00:00We told you yesterday that the A's broke ground in Vegas finally on their new stadium.
00:06Now, most people don't like Rob Manfred, the commissioner of Major League Baseball,
00:10but A's owner John Fisher is not one of those guys because Rob is the real reason why he got out of that dump in Oakland
00:17and is now able to get fast-tracked to Vegas. Here's John.
00:20You know, I don't want to get too emotional here when I talk about the commissioner of baseball,
00:24but when I sat down with the commissioner and he said,
00:30hey, we're going to make this happen, you know, he never wavered.
00:37And it's not always an easy job to be the commissioner of 30 owners,
00:43all of whom, you know, want something special on any given day.
00:48But to Commissioner Manfred, who looked at what we were building here
00:53and knew that this was the right thing for baseball
00:56and then set about making sure that all 30 owners are all 29,
01:02he knew he had my vote, that all 29 were going to support this.
01:07Yeah, thank you, Rob.
01:09I got to be honest with you.
01:11I wonder, I really do, how it'll work.
01:16You know, I got to be frank.
01:18I think, you know, you and I have experienced the nights.
01:21We've walked across the street from the MGM
01:25and walked into those bars and restaurants in that area, whatever they call it,
01:31and outside of the T-Mobile.
01:34And it really is a perfect place.
01:37And it's great for everything.
01:39Boxing, UFC, hockey, concerts, you name it.
01:43And that area is so phenomenal with all the, you know, activity there.
01:48It's buzzing.
01:49You can get your swerve on.
01:50You can eat.
01:51You can drink.
01:52You can hang out outside and drink and party, et cetera.
01:57But I have to ask you, like, that's at nighttime.
02:01I mean, they're not playing day games in the NHL in Las Vegas.
02:07I mean, if ever.
02:08They're all at night.
02:09And so at night, it's, you know, whatever, 90 degrees or 85 degrees, whatever it is.
02:15And even in the winter, I live there twice.
02:17So I know there is a winter in Las Vegas.
02:19It gets cold there in the winter.
02:21Like, it'll be 30, 40 degrees there.
02:24They don't know what hit them.
02:25But my question to you is this.
02:27Like, today, right now, it's probably $1.15 in Las Vegas.
02:32And the idea of walking up that strip to a baseball game, to me,
02:37is just something people don't want to do.
02:39Like, are they going to get tourists?
02:44Who in Las Vegas that lives in Las Vegas is going to drive down there
02:49and park their car and walk into that baseball stadium?
02:53That's a serious question I have for you because I don't think they are.
02:56I think the locals go to the hockey games at night.
02:58And I want to say they go to Raider games, even though they stink.
03:03Sunday afternoon, I guess they're not afraid of it.
03:05When we come back, I want you to answer that question if you think it's going to work.
03:10What's this way?
03:11What's this way?
03:11What's this way?
03:11What's this way?
03:11What's this way?
03:11How's burying going in the game?
