A warning this story contains disturbing details. Concerned Victorian parents have described their shock on discovering an alleged child sex offender may have been working with children more often than initially thought. 12-hundred children are now being tested for sexually transmitted diseases after police arrested Joshua Dale Brown on child sex abuse charges. Anxious parents have found pictures of the 26-year-old at two childcare centres on days he was not listed as being there.

01:18is the charge of recklessly contaminating food
01:21with bodily fluids.
01:22It's prompted a huge public health response
01:25but the department isn't saying how many children
01:27have already been tested.
01:29Parents have told the ABC they're worried that
01:32outdated information means they just don't know
01:35if their child needs to be tested.
01:37The other issue facing 1,200 families
01:40is how to broach the issue with children
01:43who can't fully communicate yet.

01:55Talk to children about this in an honest, simple,
01:59age-appropriate way.
