00:00So we're here at Salon 10 in Newport and we're here with Stephen. Hello sir.
00:04Good morning, how are you today?
00:06I'm good, thank you boss, I'm good.
00:07And Stephen, you've got some lovely long flowing locks there, but not for too much longer.
00:14Not for too much longer, no.
00:15So first off, when did you last have your hair cut, like any significant length?
00:21Eight years ago.
00:22Yeah?
00:22Yeah.
00:23Yeah, yeah.
00:24And did you used to have long hair back in the day, like?
00:26No, no, no, I've done this for the simple reason that it's going to the Little Princess Trust.
00:32Ah, so you've grown it kind of off the back foot for that purpose.
00:37So what inspired, so the Little Princess Trust, that's where they basically use real hair to make wigs, don't they, for people?
00:44For the wee tops, yeah.
00:46A friend of mine's daughter went to a private school in Newport and one of the girls had got leukaemia.
00:52Yeah.
00:53And they decided that once you lost her hair with the chemotherapy, they tried to get a scratchy wig and it was too scratchy on their head.
01:04Yeah, yeah.
01:05So the girls at the school said, why don't we donate hair to the Princess Trust?
01:09Yeah.
01:10And then they could donate it to a wig made of proper human hair.
01:15Yeah, yeah.
01:15And I thought, well if she could do it and she's only eight, I could do it and I was 69 at the time.
01:20No way.
01:21So, you know, the day has come.
01:24How are you feeling about having it locked off?
01:26A bit apprehensive but it's got a bloody good call.
01:28Well, yeah, exactly.
01:30Have you become attached to it a little bit?
01:33Attached, yes.
01:34Yeah.
01:35Because it's attached to me.
01:36Yeah, yeah, but not for much longer.
01:38I'm a bit reluctant this morning but yeah, it'll be fine.
01:41Yeah, yeah.
01:42Well, come on then chap, let's get you in.
01:44Come on, let's get the shears on you.
01:45You think you ladies, you have your picture in the paper on Friday.
01:52Oh, yeah.
01:57It probably end up like that much and then you're half a picture.
02:02Because something else will come along in the meantime.

02:51Yeah.
02:51Cool.
02:52So, you're going to feel a lot cooler tonight in bed, aren't you?
