01:59Adolfo Washington. Norris is undefeated at 190 pounds and is considered by many to be the
02:05division's unofficial undisputed champion. It's Norris versus Washington for the WBA Cruiserweight
02:12Championship. Julian Jackson is hoping for the luck of the Irish this St. Patrick's Day. After
02:17two losses to Gerald McClellan, Jackson hopes to become champion again. Tonight he fights for the
02:21vacant WBC middleweight title against number one contender Agostino Cardamone. It's Cardamone
02:27versus Jackson for the WBC middleweight championship. And Irish eyes will be smiling on Boston heavyweight
02:33Peter McNeely. This third generation boxer will be featured in a 10-round foul. It's all coming to
02:39you on St. Patrick's Day live from the Worcester Memorial Auditorium on Showtime Championship Boxing.
02:57Greetings from Worcester, Massachusetts, about 45 minutes from the city of Boston. And what better
03:05sight to celebrate St. Paddy's Day than here in this locale where the inhabitants take this holiday
03:10very much to heart. A festive atmosphere as the fans make their arrival for a big night of boxing.
03:17And we shall see just who has the luck of the Irish on his side tonight.
03:21And this evening we are live from the Worcester Memorial Auditorium, affectionately known as the
03:27odd and intimate setting, capacity about 3,000. The fans can practically reach out and touch the
03:32fighters from the close balcony. This hall oozing with charm, character, and history. It was built back
03:37in 1933. Yes, it's a world championship doubleheader featuring Orlin Norris, who has dominated the
03:44cruiserweight division. Also two-time world champion Julian the Hawk Jackson seeks to become a champion
03:49again in the battle for the vacant WVC middleweight title. It's Friday Night Fights from Worcester.
03:57Hello again, everybody. I'm Steve Albert. Welcome to another edition of Showtime Championship Boxing.
04:01And we come to you tonight for the first time since bringing you that tragic fight from the east end of
04:06London, February the 25th, in which Gerald McClellan suffered life-threatening injuries at the hands of
04:12Nigel Benn. Now, ironically, one of the titles being fought for tonight used to belong to McClellan,
04:17the WVC middleweight crown. On the subject of Gerald McClellan, let us offer this latest update on his
04:24condition. From the press office of the Royal London Hospital, Gerald McClellan's condition is still
04:29serious but no longer critical. His life is no longer in danger. He is slowly but steadily improving.
04:35He is breathing on his own, opening his eyes, and beginning to move as he has been taken off
04:40medication. He appears to be more aware of his surroundings. With that, let me bring on my partner
04:47at ringside the fight doctor, Ferdie Pacheco. And Ferdie, you've had some time to reflect. Your thoughts
04:52now on the aftermath of the McClellan incident. Well, every time there's a tragedy, and this was almost
04:57a dark tragedy, there's something good that comes out of it. Amazingly enough, you can get something
05:04out of this. In this case, Gerald McClellan's alive because of the expert and speedy teamwork of the
05:10London physicians. Inside of two hours, they had Gerald McClellan in a hospital and open and getting
05:16the blood out. More than that would have resulted in his death. It's interesting to note that boxing
05:22commissions throughout the world took umbrage of my messages and saying that they should tend to their
05:28own commissions to make sure that they do what the British Boxing Commission has done. Of course, ruffle
05:34feathers are nothing near in boxing. Everybody gets mad at us, as you well know. I'm happy that they're mad
05:38because if it means that they look at the way the British did this and copy them, then we will save lives.
05:45This is about saving lives. This is not about ruffle feeling. Boxers are saved because of speed.
05:50Only that is what we're interested in. All the harsh criticism aside of my commentary, your commentary,
05:58if at the end of the day, boxing commissions re-evaluate their position and adopt the British
06:04Boxing Board of Control's way of taking care of fights, we'll be in much better shape. The box is the
06:09most important property of all in boxing. We'll be safer, and I, for one, will be glad. To do less
06:15things, would be criminal negligence, as far as I'm concerned. All right. My partner was and is very
06:22praiseworthy of London and very critical of Mexico City, is what you were referring to in terms of their
06:27medical readiness based on our recent experiences in those cities. Right now, joining us is the co-promoter
06:33of the Ben McClellan fight, Mr. Frank Warren. Come on in, Frank. Who is responsible for the safety
06:38precautions at a fight? Well, in England, all the responsibility for the medical backup is the local
06:44commission, which is the British Boxing Board of Control. And for the fight in London, the recent one,
06:50we had long talked to them, and we decided to bring over and above the medical requirements and had an
06:55anesthetist at the ring. And thank God that helped to save Joe McClellan's life. But there seems to be a lot of
07:00confusion. I mean, what roles do the local commission and the sanctioning bodies play in terms of safety
07:06precaution? Well, you know, Britain's got quite a good record as far as what that medical supervision.
07:12And it was a WBC title fight, but it would come under British Boxing Board of Control local
07:17regulations. So it was their medical relations ready regulations that were in force on the night. And
07:23why were you so ready where others are not? I think because we had a couple of problems in the past in
07:29London. Last year, I was involved in a tragedy with a boxer called Bradley Stone, who unfortunately
07:33died. And that was my first time in 15 years of boxing that had happened. And so to ensure that we
07:39had the boxers best welfare and interest at heart, we decided that we would do the best we can. And
07:45that was to get an anesthetist at ringside. And we've been doing that and certainly done it in our last
07:49fight. And every doctor that we have at ringside has an anesthetist capability. So that's what we do for
07:58the boxer. It's a dangerous sport. Nobody's going to ever come in a plan with statistics. It is a
08:02dangerous sport. And the bottom line is these guys can get injured and do get injured. And you've got
08:07to make sure you've got the best medical backup there for them to get them to hospital. It's called
08:11a golden hour. That golden hour so that the doctors can get to work on them so they can, as Bernie said,
08:17you know, open them up and operate and relieve the blood pressure on the brain. All right, Frank,
08:20we've got to move on. Thanks so much for joining us. Thank you. Frank Warren. Again, our hearts and
08:24prayers go out to Gerald McClellan and his family. Now we turn our attention to tonight. And we should
08:29point out Bobby Chez is not with us. He's busy training for a heavyweight fight next week. We wish
08:34Bobby a lot of luck. In addition to the two world championship fights on tonight's card and an
08:38interesting undercard that included a local favorite and up and coming heavyweight who hails from nearby
08:43Medfield masked by the name of Peter McNeely. Quite fitting on this St. Patrick's Day. McNeely
08:48following the footsteps of his father and grandfather. His grandpa was on the 1928 U.S. Olympic boxing team.
08:54His dad fought Floyd Patterson for the heavyweight title in 1961. As you might expect, McNeely is very
09:01proud of his family tradition. 1928, the Fighting Irish McNeely family started its quest for a dream.
09:10My grandfather, Tom McNeely Sr., fought on the 1928 Olympic team. And he fought on the first fight
09:16card at Boston Garden in 1928. And when he retired, he brought my dad up a boxer. My dad rose to the
09:23heavyweight championship of the world in 1961. He fought Floyd Patterson, knocked him down,
09:27made the cover of Sports Illustrated. And I think that's when the dream began for me.
09:32When I was about seven years old, I went up the attic, found the magazines. And from that day,
09:37I knew exactly what I wanted to be in life. And I think it's only fitting that on St. Patrick's Day
09:42this year, I'm going to make my opponent kiss the blarney stone.
09:47And McNeely living up to his word. Earlier tonight, McNeely squared off with Danny Lee Wofford. Word is
09:54McNeely using this fight as a tune-up to a proposed bout with former heavyweight champion Mike Tyson
10:00at Foxborough Stadium this coming summer. That is sheer speculation. And this, this was one that was
10:07over at the weigh-in. Here was round one and about that was clearly miscast. McNeely having his way,
10:13pummeling the overmatched and overweight Wofford almost at will. Wofford, although a woeful 1440 and
10:21two going in, known for at least going the distance. In fact, in 14 straight defeats,
10:26he heard the final bell. But this, a match that will not go into the boxing archives. McNeely
10:31didn't waste much time in putting Wofford on the canvas. He stayed down until the count of nine.
10:36He got up. Then after the referee interceded, McNeely went right back to work.
10:46No contest. Now, in the corner after round one, Wofford claimed he could not see out of his left eye,
10:52did not answer the bell for round two. The official word, McNeely by TKO in the second.
10:58McNeely goes to 35 and 129 knockouts. Here's a guy who is joining the long list of hopefuls to
11:04fight Mike Tyson, but no way to really measure McNeely against a fighter like Wofford.
11:11So here at the Worcester Memorial Auditorium in Worcester, Massachusetts, we are standing by now for
11:15tonight's featured championship bouts. In our co-feature, it'll be top ranked and undefeated
11:20Agostino Cartamone going against the number two rated contender and former champion Julian Jackson
11:25for the vacant WBC middleweight championship. And right now, let's take you behind the scenes
11:31into the dressing room of two-time world champion Julian the Hawk Jackson looking to
11:36recapture the title he first won back in 1990 via fourth round knockout over Harold Graham.
11:41He held the title until 93 when he ran into Gerald McClellan who stopped him in the fifth tonight.
11:46The Hawk looks to soar once again.
11:56I'm a puncher. I have a very good job. I'm also a boxer. But still, my style is to punch.
12:11And punch Julian Jackson has. For the past 14 years, he has earned a reputation as one of
12:17boxing's purest punchers, compiling an impressive 50 wins with just three losses. 41 of those victories
12:24coming in five rounds or less. Having won his first 29 fights convincingly, Jackson got his first world
12:30title shot against the WBA junior middleweight champion Mike McCallum in 1986. Though Jackson suffered
12:36his first major setback in the ring, losing to McCallum in the second round, he had the chance to redeem
12:42himself just one year later. The opponent had changed, but the goal remained the same. This time,
12:48it was Jackson who struck early and prevailed over Angel Beck to win the WBA junior middleweight
12:53championship, a title he held for nearly three years. And in 1990, he moved up in weight to capture
12:59the WBC middleweight title with relative ease. When I won the WBC middleweight championship,
13:07I think I was supposed to defend it at least a couple of times and then go back down. But
13:12the victories and how that is when you start winning and getting into the hype of actually winning.
13:22Jackson quickly defended his title five times over the next two years. His only close call,
13:29a tough 12 round decision against Thomas Tate. Then on May 8, 1993, the powerful and confident
13:36Jackson met his match. A strong young fighter named Gerald McClellan, whose reputation as a big puncher
13:42rivaled Jackson. Either one of these two guys got anything in mind except survival here.
13:50What a right hand by Julian Jackson. McClellan hanging in there.
13:56But Jackson's longstanding streak of overpowering his opponents was about to come to an end.
14:01Oh, there. Julian got a winner right here. Down goes Jackson.
14:07And there's a minute left to go. King McClellan finished him off. He's down again.
14:14He's not going to make this. Julian Jackson. It's over. It's over.
14:20Bill Swain has stopped the fight. It's over.
14:23Gerald was a strong, you know, puncher also. And I felt that I had control. And,
14:29um, you know, I was using my job, my lateral movement. And I was catching up to him. And,
14:35um, it just happened that I made a mistake and he caught me.
14:38Less than a year later, Jackson returned to the ring seeking revenge. Again,
14:42he would battle McClellan. Again, he would be overpowered.
14:45Jackson is in dire trouble. McClellan looking to finish him off. Seconds into the fight.
14:51In my second fight, uh, I was more thinking of revenge. I was more, uh, thinking of being much more
15:06aggressive and going in there for the kill. And, uh, I believe if I had, um, maybe settled down and
15:12really, you know, going there and box, uh, I think it would have been different.
15:16After a second and decisive loss to McClellan, most boxing observers thought Jackson would retire
15:22from the sport. I have a lot of, um, goals that I want to set out of the ring also. And, um, there's
15:29a lot in the future for me other than just, um, boxing. So I started focusing a lot on that.
15:36But then still deep down inside, you know, uh, I think that, that, that tiger or whatever is in
15:44there was, was sort of, uh, growling. Now, after taking time off and preparing the gym,
15:50Jackson is back and ready to challenge for the title he lost two years ago.
15:54This fight is important to me. Um, I think this, um, opportunity is not just, uh, for the fame,
16:01um, you know, for the spotlight. I think this is an opportunity for me to get what I well deserve.
16:08Uh, I think that, um, the Hawk is back in track. I'm going to give it, um, a next goal. You know,
16:14I'm going to really find out if, if Julian Jackson, um, still has what it takes to be, you know,
16:21a champion.
16:29And tonight we will find out if the Hawk is ready to fly once more. The big question,
16:33can Julian Jackson return to form? Bertie, your assessment. Well, off of the two knockouts,
16:38everybody started to say he shot, he's finished. I don't think he shot. What I think he is,
16:42is at the end of his road, he's had a long and hard career and he's getting to that point where he's not
16:47as good as he used to be. He has a beginning to be a questionable chin. He certainly hasn't got the
16:52legs. If Cardamone can take him into the late rounds, what happens then? Of course, that's what
16:57makes this fight so interesting. We're going to see if Julian Jackson is down the road all the way,
17:02or just kind of on the road. So just to bring this point home, you're saying Jackson is not shot.
17:07I don't believe he's shot. I believe that that big punch that Gerald McClellan had, which was huge,
17:12we came to find out how big, uh, was a punch that would have knocked anybody out.
17:17So that those two fights, one round knockouts, he just got hit by a big slugger.
17:21Now, what happens when he comes with a guy who cannot punch very hard? He's only got nine
17:25knockouts and 20 some out fights. Cardamone has now got to be very careful for the first three or
17:29four rounds and then hope that his youth and superior condition can wear out and older and
17:34wearing out Julian Jackson. Cardamone highly ranked. Is he ready to be a champion?
17:38That is what we're going to find out. Cardamone is a talented fighter, stiff in the European style,
17:44not that fluid and it's stiff in fight, but big, big heart and, uh, and a guy that sticks
17:49around for the last rounds, a guy that believes the last rounds are his. That's what he's got to do.
17:52Can he overwhelm the initial charge of Julian Jackson, who is overpowering in the first three or four
17:57rounds? If he's not, big problems. All right, let us take a look at two-time world champion
18:02Julian the Hawk Jackson, currently the WBC's number two rated middleweight contender, the 35-year-old
18:08Jackson from St. Thomas U.S. Virgin Islands, 50-3 with 46 KOs off a third round TKO of Luis Boutran
18:15in Ecuador in December, but the loss previously in just 83 seconds in his rematch with Gerald
18:20McClellan, who's looking to avenge that fifth round TKO loss to McClellan in 93 when he was dethroned,
18:25having... Virgin Islands 50-3 with 46 KOs off a third round TKO of Luis Boutran in Ecuador in December,
18:32but the loss previously in just 83 seconds in his rematch with Gerald McClellan, who's looking to avenge that
18:38fifth round TKO loss to McClellan in 93 when he was dethroned, having held the belt for about three
18:43years. That snapped a string of four successful title defenses, 17 consecutive victories, 16 by
18:49knockout in his prime. Pound for pound, one of the most powerful and explosive punchers in the world
18:54tonight. He hopes to regain that form against the number one contender.
19:06Here he comes!
19:07Let's go! Let's go! Let's go!
19:17Long time! Long time! Long time!
19:23He's my brother, he's my friend, and he told Skylar, a man of action and not much talk.
19:28My son, let me tell you about this Jackson man. He's got so much power,
19:32in both of his hands, that's the hawk.
19:34Julia Jackson, the hawk. Julia Jackson, the hawk. Julia Jackson, the hawk. Julia Jackson, the hawk.
19:43It'll never last his heart, he always hits number one. That's the hawk.
19:49The hawk. The hawk. The hawk. The hawk. The hawk.
19:53He's a better beginning man, who'll always be number one. That's the hawk.
19:59The hawk. The hawk. The hawk. The hawk. The hawk. The hawk. The hawk. The hawk.
20:09The hawk. The hawk. The hawk. The hawk. The hawk. The hawk. The hawk. The hawk.
20:13Julian Jackson, a man who used to live life of the fast lane, now a born-again Christian,
20:17his brother a pastor, convinced him to change, says he made the transformation to Christianity
20:22at the St. Thomas Airport en route to Las Vegas in 87 when he won the vacant WBA junior middleweight.
20:27The crown learned to fight as a member of a street gang, but really turned things around
20:32through boxing. A model family man, Jackson visits prisons and detention centers now to help counsel
20:37troubled people. Happy St. Jackson State! Happy St. Jackson State!
20:40And let's get a look at number one-rated middleweight contender, Agostino Cartamone,
20:45who makes the long journey from Montoro in Ferreri, Italy. The 29-year-old Cartamone,
20:50a southpaw, making his American debut in the ring. He has done all of his pro fighting in Italy,
20:55France and Spain, winning the Italian middleweight championship in 92, adding the European title
21:00in 93 and defending it four times. The latest, a decision over Sean Cummins this past November.
21:06Cartamone relinquished the European title in December to pursue the world crown. He's undefeated,
21:1123 and all, but only nine knockouts.
21:25Okay, now I would love you!
21:29Yeah!
21:30Castaway –
21:32Okay, now we get to work!
21:37Wow, wow!
21:39I was in deraraque.
21:45No, but it's time.
21:48options.
21:50You know, Agostino Cardamone getting his first shot at a world championship here,
22:19the former italian and european middleweight champ rated in the top 10 by all three major
22:23boxing organizations as mentioned number one by the wbc also number four by the wba number seven
22:29by the ibf tonight though a chance to become a world champion time now to check the numbers let's
22:36go to the tail of the tape the biggest disparity is in age jackson at 34 five years older than
22:42cardamone the height nearly even both beating the weight standard at 160 and the reach almost the
22:48same and of the wbc rules for this championship about 10 point much system three scoring judges
22:53no standing eight count no three knockdown rule only the referee can stop the fight the fighter
22:58cannot be saved by the bell except in the last round so here at the odd in worcester mass closing

26:28marty dinkin
26:30remember when i told you in the dressing room this is where the punches will be low below here
26:35julian you know there's a language barrier he understands italian and he understands spanish
26:41and so when i will talk to him i don't want you to think i'm instructing him
26:44okay bono facuno good luck
26:46final instructions from veteran referee marty dinkin southpaw agustino cartamoni from italy
27:01big contingent of italian fans on hand and there is the hawk julian jackson up until recently regarded
27:07by many as the most powerful puncher pound for pound in the world lively upbeat energized crowd
27:14here in rainy worcester massachusetts little delay as they finally apply the mouthpiece to
27:20cardamoni and now we're set for round one scheduled for 12 for the wbc middleweight championship which
27:27is vacant right off the bat you can see julian jackson's bigger than he is uh and eager to start
27:35taking the fight to the body of cardamoni he knows he cardamoni wants to last these these beginning
27:41rounds out by boxing and then start his work against jackson tonight cardamoni told us he
27:46hopes to go three or four rounds see what kind of condition jackson is in both physically and
27:51psychologically and take it from there but he is ready for 12 rounds we're told that cardamoni has an
27:59excellent chin lots of heart when we asked him yesterday he changed back and forth he says that
28:06i want all my fights left-handed why should i change he's got a good point there i don't believe guys
28:10should change back and forth if i keep saying but this guy's a legitimate southpaw and he likes it
28:15and he is undefeated at 23 and 0 rated number one by the world boxing council he doesn't have what you
28:21would call a sophisticated style the major boxing skills overall but he is in great shape a survivor a
28:28fighter he has a good head and always in the fight putting it left by cardamoni well the thing is he
28:34doesn't have a big knockout punch julian jackson who did get knocked out twice but by a guy that can
28:40knock this building with a punch here on the phone to be tested he's going to be tested tonight let's see
28:46what happens when he gets hit right on the beam in his body uh jackson with explosive knockout power
28:52particularly in his left hook also an excellent right hand but you point out cardamoni not with the
28:57knockout power will leave nine ko's in his 23 wins so power not his forte but if he does exhibit
29:03any power it's usually through the left hand here's a good left by jackson that got through
29:10julian being very patient here i mean usually he swarms because he's got this big punch but he's
29:16being patient would be a sign of old age when you just don't come on like you used to the guy's got
29:22all the electricity here is cardamoni he's fighting you know
29:27coming up and he's got jackson momentarily dead he's cardamoni with the floor
29:33not letting up that's a surprise that's a big surprise
29:41jackson in trouble here at the end of round one 30 seconds left i don't know how much trouble he's in
29:47he's trying to test his kid to see what he's got and try to sneak in a punch well he's cut under the
29:53left eye is julian jackson swollen and cut under the eye cardamoni is really swarming
30:02what an end of the first round by cardamoni there's a heavy left hand that was blocked by jackson
30:08jackson misses with a left hook as we head for the bell tremendous round for agostino cardamoni
30:15he's got hit with a good foot you're okay you're all right let's hold your composure julian and get
30:34yourself back together okay all right you gotta skip in a little bit more julian you're sitting back
30:40remember we said in camp i gotta close that gap all right all right you gotta double your jab up
30:46let's take a couple of looks at this surprising turn of events as you can see jackson seems to be
30:51having that hook got him in trouble jackson seems to have a little trouble with this guy's left-handed
30:56style cardamoni although he's awkward keeps swarming in hoping for that miracle knockout he's got to be
31:02very careful because julian will set a trap for you he's got a big big punch remember now he he really
31:08got caught that little left uppercut had gotten julian in trouble buckle maybe julian does have a suspect
31:16jen we've we've certainly showed it with mcclellan but not with anybody else round two aaron stole the
31:23chief trainer in jackson's corner saying hey you got hit with a good punch and that's exactly what happened
31:29well the boxing uh expert from rome told me one thing about this card he's got a huge heart cardamoni
31:37and so he showed it he's ready to battle with julian jackson he's not backing off best way in the
31:43fashion fight jackson is by working on the inside taking his power away cardamoni doing a nice job with
31:49the jab looking to set up the left and there it is it was a glancing blow off the chin this fight is just
31:56starting but julian's showing kind of a perplexity about handling a left-hander and when he shouldn't
32:01with him for the career he's had he ought to know how to handle left handers he's getting hit by that
32:06left straight straight right there he just did it and there's a right that landed by cardamoni his right
32:12jab is popping it's disconcerting julian jackson julian's kind of laying back too much kind of waiting too much
32:19sign of an old fighter when you just can't snap off those punches like you used to
32:23jackson got cut under the left eye uh in the past almost every punch thrown by jackson with evil
32:30intent to kill his opponent we have yet to see that here cardamoni has been able to ward him off
32:35but there's a combination by cardamoni
32:39jackson again looking like a guy that's got his trigger on the hand on the trigger but it's not coming
32:43off i mean he's done he hasn't got that old julian jackson swarming style right now jackson being
32:49cautioned for the moment by marty dinkins for hitting behind there
33:01he gets up at seven wobbly and it's all over it is all over julian jackson who looked to be in
33:09seven in the first round wins it in the second well the hawk is back there's no two ways about it
33:15just what you're saying he can't pull the trigger he finally pulled the trigger and only took one punch
33:20now that's got to be some kind of punch because this kid's never been knocked out and has taken
33:24everything anybody gave him so it's once again a european fighter that only fought in europe
33:28coming in with the best in america and here it is you know julian jackson fought the best and he's been a
33:34great champion so that one punch steve that one punch finished tomorrow it was thrown with evil
33:40intent it was the first loss for agostino cardamoni in his 24th professional fight julian jackson exalts
33:49rejoices and a different story over in the cardamoni corner and let's let's add one of the things that's
33:56happening is the referees are getting much more intelligent about things marty denkin always a great
34:00referee stopped the fight he could have just stepped back and let him continue because he got
34:04up but he didn't he held on to him to let him go on would have been to chance injury so that's another
34:10plus that we see with referees stepping in stopping a fight when it should have been stopped and a big
34:15applause for marty dakin who's who's been around for many many years and is now using all of his talents
34:21to stop the fight in time julian jackson whose talents have been questioned of late certainly feeling
34:28that he is back in stride but again ferdy very difficult to measure against a fighter that we
34:34really haven't seen that fought overseas his entire career and we really don't know the true quality
34:40of jackson's opponent tonight well he he certainly he certainly fought well the first round no question
34:47about that and he was doing very well the second but julian hadn't pulled the trigger we're going to see
34:51and replace what actually did the job and of course that's vintage julian jackson vintage jackson keep
34:59your eye on the hook julian looks like he wants to push he wants to push he wants to push there's a
35:05left hook that misses and that's a right hook that lands right on the jaw and julian says that's it you're
35:10not getting up now that's a perfect right he set it up by a miss he missed an uppercut waiting waiting
35:17way now watch he misses the left hook over the top and then misses one then comes back over perfect you
35:23can't do it better than that that's vintage julian jackson that's what made him a great champion and
35:27the hawk is back all we can say is the hawk is back he's now wbc champion middleweight champion big
35:33fights to come for him and here it is ferdy from the overhead is number two beats number one and there
35:38it is the thunderous right hand sending cartamoni flat on his back well you can hardly see anything more
35:45clearly all right the most spectacular effect of one punch than those three replays jillian jackson has
35:51recaptured his wbc middleweight championship at the age of 34 they hug they embrace
36:00barnaboni speaks no english and let's go over to jimmy lennon jr ladies and gentlemen we have the time of
36:08one minute 50 seconds in round number two the referee in charge marty denkin stops the contest

38:29and just try to get yourself cleared did did you when you came out for the second round
38:34you seem to be just loading up you seem to be waiting for that one punch to come
38:38i mean did you indeed wait thinking wait one punch will do it with this guy i knew if i hit him he was
38:44going to be here i caught him um several body shots that that really took a lot out of him look julian
38:49julian look at the monitor we are now have round one coming up right now we got two ugly guys here now we
38:54got round one coming now watch how you get hit here there there you did and and you go back kind
39:00of on your on your hunch yeah i was looking at him all the time i keep my head down to make sure i don't
39:05get a next solid shot like that and he was throwing a lot of punches i was looking at him i threw a few
39:10punches but i decided to come out of the corner you know and i came out and i just started to move and
39:15make sure i don't get hit from uh you know any uh unnecessary punches again well a lot of those things
39:20here's round two again and this is where you come out and you're loading up and you're looking say
39:25for your innings and here comes denkins whatever he said definitely there was a body shot you saw him
39:29lynch to the side there was the next one i was going to the body i know if i caught him a body shot it
39:34was going to slow him up he was moving a lot you know that was uh it it affected me a lot by his
39:38movement that there was a punch and i know he was out i know if he had if the referee had allowed him to
39:43continue he would have probably got hurt but thank god won't you agree that that the referee did an
39:47excellent job in stopping the fight the referee did a a fantastic job and uh you know i just like the
39:53world to know uh uh if they that wait upon the lord he shall renew their strength and he have renewed my
39:58strength and i just want to give god the glory again does that translate to the hawk is back the
