00:00Now, Bradford City are not leaving business late to ensure they have a successful campaign after their return to League One.
00:09Obviously, they're going up automatically from a tough League Two campaign, but they'll go into League One facing an even tougher group of opposition.
00:17It's so important that they get things right early on in this window.
00:22You know, obviously, they had Andy Cook, who was a top goal scorer and then suffered an ACL injury in January.
00:28That was obviously a massive blow to their season.
00:31Do they need to sort of make sure that they are replacing those goals for the time being and ensure that they're not going light in the goal-getting area?
00:41Obviously, a fair few goals for the new season would be to consolidate in League One.
00:47They want to make sure they avoid any sort of relegation, battle, any sort of challenge near the bottom of the table.
00:54They want to boost goals in terms of depth.
00:56They must compensate for Cook's injury absence and they must stabilise away performances as well.
01:02So, you know, they need to make sure they replicate that value per a dominance on the road as well.
01:09So, massive challenges ahead, massive bit of ambition.
01:13Dan, our Yorkshire correspondent.
01:15Dan, just look at Bradford City's upcoming season, how they're going into it,
01:19how they are making sure that they have all the sort of right things in place for this new campaign.
01:26It's obviously a big summer ahead and they are going about it in the right way so far.
01:30I'm sure fans are very excited for what's to come.
01:33Well, Charles, Bradford City certainly seem to have their aims in alignment at the moment.
01:38They've brought in six new transfers this summer already and also they've tied down a couple of new players to new contracts as well,
01:46including goalkeeper Sam Walker.
01:49So, clearly, Graham Alexander and his staff and the board at the club, including, of course, Ryan Sparks, the CEO,
01:55they're all very much on this push for recruitment at the moment.
01:58And I'm guessing, or it would presume at least, that they've got this aim of not just surviving next season in Ligue 1 in mind,
02:04but really pushing up the table.
02:06Otherwise, you know, why would we be seeing so many transfers come into the club so early
02:11as if they weren't planning for something quite spectacular next season?
02:16Obviously, you know, promotion is another promotion, at least, back-to-back.
02:21That would be remarkable.
02:21But even if that doesn't happen, just the fact that they're trying to at least solidify hugely in the league
02:27and not just be scraping survival shows exactly where this club is going and where they want it to go as well.
02:34And it's not just the fact that they've got this aim, but this has been backed up by the type of player they're bringing into the club.
02:40You know, the likes of Max Power, for example, who are seasoned pros at this level and who have won at this level before.
02:47So, they know what it's all about.
02:50Clearly, they have this aim in mind.
02:52And to be honest, though, you wouldn't actually put it past them that promotion was an aim this season from Ligue 1
02:57because, of course, you have to look at the fact that Birmingham are no longer in Ligue 1,
03:01Wrexham are no longer in Ligue 1,
03:03and Bradford City is a club in terms of their size, are a big club at this level.
03:08There's no denying that.
03:09So, if they can push their weight about a bit, and they clearly are doing it in the transfer market at the moment,
03:14bringing in players who want to be up for this fight and get Bradford City as a sleeping giant,
03:19as one of them has described it, back towards the top
03:21and perhaps even towards the second tier of English football into the championship.
03:26Then, they're going about it in the right way this summer.
03:28Obviously, you know, it all depends on how things go when we end up on the pitch in August
03:34and how things go when the season starts.
03:36But, they're giving a really good go at it, aren't they?
03:39The best they certainly can in the transfer market.
03:41They're being bullish, they're being brave and bold and really going out there,
03:45getting the targets they want and acquiring them as well, crucially,
03:49and getting in ahead before any competition could even get to them as well.
03:53And, you can't imagine that they're done yet, to be honest,
03:56because at the minute, it just feels like they've got a new transfer rolling through the Dort Valley Parade
03:59every other day or every two to three days.
04:02It's been that chaotic, well, I say chaotic,
04:04but that sort of, that much progression going on at the club,
04:08that it feels a bit chaotic because there's just so many coming in.
04:11Of course, the worry you have is that with so many new faces coming in to the club,
04:15do they gel quickly or do they take time to bed in?
04:19And, of course, that's probably why they're bringing them in so early.
04:21So, they've got time to gel throughout pre-season, but even then, that can take time.
04:25So, that's perhaps the risk in bringing in so many new faces into the club.
04:29But, certainly, because of what their aims probably are,
04:33they're going about it in the best way that they think is possible
04:36by bringing in so many new faces and hoping that it adds to their strength
04:40and their depth as a club as well.
