The Annual Royal Darwin Show is officially underway, bringing colour, culture, and country charm to the city. Organisers say this year's festivities are bigger, brighter, and more community-focused than ever before.

00:00Thousands turning up to celebrate a top end dry season tradition with smiles and cheer all around.
00:11I've been on a few rides, jumping castle and some slides and whatever else.
00:17Comparing some of the chicken species.
00:20Spent about two hours in Sato Alley, but now we're just trying to get around and see all the animals.
00:26A chance to educate youngsters with hands-on experience.
00:32It's the kids who have no contact with animals and it's the first time they've touched a goat.
00:36You know, if I've got something milking, we'll have a turn at milking a goat or bottle feeding a baby goat.
00:42The kids love it.
00:43And then, there's the food.
00:47It's not just the rides and the fairy frost that's growing crowds.
00:51The Rio Darwin Show is where the Tiltree's rural roots take centre stage.
00:56For local farmers, growers and graziers, it's a chance to show off the best of what the bush has to offer.
01:03This is our 74th show.
01:05We're a traditional agricultural show.
01:08So we've got traditional exhibits, history, entertainment, but some new things as well.
01:15Small businesses happy with the opportunity to connect with customers.
01:20For us to get out here and I guess meet more people and showcase our product, it's awesome for that.
01:24We are selling children toys and we see so many kids, families hanging around, having some good time together.
01:32But it's not all fun and games.
01:34We've got a big map up there which shows the hot and the cool spots across Darwin.
01:39But we're also getting people's ideas around the areas that they like in Darwin.
01:42But potentially how they'd like to see it cool down with its more shade trees.
01:46A test of the Tiltree lifestyle with the show ending tomorrow night.
