00:00Police were called to the property here on Cleveland Street in Surrey Hills at around 2pm yesterday afternoon after reports of a concern for welfare.
00:11When they arrived they found the body of a man inside and quickly established a crime scene.
00:16A short time later though they found the body of a second man located in a different room.
00:23Now police say that the men aged in their 70s and 80s are believed to have died at different times over the past month.
00:32A 63 year old woman who also lived inside the home and is understood to be the property owner has been spoken to by detectives.
00:40Now the ABC understands that all three residents of the home are understood to have some form of mental disability.
00:48And at the moment police say there is no apparent injuries to the two men's bodies which indicate that they suffered some form of trauma.
00:57So in the early stages of this investigation it's not necessarily being treated as a homicide investigation.
01:03But police are yet to rule out any motive or any reason for their deaths until they get a forensic report.
01:11Which we've seen plenty of forensic officers here over the last 24 hours now.
01:16And this news has certainly shocked many residents who came to knew these residents over the past few years.
01:23Quite a sad, sad situation just due to the living arrangements there and these two people have obviously just kind of passed away in the house from the sounds of things.
01:35And they're both really nice, you know, always pass them on the street.
01:38One of the guys used to have a VB longneck out the front there so it is a bit of a sad sitch.
01:43I saw all of the police here yesterday and things like that.
01:46Residents have continued to walk down the street here on Cleveland Street wondering what has taken place here.
01:55And still in a state of shock learning that two people that they had come to know incredibly well over the past few years have now passed away.
02:03The home remains a crime scene and is still taped off as police continue their investigations.
02:09The two men who died are yet to be formally identified.
