00:00:49Needless to say, we are on the air from Greenville, South Carolina.

00:00:53In the Bi-Low Center, Rick Steiner did not wait for us to go on the air to come out

00:00:58and talk about Booker T.

00:01:00Here he is, his second week since returning, the former world champion.

00:01:05And the fans are going nuts.

00:01:07Feel that music.

00:01:16You know something, Rick Steiner?

00:01:19Me and Big Papa Pump, there's a lot of bad blood running there.

00:01:23And I'm going to handle that in due time.

00:01:27But as far as you go, I'm going to come down to this ring for one reason and one reason only.

00:01:35And that's for these fans right here in this audience.

00:01:41But not only am I going to come to that ring, but I'm going to whoop your ass all over the place tonight.

00:01:50Here he comes.

00:01:51But you know what, but you know what, at the end of the night, I'm going to be the US champion.

00:01:59Get me a referee out here, let's do this.

00:02:02He asked for a referee, Scott James, a shot.

00:02:07And we're off and running with Nitro, Tony Schiavone, and Scott Hudson.

00:02:10This has to be an extension, Scott, of what went down a week ago when Booker T walked back into Scott Steiner's life, Rick's brother, and pinned Scott Steiner right here on this program.

00:02:22He certainly did in a six-man contest that will go down in history as one of the most exciting moments in Nitro when Booker T returned, joined up with the cat and diamond Dallas Page.

00:02:33Oh, and at the end of the night, he had scored the 1-2-3 on the World Heavyweight Champion.

00:02:38You're looking at two men who are very similar in many aspects.

00:02:42The fact is, they fear no man, and they will not back down from a challenge.

00:02:47When we saw Rick Steiner come out before he even went on the air, you and I both knew that this would not go unanswered, and Booker T has come right back out.

00:02:57He's got a referee, and these two men are going at it.

00:03:00Rick Steiner, the All-American from the University of Michigan.

00:03:04What would prompt Rick Steiner to jumpstart Nitro and to call out Booker T?

00:03:10Is he running interference for his brother, the world champion, Scott Steiner?

00:03:17So he's trying to get to his feet.

00:03:20Head first to the top turnbuckle.

00:03:22This is, I understand, a non-title match, an impromptu match.

00:03:27Booker T said he wanted to get that U.S. title.

00:03:30He's going to have to go through Rick Steiner here, and then, of course, maybe get a shot at the U.S. title on down the line.

00:03:37But Steiner sitting down.

00:03:38He'll make a cover, and now we've got a two.

00:03:42Into the rear chin lock on Booker T.

00:03:44You're not going to take the former World Heavyweight Champion out that easy.

00:03:48But Rick Steiner has no soul, and Booker T consumed with rage.

00:03:55For Scott Steiner, the man that took him out of the game for the better part of five months, he doesn't have Scott Steiner.

00:04:02He's got Rick Steiner, and he got Steiner line.

00:04:05Booker T suffered a crack sternum.

00:04:07Booker T, of course, has had multiple knee injuries, many of them perpetrated by Scott Steiner.

00:04:12A cover and a two count once again.

00:04:15You're looking at the United States Champion, Rick Steiner, the U.S. champ.

00:04:19Scott Steiner, Big Papa Pup, the world champ.

00:04:22Needless to say, the Steiner Brothers rule the roost in WCW right now.

00:04:26They're on top of the heap, and they know about it, and they are threatening referees, as you can see right there.

00:04:32They've had a long career of showing no respect for the officials or anybody else in the position of authority.

00:04:38All right, back out for Booker T, and here comes the former champion.

00:04:41Booker T, fist of fire, reigning on the side of the head of the dog, Freight Scredlin.

00:04:47The U.S. champ is wobbly, right back to the putter.

00:04:50Here's Booker T, he said he's gonna do it for the fans.

00:04:53He calls out to the fans, hammering on the side of the head.

00:04:56With every punch, he was remembering exactly how bad he couldn't wait to get back into the ring for the five months.

00:05:06Scott Steiner had him on the sideline, but is he too consumed with hate to focus on Rick Steiner?

00:05:12You don't give Rick Steiner an open door, he'll burst right through it.

00:05:15Big forearm shot, rock the head of Steiner with an Irish grip to the corner, and a foot caught the jaw of Booker T.

00:05:22Flash on the jaw, hits Stagger, the former world champion, back to the other corner,

00:05:27and now gives Rick Steiner cause to chase.

00:05:30Into the other side he goes, Booker T, as agile as always.

00:05:34Good go behind, but a back elbow staggered.

00:05:36The former champion, belly to belly over the top.

00:05:39Here's the cover again.

00:05:41One, two, but Booker T will not stay down.

00:05:44Not a lot of authority on that kick out, and as we talk about Scott Steiner, let's not forget,

00:05:48he's got his hands full of a DDP.

00:05:50Oh, and for a moment there, over the top.

00:05:53Booker falls, oh, anybody?

00:05:56A two only.

00:05:58Another Steiner line rocks the head, the neck, the upper body of Booker, and another cover here by Rick Steiner.

00:06:06You saw right there Rick Steiner keep his head in the game like I haven't seen Rick Steiner do in many, many months.

00:06:13He double-clicked when Booker held onto the ropes, but still got the Steiner line and got the one-two count on the former world champion.

00:06:20Steiner may be getting to him.

00:06:21Each kick out with less and less authority dropped him down with a sit-out powerbomb that time.

00:06:28Booker T, that's got to be it.

00:06:52Booker T should take advantage here, and oh, has he ever.

00:06:57Some blocks from the middle of it planted him.

00:07:11It's the move that pinned Scott Steiner one week ago, and now he's back to his feet.

00:07:20Rick Steiner, most of us in the ring.

00:07:22Now he's up, but Booker T is right on top.

00:07:25No, he was headed toward the bookend.

00:07:28Yes, he was.

00:07:28And Rick Steiner knew it.

00:07:30Steiner trying to pick him up with a Steiner driver, but Booker T held on in the jaw.

00:07:52He had seen enough in the clutch of the Booker T with the bookend imminent.

00:08:06Diamond Dallas Page has come out to help Booker.

00:08:09He nails Rick.

00:08:10He goes after Scott Steiner.

00:08:13It's Page and Steiner.

00:08:15They're not waiting until the green pay-per-view at all, Steiner.

00:08:19For weeks, we've been waiting for these two to cut the blows.

00:08:23And now with DDP in, security coming out, keeping Scott Steiner and Rick Steiner on the floor.

00:08:29But look at Booker T and Diamond Dallas Page, side by side, wanting these two men to get back in the ring.

00:08:36Neither man took one step back from the Steiner Brothers, one of the most dominant tag teams in pro wrestling.

00:08:42And WCW's former world tag team champions, the Steiner Brothers, what a piece of DDP and Booker T, too.

00:08:52It's all that security can do to keep this wild man away from the ring.

00:08:56And Booker T and Diamond.

00:09:00Hey, DDP, aren't you afraid of running?

00:09:06Yo, I knew it was only a matter of time before you ran your punk ass out here.

00:10:17It looks like we've done a tag team match for later on tonight, if they can hold him back until later on.

00:10:25The Steiner, DDP, and Booker T.

00:10:36Just when it looked like Booker T was going to hit the bookend on Rick Steiner, the world champion, hit the ring.

00:10:41But DDP was there for the save, and when it all shook out on Nitro, we had a main event of epic proportions for later tonight.

00:10:51Booker T will team with Diamond Dallas Page to take on Rick and Scott Steiner, the Steiner brothers, Page and Booker later tonight.

00:11:00We have to wonder if the team of Diamond Dallas Page and Booker T can really combine the ragtag force in the back and have a threat to the power of the Nature Boy, Ric Flair.

00:11:12Speaking of Ric Flair, earlier this week, Ric Flair's office came down with this feature event for tonight on WCW Monday Nitro.

00:11:22Jeff Jarrett against the American Dream, Dusty Rhodes.

00:11:26We all know the situation between Jeff Jarrett and Dustin Rhodes, but what possessed Ric Flair to actually go out and get Dusty Rhodes back in World Championship Wrestling?

00:11:39That is a legendary feud, two of the biggest names in WCW, both former World Heavyweight Champions.

00:11:45But Ric Flair put pen to paper and brought Dusty Rhodes back to WCW.

00:11:50Tony, he's not even under contract to World Championship Wrestling.

00:11:54But that's going to happen here tonight, as well as the tag team match we talked about.

00:11:59Speaking of tag team matches, the Cruiserweight Tag Team Tournament continues and will culminate at WCW Green Pay-Per-View.

00:12:06Let's take a look at what happened last week.

00:12:08Last week, Rey Mysterio Jr. and Kidman took on Johnny Swinger and Jason Lee.

00:12:12And with the Kid Crusher, Kidman put the lights out on Jason Lee.

00:12:17They advanced in the tournament.

00:12:19And then on WCW Thunder, the Young Dragons.

00:12:23And you see Yang with the Yang time wiping out Mike Sanders.

00:12:28And Sanders and Queenie went down.

00:12:30The Young Dragons have advanced.

00:12:32And you see where we stand now.

00:12:34Kidman and Rey Mysterio Jr. in round two.

00:12:36The Young Dragons in round two.

00:12:38And now we have another first round matchup in the WCW Cruiserweight Tag Team Tournament.

00:12:48We will see later tonight, or coming up next, another match.

00:12:53But you see the other bracketing.

00:12:55Who will be Elix Skipper's tag team partner as he takes on Air Paris and AJ Styles?

00:13:01But that's the real question, Tony.

00:13:02Who has Elix Skipper managed to Shanghai to come over to his way of thinking and be his partner in this tournament?

00:13:10That's the question that we are going to have answered momentarily here.

00:13:30Here are two men who really made a name for themselves in WCW recently on Thunder.

00:13:36Went from the top, AJ Styles covered Disco.

00:13:40And Styles and Paris defeated Disco and Alex Wright.

00:13:44But who's going to be the partner for Primetime?

00:13:47We're going to find out.

00:13:48That's right, I'm taking over.

00:15:44Finally, King Romeo is going to come into WCW and be the partner of primetime, Scotty.

00:15:51What a buildup this man has received, and I certainly can't say I expected him to make his initial night to appearance as the tag team partner of primetime.

00:16:01Helix Skipper in this tournament, but here he is, Kid Romeo.

00:16:06Kid Romeo, the Latin American star, the sensation who has spent a time in Japan with New Japan Pro Wrestling.

00:16:15He was there this past summer, competing in the Super J Cup 7 Cruiserweight Tournament, so he knows what it's like to be in a Cruiserweight Tournament.

00:16:24And this time he'll be in the first ever Cruiserweight Tag Team Tournament, and could possibly walk into WCW and walk out on the 18th of this month as one of the new Cruiserweight Tag Team Champions.

00:16:39He looks to be in tremendous condition, as does primetime.

00:16:43AJ Styles and Aaron Paris, maybe only by a couple of weeks, could have the experience edge as a tag team.

00:16:50Oh!

00:16:54The referee is Slick Johnson, and here we go.

00:17:01The third match in the Cruiserweight Tag Team Tournament.

00:17:08First round match, and immediately, Kid Romeo showing the arrogance.

00:17:16Well, he is well put together.

00:17:19He and Primetime are even matches in just about every category.

00:17:24Except he just got the Armjack takedown from AJ Styles.

00:17:27Winner of this matchup will advance to face the team of the Young Dragons in the Cruiserweight Tag Team Tournament.

00:17:36You saw earlier the big win that Styles and Paris had over Disco and Alex Wright.

00:17:41They don't do a lot for their confidence.

00:17:43One would say it gave them a lot of momentum going into this tournament.

00:20:04He told me if they have one weakness, it's that their feud, which lasted almost one year,

00:20:10that may prove the undoing of them as a team.

00:20:12They have to keep it together to get advanced in this tournament.

00:20:18Tag is made, and here comes AJ Styles, and here comes Kid Romeo.

00:20:22On the other side, Romeo and Elix Skipper Primetime together for the first time ever in WCW.

00:24:48for the WCW World Tag Team Championship

00:24:52coming up at the WCW 3 pay-per-view

00:24:57in Jacksonville, Florida, Sunday, the 18th of March.

00:25:00That is gonna be a collision of two different mindsets

00:25:03of the veteran team and the youthful team.

00:25:06It should be a great matchup, Scott.

00:25:14they are not legitimate champions.
