00:00Just after 5pm yesterday, a white ute pulled up to the lights behind me and a Mercedes
00:10allegedly drove up and shot at that ute.
00:13The driver and the front passenger received multiple gunshot wounds during that incident.
00:21They were treated at the scene by paramedics and were taken to hospital.
00:26Now, the ABC has just confirmed the identities of those two victims.
00:31There's 32-year-old Dawood Zakaria and 25-year-old Sylvain Singh.
00:36Now, Dawood Zakaria is related to the alleged underworld crime figure Masood Zakaria,
00:44who was extradited from Turkey Air in 2023 and is now in Goulburn Correctional Centre.
00:50Sylvain Singh is a Sydney lawyer who works in a nearby Parramatta law firm.
00:58Now, Mr Zakaria remains in hospital in a critical condition, but Mr Singh is now in a stable condition.
01:08We've also just heard from police this morning that the two other occupants in that white ute
01:13that were uninjured have been arrested and charged.
01:17They've been refused bail because when police searched that ute yesterday afternoon,
01:24they found a firearm which they seized.
01:28Those two men will face Parramatta Court this morning charged with firearm offences.
01:34Another fact just added on to that as well, the police found a burnt-out vehicle which they believe
01:44is related to, which they're investigating rather, whether it's related to this incident.
01:50That burnt-out vehicle was found in Maryland's West, which is just a short while away from here.
01:57But we're just awaiting further information from police this morning.
