00:10Residents in Ghirlang have been waiting more than a decade for a new grocery store, M Cafe.
00:15And this weekend they're aiming to finally open.
00:18IGA here has fully stocked shelves.
00:21The cafe next door is ready to go serving honour coffee.
00:24So we spoke to some of the people behind it about what it's going to mean for the community.
00:28My name is Gary Gill and I'm the director of Gill Holdings.
00:32I'm one of the companies bringing IGA Ghirlang for the local community.
00:37So as we know we've been waiting for over 15 years for a shop in this development.
00:43And the reception has been amazing.
00:46There's been people coming in each day.
00:48And I've been giving first hand tours around the shop and everybody's very excited.
00:54We've actually opened up in Bruce as well and Dixon too before that.
00:59So I mean we've sort of understood the game and staffing really helps.
01:04Having good staff and being on time.
01:06I suppose I mean we have a cafe right next door so stand alone wouldn't be the right word for it.
01:12But yeah whatever we can cater for the community.
01:15And I mean the idea for Bruce was just filling in a hole for the community and there was no shop there.
01:22And it brought a lot of nodes, a lot of people to come in.
01:26And we're hoping for the same thing here and let's see how it works out.
01:30Hi everyone this is Abu I'm the operations director for this particular project Ghirlang Cafe.
01:35And we're super excited and thrilled to be part of this amazing project for this Ghirlang community over here.
01:41And yeah I think so I believe every Australians over here it all starts with a sip of a coffee.
01:47So yeah we're super excited to you know serve the local community over here.
01:51Absolutely there's been a roller coaster ride but obviously everything is coming together in place.
01:55It was not an easy project but I think so the job becomes a little bit more easy because when we eventually partnered with Onam.
02:02Johnny is one of the brand ambassador for the Onam.
02:05So we were able to put together the mindset, the skill sets and eventually the hard set obviously to bring this brand out here.
02:15So it's been a great journey I would say and I think so as you can see you know everything is coming in place.
02:21And we have a great team as well who's been you know ready to serve the community out there.
02:27Great I think so I believe the name itself speaks aloud about the brand itself.
02:32Because the way how it's been you know sourced the beans and how it's been manufactured locally over here.
02:40We are super proud to be part partnered with Onam because of beans it comes from Brazil, from different parts of the world, South Africa and Africa as well.
02:49So that's the reason we have chosen Onam as well.
02:52And at the same time along with the coffee we've been also able to serve people with the kebabs where people like to have some lunch and the dinners as well at the same time.
03:01So there's a wide range and then also at the same time we have a mixture of desserts which is acai I think.
03:07So a lot of people like healthy brand so it's a very flavor with some sea foam frozen yogurt as well at the same time.
03:15And I believe people would enjoy especially the kids over here just around us.
03:20I think so they love it.
03:21So yeah I think so it will complement every age, every background, every group of the crowd over here.
03:27So yeah we're super excited.
03:29I think so the community is very very excited and thrilled because they've been craving for a good coffee.
03:35As a matter of a great coffee I would say because for the people over here they have been only inclined towards 7-Eleven and for a great coffee they always have to go to the balcony side.
03:46And coming just to their door next door at the doorstep I think so for them is we can see already for last two months every single day we have at least 20 people just knocking the door and asking for hey when can you have the coffee.
04:02And I think so time has come we are getting there and hopefully this weekend would be a blast for everyone.
04:09Absolutely.
04:10Why not because I think it's been two decades overall if I look for the Giralan community where people have been starving for having that great ambience, great product, great coffee or the great you know service as well.
