02:36see how that clamp is not straight yeah and and it'll it will loosen up because you don't have
02:41that straight so what you want to do is you want to make sure that's straight on there not that I'm
02:45criticizing you because it looks it looks really good and we put the uh cp3 pump on this uh yes this
02:52this already had that did it but we've got a brand new one okay new injectors and then we got a special
02:58turbo on there and we fixed the frame fix the frame it's real good awesome dude this guy's gonna get

03:34oh geez this is how they break yeah they had one that was already broken they were all real rusty
03:43I told them yeah a lot of possibility that the other ones were gonna go out but I had did we have
03:47to do any time search or anything like that no the threads are actually okay they all look good yeah
03:52I ran the chaser the tap through all of them they're all doing good nice dude so but now we're just
03:57going back together and get them out of here what else I had an exhaust leak coming out the flange at
04:04the uh turbo down pipe somebody had a they had a mobile mechanic do a turbo not that that's the
04:09hardest that's the hardest thing to get to back there man but the the gasket on there I got a new
04:14one it was just completely squished the the metal gasket at the back of the turbo yeah that's the one
04:20that always leaks and people complain about it uh they can smell exhaust in the car isn't that the
04:26one that leaks yeah but I got a nice new gasket you could tell it was half of it was nice and clean
04:29half of it was completely black black yeah well that gasket was completely squished but I got a nice
04:34new one in there so it should be good yeah all right so we're going back together yeah any other
04:40nightmares or everything's cool a couple broken bolts I just got them out but it's just been one that's
04:46been kind of fighting me every every step of the way his resonators not leaking or anything because
04:50those are she got it is he oh that's on the that's on the uh the five cylinder isn't it yeah the one

05:04oh gosh mobilizer amplifier and a ring got to have fun taking off shear boats oh man you didn't uh what

05:24everybody ever see these you know if you ever try to drop a steering column get to the ignition key
05:28so the nut head shears off of it and all you're left with is this thing and normally what i'll do is
05:34i'll take a die grinder cut in there but you'd also cut the clamp to do it but you can take what do they
05:38call these things these are like strip bolt yeah they get those strip nuts strip nuts and you can
05:44get one on there and push real hard and it'll grab it and back it out of there excellent idea Tyson you
05:49you must you must have been doing this for a while dude you know so that's all you got to do yeah you
05:56see if that takes care of a problem sweet well glad to see you Tyson Dylan come show me this nightmare
06:03you got over here bro what are you doing now ball joints or bushings you know i got hydraulic for
06:10this right yeah and it's bent or something the rods bent or Tyson's working on getting a new one Tyson the
06:17parts just came in today the threaded rod got bent they're only forty dollars so i'm gonna get multiple
06:23so if one bends again oh my gosh i have so many tools and i hate when i go to grab a tool and it's
06:30broken be nice to your fellow workers when you break a tool fess up to it do not bend break destroy
06:39lose whatever a tool and and not be responsible to say hey we need something because somebody's
06:46going to need that tool and when it you need you want it to be able to work oh man an eco diesel
06:52yay these things have the same problems let's egr carbon oh gosh look at this i mean just look at
07:03this just nasty nasty but look oh oh
07:11folks and everybody's going to ask me questions how do we clean that how do we get rid of that
07:16i know no way i know no way but to physically remove it i'm looking for a cnc head cleaner that's
07:24really what i want i want to be able to load a head and i wanted that slurry blaster it's robotic arm
07:29to clean those heads i want to get rid of paying somebody to to stand there all day long and clean heads
07:34but let's talk about the uh the cleaning that we do on these these things you can either use uh
07:41chemicals and then you've got the disposal of the chemicals so i know i don't like that
07:46uh the physical cleaning of it there's a couple of different ways uh we got sand which you never
07:54like to use on an engine because if you ingest silica in an engine it will destroy stuff you've got
08:00uh soda dry soda that's water soluble really doesn't cause a problem it's not as aggressive then you have
08:08dry ice i've used dry ice it doesn't work and then of course walnut is uh is a good media we will use
08:16on this we would use a walnut because if we ingest walnut through an engine it won't destroy it what
08:22happens here is this causes codes for the uh these flapper doors don't open up now why do we have these
08:28flapper doors it changes the amount of airflow through the intake and it helps with low end torque and high
08:35rpm and uh there's a drive motor that does that how bad's the intake on the back of these intake valves
08:42and stuff dude oh gosh let's just have a look here i'm glad to see the blue tape dylan oh geez folks
08:48oh come on oh i can't even see the valve this guy we clean all this this guy's gonna think he's got a
08:56new truck you don't maintain these cooling systems you see all this bird dropping here on the bell housing
09:02this is a coolant pipe and it goes right here it goes in here it hooks to the back of this coolant
09:10pipe here and you can see where it's just been leaking it's corroded around this union and the inside of
09:17this is just full of corrosion but you can see how that joint there started to leak wow turbo okay yeah
09:27yeah cool you know we'll physically clean all this but i mean folks this is just like i mean seriously
09:35i don't think i'd be over uh guessing that you're at least 50 plugged on the amount of airflow that
09:42you're getting into an engine it'd be like you trying to climb mount everest uh hooked up to a little
09:47snorkel you know you'd be sucking your your brains out trying to get oxygen that's what this engine's

10:24ever tell me we don't have any engine jobs i'll be like worried but i is there anything weird or
10:31interesting not that i could think of we got the camshafts here for the f-250 where do they find them
10:36used no yeah they're used because there's not available okay but i mean are they in better shape
10:41subjective really uh so but at least you know customers been warned uh this is what we have
10:49and let's get out let's get it done yeah let's put that back together anything i can do for either one

11:53he used to work with jesse no way yep hired him yesterday whoa i told him we needed him months ago but

12:16i need you i've hired two apprentices we were maxed out on the apprenticeship right now but if you're an

12:29new shot since i mean in the back yeah yeah let's go check it out they've been working on why i've been
12:35gone all week they got power set up for looks like we're putting our transformer here for this yeah and
12:40then it's it's uh for the wet mag too nice has he got my crank grinder up and going um he's i think he's
12:48got power look at this yeah nice cool yeah and in the mag mag's not hooked up yeah it is oh he got
12:59wired in back here nice which is better yeah and this sweet massive thing my crank welder
13:09do a little we're gonna do a little maintenance on this thing i love machines at work well nice this is
13:14looking good yeah it was sure nice in panama 90 degrees a little little warm but there was a nice
13:20breeze gosh the fishing was so good i caught three black marlin all of them 350 plus caught some tuna
13:29not big ones uh there was yellowfin around but not big ones i was looking for a 200 pounder i think
13:35somebody there caught 120 pounder it's the end of the season though in panama right now so they're
13:40moving out of there the water is going cold you got some more room over here with moving that
13:48other stuff into the other shop you like that yeah i do it's very nice yeah the table i think
13:52is a little too close to the wall but that's not going to be permanent no you want to be able to get
13:57both sides of that i agree dude and it looks like uh holy smoke dude you're just tearing motors apart
14:04and yeah i've done three six sevens in the last three days so i'm on the last one six seven comments
14:09or power strokes power stroke cool man what are you hiding over there for dude
14:17what are these on these are the land rover heads which are actually bmw heads bmw motor
14:25yeah m62 and why did we do the head was this a blown head gasket yeah our cam journals are straight
14:33no problem these these fun good i'm gonna i'm gonna put them back in and give a double check let's talk
14:39about that guys let's talk about that real quick what i'm asking him about when i hit when a cylinder
14:44head is warped on the deck an aluminum head what you have to do is you got to disassemble the head
14:48put the cams in it both cams you want to put all the cam caps and they they go a certain way and in
14:54order and we mark them you want to put them on and then you want to make sure that the cam turns
14:59and doesn't bind because when a head warps the whole thing warps okay sometimes not enough up here
15:05in the cam tunnel to cause a problem but you better check it because you could just seize a cam up and
15:11you're wasting your time it looks like either that this head casting gets uh like a secondary air system
15:18but this one was just blocked off oh it came from factory blocked off so if you look i have to plug
15:26this one up but this whole this port goes all the way towards the front and you can see an air passage
15:32like egr yeah oh yeah that's exactly usually that's exactly what it is usually it's um secondary air
15:39injection uh to have a pump and to light up the catalytic converter yeah yep my car has it i mean
15:46it it it's on for what 10 seconds when you start up right right right all right well looks good thanks
15:52man so we're picking on joey my son the stud is doing studs you'd think i could be more clever than
16:00that but it's friday i can't it's pretty good what are you doing rebuilding lifters rebuilding lifters
16:09a lifter is nothing but a a one-way valve basically but if you look in there there's a little ball
16:15and you don't have to push very hard you can kind of see it in there but what that does is that ball
16:21when it gets dirt in there and you're wondering how could it get dirt in there well because you don't
16:24change your oil that's how it gets dirt in there it's a great place for sludge to just get
16:30in the bottom there and what happens is is that little bit of sludge gets in there and it gets
16:35in between that ball seat that holds the hydraulic pressure in that valve and it holds that ball off
16:40the seat and it bleeds down and that's where you get that tick tick tick tick tick tick got a lot of
16:44guys out there talk about i'm not a big chemical guy in the engines but i'll tell you what marvel mystery
16:49oil on a on a noisy lifter not a bad idea what else is going on in here buddy oh just building the power
16:56stroke and that's about it okay all right let's go see what matt's doing matt yes sir how's it going
17:06good how are you today we currently have 96 cars in the shop that's how much work we've got going
17:11less than 100 okay tyler i'm coming to see what you're doing it's fun friday dude
17:25with bearings noisy no so
17:29you got a new bearing in there though huh
17:32no somebody replaced that oh the vacuum hub wasn't holding
17:35uh wouldn't stand for engaged no and somebody had replaced the the actuator without determining
17:43what the actual problem was we actually had a shop that didn't do the four c's yeah the condition
17:50cost correction confirm they just decided oh it's not going to a four-wheel drive let's put a new hub
17:55on it but it was because the seal or his vacuum line was plugged or no it was the seal oh look you can
18:01tell it's been yeah the hub assembly went bad uh-huh it was rubbing against it yeah but the axle u-joints
18:06actually seized up too oh geez okay folks you see how that goes like this let's ready that's loose
18:15you see how that doesn't go like this
18:22there we go
18:23that's not supposed to be like that see a greaser right there but here's a telltale it's it's not
18:33ever been greased maintenance maintenance people do your maintenance you know you think you're getting
18:40an oil change and a grease job i'm sure this guy said hey man just do the maintenance you know you
18:44got to get involved in it you know and for me the involvement would be i become familiar
18:49here i did it i wouldn't even know until i got a flashlight and looked in there hey i got grease
18:54search there so if i took it to an oil change shop and i'm changing the oil i'd get down underneath
18:59there with flashlight and i'd look at my grease search on my drive lines my my front axles uh any
19:05suspension you know ball joints whatever i got and i'd see if there was a dab of grease on the end of
19:10that uh that that zert because you know you're going to have a little bit of grease on that it's a
19:16shame but some places uh don't take pride in their work even if it's simple oil changes
19:23let's go see what jason's got what are you doing to this thing dude
19:30oh what's the first thing you do on an intermittent misfire everybody all together now you swap coils
19:37and do all that sure that's the first thing you do but what's the next thing you better do you better
19:40check for what you're vital which is um compression do not overlook that when you have a drivability
19:46issue run a compression test on an engine if the customer doesn't want to do it i tell them have a
19:50nice day there's certain things that i'm hardcore about and i one of them is if i have a misfire
19:56i'm running a compression test on that engine you're going back together with this aren't you this
20:00diesel i just barely got the return lines last night they still didn't send all of them but it's
20:06just going to go back together i can do the other part later on a lot of work man well whoever took
20:14it apart glued it all back together instead of replacing those rings and replacing those parts
20:20that that's where it got messed up look at this you remember all that wiring that was just a mess in
20:27here look how nice jason has done this he's put new battery terminals on here with the solder type
20:33connectors with heat sink around them we've upgraded our alternator wire to the right size you can see
20:39the the crap that we've cut off this car to get this right to straighten this out and then we've cleaned
20:46it all up and i really like the way he's he's cleaned this up and ran this correctly when you run wire and
20:53you do a nice you know you do a job do it nice you take take pride in your work yeah cool this is my
21:01last problem and then i go into test drive and tuning to make sure my hot start isn't a problem
21:09and watch all my fuel ratios well you're close looking good dude cool not fun well i'm glad to see
21:17nobody ran out of snacks while i was gone i need my snack everybody i hope you have a fun fried
