00:00Now Newcastle United and Sunderland have both discovered their fixtures for the upcoming Premier League season of 2025-2026.
00:09The Magpies start on the road away at Aston Villa, the side they'd just about pipped to the Champions League at the end of last season.
00:18They then return home to St James' Park to welcome the defending Champions Liverpool in their first home fixture before returning back to the road to face Leeds United at Elland Road in their third game of the season.
00:30They finish away at Craven Cottage in the capital against Fulham.
00:35Sunderland, meanwhile, they begin at home at the Stadium of Light as they welcome West Ham to Wearside.
00:40They then take on Burnley at Turf Moor, a fellow newly promoted side in the Premier League, before returning to Wearside to welcome Brentford.
00:49Sunderland finish at home to Chelsea.
00:52Crucially, the two derby fixtures have also been announced.
00:56They take place in December and March, with the first of which being at the Stadium of Light on the weekend of the 13th of December and then at St James' Park on the weekend of the 21st of March.
01:08Meanwhile, Gateshead's new manager, Alan Armstrong, has spoken about why he chose to apply for the vacant managerial role at the International Stadium and what he will bring to the side.
01:21This place, I think, because I was already here, and after I speak with Bernard, and I knew the task was going to be a difficult one, but I never shy away from them.
01:35I'll face them head on, as simple as that, and for some unknown reason, I seem to get jobs where there's always a challenge.
01:43And whether that's because I'm quite good at that, only time will tell, but I would think in my previous jobs that I have proved that I can turn things around and hopefully get the success that we want.
01:56It might not be the success in the last three, four years, because it would have been fantastic, but I touched on it in my interview, that probably we're riding the crest of a wave a little bit and chasing success.
02:07And chasing that holy grail of the football league, and then you forget about what's underneath.
02:12There we go .
