During a press conference on Thursday, White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt answered questions about the U.S.-brokered ceasefire between Israel and Iran.

00:00Thank you. So the president had some harsh words for both Israel and Iran on Tuesday as he was
00:05departing from the NATO summit after they both violated the ceasefire. He said, what's your
00:10response to Americans who are worried the peace isn't going to last and think that Israel is
00:15trying to plunge us into another endless war on their behalf? I think the fact that the president
00:20was able to successfully negotiate a ceasefire when nobody thought that was possible. It was a
00:25surprise to everyone in this room. It was a surprise to the world. But the president got it done
00:29because he wants to see peace in this world. He does not want the United States to be dragged into
00:34these conflicts. Again, he's not afraid to use strength if he has to. But the president has
00:38already proven he can put America first and deliver on peace at the same time. They're not mutually
00:43exclusive goals.
