Several shots have been fired at a home in Sydney’s north-west

Police believe the latest overnight shooting at a family home in Sydney was a targeted attack.

00:00Police say they are investigating the targeted attack of a family in Kellyville.

00:07A 36-year-old man and a 36-year-old woman as well as their 3-year-old child were at home at the time

00:13when three to four suspects approached their front door.

00:17The man, hearing a noise outside, confronted the suspects

00:20and after a brief interaction, one of the suspects opened fire.

00:24The man narrowly escaped the bullets before the suspects fled the scene.

00:28Shortly after being called to the home, police found a white Toyota set alight on a nearby street

00:34and now say they are investigating whether the vehicle is related to the shooting.

00:38Superintendent Naomi Moore says while the attack isn't being linked to gang violence just yet,

00:44that the shooting was targeted.

00:46This instance, I do believe, was a targeted attack

00:49and I do say to the community that while we're doing everything that we can,

00:53just to be vigilant, you know, in terms of going back and looking at your CCTV footage

00:57to assist us with this investigation will help further investigations.
