We went out into Manchester to ask people on the street about festivals. We want to know who the best person they’ve seen is, how vital the weather is to making it fun and which artist could perform that would mean they HAD to book tickets to see them.

00:00My name's Theo Houston Betts and it's a good job, it's a lovely day today because we're manifesting that we're going to have lovely weather over the next couple of months for the festival goers.
00:09Now festivals are one of the most exciting times of the year really, their three days of fun with friends and seeing some of the best music acts in the world often.
00:18But they can be ruined by bad weather and a lot of people are put off due to the noise and often chaos that can come along with them.
00:24We want to know if people have festivals booked this year, which people do they've booked them specifically to see and if they're not really into festivals is there one artist that would make them change their mind that they'd be willing to travel, commit to a festival for just to see them perform once.
00:39Let's go see what people have to say.
00:41I've not really done them but this year I'm going to my first one on 3rd of July to see Stevie Wonder because he's playing Lytham St Andrews and I'm taking two of my daughters.
00:52Chris Dussipop.
00:53Chris Dussipop, yeah.
00:55I think we're going to go for the one day.
00:57I was sort of tempted but I'm not very tempted by that I have to say.
01:02Yeah, no, definitely.
01:03We were kind of going to festivals.
01:05He was just that one in Dublin called Omni.
01:09So yeah, I've always been to festivals.
01:12I've not really been to festivals because when I was younger for whatever reason I kind of just avoided going to them.
01:18I should have gone because it was the beginning of Glastonbury and it was really hippie then.
01:23So I didn't go because I didn't fancy the hippie stuff but that was when you could actually just rock up and climb over the fence and go in.
01:30We don't know the weather at the festival until the day comes so the festival I went to last week was very good.
01:36It was really sunny so it helped a lot.
01:37It made the day I think way better.
01:39Like if it was raining, it would have brought a dampener.
01:41Not where people go, it's raining as well, it's not like well.
01:43But like they're in the summer for a reason, so yeah.
01:46Especially like if you look at all the festivals predominantly like say Hoi Dao and stuff, people go out because it's such good weather.
01:52So yeah.
01:52I grew up with camping holidays.
01:54I've done a lot of camping over the years and I've come to the point where I don't want to really do camping anymore.
02:01My holidays generally now don't involve camping out of choice.
02:04So that's the main reason.
02:06Not that I wouldn't do it, it's just that I just said to avoid it now.
02:10The whole day really, like we were at EP last year.
02:13It wouldn't be like a festival as much but Calvin Harris was playing and he was really good.
02:17So it's kind of amazing.
02:19The biggest festival in Ireland is called Electric Big Mac.
02:21We Calvin Harris headlined it last year so his name on the line up probably didn't convince us to go more than anything else.
02:28Yeah actually, I didn't because of various things including cost.
02:34Because taking three people to a festival is reasonably expensive.
02:38But Alanis Morissette is playing the day after.
02:41I totally would have gone to see her because I've never seen her in concert.
02:46And I think that's a bitter little pill I think, isn't it?
02:50That album is just fantastic.
02:53So I would have liked to have seen her.
02:54Yeah, there's probably quite a lot of artists that I would, that would.
