00:00Hello there. Warm, muggy and a risk of thunder and lightning. That's pretty much been the setup to finish off the week.
00:07But is there a change on its way? Well, to start off, let's take a look at the bigger picture.
00:12To end on Friday, Friday the 13th, there is still once again a risk of some heavy downpours.
00:17Also, some thunder and lightning as this system pushes up from the southwest, eventually advancing northwards
00:23and then later on bringing that risk of thunder and lightning into northern parts of the country for the beginning of the weekend.
00:29Met Office warnings in force, so do keep an eye on those on our website.
00:33But nevertheless, it does lead to quite an unsettled start for the weekend.
00:38And why is this? Well, once again, it's all thanks to the warm, humid air pushing up from Spain,
00:43Portugal pushing its way northwards all the way towards us here in the UK,
00:47particularly across the south and southeast where it's going to feel particularly warm and muggy.
00:52So, yes, this leads us into further warnings to start on the weekend, particularly for Saturday.
00:56Quite a widespread thunderstorm warning across northern parts of England, southern Scotland,
01:00also parts of Wales and southwest England.
01:03So, yes, once again, keep an eye on our website for any updates on those.
01:06So, Saturday, yes, it does look like it's going to be unsettled.
01:10Outbreaks of heavy, thundery downpours pushing their way northwards do take care of travelling.
01:15It could lead to spray on the roads.
01:17Some quite large areas of water could lead to some localised flooding.
01:20We could see hail, lightning, but across parts of the south, southeast, also central areas of England,
01:26it should be a largely bright afternoon.
01:29We can't rule out seeing any risk of showers.
01:31There is still a chance there.
01:33One or two could be heavy, particularly as they drift their way in from the west.
01:36But many should see a largely dry afternoon across parts of the south and southeast.
01:41But it's still going to be feeling quite warm and muggy.
01:44Highs reaching 24, possibly 25 degrees Celsius,
01:47but still a degree or two down compared to Friday.
01:50But elsewhere across the north, a much fresher day to come.
01:55Later on into the evening, we do eventually say goodbye to that system
01:59as it drifts its way northeastwards.
02:01We say goodbye to the rain and the risk of thunder and lightning.
02:04But notice another feature moving into the northwest.
02:07So, cloudier here across northwest Scotland, western parts of Northern Ireland,
02:11a risk of some light outbreaks of rain as this system drifts its way eastwards.
02:15But elsewhere, once again, seeing a largely dry and bright day.
02:19Though once again, there is still the risk of those showers,
02:22particularly across central areas, moving into East Anglia and parts of southeast England.
02:26One or two, once again, could be heavy with the risk of hail,
02:30possibly even some thunder and lightning.
02:32But many areas seeing a much better day on the second half of the weekend.
02:36Feeling a lot fresher too, particularly across northern parts of England,
02:40parts of Scotland.
02:40Temperatures in the high teens here, still just creeping into the low 20s across the southeast.
02:46But it's not going to feel quite as muggy as it has done to finish off the week
02:49and for the beginning of the weekend.
02:52And then what's next?
02:53Well, we still have high pressure building to the south and southwest.
02:57So, lots of dry, settled conditions to come.
02:59But see, once again, across the northern flank of that high,
03:02still some frontal systems moving through.
03:04So, still a chance of some more cloud and rain for these areas.
03:07And although it will begin to feel a little fresher from Sunday,
03:10temperatures look like they are creeping back up again as we head into next week.
03:14But, of course, for more information on that,
03:16don't forget to subscribe to our YouTube channel.
03:18Bye-bye.
