00:00Now for Bradford City, obviously promotion to League One.
00:03They are competing in a higher tier in a sort of situation where there are some big dogs
00:09obviously dropping down from the championship, the likes of Cardiff City.
00:12There's going to be teams in there who have rich Premier League experience,
00:16the likes of Bolton, Wigan as well, Reading.
00:19It's a very, very tough League One situation once again.
00:24Obviously, the goals for the window for Bradford City remain the same.
00:29They need to make sure they have a positive window and that they sort of make sure
00:33they are really going into the new season with a fresh start and fresh sort of ideas
00:38to ensure they remain in League One.
00:41I think that has to be the minimum goals at the moment.
00:43We obviously mentioned it before that they are certainly on the brink of building
00:46this sort of new era, this rejuvenated Bradford side that need to remain in the top flight.
00:53Now, sorry, in League One, sorry.
00:56But obviously, a lot of transfer situations going on for Bradford.
01:02What's the sort of latest?
01:03Because they need to make sure they get the right numbers, but they also keep that strong
01:09core that got them promoted and keep that momentum building throughout the side.
01:13Dan, our Yorkshire correspondent.
01:14Dan, what's your thoughts on where Bradford are at the moment?
01:17How they go about their business?
01:19How they make sure they are competitive and, you know, at the end of the day, it's a massive window
01:24because they need to make sure they have that quality to remain in a Division One higher
01:29up than they were competing in for the last couple of seasons.
01:32Well, Charles, for probably the first time so far in this transfer window, we've had a bit
01:36of a quiet spell at Bradford City.
01:40Certainly not the way things have been going so far.
01:43This window felt like they'd been bringing in a player every other day, but we've had
01:47a bit of a quiet spell.
01:48Their last signing, of course, was Will Swan.
01:52And he, of course, was very excited to join the club, as has everyone else who's come into
01:55the Valley Parade so far this summer.
01:57But he, in particular, was trying to say that he's going to use his experience that he's
02:02had with Mansfield, and he'll lean on that in terms of the success he had there now that
02:07he's at Bradford City and at Valley Parade.
02:10But, yeah, it's a little bit quiet for a change at Bradford City, but, I mean, fair enough
02:15because they've brought in a whole host of players so far.
02:18You look back at just how long ago it was when they brought in Max Power.
02:22Since then, we've had so many new signings come into the club, and the only concern is
02:27whether they all can gel in time.
02:29I mean, yes, they've all come in very early and before the start of pre-season, so they've
02:33certainly had time to bed in, at least the ones who came in very early, and even the ones
02:37who have just come in in the last week or so will certainly still have time when they
02:40get to pre-season.
02:41Everyone will come in together, and they'll have time to get to know each other as well
02:44as get to know the already present squad at the club as well.
02:49But, yeah, when you think about when Max Power signed, that was the start of things, and
02:53then we've had just so many all the way through.
02:55I mean, you could just reel the names off and off and off.
02:57But then, of course, you've got to think, does it upset the apple cart a little bit
03:00as well?
03:01Some of the current squad that you see so many new faces coming in.
03:04But, of course, the caveat to that is Guillaume Alexander is probably trying to create competition
03:08for places within the squad.
03:09He knows that there will be a step up from League 2 to League 1, with Bradford City, of
03:14course, being promoted.
03:15And so, he doesn't want the squad to become stale and players to feel safe and secure in
03:21their place in the starting XI.
03:22And he wants competition.
03:24He wants the training sessions to be competitive.
03:26He wants everyone to feel as if nothing is guaranteed for them.
03:30And, if anything, that makes the standards a bit higher because, of course, players then
03:33try even harder on the training pitches.
03:35They'll try harder on the matches.
03:36And they're not just competing with the other teams in the league.
03:38They're also competing with each other to make sure that they're the ones starting and
03:42they're the ones making the difference for Bradford City.
03:45And that's all coming together to create the greater good.
03:48So, it's an interesting move from Bradford to bring in so many new faces.
03:51And, of course, I should imagine that's the ethos they're trying to create under Guillaume
03:55Alexander, that they've got this qualityful squad and they've got so much depth in it
04:00as well that they can call upon so many different players for various situations and be able to
04:04rest players as well.
04:06They've just got to make sure that they all gel together and the apple cart isn't upset
04:09when it comes to it and when it comes to pre-season starting in the next few days or so.
04:14And, of course, that will be key.
04:16Guillaume Alexander, yes, good coaching style, but he has to be a good man-manager at this
04:20point as well and make sure that all of his players are as satisfied as they can be now
04:25that they've come to the club.
04:26And, of course, also keeping happy all the players who are already at the club as well.
04:30So, things looking quiet on the transfer front at the moment for Bradford City.
04:33That still may change.
04:34They may well bring in more players in the next couple of weeks as pre-season gets underway
04:39and matches start to get played.
04:40But, for now, things just settling down a little bit.
