00:43no final, no final, no final, no final, no final, no final, no final, no final.
01:25Geffrey Hirlings.
01:32Quick look over the shoulder.
01:36Yeah, a little bit offline there,
01:37but better drive as well for Roma, Fevreira.
01:41He sensed that Cairoli knew who was behind him as well,
01:44thought, meh, it's not my championship this year, so...
01:46Gifting, trying to run it down the inside of Cairoli.
01:52He did the old Adamo technique, pulled the clutch in,
01:54gave it a big panic rev, spooked Cairoli to the outside.
01:58He even looked across, thought, what, who?
01:59I can't believe I fell for that old trick.
02:02That's what happens when you're out of the game a little bit.
02:04Gifting comes through, finds his way past Cairoli.
02:08He don't like that to move into 6th place.
02:10Gifting now, getting his sights set on the number 3 of Roma, Fevreira.
02:25But it's Kunin who leads away,
02:272.5 seconds clear of Glenn Koldunov.
02:29Fernandes, 3rd, 2 seconds further back.
02:31Then Hirlings, almost the same distance behind the Spaniard in 4th.
02:35Fevre, Gifting, Cairoli and Vallandran there in the yellow,
02:38number 10.
02:40Ferrato has just been passed by Bogus
02:45before the intermediate sector
02:49as he moves into 9th
02:51and Ferrato down a 10th.
03:00So the usual
03:01sort of frantic action on that opening lap.
03:06There's Siwa
03:07starting his 220th Grand Prix today
03:12at Mattelie Basin.
03:13At Mattelie Basin, Jeremy Siwa on the Aruba.it Ducati,
03:17number 91, launching downhill in 11th position.
03:21A couple of positions further back, you've got 2.53, Jan Panza,
03:26all over the back of Brent Van Donenck, those two fighting over 12th place.
03:30But the fastest man on track with the fastest opening lap, Lucas Koonum, who is still two and a half seconds clear, put in a two minute .498.
03:41Koldenoff for 2.01, Fernandez, 2.01, and then we're into the 203s with Hurlings, who's obviously just trying to get those diesel engines warmed up in the early laps here at Mattelie Basin.
03:54J.M. Honda of Brent Van Donenck there, under attack, from Panza.
04:00Well, Isaac Gifting in 6th position, I saw photos of a hand injury that he's picked up, where he's taken some skin off it, I think it was a bicycle accident, or blistering anyway, he's got no skin on one of his hands, so not the easiest conditions to be riding with this weekend.
04:21But Lisa Leyland going down to JK Race in Yamaha, and Giuliano is down now, I believe, with Lisa.
04:31We just saw Isaac Gifting make a nice move on Cairoli there for P6. So far, so good. What's his feedback been about this track?
04:38Yeah, for sure he likes the track, he's enjoying it all weekend long. The only thing, we had a small issue in training back in Italy with road bicycles, so he's missing a lot of skin,
04:50so it's kind of painful for him, but yeah, so we weren't sure before this weekend if we could take part. But yeah, so with all the circumstances, it's going good.
05:00So we will see how the race goes on, but yeah, positive for the moment.
05:05Thank you very much.
05:07Koldenov leads.
05:08Well, not going good for Lucas Kuhner, because he's just tipped over from the lead during that interview. Koldenov now leads, Kuhner in second, and Fernandes in third.
05:17And this is the gap between first and second. Koldenov and Lucas Kuhner at the end of the waves.
05:23Is it into the left-hander? Simple tip over. We've seen that so many times already this weekend.
05:28Quick to pick himself up. Gets back on the gas, but Koldenov already there to take full advantage on the Vantic.
05:34So two laps in, Koldenov leads.
05:45Kunen second, Fernandes third for Honda HRC. There's Hurlings, there's Fevra.
05:49Fevra in fifth, gifting 2.6 seconds further back in sixth position.
05:57Cairoly, seven for Lanron, eight. Bogus and Ferrato, your top ten.
06:00But of course, he has found his way past Vandermostyke as he moves into 14th place.
06:05Adam Sterry on the Chambers KTM, 16th, as he goes past Tom Cock.
06:09Cock on the MRT Racing Beta.
06:11Watson, who was in around about 18th or 19th, down to 23rd or 4th, and then up to 21st again.
06:17So not the homecoming that the Brit would have liked.
06:20Certainly not in the early laps of this race. Certainly not qualifying either on Saturday.
06:26Oh, Siwa, down on his ear. Cross ruts himself out of 11th place.
06:37Picks himself up just ahead of Adam Sterry in 15th position.
06:41So, Siwa then, looking to rebound and bounce back after that slight mistake.
07:00But now everybody's a little bit more spread out.
07:06Simple little error in the end, it looked like. Maybe just got cross rutted.
07:11Back comes one way, then the other catches an edge in the next minute.
07:14Can't really do anything about it.
07:16Kunan going back after Koldenov here.
07:18Working our way towards the end of lap three.
07:30Fernandez hanging on there in background in third.
07:33These two not really getting away.
07:35Glenn Koldenov leading the way here.
07:42Prior to this weekend, he'd already led four laps, all of those, in the round of Europe at Saint-Jean-d'Angeli.
07:49So, getting another couple of laps up front, Glenn Koldenov.
07:55And with Koldenov there leading the way.
07:57And Bogers in ninth.
08:00Bonacorsi in 13th.
08:02We are getting ready to go down to pit lane with Lisa, who's going to be speaking to Louis Vosters, the team owner there.
08:08Let's go down there now, whilst Koldenov has a one-and-a-half-second advantage.
08:16Louis, Glenn Koldenov won an overall here in his MX2 days.
08:20He's taken the lead.
08:21How's he feeling, and will he be able to withstand the pressure from Kunan?
08:25Yeah, it's still early in the race, but he's feeling really good all weekend.
08:31But also last week, he did the really proper training.
08:34Even he trained on the 250 last week, so to get the speed, the corner speed.
08:39And actually, he really liked this track.
08:42And so, let's see.
08:44Bonacorsi, Bogers, how are they feeling?
08:47Yeah, yesterday with Bona, yeah, we changed afterwards.
08:52We changed a little bit the bike, let's say, the bike setting.
08:55But today it looks quite good, but he had, let's say, a bad gate pick.
09:00And Brian did quite well yesterday, so it's going quite okay.
09:04Best of luck to the team.
09:05Thank you, Louis.
09:11Koldenov continues to lead.
09:121.3 seconds clear.
09:14Lukas Kunan.
09:19Rebel KTM rider here.
09:21Just trying to get back on terms with the Bantik Factory MXGP rider.
09:32Fernandez, Hurlings, Fevre.
09:35See what the gap is between the first five riders as they hit the line at the end of lap four.
09:43Seven seconds.
09:44But the pace now just starting to pick up ever so slightly.
09:49Koldenov with a two-minute 0.6.
09:52Kunan, 2.01, same as Fernandez.
09:55And Hurlings, Fevre in the two minutes, 0.7.
09:59Take another look at the start as Hurlings get caught here by Fevre.
10:02Over on the right-hand side, left as they line up behind the gate.
10:09But it was Kunan who swept across everybody into that first turn to come away with his 10th foxhole shot of the year.
10:16Just behind him there, Koldenov.
10:18And Fernandez.
10:20Cairoli in there as well.
10:21Watson tried to cut across the back of everybody here, look, on the MRT.
10:27And then he almost, it almost paid off.
10:29But then he got caught by his teammate.
10:31Oh, he almost ran into his rear wheel.
10:40Again, Watson up and down the leaderboard.
10:42The wrong end of the points, down to 23rd again now.
10:47Back end, just a little bit loose there for Kunan.
10:49Just used his body language to correct and soak it up.
11:0019th for Iago Kitts.
11:03John Adamson in the points.
11:06So, good to see Adamson there.
11:09Only scored on one occasion in Portugal, round 7, where he was 23rd overall.
11:14The rider who sits 44th in the championship.
11:16Oh, he's back.
11:17Oh, man, this is proper racing.
11:19We're going to wait towards the end of lap 5 then.
11:30Fernandez.
11:32Again, getting close up to Kunan.
11:34And Hurlings gaining ground on the Spaniard.
11:37So, this was Cairoli and Gifting a moment ago.
11:45Cairoli down the inside.
11:47Gifting just held firm.
11:49He's solid, isn't he, the Swedish Viking.
11:50He's solid, isn't he, the Swedish Viking.
11:53That was for sixth position.
11:55Kifting's still there.
11:56Cairoli.
11:58Still trying to find a way past the Swede.
12:00Oh, no, he's done.
12:16The knee's gone.
12:17Tony Cairoli is out of the race.
12:19He pulled up there just a moment ago through the first turn.
12:21And I was just thinking, did he just have a moment there?
12:25And then he just signals past the pit lane area, points down and goes, no, done.
12:30So, Cairoli will probably drop out of this race from that.
12:34He was seventh.
12:34Pallana has gone by him already.
12:36As Hurlings now closing in on the number 17 of Rupert Fernandez.
12:44Watch this here, Cairoli, it was already before that.
12:48Oh, no, front brake or something like that.
12:51So, front brake, he's going to go in.
12:54Got an issue there.
12:56Unfortunately, the knee that he was talking about in the pre-grid interview then is fine.
13:02So, Cairoli then will probably not finish this race.
13:04That will be down to Siwa.
13:06And Hurlings from out of nowhere all over the back.
13:10And in the same move that he found his way past Koldenov in the qualifying race.
13:13The same move to find his way past the Spanien to move into third position.
13:24This, on lap six, Fernandez now under attack from Favreau.
13:32So, with 16 minutes to go, Jeffrey Hurlings obviously warmed up.
13:36It is the chilliest day of the weekend so far.
13:39So, you wouldn't blame him.
13:40But what does it do to the lap times?
13:45Last lap 204, Koldenov 2-0-1.
13:49So, Hurlings up to third.
13:50There's Koldenov, your race leader.
13:54Koldenov 2-0-1.
13:54Koldenov 2-0-1.
13:55Koldenov 2-0-1.
13:55These two separated by about a second.
13:58Give or take a couple of tenths here or there.
14:02Koldenov must be thinking.
14:02So, Glenn Koldenov, who's about 108 years old now, the youngest looking 108 year old, what can I do to whittle him down?
14:14The guy's fit.
14:15And he is.
14:16He works hard.
14:17Looks after himself.
14:20Good to see him out there.
14:21Up front, leading the way.
14:22Hurlings breaking free from Fernandes, leaving him to deal with the Fevra.
14:36Oh, and Kierke's down.
14:39So, Iago Kierke's season going from bad to worse.
14:46Had a nightmare in the qualifying race yesterday.
14:49Out after two or three laps.
14:52Just sitting on the side of the track.
15:00I'm not sure exactly where that is, but definitely had a bit of an impactful landing because the Alpine star.
15:09Yeah, it's through here.
15:14Yeah, on there, look.
15:15So, he's probably had a high side of some sort, but the air body armor protection, that's deployed.
15:22It's doing its job, but Iago Kierke's sitting trackside and out of the race.
15:28Seven laps complete.
15:49Fernandes, Koldenov continues to lead by 1.7 seconds over Lukas Kunin, who is now only 1.3 seconds clear of Jeffrey Hurlings.
15:59Fernandes, Fernandes and Koldenov, sorry, Fernandes and Fevra are going to be fighting over this fourth place.
16:06In terms of the championship, this is an advantage for Kunin right now.
16:10So, unless Roman Fevra kind of pulls his finger out here and gets after the Spaniard, quick sharpish, and hopes, Glim, that Jeffrey Hurlings will find his way past Kunin.
16:32That's more the situation at the moment.
16:36Let Hurlings go after Kunin, take a position and away, and also gift himself two points.
16:42Because Kunin in 22nd in a 22-point scoring position.
16:47Hurlings third in a 20-point scoring position.
16:50Fevra, watch this here, Salepa go, just hard on the brakes, down inside, chucks it in there again.
16:56Great move that, to move it to third.
17:05And now he goes after Lukas Kunin.
17:08Kunin goes defensive.
17:10Fans on their feet for the bullet.
17:11But Hurlings have definitely brought his A-game once again, hasn't he, to Matterley Basin.
17:29Well, just to MXGP in general.
17:31He said when he came back in Sardinia, he was nowhere near close to race fitness.
17:36And he's just been plugging away, improving week in, week out.
17:41He arrives here on the back of two Grand Prix victories on the bounce.
17:45Germany and Latvia, rounds 10 and 11.
17:48Didn't make the best start, but here he is in third.
17:50Challenging Lukas Kunin now for second place.
17:53He's dropped Fernandes and Fevra.
18:03Nice tight line coming through that first turn.
18:06Up onto the pegs as soon as possible.
18:09Going to try and launch down inside here.
18:11There was a chink in the armour.
18:13Kunin hesitated.
18:14Hurlings stole the march.
18:15He moves into second.
18:24Didn't take much, did it?
18:29Just at the top of the hill, you saw the difference in lines.
18:32Kunin jumped a little bit too long and maybe to the left.
18:35Hurlings had already made his mind up that he was going to come down the inside anyway.
18:39Gifting and Vellaneran fighting over sixth place.
18:53Great to see the privateer Yamaha up there.
18:57Once again.
18:58So Kunin, similar to yesterday.
19:06And Fevra down the inside of Fernandes as he moves up in a fourth place.
19:11He's now got his main rival ahead of him.
19:13So ten minutes to go.
19:27Again, Fevra hasn't panicked, has he?
19:29The old, wise head on those shoulders.
19:33Racecraft, knowing what to do, at when, at what time.
19:42When to push, when not to.
19:45Just been patiently sitting there.
19:49This was Fevra on Fernandes.
19:50Fernandes wasn't clean out of there, but again.
19:53Fevra taking full advantage of that, picking him off.
19:57Moving into fourth position.
19:59Next man in his line of sights.
20:03Is Kunin.
20:03As it stands right now, the gap at the top of the championship down to 27 points.
20:12Between these two, because Romo Fevra on 5.57.
20:15Lucas Kunin on 5.30.
20:19Vellaneran's moved up to sixth.
20:26Round the outside.
20:28On the plateau.
20:30And into that long, sweeping camber.
20:33Vellaneran now sixth.
20:45Just as it was yesterday.
20:47For the first four or five laps of the qualifying race.
20:51Koldenov.
20:52And Hurlings.
20:57Hurlings found his way through to the lead early on,
21:00but it was Koldenov who kept him there honest for those first four laps.
21:03Now, though, the position's reversed.
21:05It's Koldenov who has led.
21:09From the majority of this race.
21:12We're now on lap 10.
21:13Hurlings getting closer, isn't it?
21:24It's still caught up in here.
21:26Yeah, it looks like now it's going to...
21:27Hurlings getting closer, isn't it?
21:28Yeah, good.
21:29Up onto the triple.
21:39Two corners before the end of the tenth lap.
21:44Isaac Gifting folds the front.
21:45Cairoli goes around the outside and moves into seventh place.
21:48So, judging by that,
22:03maybe there isn't anything wrong with that front brake.
22:04Maybe he's pointing to the hangar.
22:07Who knows?
22:08But there was something on the front right side of that bike
22:11that Cairoli wasn't happy with a couple of laps to go,
22:13but he's decided to stay out there,
22:15and he's picked up a position.
22:16He moves up into seventh place.
22:17As Hurlings now closes in on Koldenov
22:21and getting ready to strike.
22:23Koonen only 2.4 seconds further back in third.
22:28Seven minutes plus two laps to go.
22:32Maybe sensing the danger from Roman Favre behind him.
22:35Right, Hurlings taking a look back as well.
22:41Louis Vosters having a very good look
22:43at what's going on out on track there from pit lane.
22:47Great for the Hoth, though.
22:51This is 1.6 now he has
22:56as an advantage over Jeffrey Hurlings.
22:59And actually, Lucas Koonen is closing back in on the bullet.
23:02Just wonder whether that was a look over the shoulder
23:04as if to suggest maybe riding with a little bit
23:07of dreaded arm pump Jeffrey Hurlings.
23:10Difting down.
23:12Bonacorsi going through and Siwa
23:14and probably Roman are most likely,
23:16so he's going to re-emerge in about 15th place.
23:19Gifting.
23:22So from 8th down to about 15th.
23:33Yeah, Favreau.
23:34Surprised at Favreau not
23:34able to capitalise on the fact that Koonen
23:38was right there ahead of him.
23:40Couldn't do anything about him.
23:46But the gap, 27 points.
23:48He's already gained a point
23:49over the course of the weekend so far.
23:52So it's not all doom and gloom.
23:58Again, Hurlings within a second of Koldenov
24:01drifts his way back onto the start straight.
24:09James Carpenter trying to stay out of the way there
24:11as the lead has come through.
24:12Koonenov getting held up.
24:26Just there in turn.
24:36Launching down into the valley.
24:38Hurlings honed in now on Koldenov.
24:46Who has led since he found his way
24:47past Koonen on the opening lap.
24:57Being urged on by the fans as well.
25:00Did a whole season race in the British National Championship
25:02last year just to ride himself into fitness,
25:04Geoffrey Hurlings.
25:04So, obviously got a lot of support here
25:07on this side of the English Channel.
25:17The Koonen is closing in, look.
25:21Knows he's got an opportunity here
25:23to wrestle back some more points
25:27from Roman Febvre.
25:29because if he can find his way
25:34past the 84,
25:37the cap won't be 50,
25:38no, it won't be
25:3927 anymore.
25:41He'll go down the 25.
25:49And if he can find his way
25:50to the front
25:50in that scenario.
25:51Be another three points gained
25:57on the Frenchman.
26:02But Koldenov being a very,
26:04very stubborn nut to crack.
26:07So Koonen
26:08did lead
26:09until this moment here
26:12when he just folded the front.
26:14Koldenov went around the outside.
26:25Take over the lead.
26:28It's on lap two.
26:36The second half of this race
26:37has really come alive now,
26:38hasn't it,
26:39for Lukas Koonen?
26:39Got bullied by Herlings yesterday
26:47on the opening lap
26:49of the qualifying race.
26:51Herlings passed him early again
26:52in this race.
26:56But Lukas Koonen
26:56seems to have
26:57sat there a little bit,
26:58tried to learn a bit,
26:59and then Herlings tips over
27:00in the corner
27:00and now to second place.
27:03Now all of a sudden
27:04the top two in the championship
27:05in reverse order.
27:08Right in each other's
27:09line of sight.
27:09That might be a boost
27:11for Roman Fevra
27:11but for Jeffrey Herlings
27:12to tip out of second place
27:13an uncharacteristic mistake.
27:20Oh, just
27:20folks are front
27:21on the way in.
27:25No, no, definitely not.
27:27He will be living
27:28under that list.
27:29Oh.
27:30You know it.
27:35So he picks himself
27:36back up in fourth place,
27:37Jeffrey Herlings.
27:38We'll be unaware of that
27:39at the moment.
27:39but he is going to be
27:4111 seconds off the lead.
27:50That's Fernandez
27:51just behind him
27:51and two seconds
27:53further back.
27:54Just a simple error.
27:54maybe approached that right-hander
27:57with his eye on one or two lines
28:00thinking,
28:00do I go here
28:01or do I go there?
28:01Had the line changed
28:02from one lap to the other,
28:04just caught him out.
28:05of course the nature of the ground here.
28:08of course the nature of the ground here,
28:08a little bit rocky on top,
28:09a little bit sticky,
28:10stodgy maybe.
28:12There was just something there
28:13that he didn't see
28:14until the last moment
28:16and then went down.
28:16either way,
28:20Cooner now up in the second place.
28:22Fevra third and Fevra not closing in.
28:24So no change in their situation
28:30in the championship really.
28:31just because they've moved up
28:42another position
28:42their amount of points
28:44has changed.
28:45Fevra now on 5.59
28:46and Cooner on 5.32
28:51the gap's still 27.
28:57That time's last time around.
28:59Yeah, Cooner 2.013
29:00Fevra 2.02.1
29:02as you say,
29:06the start of the weekend
29:07the gap between
29:09first and second
29:09in the championship
29:10Fevra and Cooner was 26
29:11after the quali race
29:12it went to 29
29:13back down to 27
29:14which in the greater scheme
29:16is still a point gained.
29:27but Glenn Koldenov
29:282.9 seconds clear
29:31he's been very cool
29:38calm
29:38and collected
29:39hasn't he?
29:40City took over the lead
29:41and he's got close
29:46two lap board goes out
29:52to the Fantec factory
29:54MXGP rider
29:55Glenn Koldenov
29:57with a two second advantage
30:15over Lucas Cooner
30:16who has just set the fastest lap
30:18of the race
30:181.598
30:204.0
30:21compared to a 2.012
30:23the Hoffer's going to have to
30:24pick his pace up here
30:25because he is going to be in danger
30:27of losing the lead
30:28and therefore
30:29the race win
30:31if he is not careful
30:33Fantec have never had a race win
30:35in MXGP
30:37and Lucas Cooner
30:46looking to spoil the party here
30:48the gap coming down
30:591.6 seconds
31:00Glenn Koldenov has responded
31:02with the fastest time
31:03in sector 2 of the race
31:0432.49 seconds
31:06compared to 33.0
31:08of Cooner
31:10Cooner did gain some ground
31:14in sector 1 though
31:1530.5 to 30.1
31:18and we've got back markers as well
31:20and of course
31:22the Hoffer's going to be
31:23the first one to appear
31:24onto the rear wheel
31:25of the lap riders
31:27who are just oblivious
31:30at the moment
31:30move out of the way
31:32so Perd doing his best
31:36to stay out of the way there
31:37but this is the gap
31:40between first and second
31:41as we charge uphill
31:43for the penultimate time
31:44will it be the Hoff
31:45or will it be Cooner
31:45all will be revealed
31:48in around about
31:502 minutes from now
31:51because as we hit the line
31:53to take the one lap board
31:54Koldenov knows
31:55he's got a fight on his hands
31:56the gap between him
31:57and the young pretender
31:58is about a second
32:00a 2.02 and a 2.01 lap time
32:03for the two leaders respectively
32:04wow
32:08what a surprise
32:09turnaround
32:10for Lucas Cooner
32:11was off form yesterday
32:14in the qualifying race
32:15when it was drier
32:16harder slicker
32:16we asked the question
32:17at the start of the broadcast
32:18will these kind of conditions
32:20be more favourable to him
32:22with a bit more grip
32:23and a bit more gear
32:25than all the rest of it
32:26well when he was parked there
32:28in sort of fourth place
32:30for a while
32:31didn't look like he was
32:32too bothered about
32:33going forward
32:34then he started
32:35inching towards Hurlings
32:36all of a sudden
32:45with Hurlings
32:45out of the picture
32:46and Fevre
32:47not offering
32:48any kind of threat
32:49Cooner
32:51doing everything he can
32:53to get after
32:54the race win
32:54and steal it
32:56on the final lap
32:57here from Glenn Koldenov
32:58Cooner with 8 wins
33:00already this year
33:00looking to make it 9
33:01if he can
33:02Glenn Koldenov
33:04on the other hand

33:32is holding firm
33:3312 years ago
33:35could he do it again
33:36this weekend
33:37and Koldenov
33:38just two corners away
33:40from taking the
33:42jagged flag
33:43when he gets to the
33:45top of the hill
33:45here
33:46and Koldenov
33:49just needs to hold
33:52his nerve
33:52through the final corner
33:53Glenn Koldenov
33:54will cross the line
33:55he will win race 1
