Clyde North stabbings leave two men dead in Melbourne

Detectives in Victoria are investigating a double homicide at Clyde North in Melbourne’s south-east. The two men who are related, were stabbed at a family birthday celebration. It is believed a third male left before police arrived.

00:00Well, it was a birthday party that turned sour.

00:05Two men died here on Observatory Street in Clyde North last night.

00:10Emergency services arrived here just after 9.30pm and located two men with stab wounds.

00:17A medical assistance was provided, but they both died at the scene.

00:21We now know the victims to be a 23-year-old and 54-year-old man, both from the Seaford

00:28area.

00:29They were family members and also related to the homeowners that hosted the party.

00:35And police said it was an argument that escalated into a brawl that then spilled out onto the

00:40street.

00:41They estimate that about 20 people were involved in that brawl and several people then left

00:47the area afterwards.

01:06to police arriving and we really need to speak to those people so we can piece together exactly

01:13It's unclear how many people were involved in the attack itself, nor is it clear what

01:18weapon exactly was used and whether it was one or multiple for those lethal attacks.

01:24Police are calling for anyone with CCTV or dash cam footage or any additional information

01:31to come forward to unveil how this celebration so quickly turned into a tragedy.
