Karoline Leavitt speaks to reporters outside the White House.

00:00Caroline, when the president is floating the idea of regime change,
00:05how does he believe that should be accomplished through the Iranians, the Israelis, or the Americans?
00:11The president's posture and our military posture has not changed.
00:14The president was just simply raising a question that I think many people around the world are asking.
00:19If the Iranian regime refuses to give up their nuclear program or engage in talks,
00:25we just took out their nuclear program on Saturday night, as you all know,
00:28but if they refuse to engage in diplomacy moving forward,
00:31why shouldn't the Iranian people rise up against this brutal terrorist regime?
00:36That's a question the president raised last night, but as far as our military posture, it hasn't changed.
00:40Caroline, what is the time table the president has given Iran right now to come to the negotiating table?
00:45He has made his message to Iran quite clear.
00:49I would strengthen your moves as well.
00:50On regime change, that question of if the president was supporting that idea of having Iraq's supreme leader assassinated,
00:59he's now floating this idea of regime change.
01:01Is that an idea that he would put there?
01:02I'm not going to get ahead of the president.
01:04I just explained his truth to you last night.
01:07Caroline, has there been any communication at all between the U.S. officials and the Iranians since these strikes,
01:12and have you gotten any indication that they are open to negotiating?
01:17The Secretary of Defense said yesterday there has been both public and private messages sent to the Iranians
01:23since the very successful operation on Saturday night, and that remains the truth.
01:28Mr. Hormuz, if Iran shuts down Mr. Hormuz, is there a plan by the U.S. to add oil to the global market?
01:34We saw the Biden administration and the strategic petroleum release. Is there a plan?
01:39I can assure you the administration is actively and closely monitoring the situation in the Strait of Hormuz,
01:44and the Iranian regime would be foolish to make that decision.
01:47We'll see you later, okay?
01:49Thanks, Caroline.
