ANU protest against School of Music cuts

00:00We've had major cuts to the School of Art and the School of Music.
00:15We're taking all of these individual programs, we're disestablishing them as actual schools
00:20and we're merging them into what they're going to call the School of Creative and Cultural Practice
00:24which means less opportunities for specialised fields, it means less resources
00:27and it means less teachers for us to learn about.
00:31I'm a working musician. I'm out at gigs most nights of the week.
00:35Pretty much anywhere I walk into is School of Music students, ex-School of Music students.
00:39They're an extremely valuable part of the community.
00:43What kind of capital city has a university that doesn't have a music school?
