Gavin and Stacey is a beloved show, and Doris was a beloved character on the show, so it’s no surprise that after her house went up for sale, a virtual tour of the property has had thousands of views online. The property on Trinity Street was one of the show’s iconic spots, and fans still travel to Barry just to catch a glimpse of the houses.

00:00Gavin and Stacey is undoubtedly one of the most iconic shows to ever come out of Wales,
00:07and a big part of that is down to the location.
00:09Barry Island has become just as much a character in the series as Smithy, Nessa, or Uncle Bryn.
00:15The characters, the humour, the storylines, they're all unforgettable,
00:18but it's the homes they live in that really ground the show in reality.
00:22Gwen's house on Trinity Street, Uncle Bryn's across the road,
00:25Cam and Mick's so-called Essek home, which is actually in Dynas Powys,
00:28and then, of course, there's Doris's.
00:32Doris's house, right next door to Gwen's, has just gone up for sale,
00:34and it's caused a bit of a stir online.
00:37Thousands of people have viewed the virtual tour, shared by Chris Davis estate agents,
00:41keen to get a look inside one of Wales' most famous TV homes.
00:46In the show, Doris lived there until her passing,
00:49written in after actress Margaret John sadly died in 2011.
00:52The house was left to Gavin and Stacey in her will,
00:55and that's where they stayed in the later Christmas specials.
00:59We never saw inside Doris's home when she was alive on screen,
01:02but it finally featured during the festive episodes,
01:05and now fans are jumping at the chance to peek inside for real.
01:09But estate agents say an offer has already been accepted,
01:12so it looks like the dream may be over for fans hoping to make it their own,
01:15but the buzz online shows just how alive the Gavin and Stacey fandom still is,
01:19not just in Wales, but across the UK and beyond.
01:22Uncle Bryn's house went on the market a few years back,
01:28but it's not often homes this iconic come up for sale.
01:31And while this one might be off the table,
01:33fans can still drive down Trinity Street,
01:35past Gwen's, Bryn's and Doris's,
01:37and relive the magic, even just from the pavement.
