02:00Bagi sisa plastik, dasar semasa telah menetapkan bahawa pengimportan kontena sisa plastik kod HS3915 perlu mendapat kelulusan lesen import ataupun AP terlebih dahulu sebelum dibenarkan masuk.
02:15Illegal waste mostly important for which country?
02:20It's one of the countries that we see is the countries of Japan and the United States.
02:27But there are also countries of other countries.
02:29Why is Malaysia a dumping ground and not like other countries like Singapore?
02:33Well, it's not just Malaysia is not the only country that is suffering from this.
02:40When last time China used to take a lot of this waste.
02:43After China tightened their regulations, I think 2018, as a result, Malaysia, Philippines, Indonesia, we have all been suffering from these issues.
02:54Because we are a major trading country.
02:56So that is one of the major challenges that we face.
02:58A lot of Port Klang is one of the biggest ports in the world.
03:02So as a result, we become a destination.
03:05But we have to step up our efforts at enforcement.
03:07But also the exporting countries have to play a role.
03:10So I can comment, for example, the European Union.
03:14Because they are coming in with new regulation that does not allow the exporting of plastic waste to non-OECD countries.
03:21Those sort of efforts will help countries like Malaysia to deal with this.
03:26Okay.
