The Art and Music Library is the central hub of our school.
00:06
It's where you see people all the time from other workshops, where you come together and
00:11
you research and you learn.
00:13
And it's really important that we have those resources right there.
00:23
People are really upset and hurt, students and staff alike.
00:27
We were not consulted on this decision at all.
00:30
The email said that there was student consultation, but none of it has been art school specific.
00:35
And in my opinion, they are basing that off very generalized surveys that they've received,
00:41
like uni-wide student experience surveys.
00:44
And also, yeah, just the outpouring of love for this space and kind of the way that it
00:48
feels to be in.
00:49
Like, we've had a lot of people, not even art school or music school students, put comments
00:54
in the open letter saying, like, I feel really safe in this space, this is my favourite library.
00:58
Like, this means a lot to me as a place that I can come and study and feel really comfortable
01:02
in.
01:03
And that's been from across the uni.
