We meet the owner of Dasher Floral Creations in Wem,  who has created a community around the world of flowers, with the shop, clubs, competitions and flower festivals all part of the mix.

00:00Please tell me a bit about your shop here, where and when?

00:03Yeah, so my shop's been here, we've been here two and a half years now, nearly three years

00:08and I've always wanted to have a shop obviously, it's been a big ambition of mine

00:14and it's great on the high street, everybody's really friendly

00:18and we all support each other which is a big thing, Wem's a lovely place to live

00:23so yeah, I have lots of lovely customers and it's doing really, really well

00:28so I'm really, really pleased

00:29And what do you enjoy about working with flowers?

00:33We just make people smile, don't they? They just make people happy

00:38even on the saddest of days, if you give someone a bunch of flowers

00:42it makes them smile, it just makes them feel important

00:45and they say a lot, I think you can say a lot with a bunch of flowers

00:50And you do flowers for weddings?

00:53Weddings, funerals, every day, Valentine's, Mother's Day is hectic

00:58Mother's Day, that was the biggest shock I had having the shop

01:02because Mother's Day was full on for a good week and a half

01:06It was just manic, which is lovely

01:09Lots of lovely people out there buying for their mums

01:12Yeah, it's full on, it really is

01:14It's lovely, I've been accepted here in Wem which is wonderful

01:19and yeah, it's a nice place to be
