Four Japanese soldiers injured in explosion at US base in Okinawa

The blast occurred while the soldiers, who specialise in handling explosives, were working at the storage facility for unexploded World War II ordnance, authorities said.

00:00Four Japanese soldiers sustained non-life-threatening injuries
00:05following an explosion at a U.S. military base on the southern island of Okinawa.
00:11The soldiers were working at a storage site for unexploded ordnance,
00:16mostly from wartime and found on the island, local officials said.

00:39There are hundreds of tons of unexploded wartime bombs that remain buried around Japan.
00:44Many of them drop by the U.S. military during World War II.
00:49Many of them are still found on Okinawa,
00:51where nearly 2,000 tons of unexploded U.S. bombs are believed to remain.
