00:00Where can you find the best beer in Manchester? Now that's a great question
00:03and one that I Theo Geuston Betts with Manchester World am endeavouring to
00:08answer for you. Now I've been at Manchester World for just over a year now
00:12literally as of the point that I'm filming this and I've been to three
00:16particular places that stand out to me as perfect for beer because they're
00:20independent it's top top quality beer and the atmosphere is off the charts so
00:24let's have a talk through those three places. So we're going to start with a
00:28random industrial estate just about a 10 minute walk along from Piccadilly
00:33Station. Now while this might seem like a bit of a trek I can guarantee you that
00:37it's worth it because we're not just finding one of the best breweries in
00:40Manchester here we are absolutely finding two of them as well as the fact
00:44that a shore shot which we haven't made it down to yet is around this area as
00:48well. Now this is Cloudwater Brewery. Fuzzy is the beer that you might see most
00:53often associated with them it's a delightfully refreshing beer but the
00:58story of Cloudwater is one that is slightly common now in Manchester but
01:02certainly wasn't common when they started. They were founded in 2014 brewing
01:06their first beers in very early 2015 and have constantly embraced new styles new
01:12types of beer to serve the people of Manchester. Their taproom has a brilliant
01:17atmosphere is always open on weekends and again the convenient part about both
01:21Cloudwater and track is that they are right next door to each other. In fact let's
01:26talk about track. Now as I say it is literally a very short walk across a road
01:33to get in there and again the atmosphere is brilliant. When they are having big
01:37nights over the weekend they have pizzas served there as well and their story
01:41actually begins a little bit earlier back in 2008 when their owner Sam went on a
01:47little trip all the way around the United States. He found small taprooms and
01:51breweries that simply weren't found in the UK and intended to bring them back and
01:55that's exactly what he's done. They've got a brilliant range of different styles of beer.
02:00My personal favorite is the Lepari which is a lemon sour which has a flavor like
02:05nothing I've ever tasted before and it's got a soft spot in my heart as well
02:08because it is one of the very first videos that I did here at Manchester World.
02:12Now a big part of the thing that defines the beer community in Manchester is the fact
02:18that they're all so willing to work together and that is where Northern Monk come in. Now while the company itself
02:24originated in Leeds they have this Manchester factory and it is a brilliant place
02:29to get a pint. I really can't emphasize enough they have really embraced the beer
02:33culture here in the city constantly they have options on from other breweries
02:38places like track places like Cloudwater and they have just such a brilliant
02:43atmosphere going on inside. Now you might wonder why we're talking about this and as
02:48I said at the beginning it is National Beer Day we thought it was important to
02:50celebrate some of the places that we think are doing beer right here in Manchester
02:54and these three are absolutely up there so give them a try and follow Manchester
02:59World for more.
