, as you know, been there and will continue to be there.
07:18And we're working very close with representatives from Texas, and it's a horrible thing that
07:24took place.
07:25Absolutely horrible.
07:28So we say God bless all of the people that have gone through so much, and God bless the
07:34state of Texas.
07:35It's an incredible place.
07:36Any questions, Ms. President, are you still planning to phase out FEMA?
07:43Well, FEMA is something we can talk about later, but right now they're busy working, so we'll
07:50leave it at that.
07:51Go ahead.
07:51For the trade letters that you're sending out on Monday, Secretary Besson said that
07:57it would be a three-week extension and that rates could go back up to the April 2nd level
08:02on August 1st.
08:03Is that what we should be?
08:05We'll be sending letters out on Monday having to do with the trade deals.
08:10It could be 12, maybe 15.
08:12You know, Secretary of Commerce right here.
08:15And I guess, Howard, I would say it could be maybe as many as 15 or so.
08:20And they'll be going out on Monday, and some will go out on Tuesday and Wednesday, and it'll
08:26— and we've made deals also.
08:28So we're going to have a combination of letters, and some deals have been made.
08:32Is there any reaction to Elon Musk starting a third party?
08:36I think it's ridiculous to start a third party.
08:39We have a tremendous success with the Republican Party.
08:43The Democrats have lost their way, but it's always been a two-party system.
08:48And I think starting a third party just adds to confusion.
08:51It really seems to have been developed for two parties.
08:54Third parties have never worked.
08:56So he can have fun with it, but I think it's ridiculous.
08:59What's your message going to be to Netanyahu tomorrow?
09:10Well, we're working on a lot of things with Israel.
09:14And one of the things is probably a permanent deal with Iran.
09:18In other words, they have to give up all of the things that you know so well.
09:22The attack turned out, according to every single Atomic Energy Commission, that was a complete
09:29and total obliteration.
09:32And we had the pilots, as you know, at the White House on Friday.
09:36They were incredible.
09:37And they confirmed that.
09:38They know better than anybody, by the way.
09:40But they confirmed that every bomb hit its mark perfectly.
09:43And they would have to start all over again at a different location.
09:49This one is, as you know, the word I used was the correct word.
09:54Obliteration.
09:54Will your message be on Gaza to Netanyahu?
09:57I think we're close to a deal on Gaza.
09:59We could have it this week.
10:00I think there's a good chance we have a deal with Hamas during the week, during the coming
10:20week, pertaining to quite a few of the hostages.
10:24You know, we've gotten a lot of the hostages out.
10:26But pertaining to the remaining hostages, quite a few of them will be coming out.
10:30We think we'll have that done this week.
10:33My picture, President, do the tariff rates change at all on July 9th, or do they change
10:38on August 1st?
10:39What are you talking about?
10:41Tariff rates.
10:41Do they change on July 9th or August 1st?
10:44No, they're going to be tariffs.
10:46The tariffs are going to be the tariffs.
10:48I think we'll have most countries done by July 9th, yeah.
10:52Either a letter or a deal.
10:54But they go into effect on August 1st.
10:58Tariffs go into effect August 1st.
11:00But the president is setting the rates and the deals right now.
11:04Okay?
11:04Are you investigating whether some of the cuts to the federal government left key vacancies
11:09at the National Weather Service or in the emergency coordination?
11:12No.
11:12They did not.
11:13They did.
11:14I'll tell you, if you look at that, what a situation that all is.
11:19And that was really the Biden setup.
11:22That was not our setup.
11:23But I wouldn't blame Biden for it either.
11:25I would just say this is a hundred-year catastrophe, and it's just so horrible to watch.
11:33Are you planning to visit Texas, Mr. President?
11:35Probably on Friday.
11:38We wanted to leave a little time.
11:39I would have done it today, but we'd just be in their way.
11:42Probably Friday.
11:43Mr. President, have you been briefed on the ship that was hit in the Red Sea?
11:47Do you know if the Houthis attacked that ship today?
11:50We'll give you a report sometime tonight or tomorrow.
11:53Mr. President, the D.C. City Council has not approved a new stadium for the commanders.
11:59If they don't approve it, will you step in?
12:00Well, we see what happens.
12:02I've been looking at the deal, and, you know, I don't blame them.
12:07They have to—it's a very important piece of property.
12:09It's a great piece of property.
12:10So we'll see.
12:12But if I can help them out, I will.
12:13You know, ultimately, we control that.
12:15The federal government ultimately controls it.
12:18So we'll see what happens.
12:20I saw the plans.
12:21I saw the stadium.
12:23The owner is a very, very successful and a very good man.
12:27I know him a little bit.
12:28And it would be a great place for the NFL to be there, I can tell you that.
12:33So if they want to negotiate a little tough, that's okay with that.
12:37Did you see the commanders change the name back to Redskins?
12:41Well, you want me to make a controversial statement?
12:44I would.
12:46I wouldn't have changed the name.
12:48But that's there.
12:49It just doesn't have the same—it doesn't have the same ring to me.
12:53But, you know, winning can make everything sound good.
12:55So if they win, all of a sudden, the commander sounds good.
12:59But I wouldn't have changed in there.
13:00Why not help Ukraine the same way we helped Israel?
13:04Say it.
13:05Why not help Ukraine the same way we helped Israel?
13:08I am helping Ukraine.
13:09I'm helping it a lot.
13:11And it's a war that should have never happened.
13:13It's a war that should have never started.
13:15If I were president, if the election weren't rigged, and it was rigged.
13:19Rigged it so badly, and that's come out.
