Seven licensed e-waste processing facilities are under investigation for allegedly importing electronic waste from overseas without approval.

At a press conference in Bukit Aman on Thursday (June 19), Department of Environment (DOE) enforcement division director Rosli Zul said the investigation followed raids on 57 premises nationwide under Ops Hazard 2.0.

He added that Malaysia has become a target for international syndicates seeking to dump illicit e-waste.
