One of my very favorite toothbrushes is an electric toothbrush by Aquafresh apparently being called Extreme Clean Interdental Power. Unfortunately this toothbrush can only be used about 3 months before you have to throw it away. During this video was also the first time I learned that it's actually marketed as a disposable toothbrush, even though it might seem like it could be something permanent. The brushes cannot be replaced and replacing the battery might damage the unit's insides so that it won't work properly. Bummer. Still, during those two to three months that it's new, it does work fantastically and wonderfully.

00:00today ladies and gents we'll be talking about one of my favorite toothbrushes
00:05it's an electric toothbrush by aqua fresh I'm not sure what to call it if
00:10it's extreme clean interdental or power but yeah of course it says aqua fresh
00:15there's a toothbrush it has a switch there extreme clean interdental power
00:22so 20,000 cleaning vibrations per minute and this one is medium
00:29I suppose that's the softness of the bristles on the back extreme clean
00:34power interdental with the cleaning power of 20,000 vibrations per minute
00:38interdental vibration bristles reach deep into the narrow spaces between teeth
00:4420,000 vibrations per minute support your brushing motion for thorough cleaning
00:49tongue cleaner removes five times more germs than regular tooth brushing oh
00:54that's with the back of the brush flex zone and ball joint help control pressure
00:58when brushing removes plaque whilst being gentle on gums disposal well most
01:05people will just throw it into the dustbin contains a triple a battery that is
01:10removable but not replaceable seriously the battery will last minimum three
01:16months with normal usage to protect the environment okay then remove the battery
01:23recycle the battery yeah not many people will do that product of China and so on
01:29and so forth so that's very interesting because I thought you could replace the
01:34battery but maybe that's what I have against it I'll tell you about it in a bit I
01:38actually thought this new one I bought is the same as the one I got but now I
01:43see the brush sizes differ you see this blue one that's a brush size I'm used to but
01:50yeah that's obviously not what is in this new package it's a much smaller one and
01:56yeah as you can see no the brushes are not replaceable in other words this is a
02:01rather expensive throwaway product I did not know that but anyway yeah let's get
02:07into the workings of it it's very nice to brush with there's this brush there's your
02:13tongue cleaner yeah they come in pink and blue and nice green and an orange I
02:19actually like the orange and the green more but yeah I thought I would buy this
02:24purple pink one just for a change yeah there's where you put in the battery see
02:31you can open that with a coin or something and the back will come off and
02:36yeah then they hope you will throw away the battery or dispose of it in a in
02:43environmentally friendly way not sure many people will do that but yeah that's what I
02:48was going to say about them what unfortunately is not so nice about them
02:52well they brush very very very nice let me just turn it on you turn it on there
02:58I don't know if you can hear it it's making a soft buzzing noise I'll try and
03:05hold it close to the camera and the microphone so you can hear the buzzing that
03:11buzzing is vibrations this thing is vibrating and yes really nice to brush with
03:17you can just now almost just softly massage your teeth on the front and on
03:23the top and behind everywhere and your teeth feel really clean afterwards now the
03:30problem is something I've just learned from this packaging is that it is
03:34supposed to be viewed as a disposable product you use it until the battery is
03:39flat and you throw it away so obviously they don't have replaceable heads like the
03:43electric toothbrushes you might know which is sad oh I see this blue one you see
03:48doesn't actually have the tongue cleaner so I thought I was buying the same thing
03:52but actually I bought something completely different this one does have a
03:55tongue cleaner nice rubber to scrub your tongue with but anyway yeah let's get back
04:01to the problem now if you want to replace the battery unfortunately it's not
04:05robust enough you can replace the battery you see there you're supposed to turn it
04:10with the coin I did show you that turn it a bit yeah and it twists off and there's your
04:21battery inside but unfortunately for some reason let me just take it out oh it takes
04:29one of these triple A batteries this one at least so you put it in how was it in
04:34now was it this way order or that way I think this metal here that runs through
04:41and that's not robust enough so if you try to replace the battery like I did let's
04:47just fold that little metal thingy back now it should work and how was this now
04:54oh supposed to look this way when it's like that yeah so you see you can
05:04replace the battery but you must be so careful that you don't move that metal
05:09thing or something I don't know why because now look doesn't work there now it
05:19works it's like if you replace the battery as soon as you've replaced it then
05:23you've twisted this I don't know it's like that metal thingy moved slightly or
05:28something and now it will not work like it used to see if I hold this in I can
05:35feel it starts vibrating and then stops immediately it's like but alright let me
05:41hold this in see there now it now it works again I don't know if you can hear the
05:50vibrations but yeah it's like I don't know something something got damaged in the
05:57process of replacing the battery but I'm sure if you're very careful you will
06:01successfully replace the battery and that's gonna be my only criticism of
06:07this product is that once the battery wears out you're supposed to throw it
06:12away and I mean this thing cost like well I've seen them being sold for
06:16anything from 60 Rand to 100 Rand to probably more now probably like 120 I'm
06:22sure if they will be 150 pretty soon with prices climbing the way they are but I
06:27mean yes you cannot replace the head once it's worn out the brushes and you
06:33cannot well they say you're not supposed to replace the battery I did but now
06:38yeah if I bend it like this then it actually starts vibrating again
06:43but yeah something definitely got changed up in there when I replaced the battery so I
06:54don't know you can try and replace the battery now if I twist it like this it
06:59also starts vibrating again but yeah obviously now the whole thing is buggered
07:04up sometimes I get a vibration out of it and sometimes not yeah I don't know
07:14maybe if you can fix it if you open it up and make sure everything is in the
07:19proper place maybe the problem is this but yeah anyway yeah that is this product
07:25then while it's working it works fine and it's really nice to brush your teeth
07:30with it but yeah when the battery or the brush is worn out I'm afraid now you have
07:37to spend all that money again on a new one that's at least that's what they
07:40expect of you at least according to the packaging so yeah I'm not sure why they
07:46didn't just make it so their head can come off usually electric toothbrushes are
07:49like that you can replace the head and obviously you can replace the battery or
07:54recharge the whole thing but for some reason aqua fresh with this decided no
07:59they're gonna make a disposable thing but that does not mean that you aren't
08:04gonna have fun brushing with this ah yeah ah yeah even without toothpaste that
08:15really hits the spot hmm it's a nice head massage hmm very relaxing all right now hit
08:25the like button and the subscribe button if you're not subscribed and we'll talk
08:29about more things and stuff in the next video oh yeah I was still gonna use that
08:36purple one wasn't I okay later
