The Miami Marlins win streak was snapped by a slow-ass umpire, they fell to the Twins 2-1. Kyle Stowers hit his 15th home run of the season. The Fish were screwed out of a game tying RBI single in the Bottom of the 6th when Stowers line drive at 117MPH 'may have' clipped 2nd base umpire Emil Jimenez.

00:00You know, I just wish you guys would stop the quibbling.
00:06Oh, man.
00:08Tommy was quibbling last night.
00:10Tommy was quibbling last night.
00:12He was not happy.
00:14Didn't go all the way, though, Leroy.
00:16He didn't go all the way.
00:17Did you see what happened to the Marlins game last night, Leroy?
00:19No, I didn't.
00:21No, none of you tuned in to watch the Marlins try and tie a franchise record last night?
00:27Nobody.
00:27You know what?
00:29I was in the middle of the rain and trying to prepare my ribs.
00:37Prepare your ribs?
00:39What are you, Rocky Balboa?
00:40Are you hitting the cow?
00:43You're going to break it up, Balboa.
00:44Clearly, clearly, clearly you're not a top-level griller.
00:52Hey, dude, I'm not.
00:53First of all, I'm a top-level griller.
00:54Second of all.
00:55No, you're not.
00:56No, you're not.
00:57If you just open up the pack of ribs, throw some seasoning on it, and throw it on the grill,
01:02you've got to prep the ribs.
01:04You've got to shave the ribs.
01:06You've got to get the membrane off the back.
01:09It takes a little time.
01:11Okay.
01:12Especially when you're cooking Tim Racks.
01:13Where did you do this?
01:14In the kitchen or outside?
01:15In the kitchen.
01:16Okay.
01:18You don't have a phone?
01:19You can throw the fish on?
01:20Like, you can just throw them?
01:21Oh, wait.
01:21You can see the TV in your living room.
01:23You didn't throw the fish on in the background?
01:24No.
01:24A little rib prep for the...
01:26A little ribbies for the rib prep?
01:28My wife was watching TV.
01:30Well, you want to know something?
01:32Here's what happened.
01:33Okay.
01:33The Marlins got completely screwed out of keeping their win streak going because of a slow-footed
01:42umpire who I don't even know if he was hit by the baseball because the Marlins in the
01:47sixth inning, Jesus Sanchez leads off with the double.
01:51Kyle Stowers, who's one of the hottest hitters in baseball right now, hit his 15th home run
01:56of the season yesterday, he gets up there and he hits a real piss whistle up the middle
02:02and this is easily, easily scoring Jesus Sanchez.
02:09He could have walked backwards and would have scored.
02:14And this umpire throws up the hands as he does a little do-si-do.
02:20So, maybe the baseball hit him.
02:23I didn't see it hit him.
02:24He calls umpire interference, which...
02:29He only gets one base.
02:31Not...
02:32No!
02:33He gets no bases!
02:35No bases!
02:36He says, Jesus Sanchez, you stay your ass at second base.
02:41Only Stowers gets a hit!
02:44So, it's first and second two outs.
02:46And I'm like, are you...
02:48What?
02:50Are you kidding me?
02:52Wait, how is that even possible?
02:54Great question, Leroy!
02:56That's a great question!
02:58How is it possible?
03:00Wait, wait, tell them.
03:01How is that possible?
03:02Jennifer, great question!
03:04How in the hell is that possible that this dim-witted, slow-footed umpire,
03:13who may or may not have been hit, is allowed to just...
03:17Did the ball make it to the outfield?
03:19Easily, dude!
03:20We all thought it was a single up the middle!
03:22We all...
03:23We thought it was a single, a rocket, and the...
03:26Jesus Sanchez was like, I could moonwalk to first base.
03:29He was off and running.
03:31There was two outs.
03:32Go on contact.
03:32It was like, it was...
03:35And he gets...
03:36Wait, I can't figure out.
03:39Here's the part that I would have a problem with.
03:43If it was two outs, there's no...
03:48Nothing in the world that could happen that wouldn't at least get him third base.
03:54A hundred percent!
03:55Because he's moving anyway on the pitch.
03:58But let's forget about even that...
04:00I don't even know if it hit the umpire!
04:03I don't think he did!
04:05It like, it went...
04:06And like, the guy's like...
04:07He was doing like this crane kick to try and get out of the way.
04:13I think he did.
04:14But he did the old, it touched me, coach.
04:16I touched the ball.
04:17And I'm like, what?
04:18You shut up, dude!
04:20That ball was going...
04:21What did they say?
04:22I think they said it was a hundred and seventy miles an hour off Stowers' bat.
04:26A missile!
04:28And they said, oh, I think you hit me.
04:30So, my question to you is this.
04:34And here's...
04:35I used to say this in football.
04:37If your old, fat ass can't get out of the way of a ball that's hit ninety to a hundred feet away,
04:48then your ass shouldn't be doing that.
04:51Okay?
04:51The biggest problem I had in football is you got a whole bunch of fifty-plus guys on a retirement plan
04:58trying to chase world-class athletes around.
05:02And when they can't keep up, they have a device or a mechanism that they can use to bail them out.
05:11And that's basically what that was.
05:13Because, hey, my slow, fat ass couldn't get out of the way, so I'm going to say it hit me.
05:20Well, I know why you're shaming him.
05:23He wasn't even a fat umpire.
05:25He wasn't even an old umpire.
05:26I know why we think all umpires look like Country Joe West.
05:29I'm watching it right now.
05:31I just assume all umps are old.
05:33Of course.
05:33We all think they look like Country Joe West.
05:36Barely can see.
05:37Kind of look like pugs.
05:38But, like, everybody's confused.
05:42They're like...
05:43Wait, wait, wait.
05:44How does a ball that hits the umpire get all the way almost damn near to the wall?
05:51Because they don't even think it hit him!
05:54I don't even think it hit him!
05:56I think he was afraid it hit him, and he just reacted with his arms like...
05:59Oh, my God.
06:02I was so...
06:03Wait, why is he looking at the runner?
06:04He was looking this way!
06:10And McCullough's like, excuse me?
06:13And the guy's like, there's nothing I can do.
06:15And that's what they just kept saying.
06:16They're like, well, there's nothing you can do.
06:17Once you call it, you call it.
06:18It's over.
06:19Dead ball.
06:20It's like, huh?
06:21What do you mean?
06:23Replay!
06:24Robots!
06:24What are we doing here?
06:27We're talking...
06:28The Marlins are sitting here rolling right now.
06:30And an old cement feet can't get out of the way?
06:35Why is he that close anyway?
06:38I don't know, dude.
06:40Wait, he's closer than the second baseman.
06:42He basically has to be a second baseman to get out of the way in Major League Baseball!
06:48He's probably there to get in position to, I guess, call a pickoff, I guess.
06:52I'm guessing that's the only reason.
06:53It's because they're probably holding the runner at second.
06:56And he's like, well, if they try and pick him off, I gotta be in this position.
06:59I'm guessing that's why.
07:00But who cares?
07:02It didn't hit him!
07:03Marlins got screwed out of a run!
07:05Should be tied!
07:08I mean, it was...
07:10And the problem is, McCullough's too nice.
07:18I mean...
07:18Because I knew that there's a lot of ball coaches that would have lost their mind.
07:27The great Lloyd McClendon would have taken second base away.
07:32He would have been like, I'm taking second base and you're doing nothing about it.
07:36Tommy Hutton yesterday.
07:38See, you know, Tommy Hutton, he's a gem.
07:40Even though he told us not to quibble, this man can be top quibbler when it comes to the umpires.
07:46And you could tell.
07:47He was...
07:48I think what happened yesterday, you know, the Marlins have a new television voice.
07:53Kyle Seelhoff, who's done a very good job this year.
07:55But it's a new relationship.
07:56I feel like if he's there with, like, Rich Walsh in his real comfort zone, like, he's going over the edge and he wants to strangle that umpire.
08:04But I think he felt a little reserved because it's a new partnership.
08:08But Tommy Hutton's like, what do you...
08:11He's like, Tommy Hutton...
08:13Do you know how much baseball Tommy Hutton has watched, Jennifer?
08:17It's possibly been as many hours as he's been alive.
08:20He has watched so much baseball.
08:23And he said, I don't think I've ever seen that.
08:26I don't think I've ever seen that.
08:28Especially of that consequence.
08:31I...
08:31The thing that I hate, right, is...
08:37A player can boot the ball.
08:40A pitcher can throw a bad pitch.
08:42A hitter can strike out, right, to lose a game.
08:48But under no circumstances should it ever be the guys there watching the game.
08:55Under no circumstances.
08:58And never.
08:59And the problem I have with that is, anytime I watch any sport,
09:05and the people that aren't the players affect the game,
09:13then I have a problem with that.
09:16And so, the whole problem with that is,
09:20you made yourself a part of a game that you shouldn't be a part of.
09:25Like, do...
09:26The people that decided...
09:28Because here's what happens.
09:29They go to school for all this.
09:32And they figure out the positioning in different circumstances.
09:37And what I would like Major League Baseball
09:39and the umpires and refs to tell me to explain this.
09:46When certain guys get up
09:48who hit the ball so damn hard
09:51that the second baseman and the shortstop
09:55are almost in the outfield to make a play.
09:59The top of the top in their profession.
10:03What makes you think
10:05you can get the hell out of the way
10:06standing in the infield?
10:09Explain that to me.
10:13It's stupid that he was even there in the first place.
10:18That's the problem I have with all of this.
10:22As hard as that ball was hit,
10:25even with the second baseman on the edge of the grass,
10:28to make a play,
10:29he's got to die.
10:30The best of the best.
10:33And we got all fat-ass in a uniform
10:36sitting in the infield
10:38thinking he's going to be able to get out of the way
10:41when the professionals are 15 yards behind him?
10:45I don't even think that he got hit.
10:48That's the other thing.
10:49That ball was so scorching.
10:50Why did he call that?
10:52A lot of sports
10:54has to do more with positioning
10:57than actually making a play.
11:00When you see things like this,
11:02you want to go like,
11:04hey, it's incompetence.
11:06Yes!
11:07Yes!
11:08But I got to be honest with you.
11:12We just had this whole Malik Beasley thing
11:14that's going on.
11:15Like,
11:16how do I watch that
11:17and not think the umpire's on the take?
11:20I don't know what else am I supposed to think.
11:23I'm just waving a runoff.
11:24Ha!
11:25But here's the other thing.
11:29With as hard
11:30as these guys are hitting baseballs now
11:34and as deep
11:36as possible,
11:38as deep as they can get
11:40to protect
11:41that guy
11:42from scoring.
11:44So,
11:44the infield
11:45is extremely deep
11:47to try to
11:48stop the ball
11:49to stop the guy
11:50from second scoring.
11:51Now,
11:52that's positioning.
11:53Mm-hmm.
11:54What in the hell
11:55makes you think
11:56that an old guy
11:59who's not
12:02a world-class athlete
12:04is going to be able
12:05to get out of the way
12:06with him standing
12:07in the infield
12:08looking at second base?
12:10Just frustrated, man.
12:12It's
12:12it's stupid
12:13on baseball's part.
12:16That guy
12:17should never be there.
12:19Why do they need
12:19especially in that situation?
12:21What do we need anymore?
12:22Let's just
12:22just get the robots out here.
12:24We don't need it.
12:25When I watch baseball
12:26and I watch
12:28some of the calls
12:29that are made
12:30and I watch
12:32some of the balls
12:33and strikes
12:33that are called
12:34You're watching it now?
12:36Yeah.
12:36And I watch
12:36dumb crap like this
12:38and I watch
12:39dumb crap like this
12:41right?
12:44I'm truly starting
12:46to believe
12:47that we don't need him.
12:49When you are
12:50when you have
12:53that much
12:54of an impact
12:55on a game
12:55because you're bad
12:57or you're in a bad spot
12:59get him out of there.
13:02And so
13:02when they say
13:03oh, we need him
13:04for this, this, and this
13:05in order for him
13:07to get out
13:08of the way
13:08he had to be
13:10better than
13:11the second baseman
13:13who's getting paid
13:14millions of dollars.
13:16It's crazy, man.
13:17That's the part
13:18from an athlete
13:19perspective
13:19that's the part
13:20I need people
13:21to understand.
13:22Right?
13:23It's like the umpire
13:25or the referee
13:26standing in the middle
13:27of the field
13:27in football.
13:29There's a guy
13:30running
13:30four or five
13:31or better
13:32across the middle
13:33of the field.
13:34There's a quarterback
13:35throwing a piss whistle
13:36trying to throw it
13:37in between two defenders.
13:40How the hell
13:40is he gonna get
13:41out the way?
13:43It's crazy
13:44that somebody
13:46in baseball
13:47and all
13:48of the baseball
13:49that they've watched
13:50have come
13:51to the conclusion
13:52the best place
13:55for this guy
13:56to be right there
13:57is to be pointed
13:59at second base
14:00like this
14:01and not looking
14:02at home play.
14:04Well, do me a favor
14:04Emil Jimenez
14:06with your ass
14:07at first base today.
14:08Stay in foul territory,
14:09huh?
14:11Just stay on the other
14:12side of the line.
14:12Do me a favor.
14:13Get out of the way.
14:14Just get out of the way
14:15Emil.
14:15Get out of here.
14:16And then
14:17after all that
14:18they run home.
14:20After the game
14:21get the hell out of there
14:23so they don't have
14:23to answer to it.
14:24What are you gonna do?
14:26Talk to one reporter
14:28about what happened
14:28and get out of here.
14:30It's like
14:31I hate
14:31I just don't like
14:33in any sport
14:35when
14:37after
14:38a hard-fought game
14:40or a close game
14:41that
14:43we're not talking
14:44about great pitching
14:45we're not talking
14:46about great
14:47hitting
14:48great fielding
14:49we're talking
14:51about a guy
14:51who should have
14:53no impact
14:54on the outcome
14:55of the game.
14:56He is there
14:57to officiate.
14:58He should have
14:59no impact
15:01on the game.
15:02You should not
15:02be talking
15:03about a call
15:03he made
15:04or him being
15:05in the way.
15:06You shouldn't.
15:07No, no.
15:07And this is the thing
15:08where it comes down to
15:08right?
15:09It's like
15:09let's say he doesn't
15:11call it
15:11is Rocco Baldelli
15:13who by the way
15:14him being the
15:15Minnesota Twins
15:16manager
15:17warps my mind
15:17a little bit
15:18but Rocco Baldelli
15:20does he come out
15:20there and he goes
15:21oh you interfered
15:22with it
15:23no
15:24it looked like
15:25a hit
15:25ridiculous
15:27anyway
15:28that
15:31and
15:32it's
15:33not really
15:34I get it
15:35I get it
