00:00Hello, I'm Jill Buchanan, the editor of the Falkirk Herald, and I'm here to tell you about some of the stories making the headlines in a print edition on sale now.
00:09It's been another busy week with lots of news, sports and picture galleries from events across the district.
00:15We lead on the news that the Council and NHS partnership will no longer provide the care packages in a Dunypace sheltered housing complex.
00:23Instead, it will be provided by a private firm.
00:25The cost-cutting move could also see staff lose their jobs, and other housing with care properties could go down the same route.
00:33A young woman has been charged almost a year after a road crash near Dunmore saw three young men killed.
00:38She's due to appear in court at a later date.
00:42Parents at Stennismere Primary are unhappy that there is a public right of way through the school grounds, and they are concerned about the safety of their children.
00:49Over 20 years after it was first opened, a new collective is working to improve Falkirk Skate Park in Bells Meadow, to once again make it a facility to be used by all ages.
01:01It was going to have Children's Day last Saturday, and we have four pages of pictures as Bowhouse Primary Pupil Fern White was crowned by Stephen Matthew, the first man ever to carry out the honour.
01:11And we have also lots of images from Race for Life, which took place on Sunday in Calendar Park, and the Prince's Royal's visit to Strathcarnon Hospice.
01:21There's also pics from a special event at Labratt High, when the school was presented with some special mementos from the Macow and Toffee family, who travelled over from Canada.
01:31And it's congratulations to two couples who have celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary this month, the Turnbulls from Stennismere and the Stuarts from Camlin.
01:39In our retro section, historian Ian Scott looks back at the Nobel factory in Reading Moorhead, sharing his personal memories of the business.
01:50In sport, Falkirk gave seal of their first trophy of the new season, when they beat Stennismere 3-1 in the Stirlingshire Cup final.
01:57There was also a unique treble for the Falkirk Foundation 210 Blues squad, and we've details of a karate grading, which took place in Grangemouth.
02:06Meanwhile, there's been lots of success for the District's bowlers, and we've all the details.
02:11All these stories and lots more can be found in our new edition, which is on sale now, and also online at www.falkirkherald.co.uk.
