00:00Hello and welcome to another sunny, brilliant day here in the city of Manchester.
00:04My name's Theo Hewson-Betz and today I'm out on the streets of Manchester asking people about live music.
00:10Now this is related to Glastonbury, which obviously went on over last weekend and was a massive success.
00:16We saw great performances from people such as Lewis Capaldi, Olivia Rodrigo, Pulp and so much more.
00:22It is festival season now and is sort of the perfect time to go out and see some of your favourite musicians live in the flesh.
00:30But we want to know, we want to hear from people what the best gig they've ever been to here in Manchester is and why.
00:36I'd probably say The Blossoms, a couple of years ago when they brought out Rick Astley to do like a whole Smith set.
00:43That was definitely the best gig I've been in Manchester.
00:46Well actually we're here to see Olivia Rodrigo.
00:48Tonight.
00:50So yeah we were supposed to come last year but we did end up coming to Manchester anyway.
00:54But yeah the gig got cancelled so.
00:56On the day that we were travelling up so we had a great weekend.
00:59But yeah tonight is the official first Manchester gig that we're going to.
01:03That's great.
01:03Well Jake Bogg, yeah we saw Jake here a few years ago.
01:06I can't even remember.
01:07It was at Victoria Warehouse.
01:08Yeah.
01:09Yeah.
01:09Yeah.
01:10I think because of she's done Glaston, obviously, as well as Hyde Park this past week, she's been everywhere.
01:16And I think there might be a slight set change just because it is a year later so don't really know.
01:22You know that's the thing is like you can see all the videos online but we don't know what we're going to get which is kind of exciting.
01:27You don't get that these days.
01:28No.
01:28Normally it's so planned out but yeah no one knows.
01:31Yeah like you see like the TikTok videos of like clips from the set you know what's going to be sung like you know kind of how it's going to be staged but we don't know what she's going to do.
01:40She's not got a support act so we're kind of hoping that she might bring someone out.
01:44Which one?
01:45I prefer the smaller ones.
01:46I'm not a huge fan of court life.
01:48No.
01:49Probably like the Tory Warehouse, Apollo, those kind of places are my fave.
01:54Yeah.
01:55Yeah I think some of my little ones are a bit cooler than the other ones.
01:57Yeah.
01:58They're the massive ones.
01:59Taylor Swift.
02:00Taylor Swift is up there.
02:01Obviously.
02:02She's definitely up there.
02:03We saw her in Poland.
02:04Yes.
02:05Other than in the UK but yeah she was brilliant on the Eros tour so amazing.
02:10Florence and the Machine.
02:13I feel like she needs to do a tour.
02:15She's not been on a tour in a while.
02:18Mine?
02:19A really good one for me.
02:20It's kind of rogue.
02:21It's a hardcore band in the scene.
02:24I'm from Bristol so the scene down in Bristol called Perp Walk and I'm not into the music but my friend was in the band.
02:31Oh my god.
02:32And so yeah went to go see it and that was it was like proper like in a basement.
02:37There was just like crap packed people everywhere and even though I didn't really enjoy like I don't listen to it was like proper hardcore funk.
02:47But it was like it just the vibes and the atmosphere was so good.
02:51It was brilliant.
02:52Yeah.
02:53Um oh I don't know.
02:55I'd probably go with like someone like the Kooks maybe.
