00:01The Press.
00:02Thanks, Caroline.
00:03The President last Friday said that he was hopeful of a Gaza deal within the next week.
00:07Can you give us an update on any progress towards that or on any talks that the White
00:12House is having with Israel on that?
00:14MS.
00:15Sure.
00:16Well, I know that Mr. Dermer is in Washington this week to meet with senior officials here
00:21at the White House.
00:22I also know that this administration is in constant communication with Israeli leadership
00:28and the President himself speaks frequently, as you know, to Prime Minister Netanyahu.
00:32But this has been a priority for the President since he took office, to end this brutal war
00:36in Gaza.
00:37It is because of this President that humanitarian aid is being brought into the region.
00:43It's heartbreaking to see the images that have come out from both Israel and Gaza throughout
00:48this war, and the President wants to see it end.
00:50He wants to save lives.
00:51And, however, the main priority for the President also remains to bring all of the hostages home
00:57out of Gaza.
00:58As you know, his tireless effort has brought home many of the hostages, including all of
01:04the American hostages who were held there.
01:06So he wants to see both things happen, and we're continuing to work very hard to do those
01:09things.
01:10Sure.
01:12Yeah, thanks.
