00:00now Bradford City are obviously going to be a league one club next season which means
00:06you know you need to make some additions some top class players need to come in
00:11in terms of you know really stabilising in their new division back in the third
00:15year of English football you know it's a massive summer window it's a window where
00:19they have to get things right they have to make sure they navigate it properly
00:23obviously a big challenge ahead and you know you look at their home form especially
00:27that sort of got them over the line in terms of their league two promotion
00:31they want to make sure that continues they want to make sure they have players who come in
00:35and believe in their project believe in in where they are in terms of of the league and their
00:39ambitions so it's a massive window no doubt Dan our Yorkshire correspondent Dan let's have a look
00:47at Bradford City in terms of of where they are going into this window obviously off the back of
00:52a season how do you sort of adjust how do you go about business because you know you want to
00:56obviously you know give give these players who got you promoted a little bit of a chance a chance
01:01to to show what they're made of what they're about in a in a higher league as well but also you want
01:07to make sure that you know boots are on the ground and that there's a clear ambition there's clearly
01:11players coming in who understand the project and what's next so Dan what are your thoughts ahead
01:16of the window and how are they going to navigate it is it you know how crucial is this window for
01:21Bradford City to get right entering a new tier of English football and you know making sure that
01:27they are stabilised in League One next season well Charles it is clearly very significant for
01:33Bradford City this summer because going into League One it will be a step up for the club they've been
01:38out of this division for a good number of years now so it's not just going to be like they've just
01:42been out of it and they'll probably have some players who are are capable of just easing into
01:46that new that new division but no they've been out of it a long time and so a lot of the players
01:51whilst they may be able to make that jump because they are young and fit and able and they've got
01:55the quality they will need to add depth and further quality to their ranks to be able to cope with the
02:00further demands and the increases in quality that League One will bring at Valley Parades so certainly
02:06it won't just be a simple step they'll have to get the summer right in terms of who they bring in
02:10and getting their due diligence right as well because you don't just want to bring in the wrong type of
02:14player you need someone who's in it for the long haul because this is a club of course as we've
02:18mentioned previously who don't just want to be surviving in League One now they've gone up they
02:23want to be thriving in League One I think many people at the club within the within the setup there
02:29would see Bradford City as a club who could not only just be content with being mid-table in League One
02:35or even just surviving in League One they'd like to be at the top of League One and pushing towards
02:40the championship certainly they've got the fan base the stadium the infrastructure to
02:44to be a club that can push even higher in the English football pyramid it's just about doing that now and
02:49obviously you've got to do that on the field but firstly across the summer they've got to get it right
02:53off the field crucially as well so as you say a huge window ahead so where do you think they need to be
03:00looking well that's obviously there's a case and argument for every team to to strengthen all across
03:05the pitch but of course that's not always possible because funds are limited due to ownership as well as
03:11restrictions on financial spending from from the divisions as well so I think clearly Bradford City
03:19had no issue scoring last season but again you look are they when they go in into League One a step up
03:25in quality in defensive quality as well from other teams will they need to add to their firepower and
03:32the answer is probably yes I think a new striker who can cope with the demands of League One may need to be
03:39brought in because of course it's all well and good playing the good football that they've played
03:42in League Two but they need to then make sure that they're taking the chances they create as well
03:46because if they don't do that then they may as well just give up now so as much as they have got some
03:50good strikers and some good forwards in that team you know the likes of Anthony Sarsovic who scored that's
03:55that important goal on the last day of the season you need players as well and who have just got that
04:02little bit even more and not only just for that as well you need to be able to rotate it's a long
04:06old season yes they've had a long old season in League Two but it'll be a long old season in League
04:09One as well and with the increase of quality demands you'll need perhaps even more rotational
04:15abilities too and then of course you could argue the midfield is perhaps all right but certainly
04:20in a defensive point of view as well you could do with some strengthening in my opinion too so
04:26certainly I think the priorities for Bradford this summer will be in the forward line and the defensive
04:30line and of course anything else that comes alongside that in terms of midfield
04:33well that that's a bonus as well but I think the key priorities for Bradford all this season
04:38spending the money wisely and putting it in the forward line and the defensive line for the next season
04:44you
